There are search functions and google. This isn't a request thread, just sayin. None of those looks too rare.
So yeah you can post requests here but posting requests for common osts like chrono or dbz looks stupid really.
While this is quite true, Chrono Cross OST is pretty much down in most (or all?) FLAC links inside the shrine, it's pretty much only on one thread (in the sea of "Chrono Cross" results) and on Vegeta's collection...(best place to go, as always)
Found that when my main storage drive went down...some really common albums quite dead...
Honestly, it's not quite rare that new users would feel confused while browsing...
Rohan12315
03-26-2017, 01:16 PM
Yeah dead links are a problem and for new users who do not know the people here or alternative download sites, it can be real intimidating. When I first visited this forum, all the links on the thread I was browsing were dead. And that was a dbz soundtrack collection, so I came to the conclusion that this was a dead site, only to return a few months later and fill my hd lol.

Although that's like saying.. "Dedicated hard drive space for User A.. that pays for Pro II service. Yet we copy the same file to User B and call it sharing." Meaning they have it setup in like a Sync way. So there is 2 copies of each from User A to User B. Instead of taking advantage of the fact that the files could be copied over the internet like how you would downloading a file from a location to your PC, but instead transferring the file to the other account.
In short term. It's like 2 guys buying a hard drive in a store.. each get's their own space of lets say 1TB, and the guy shares his stuff with the other guy, so they both have 1 copy of each. Taking up hard drive space on both.
They didn't used to be like this. It used to be simple text.. as in, You could view the files, but they wouldn't be on your account as well... then you had the choice of copying the file over. Now you can still copy the file over but why the fuck would that matter if it's already taking up the space. lmao
Leon Scott Kennedy
03-31-2017, 08:11 PM
True that, but they're not the first to pull that "stunt" off (incoming shares taking up space on the other user's account, too), so… Meh. *Shrugs*

I know, right? I brought this up a while back, it's really shitty how they started doing this all of a sudden. It's similar to how Dropbox works with shared folders, except the files still aren't "yours" to edit/delete like they are on Dropbox.. *May not be exact release. This is the Qobuz lossless web release, and it lists 2014 as when it was added to the Qobuz site...however, that may be wrong, in which case I apologize. Hopefully Qobuz releases are acceptable here (...and isn't the reason why this hasn't been linked here already). If they are acceptable here, then I'll upload the rest of the ME2 DLC, too.
Well the soundtracks of "Mass Effect 2" are from 2010 originally. As for "are they acceptable here?" I let the big heads judge the case, but if everything's all right, then do upload the rest.

http://vgmdb.net/album/8180
Does anyone have it?, at this point it doesn't even matter if it's not lossless, lost the disc and lost the files :/
At some point in time it was here on the shrine (lossy), but not anymore

Oh thanks a lot, this one was part of my car main music while driving, really never thought it would be this hard to track this days...
Does anyone know why Guitar Freaks/Drummania/Gitadora albums are so rare to come by? (aside from the latest one out), even though DDR are so easy to get...

Just FYI, Yooka-Laylee at the end is not released by Varese (apparently the CD release is just manufactured by them) so you're all free to share a CD rip or a WEB FLAC if you wish, of the soundtrack.
Now, about the future orchestral release, that I don't know. Nothing's been told but maybe that one would be released by Varese, at least in CD form.

Ah, wait. Leon, Laced Records apparently is a sister label of Varese. Should it be forbidden, then?

The same would apply to No Man's Sky.. which has been on here for quite a while now. So it should be fine.
And, as far as I could tell, Laced Music is not owned by UMD (unlike Varse).

Does anyone have this album:
http://vgmdb.net/album/51805 ?
I'm specifically looking for a rip of the blu-ray which contains an opening movie to the game, the "best" quality i could find was on youtube, but youtube compresses videos.
I hope this is the right place to ask since it's a video, and not music, but it is included along with a cd music single.

