Its just a personal taste or opinion of mine not to keep devices that don't fit inside a pocket.

I came across Gadget years ago, its name seemed silly at the time so the game was dismissed quickly. Then somehow I heard that the writer of Half-Life was involved in creation of this unusual surreal japanese adventure, and got around reading HG101 and CoreGamer articles. It certainly picked up my interest. And now it's gonna take another few years before I get the settings for DosBox right, to actually play it.

Sometimes it can just be a bad time to do anything on a host site.
Baidu will work perfectly for me 90% of the time, but I do get days where 8 hours later, I'm only 60MB in and froze.

Did you just go online, pick the most expensive parts then put them together or are you really going to buy it? Cuz that's at least 2500$ and 64GB of ram is just insane!!

Well what I normally do atm is.. 1. Rip Music with EAC ( :D ) .. 2. Stream on Twitch in 720p ( can't do 1080p with a gtx 460 lol. Have a hard time enough with just 720p). I also encode blurays to 1080p mkv files using handbrake (this is where the cpu power is needed.. the CPU btw is 6 cores, but with hyperthreading so 12 threads, and yes it out performs the 8core from AMD, the only other processor higher than this one is the i7 4960X). Also some games like Crysis 3 on max settings even with this build would only reach maybe 60 fps tops. And yes the K stands for unlocked, and the motherboard comes with special software to fine tune it exactly how I want it. There is even a switch on the motherboard to automatically overclock it, and still keep it in safe values.. if I choose to do that anyway. Either way.. I'll be zipping and unzipping .rar files at the speed of Instant Transmission :D

Wow, I'm quite surprised by this soundtrack. Especially since it's from a homebrew game. The music sounds very RPG-y (16-bit era, but obviously a better sound quality), but sometimes it also has a very distinct '80's (pop) synth quality about it. I already love the battle themes to pieces and my favorite (so far) is the Ruins track, very atmospheric and poignant...really a kind of track that gets you into a kind of dreamy/reflective state (hard to explain :p).....great stuff!!

BTW....this is the high quality version of the music not the Genesis/Mega Drive FM synth music. Plus on the picture here you can see that this is supposed to be a 4-disc set, but 3 discs can be found here for download. That's because the 4th disc is the special Sega CD/Mega CD that can be used in conjunction with the Genesis cartridge to get the better quality music. It's the same music that's on the other discs.

64GB of RAM is a waste; unless you're running memory-intensive VMs as a server or something like that, the bulk of it will literally just sit there and never be used. 16GB would probably be overkill for your purposes, unless you're running a RAM disk or some other edge case.

This is just my opinion...

- You should get 32GB or 24GB of ram since you’re getting an SSD. 64GB won't be very useful. 64GB of ram is more for servers.
- If 256GB is enough storage for your main HDD, to store your user accounts, document, pictures, installed programs etc., then I would get one only 256GB and a 3 or 4TB hard drive to dump the rest (big files like movies, games and FLAC soundtracks). If you will be encoding 1080p movies and playing games then you'll need a lot of disk space. (Remember that next gem games will require more disk space.)
- H100i cooler.
- Remember that faster ram make almost no difference. I have 16GB 1866 memory and your 2400 might have a 3%< increase in performance which IN NO WAY will you see the benefits (exempt +3% faster unzipping) plus your ram is way more expensive. You’ll maybe get a 0.1 FPS increase in your games too.

It honestly sounds like your building more of a server than a computer for personal use.

The 4xxx series is Haswell, not Ivy Bridge. Ivy Bridge is the 3xxx line, released in 2012.

Why this much RAM? Unless you're running some sort of super-server in the background, this is beyond overkill.

The 4930k is Ivy Bridge-E. Buying that much RAM is definitely a waste of money. 8GB -16GB should be plenty. OCZ also recently released their Vertex 460, which is marginally faster than the 450.

16-24 Go of ram is enough indeed. Unless you plan on making a huge ramdisk for games or smthing of the sort. Then 48-64 Go isn't too much !

The time remaining fluctuates from 20 hours remaining, to 100 hours, and at one point it even said I had 1200 hours remaining. o_O

Anyone have an idea what might be wrong?

There is a reason why the call me....The Buttplugger.

If Mega is usually fast for you, then just be patient, there have been times they've been normal and so slow that it would make Rapidshare blush. Optimal speeds usually return in a few hours to 1-2 days.

You might want to just ditch vBulletin for some better forum solutions. It'll save a hell lot of money (from both vBulletin itself and possibly the hosting service too) so we can shut the whole site and ask for donations much less frequently.

A technically more efficient software costs less bandwidth, storage space and other computational resources then what we have at the moment, allowing us to switch to a cheaper hosting plan. I'm not sure if you guys are brave enough to try a latest and greatest Node.js + NoSQL forum straightaway, but there're other traditional PHP solutions superior to vBulletin of course.

Now my actual question does anyone know where the temp Mega files will be with Internet Explorer? i checked where i though they may be in appdata/local but nothing. I don't know about where they are stored in IE sorry, but you can use jdownloader to download from mega too, what i use.

