Does anyone have Sonic Rivals 1 and 2 in lossless? Or Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood? Still looking for Pokemon Ranger Guardian Signs, too.

I hope I am getting the best quality. They're mini2sf converted to wav and then flac (used this Rip your own DS Music - General Chit-Chat - Dragon's Den Community (http://www.woodus.com/forums/?showtopic=15448) to get the mini2sf files from the ROMs) and I am aware that a MIDI rip would be much more clear but I don't know if they will all be accurate.

Lol! alc123 is right! MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) files are to be imported into writing programs like Sibelius. They just have instructions on what note each instrument plays, etc.

Oh darn, my bad! I was thinking of GBA MIDI+2SF soundtracks, which I remember another user claiming them to be inaccurate. I have a soundtrack myself and a few of the tracks don't sound 100% normal. But yeah, it's good to know MIDI+2SF ripping is possible for DS games!

As for knowing about the quality of my FLACs compared to mini2sf... Of course I do o.o and it does sound clearer than any mp3 soundtrack I've found.

Be advised, obviously I cannot cater to every person's preferences. This is intended to be an extended edition. If the original release sounds satisfactory to you then by all means I do not dissuade you from listening to that at all, and this version is more than likely not for you.

Here is my custom Extended Edition version for Alice: Madness Returns. At first I reckoned this to be a simple and brief project, which quickly turned on its head when I realized the tracks were not that simple to loop. Some tracks required multiple cross-fades over different streams to get a seamless listening experience. It was only after several tries I honed my experience with this, since you also have to listen to the music slightly differently to see where a loop might be possible. I also ensured to keep the original endings of each track intact since they were more than just simple fade outs.

I used the “Alice: Madness Returns Original Videogame Soundtrack (http://vgmdb.net/album/26020)” published by “E.A.R.S.” as a reference for this release. Sadly there is not other official lossless release I could work with. Almost all the tracks are looped. While it still fits on one disc, its more than twice the length of the original edition.

I copied the track “Madness” a second time near the end of the album since this track is not looped in the game but returns several times for the final cutscenes.

As always the art should be of high enough resolution for printing.

Everything was accomplished with Audacity (Audacity: Free Audio Editor and Recorder (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/)).

The answer is I am lazy and it takes too long, and my computer is old and outdated and uploading like that takes up a large chunk of CPU and RAM and adds a layer of headache that often deterred me from uploading anything in the past. Torrents are fast and easy and torrent programs are superbly engineered to use low system resources and frankly superior to ftp downloads in nearly every way, from usability to reach and longevity, etc. - except in bandwidth-choked countries.

This is only the case for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time with the tracks I did not touch in any way. Who in the hell decided it was a good idea to resample the tracks anyway? It was so long ago I downloaded this album... So, in other words--the sources I used for looping were also resampled. I do not like to swear, but I think that in this case it would be appropriate. I am going to have to re-do the bulk of the soundtrack... what a load of...

Anyway, thank you for noticing--this will be fixed as soon as possible.

I've been meaning to get this album for a while now, as I've been a big fan of Zone of the Enders music since the first game came out (The other incentive being I couldn't find a lossless rip of it anywhere). The holiday season was the opposite of kind to me, as I intended to get the ReBOOT EDITION as well, but saw that as a poor financial decision for the time being. Anyhow, for those of you who already have the ReMIX EDITION, this version features the Daigo Kawai remix of Vivid Transparency, otherwise you'll have all the other tracks already. Definitely a track worth listening to if you haven't heard it.

Funny story how I came upon this album:


A couple years ago I heard (what I know know as) the track chaos crawler. It was some youtube video with the track playing with a still of the album art featured. I recall occasionally rewatching the video to hear the track, and before too long the video must have got delete or removed cause it disappeared off the net. I totally misremembered the name of the album. I thought it was Megalomania or Megalomaniac (cause those are proper words). So after some fruitless searching I eventually gave up and cursed myself for not just tracking down the music sooner.
So... years later, here I am. I saw someone here on the shrine post Ragnarok Online BGM Arrange Collection (http://vgmdb.net/album/35709). I'm re-tagging the tracks (cause I like to see a little bit more information on composers and such). I'm kinda second guessing the info on the vgmdb page for the album so I decide to check the booklet scans to see what's written there.