A slight adjustment to my shared folder rules.. (I guess you call it?).. Before adding anyone to my subscription list.. I give a warning that by adding anyone to said subscription. My shared folder will take up the entire space on their account. And if they need to upload something they might want to subscribe with an alternate account that they do not plan to upload to.
I just wanna say thanks for the years I've enjoyed your shared files. Sadly, I'm afraid that has come to an end. With this stupidity of "shared" disk space and the download caps, it's nearly imposible to download anything beyond ~700 MB or so using a web browser. I used to copy the files I needed to my cloud, get the link and download it using a non-MEGA downloader, now that's imposible. Being suscribed to you makes mandatory to upgrade to Pro just for the downloads now, not just the disk space. Thanks again, after all, it's not your fault.

I'll try it. I really hope it works.
Edit: It's way too complicated and since it logs in, I don't think it's gonna override the transfer quota. To make things worse, Vegeta's files are not public and will not give any links, so it's impossible to get them with this tools.
It's over, maybe it's time for Vegeta to find an alternative way to share or for me to simply forget about it.

I mean people are more than welcome to download the files off of me, and reupload to another host if it helps getting stuff spread around.

There's another simpler and easier tool, but dunno if it's ok here to link it or not, MegaDownloader
You'll still need the direct link to use it and can't do it directly from Vegeta, so you'll need a secondary account regardless to copy the file you want, generate the link and paste it in the program...

If they have a 2nd account added onto the shared folder, wouldn't that just mean that account would have taken up space as well? How would they copy a file to an account that has storage maxed out from a shared folder from someone else?

It's quite a drag now with MEGA. If I make another account, the moment I subscribe it will max out my disk space and disable the copy feature. I know that you can't give away the links and the reason for which you opted to make the subscription system from the very beginning, your files would barely survive a week.
Does your browser time out after 700 MB or something?
Sometimes it does, but most of the times is MEGA's transfer limits for a free account.
Just really limited to what I can share.. I mean I have an Amazon Cloud Drive account as well.. but you know how fast direct links with them would get pulled, then account banned lol
Don't worry, I guess I will have to get used to download a couple of files a day as long as they don't go off the free transfer limit. I guess is better than nothing. It could be worse, it could be Megaupload all over again.
If it's a bug, I hope they finally address it soon, but they probably won't since it's very likely to have risen the number of accounts with a Pro upgrade.

Sorry to intrude, but I "think" I can tell you that the transfer limit for free accounts is usually higher than 1 GB… I've a free account on MEGA and I just finished downloading a 1,81 GB file via web browser, first download of the day, though. EDIT: finished another 500 MB file, still no notice about transfer limit, weird.
Does that transfer limit show up as soon as you attempt a download, or do you get "smaller stuff" first, perhaps?

Man, as a user of the official Firefox add-on from MEGA, I can assure you that sometimes my account's "file management"+other MEGA pages refuse to load with that thing enabled (blank… Forced to disable the add-on to get the website working again, albeit a bit slower).
This to tell you that, sometimes, you can't even trust the official stuff to work "as intended". I'd say to give Mega Downloader a try and see how it fares.

Nope, or at least not yet, I'm used to copy a file from your shared folder to mine and then generate the link to download via MegaDownloader, as long as the original account is not itself full for real you can keep copying files from shared folders, you're just not allowed to upload "new" stuff to the account...
I know it's weird since it's shown as full, and I hope they don't change that...
The official plugin is better to be avoided, never got any good functionality out of it...it's better to just use the "download through browser" option all the time if people wants to avoid any third party one...

I think you couldn't get it for free because you were trying to gift it. See on the upper left hand side it's written gift digital album but normally it should be digital album. If an album is marked free/name your price, it's the same the world over.
Edit - About the mega bandwidth thing, the bandwidth allotted to a free account depends on the traffic the server can currently handle. That's what mega says, but I think they stop it just when you are downloading the most important file and it's about 90% done. Btw there are no restrictions on the android version of mega. I have downloaded around 15gb in 3hrs several times but have never faced any problem. The catch is it messes any download over 2gb in size, atleast on my phone.

