I'm sure you've read when I said "I know that everyone have problems...", so I surely knew that this was a possibility. However, I think you didn't think in two things. First is to clear up the fact that you can't pay one dollar in this song, and you're kindly asking if someone can in your post. That detail could really help to convince someone to fulfill your request. I entered the link to see if I could help searching it when you posted the first time, but when I saw the price and read your post again, sounded like a really jerkish request. Second, if I were you, I'd contact the artist, explain the situation and see if I could pay in other ways, like sharing his page on my Facebook, videos, anyway. The Ecco the Dolphin and Ecco: The Tides of Time Sega CD soundtracks are pretty good. The fan-site Caverns of Hope has the soundtracks to both in FLAC.

Well I did get the new tracks with the 1.0.8 update, there are 18 new tracks. Some Kirby from the N64 Smash, and new remixes and Ken and Ryu Stages plus Rhythm Heaven songs. I had flacs with the internal names and tagged them myself from the ingame jukebox. But I may not have the same tagging guidelines as the thread...

There are no news for the newest stages (Hyrule Castle) as far I know though.

Thank you. Cue files are important if you're looking to create a 1:1 copy of the original disc, since it contains the gap information as well as what order the tracks are played. It's a completionist thing.

I'll keep that in mind, I usually just kept them around from rips I downloaded but I didn't see the significance when they were already split from a single large audio file. I made them for my other rips in the past, I just didn't think they were super important. Thanks for the info though :)

If FFshrine goes, its going to be like the fall of Rome. Not just something you can overcome by traveling to the next town over. As they say; ROME WAS NOT BUILT IN A DAY! :)

I know, but just a reminder, Gravitrek is not only focused on sharing OST. After the update, Studio and Home will be here too, with those sections, you will be able share/participate in mod, ost, artbook, remastering project, translation etc....

Gravitrek will become a game "hub", where you can share/archiving everything about games, well, that's my plan. :p

Well, you know what I'm talking about. Doesn't want to bring back the drama here, but clearly, I don't see any future plan in ffshrine, because all the site about sharing (and even archiving) games I know have evolved since, they have better functionality, clear administration, and even those big one have monthly chat between members/admin.

About ffshrine, well, this forum survive only by his members, nothing else. In Gravitrek, we will get better indexing feature (like vgmdb but deeper), better security for links (no need to get a hidden links provider), internal storage for pictures/video/song (with some limit off course), links will not require .rar/.zip upload anymore (well thx Home for that, you will be able to download from file to file or complete one in .zip), private member sharing by storage place (like Vegeta and many film uploader, but in simpler way, thx Home again) etc....


I'm sorry, I still love FFShrine (well, more the community than the site itselft), but, this boat is dam too old, and nobody from the administration desire to help that damn boat, no update, no perspective plan, nothing, nothing will move, and all the recurrent problems (indexing, sharing, donation, invisible sarah etc... will still continue to raise and appear, again and again.....).

For Archiving, I will not reinvent the wheel (well, only security and storage optimization will be really innovative), some site I know already use some tech and tips for archiving games, animes and artbook, as for myself, I plan to archiving everything related to games, artwork, game cover, ost, manual etc....

But at the moment, I'm the only one to know how will work Home, Quore, Core and Studio (well some people on Xentax know a bit about Studio thought...), and that's normal, copyright hunters are everywhere, watching your internet ! :p

Is there some easy way to convert the cue files (which in this case are made for a range rip) into cue files for split tracks (since the tracks are split, but the cue is not). I only know how to manage a range rip with a range rip cue, but not when they're mixed like this.

Could someone Re-upload Xenoblade Chronicles main soundtrack if it is not to much to ask? The main link and both mirrors are dead.

I already did. I signed up at Gravitrek yesterday and when I last checked the site it is still updating yet...

Well, I have got a lot of MP from uploaders (from here and others forum) waiting the update to be fully applied before uploading in the site.
Also, the security/hidden feature used for download links will bring more uploaders to the site. =)

The problem does not only come from the "donation"; it's a global problem, including many "other things".
Also, be aware that gravitrek was existing before this "drama" occurred, and my original plans was exactly like it is now, creating a "game hub", not just a OST sharing place. :p

Although I'm not entirely sure, the admin said something that a solution has been put in place to make sure it doesn't happen again. Whether it holds water or not, I don't know, but we haven't had any such incidents since the last one. I think people should chill on bailing unless the "donations" event happens again.

You can also run it in wine in linux for that matter, though i think linux has ways to convert tracks internally on some distros.

ALAC doesn't have a dedicated FileName, .M4A is the Format for ITunes Lossless ;)

That's highly inaccurate. The MP4 standard only has .mp4 as the official filename extension, and it's just common practice to rename it .m4a for audio-only files. It can contain either AAC or ALAC.