It must be properly-tagged (don't leave them as their source filename (i.e. "file0001") but give them a name one can associate with the game somehow.) Don't be afraid if your naming scheme or the artist information are wrong, anything is better than just providing the extracted files as-is.

I would go through them myself but I do not have the games myself so I can't correct them. Please reupload all of these except Sonic Pocket Adventure (the filenames are fine on that one) with proper filenames.

Oh, is that so? I'm sorry, I don't have time to tag them all. I only shared them because they DO NOT exist on the Internet ANYWHERE else in FLAC. I'd greatly appreciate it if you or someone else were to tag them and reupload them, though!
I'll put a disclaimer in the post so people know most of the albums aren't tagged/named properly. I hope I'm not forced to remove them, since, like I said, they don't exist anywhere else.

Well... I guess I really don't have anything else to post, then. As far as KitN~SoS, I've read several reviews that said SoS was all you really need if you listen to Game Music for the sake of the music, that the additional tracks on the other albums are easily a full rank below the tracks on SoS (which is why I didn't get a copy of it.

Well, while I'm at it, I'm trying to track down all the Sting OST's (Unison, Blaze, Gloria Union, Gungnir) as well as a soundtrack that, while not a video game, has been hell to track down in anything above 192kbps (I just got my headphone amp/DAC and my Sennheiser HD 650's... which don't need a preamp if I'm running it through my Steinberg UR44) - Project A-ko: Original Soundtrack. I'd love to find the whole set in lossless, but I'm primarily concerned with the first OST.

#1 I'll take and collect ANYTHING involving Knights in the Knightmare, version doesn't matter because they were all great.

It's hard for me to say anything about this game without going into a fan-crazed monologue... so I'll try my best to keep this concise.

Umineko no naku koro ni is an unreasonably good game.

The music was the hook, I figured out what it belonged to, figured out what a visual novel was... BOOM!
Been into the genre ever since. It goes to show that Umineko is still the best one I've read, and is one of the most inspiring literary works I've read to date. The game features some 200-or so tracks, and they're scattered among MANY CD releases.
Best get started!

As far as I can tell, there never was any controversy over that song.

Nintendo just changed it themselves because they discovered that the chant could be of muslim origin and removed it since they have some policy about real world religions.

So I had a hard drive fail on me a few months ago, and while I do make habits of backing certain things up, I can't possibly cover all of the music I've got. So there were some casualties... (could whine and complain about this, but I'm sure this has happened to everyone at one point or another)

Fuck yes, I have been wanting some type of Final Fight 3 soundtrack for a long time.

I ordered this album just now too.

Ripping isn't an issue, well... its half the problem as ripping some recent disks have taken 3hrs 'a' disc. The metadata is complex. Here are some obstacles I encounter:

•MusicBrainz & freedb never get tags right only VGMdb works partially.
•The artists names
•symbols
•integrity check sum's (have not seen a program handling Unicode),
•FLAC or APE files not recognizing Japanese text or symbols. after enconding. I get "?" s instead of the assigned proper characters.
•And lastly a current obsession of playing Age of Empires III skirmish modes


So I'm trying guys just need some time, that's why I don't give ETA's to avoid disappointments.

I'll look into that maybe its the settings I have configured. Also I meant character support for the MD5 file generator.

MD5 has been utilized in a wide variety of cryptographic applications, and is also commonly used to verify data integrity.
Basically to verify you have the original uploaders files and know when someone has tampered your shit. Just can't find one with Japanese or Special character support.