This is absolutely incredible! I have been waiting for these soundtracks in lossless for who knows how long. You are a true hero Sakhr. Does anyone know how I can buy these myself from Qobuz from the US? I would very much like to support the musicians directly. I already bought these from the iTunes releases, but I would love to get them myself in lossless, and have access at all times to the files.

I am not sure if Qobuz is restricted from U.S. purchasing or not. I'd suggest buying something directly from Sam Hulick's bandcamp, where you could more or less choose exactly what you want to pay him (him and Jack Wall seemingly being the two main architects by the Mass Effect series music...but Jack Wall doesn't seem to have a bandcamp). Bandcamp gives a much better percentage of the money to the artist than any other site, as far as I know.
I already own all of Sam's stuff and most of Jimmy Hinson's (Big Giant Circles) music on Bandcamp. So I am way ahead of you on that one =P

Which of these are legitimate purchases? I am noticing quite a bit of cut off/compression with the first 4 tracks on the Original Soundtrack. They sound a little upsampled to me. Haven't had a chance to check the other albums yet.

Honestly I think for the most part they sound better than the ~256kbps .m4a versions on iTunes and the VBR on Amazon, so at least there is that. I do see in in Spectro that a few of the tracks have cutoff in the teens anywhere between 13-17kHz with the spectrum sometimes hitting the threshold of 22kHz but only in a couple spots and spikes where it is mostly blue. So some of these are definitely not true CD quality, but drastically better. A couple tracks are very comparable in Spectro to the lossy versions when it comes to kHz cutoff though which is a shame.
I am only talking about the OST tracks here. Haven't looked/listened to the DLC tracks yet. Even some of the tracks spoof the Lossless Audio Checker as being 100% lossless but still have a kHz cutoff at like 18 which honestly isn't too crazy. The spectrums look a lot better in those with higher cutoff where you can see "more going on". Either way this is an awesome share, thank you very much. Maybe some more people will be able to come in here and offer their findings as well.

Either way I think this belongs here, because this is about as "Lossless" as we are going to get for the Mass Effect 2 releases. As I stated before they sound better to me than the iTunes .m4a and the VBR Amazon releases, so this is probably going to be the best we ever get.

Thanks @Sakhr. I'll be able to finally complete the trilogy collection in flac =3
I'll credit you on my thread too, of course.
Even so, sad to see the releases aren't up to Qoobuz "standard".
I think the blame should be coming more from EA' side...
See how they're still treating ME2 on Origin: all the DLCs are still only available via the old Bioware's website with "credit points".
Won't guess how much "attention" they offered to the soundtracks then (u_u )
Anyway, releases coming through: it's Upload time~

Personally, I was interested in most of the stuff included in that limited edition (minus the game), so, yeah, I've gladly paid an amount of money rather close to that when I ordered from e-CAPCOM.
Still, you've posted that message in a thread devoted to sharing, in fucking Download Links, of course you're interested in buying it, 100%, who would dare to doubt it, given the circumstances? Sadly for you: 0) I don't really care if you're interested, or not, as a moderator I have to get rid of any reference to it anyway; 1) That has been forbidden material around here for years now, one would think you'd know you're not supposed to request it (that is, if you bother to read and/or re-read important Sticky threads, every once in a while); 2) If you truly want it, the only way to have it (unless you get lucky with auction sites), is purchasing the whole package, no standalone release for that thing.

If we are talking about the disc I'm assuming we're talking about... yeah I'd love to buy it separately too but I don't think it would be possible. Couldn't find a rip anywhere on the web, I'd settle for that but no way I'm paying $200+ for that cd

And on another unrelated note... a lot of discs I purchased contained the single CD for Super Mario Galaxy! Unexpected find. But i alread have a rip of the 2Cd, I think I got from Vegeta… is there anything unique to this single disc that would warrant me ripping it and adding it to my library? Any unique tracks/edits, or different mastering?