A REALM REBORN: FINAL FANTASY XIV Original Soundtrack

This came from a Bluray Audio Disc. Basically the files were in video form, just demuxed them, and put the lossless WAVs on a FLAC container.

the X-2 re-release is just cd not bluray. so it should be uncompressed audio

When given the option I would prefer personal rips from the people here.

just out of curiosity, What did you use to demux them. I typically use MKVToolix GUI, MKVCleaver, Or MKVMerge GUI when Muxing/Demuxing (which one depends on what im doing)

I tried AJ Vented Designer 2.0, but it's asking for specifications that aren't provided in the pdf I linked to, and I really don't know where to find the required specs for this driver (can't find the Qts, Vas, Dp or Pmax). Any help is much appreciated!

Well, the FFX HD remaster and the FFXIV soundtracks are actually videos (to prevent piracy I believe). What I did to rip both of my FFXIV soundtracks (works for movies and any other type of media too) is the next:

1.- Run Anydvd to remove disc protection
2.- Find within the disc the files you want (usually on STREAM)

3.- Use TSMuxer to demux the files (separates everything (subs, audio, video)), select only the audio file.

4.- Put the TSMuxer output in the container/format you prefer.

One look at the log and I can see it is exactly my rip, and exactly my scans. I don't give a shit if people repost my stuff in other places, I just think it's rude to download a personal rip from this forum, then reupload at the exact same forum and take credit for another users work. I thought we at least had some respect for each other at this place. So far I've made 1103 scans this year, and probably spent close to 1000 hours scanning (1200dpi), and editing in PhotoShop, just so that people can get the best possible quality of the artwork. Taking credit for that work is what annoys me, not the reposting of an album I shared willingly.

The log isn't edited, it is my exact .log file. File names and tags were edited, and some files deleted, like the .cue for whatever reason. I'm not unreasonable, I just think we could acknowledge that we downloaded something from another user on this very forum if we pass it along. Perhaps I'm old-fashioned, but I grew up with pirate group releases who were all very careful to mention everywhere that it was they who had distributed the release. I try to keep that to a minimum myself, but I use the same naming-scheme I have for the last 15 years. Rename files all you want (everyone has their own preference), just mention that you got it from another user on this very forum.

He did not explicitly boast that he ripped the album, but in my mind when you post something in this thread, it's either because you ripped it yourself, or because you found it on some other forum nobody heard of and posts it here because nobody else has it. Either way, you get credit for ripping it, or tracking down the album. Maybe you feel differently.

Just as a side note, would you appreciate if you spent a week at your job working hard with whatever it is you do, only to have someone you don't know swoop in and take credit for it at the end of the week, making it look like you have done nothing but sleep the entire time? I doubt many do. You probably feel that is an entire different situation since all we're doing is distributing things we don't own, but given the amount of time I spend on a single rip, it feels like a full-time job at times. I could rip 30 albums as range rips to a single .wav file, and upload it as-is, in the same time it would take me to properly finish one album, with tags and scans. Maybe I should just stop trying so hard, then I wouldn't have a reason to care.

I don't keep the source of the stuff I have and even delete cue/logs because I honestly don't care. That won't stop me to just randomly fill some requests in the future because imho, sharing is the point.

I completely agree with the points you've made. Logi should either have quoted your post if he wanted to fill a request, which is what I've done in the past when someone requested an OST that has been uploaded just a few pages back, or host it on his own MEGA but give you credit for the rip. I personally would feel like I'm stealing (ironic, eh?) from the uploader if I just don't say anything and pretend I ripped the OST myself. Plus, now he looks bad because you called him out on it.

Cue is useless to some people when the rip is already split. Renamed tracks as per his personal preference. Most likely doesn't keep track of where he got a rip (I know I don't). Why would he think to check the log to see where it came from?

I will put 'selfrip' on something if I ripped it myself. Sorry if it made you mad. All I did to check if people posted was to check the opening post of this thread, Ctrl+F "lagrange point" no results, OK time to post it.

If I split a flac+cue into multiple files, I don't really see the point in keeping the original cue file around (since the purpose of a cue file isn't for accuracy or identity checking, it's just to point a media player at parts of a single file, I would have needed to change the cue file anyway when I retagged it with the translations I spent an afternoon assigning after bugging some Japanese friends for interpretations of the extra track names) - if I really wanted to 'hide' its origins I would have deleted the log file, too, it's still there.

I only do image rips. Image rips are the most perfect replication of a CD you can make. They're one beautiful continuous stream of audio with an index, just like the original disc.

I do usually keep a duplicate split copy in mp3 for streaming, but for archiving perfection nothing beats the old flac/cue/log combo.

( and I sure hope by image rip you guys weren't referring to an .iso or something :D )

Hopefully someone on What.CD gets their hands on these and rips them in 24bit Lossless. I imagine the vinyl rips would be pointless even in 24-bit. As an example, when they started selling digital copies of Perfect Dark in lossless a couple of years ago, the music files just ended up being rips from the original CD and re-sold as a new format, not remastered, none of the background noise or defects cleaned up. So 24bit would likely just be unconverted from 16.