I was having some problems/issues with MEGA and firefox until I downloaded the MEGA extension for Firefox it fixes the memory leakage on Firefox, and now I can download everything without any problem/issue. I hope it helps!

Ok for some reason they work if i pause then resume after starting.. i use a 3rd party extension in Seamonkey/Firefox called iMega which stops the files being stored in appdata. ie only one copy like a normal download. Still havent found where it is with IE, wonder if it even works the same way.

I used to use jdownloader but all my security applications kept flagging it so since my fresh OS install, i just dont use it anymore.

You might get quicker results PMing alexfilth for that.

^ ? If my maths are right: if you upload speed is 100Ko (Kilo-octet) per second and these are a 2 CD set (so hardly more than ~800MB FLAC total, though more is possible), it should take around 2.5 hours, not much more.

I was trying to find the first one in lossless a couple of days ago.

Just 5 more days til it comes out.

I just downloaded the archives for disc 1 and 2 and the password is ffshrine. You need to re-download them, probably they got corrupted or didn't finish downloading.
I guess it's another problem with different rar-versions. Which tool do you use for extracting? On my side it's the latest 7zip-version (v9.32), so I guess that's the issue. I redownloaded the files and there are bit identical to the ones I already had. Anyways, I already dl'ed the missing discs from another source. so thank you and the other users for the help.

This isn't entirely VGM, but still very much related to Persona (and similar music, plus the same composer etc). But do you, by any chance, have the Persona Animation soundtracks in Lossless (or anyone else)?? I'm not too fond of the way they released these (separated over 9 or 10 CD's as a bonus with the DVD/BD sets).

I have been contemplating getting them, but I think it's a bit of a pain collecting all these separate sets (plus I already own the series on blu-ray).

Actually, it was released on FLAC and I had found it at the time through the BitGamer torrent tracker; I don't have it anymore since I lost it a year or so ago when my HD stopped working so I unfortunately can't help you there.

It works fine for me as well.
He needs to either try downloading with another internet browser (Firefox with the Mega plugin) or
try a program called Megadownloader v0.82.

Thanks for the Persona bonus CD's.
I use JDownloader to get things from Mega, what I like about it is that with it I'm sure the unencrypted files are deleted since they don't go in a temporary folder deep in my HDD.
BTW, when quoting, remove the Image links it wastes a lot of space.

I need some help with two files i found on the net which contains DJ Max Portable 3 Soundtrack, I'm failing to extract the flac files due to the passwords, they are in Japanese and have Kanji which may itself be the issue. WinZip itself mentioned that i shouldn't use non ASCII characters when trying.

I've used kanji passwords multiple times and never had issues with them.

It's more likely that the password really is wrong.

I should note the comments on various sites are split with people complaining the passwords dont work, with people trying to help giving the same passwords (and obvious instructions) and people outright saying thanks. Hmm, all sites were in chinese if that helps at all.

Here's an odd ball. This isn't game music per se, but any hardcore retro gamer will know Takahashi Meijin from the Adventure Island games and as being able to do 16 shots a second in Star Soldier. He released an album and some singles in Japan and here's the compilation of them. He's a real icon of Japanese 80s gaming. For years after, he was also a higher-up at Hudson Soft before they folded.

And also, I'd really, really would love to include scans, but I don't have a scanner. Take it as it is please!

Thank you, very, very much. I thought I'd never find this one. By the way, it is game music, some songs are inspired by Hudson games and events and anim� specials and some used arranged music from the games. I think Takahashi left Hudson before the company closed. Hudson was part of a conglomerate formed by Takara Tomy, Tatsunoko Pro and Konami but I'm not sure how the properties are handled today as none of the games for download (WiiWare, XBLA or PSN) are down and still have Hudson as the game maker.
Can you beat 16 shot? I wish I could get one of those Hudson button-presses counters, I wonder if the one in Adventure Island for WiiWare is as accurate.

Thank you. I was actually constantly on the verge of just importing these myself, but finally googled one last time and voila, some guy ripped and uploaded all three at the very, very end of 2013. Saved me a ton of money, and I get to finally have all the Special Boxes.

Note: some of the tracks in these three are actually 'lost tracks' and songs never put into the final game, not just different arrangements that appear nowhere else.

Note #2: Discs 1 and 2 of '96 and Disc 1 of '97 are Japanese 'audio drama' CDs, meaning they're not game music at all and essentially worthless unless you know Japanese. Only Disc 3 of '96 and 2 and 3 of '97 are actual music, and while it's good music, it's an indicator of the times they were made, through having to fill up the other discs with audio dramas.

When Falcom started running into financial troubles around 1996 and 1997, they discontinued the practice of creating these box sets of music, all the way until 2004 with Ys 6, which is why there's a very large gap.

edit: Because my bandwidth gets anally violated when uploading, I'll post '97 tomorrow and leave it to upload overnight.

Something old (1997) and something new (2014) this time. The Game Boy Gallery Musics was a requested rip by PM and I thought I should share it here as well. The first CD contains the original Game Boy tracks and the second CD contains arrangements of every track from the first CD (or as it's called in the CD info "Special Arranged Masters"). Actually, I believe it is on the disc itself. If you look at the Matrix Number.. it should be NTDT-17290