Are all the ME2 OSTs posted recently from Qobuz, and are authentic 24 bit? There's been so much confusion in the past that I've held off on grabbing them unless I was absolutely certain there were the best quality available.
And thanks Hikaru for HZD in 24-bit! :)

These weren't released in CD form, so these SCVA recordings are filling in the gap. Or rather, the MIDI data was released, but still.
Actually, there are probably MIDI collection albums with hardware recordings of these somewhere but I don't have lossless rips of them OR own them at all, so here. I don't think all of these were recorded at all, anyway.

Does anyone know the source of the MOTHER 3i rip listed in the download here (
Thread 64743) and here (
http://www.mediafire.com/?5kk9bag0l36k8)? There's a Japanese EAC log in the archive, from what I can tell...but as far as the internet seems to know, MOTHER 3i was never released on physical media. Additionally, the rip seems super lossy mastered (but I guess that's to be expected, since it's GBA music). Anyone know what's up with that?

@Sakhr
"MOTHER3i" never received a physical release.
It even had its booklet done afterward, digitally too.
Since 2007, it would have been known by all the hardcore MOTHER's fans, already.
It's really just a false rip.

He probably means MP3 files burned to CD and then ripped as FLAC. Like in the case of Mother3i I guess.
But..there was something with this soundtrack....damn, I don't remember

Yep, what Chrono said. I'm actually trying to find the iTunes version of Mother3+ right now (it has a bonus track compared to the CD version), but it seems like every link to it is dead. Frustrating.

Actually yes I guess, but I'm not so familiar with accuraterip.
In this case I have to rely on the people here who have more idea.
AccurateRip compares the Files to a database on the Internet.
So if someone wants to check whether a Flac-Soundtrack is really Flac,
someone must have already made a CRC-Checksum of the corresponding CD available.
Do I understand this in the right manner?

...Hmm, I'm curious as to what accuraterip would actually say about this. Spectrum analysis is no good, obviously: the GBA music is too low quality to make any meaningful distinction here - not even the MP3s get even close to saturating their frequency/data limits, never mind FLACs (...unless there are better quality MP3s out there that I don't know of, anyways - I'm still not sure what quality the iTunes versions of M3i/+ were even released in, and as of now, it seems impossible to find the original versions of them, even on private trackers...which is really weird - I would've figured finding the CD version of M3+ would've been more difficult than silly iTunes, but it's by far the easiest.).

Frankly, even if there was a doubt somehow, apart from a secret internal release between the composer and friends/coworkers/whatever (like Story of Thor 2 on Saturn), there is really no chance that it was released on CD.
For the only reason that making one, producing it, distributing it and all cost a good chunk of money. Even with just a few copies, it still cost a lot, even more for something as obscure as this.
Digitally though, it's more viable for obvious reasons.