@Neo Chip => Try CHK, it seems to handle unicode file names and supports all kinds of checksum algorithms.
I got it from the forums at encode.ru (compression enthusiasts and programmers)

And buying it from the source helps them as well as copyright holder. I understand why it's not allowed to be shared, but I could come up with 3 arguments on the top of my head that would be in favor of posting it. Strange, I'm currently at my max upload speed on MEGA (106 KB/s).

Did you tried some others DNS ? like Google DNS or OpenDNS ? maybe your network provider is limiting mega ? (like one of a french internet provider ) ? or maybe its just some MEGA servers that are busy at certain moment of the day ?

Small note, I have no idea what happened on track 24. Doesn't match the accurip database, but audibly it sounded fine to me. I can verify it's the original CD by the catalog number on the bottom of the CD, so I dunno what happened. If it's a problem, I can try re-ripping it and see what happens.

People hoard and sell Club Nintendo pins. This in of itself is relatively harmless except Club Nintendo doesn't exist to give you free things, or reward something trivial as "loyalty." Club Nintendo's true goal is harvesting metadata by getting people to voluntarily provide feedback in exchange for cheap trinkets, so Nintendo's marketing team can go on to deliver better marketing in order to improve the successful sales of current and future games or merchandise. Think of it as nearly-free focus-grouping on a wide scale on personal levels.

Ebay hoarders, or hoarders in general threaten to disrupt the accuracy of Nintendo's data collecting. By abandoning Club Nintendo all together and start fresh with a new rewards system, Nintendo effectively makes the stockpiles of hoarded codes useless, and will be able to pursue other interests or just start fresh.

I can see how eliminating source of false marketing data is probably a factor, but I'm being hopeful that maybe in some weird way, Club Nintendo was holding Nintendo back as far as providing online-services is concerned. I'm hoping its to transition Nintendo-of-things into one streamlined entity like PSN

Vegeta, there's a strange "break" in track 09 of disc 3, exactly at 01:55, in BoneSatyr's rip. Could you check it with your copy to see if it's an error or normal on the CD? It's the best track of FF3, so... :)

I can assure you there wasn't any problem ripping the CD. I bought my copy directly from Clarice Disc, where it was released December 20th last year. All other stores started selling the album on January 24th. I guess there is a very small chance that they fixed the problem with the track for the "normal" release, but they have yet to mention anything about that on their official site. If they fixed anything they would probably inform their customers about it and send out a replacement disc, like with the broken Final Fantasy track, or the Kingdom Hearts mono track.

Yes, I can hear the error, but it's such a tiny problem that I hadn't noticed it until it was mentioned now. My guess is that Clarice Disc didn't notice the error before they sent it off to the manufacturer.

No need, I just downloaded Vegeta's and there's indeed the same little distortion, like a little piece of the track was removed. I think it's nothing that cannot be solved by copy and pasting the previous second, so if everyone is ok with it, I will edit it and upload that.

Update: Nope. I checked and there's a little instrument going on that wouldn't sound right. Oh well, guess it's gonna be a problem with the transfer itself. Maybe there's another lossless source that could be used?

Thanks to BoneSatyr and AFMG, for putting efforts to answer my question so fast. My doubt was about the OST itself, if the music is really like that in the official release. It's no big deal, since I can listen to the SPC, and I didn't noticed any HUGE difference between its sound and the OST version. Thanks AFMG for the effort in editing the track, it's really flawless. Would someone mind (re)uploading the Grandia and Lunar 2: Eternal Blue (Sega CD) soundtracks? The Grandia soundtrack leads me to a website my browser says it�s suspicious. The soundtrack to Lunar 2 for the Sega CD only has the voice dubs and not the actual soundtrack itself.

The Sega CD version. The Saturn and Playstation soundtracks have already been uploaded here. Lunar 2: Eternal Blue Complete is a remake of the original for the Sega Cd. The title for the original version is Lunar - Eternal Blue. My mistake. I should not have put that 2 in that quote.