[AccurateRip ID: 00219a3e-018193ff-df0f780f]disk not present in database. This is the important line.
Accuraterip, in simplest terms, takes a checksum (a small unique digital representation) of each track, and checks in its database to find if anyone else got the same whilst ripping a CD. If every track matches and there are 50 other people with your Radiohead album ("confidence: 50", it should display), then great - you've ripped it at least as accurately as a bunch of other people. If the confidence is "5" on every track and it's an obscure Japanese pressing of a soundtrack for a game that never got released in the West, hey, that's likely fine too. AR can only provide a positive disc identification; negatives are left to the user to figure out.
If you get a couple of tracks with lower confidence, as long as your checksums match the ones in the AR database then it's very unlikely to be a damaged disc, as corrupted/ data will almost always return a unique checksum. More likely it is a minor pressing alteration, this happens in CD manufacturing quite a bit.
If you get a couple of tracks where the checksums don't match anyone else's, but other tracks that check out fine, you might have a scratched or otherwise damaged disc (likely EAC will have struggled with these tracks and you'll see errors in the log, different checksums with each rip, etc). We were taught in the 80s that CDs were indestructible, but unfortunately the truth is that they are really quite fragile. There are also various chemical problems that can crop up with optical discs even if they're well treated; clouding on the substrate ("mold"), oxidisation of the reflective layer ("bit rot"), breaking down of the adhesive between the two, and so on.
Anyway, if you get no matches on any tracks and it's a popular release, then there's probably something wrong with your setup (check your drive offset). If you get no matches and it isn't a popular release... you have to use your own judgement. In this case it seems highly unlikely that it's a legit disc, from what you mention of the circumstances, so yeah, I'd go with "almost certainly a fake", or if not a fake, simply someone who doesn't know what they're doing. Does the log list what drive was used to rip the disc?
(Apologies if the above seems patronising btw, you seem to have a solid grasp but I thought I'd lay it all out in case anyone else was wondering.)
Sakhr
04-19-2017, 03:15 PM
It was all good information, so no complaints here. The drive was HL-DT-STDVDRAM GSA-4081B(?). The offset was 637. Accuraterip says the offset for that drive is supposed to be 667, not 637, with 100% accuracy on reported 227 drives. So...misconfigured, it looks like. I applied a +30 offset to cuetools' and tried to re-verify it, and it was still unknown.
So basically, the very last thing you could do is look at the spectrum and see if there's any additional non-artifact/non-false data there compared to the iTunes version, which, with such low-fi tracks to begin with, is more or less going to be a straight up judgement call outside of something really obvious. But since I don't have either of the original iTunes versions of these soundtracks to actually compare (unless the MP3 320s of Mother 3i are actually the original iTunes releases...but I don't know that for certain...and that still leaves the iTunes version of Mother 3+ that I still can't find), I can't really do that anyways. :P
If these other MP3 320s are the real iTunes versions, then this is what the tracks looked like when compared with each other in Audacity:
http://www.mirari.fr/XWrc
"Lossless" on top, MP3 on bottom. Except for a few obvious artifacts, looks like pretty much a dead ringer.

Does anyone know if the Need For Speed Most Wanted (2005) soundtrack (the licensed music, not the score) ever had a release? I've constantly seen downloads floating around over the years claiming to be 320 mp3 (they're usually transcodes) but I'd been under the impression EA sold it online or something. Anyway, there doesn't seem to be any record of it ever being offered for sale, VGMDB, EA's site, the wiki, etc. don't mention it. So that got me thinking everything I've seen must've just been a game rip, right? So the game ripped files from JoshW.info only have a 32KHz sampling rate, but somewhere along the way I've managed to pick up what appears to be a genuine 320 mp3 @ 44.1KHz since the spec checks out.
My next guess would be that this is simply from the regular album, since virtually all of the licensed songs had commercial album releases - except that a quick look around shows that Tao of the Machine wasn't. Not this specific remix anyway. So, either it had a release that nobody is talking about, or the pc version used better quality audio (joshw doesn't have a pc rip for it).

@Despair: Well, sometimes those frequencies can be unecessarily upscaled from the original as far as I know. I can easily pick a 32000KHz song dumped from, say, Dolphin, open it in Audacity, change the project settings to 44100KHz, export it and spek will tell it's 44100 even if it natively isn't. Just because it says 44100 it doesn't mean it's better than the original, just unecessary size bulk (again, my guess, if I'm wrong please someone correct me). Just a thought, you never know.

Pretty much. Chronicles+ gives me the option of playing with 3 different versions of the soundtrack ("the original 80s FM-synth, an early 2000s MIDI-style remix or a modern studio performance by Falcom’s in-house rock band") but it looks like most of the Ys I + II albums on vgmdb don't really indicate which version they might be.

My secret surprise is revealed!
I'm going to be uploading as many of these as I can - which should be all seven - but here's the first one to go up. The thing is, the MIDI data was already uploaded ages ago from these CDs - but no one uploaded the CD data which accompanied the MIDI data. This particular CD isn't my rip, so no log, but it's the only one that won't be a personal rip - the other ones will be.
This is important because not everyone owns MIDI sound modules to play these on, just emulators. It's always best to hear hardware recordings when it comes to this IMO.
Basically, these CDs are MIDI collections with the original MIDI data on them, but also have full recordings of the music being played on the actual MIDI modules in CDDA audio format, so both of these are included in these rips. These include the Yamaha XG, the Roland SC-88, and 24-tone tracks that are GM/GS-compliant.

If you want a recent release, XSEED released Brandish: The Dark Revenant for PSP in 2015. It's an old PSP game, but it's a complete 3D remake of the original game.
Brandish isn't nearly as well known as other Falcom franchises outside Japan, but it's relevant nonetheless. I have a shitload of Brandish music on the pastebin in my signature which I've also posted on this forum.

Do you mean a blu ray drive? I used one for a while. LG BE14NU40, great little drive, very capable and built like a tank. Unfortunately a few weeks ago a used disc managed to explode in it and that was enough to take it out. Amazon has yet to deliver my replacement :)
If you mean an actual standalone blu ray player like you'd integrate into a home theater then I dunno... historically speaking there haven't been more than a handful of devices that have been capable of ripping discs. Especially not as well as you'd like them to.

I have a standalone LG Blu-Ray player that does rip CDs. However, it's very limited (you're stuck with one audio format) so I'd never use it. I just thought it was cool, so I thought I'd ask if anyone else had one.

That really sucks to hear. I've never had a disc shatter in a drive and I hope I never do. I'm glad Amazon is replacing it for you though. However, yeah, I have an LG Blu-ray player that does and I think there are some Samsung players that will. Like you said though they are very limited in ripping capabilities so you'd never want to use them.

Anyone still got the Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire Original Soundtrack (
http://vgmdb.net/album/1024)? Link in OP redirects to nothing lol
Either that or Discs 5 and 6 from the OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire album, which are the same. Thank you!

Alright guys, on an unrelated note...
I went to check my personal MEGA account today and tried to upload an album for someone, but got the message "your MEGA storage is full, please upgrade to PRO". I'm currently subscribed to Vegeta's folder, so this is probably the cause. Anyone with work-arounds, or know of any fast file-hosters that won't shoot down links quickly?
Cheers!

@NCFirebolt21
Well, I was looking in this situation just now and frankly, only direct download via browser will work now in this kind of situation.
That means no copying, no creating links, etc.
So I suggest that you create a new account just for Vegeta's shared folder and then use it as a direct download source.
(Also, you could do the same for your upload side, having an account just for it.)
Now if someone know a real workaround by using a specific application to access the "shared folders" without using mega's website, I'm all ears =D

This was the issue with my account. I ended up severing my connection with Vegeta's account, and got my storage back. Not sure about other file hosts, but not of my files have been removed from 4Share, and Zippyshare would also be a good bet.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, I'll just make a new account exclusively for uploads. :)
Zippyshare unfortunately has this nasty webcam hijack malware pop-up the moment you click on the "download now" button. :/

Whelp, I don't think she/he'll answer you though but hey, if you're patient,
I was planning on uploading most of all MeiQ's soundtracks in FLAC on a dedicated thread this week.
It strangely took priority on my update of Mass Effect -that I'll do just after though-.
The Upload's speed here isn't the best (100kb/s top) but it will be done during the week~

Hi, i downloaded the album "[1998.12.03] [SLPS-01801] Ridge Racer High Spec Version [Wav⁄Cue⁄Log]" from this post:
Thread 126974
However, unlike other albums offered in the same format (Wav+Cue file) i can't mount it, burn it on a disc or extract the single audio tracks. It gives me an error with just any program.
How am i supposed to use it? Am i forced to listen all the tracks consecutively? Please help me, thanks.
Delete these lines in the cue and it will work
