Sorry, I can't provide anything. However, La-La Land Records are releasing an album with a ton of Family Guy score. Should be out fairly soon.

So, there I trot over to La-La Land. I email them.

I agree, Family Guy was fantastic from Seasons 1 all the way through to 11. But they're running out of ideas now and they're just not original or anywhere near as funny anymore.

I wouldn't know, I haven't ever watched to see full seasons straight. The stand-up episodes I've seen of latest seasons were "meh" though.

Might Seth be losing his touch? I think he needs to step up and make better things. Or at least try to make Family Guy better.

It's not too hard, he's right, you're being lazy. If you really wanted you would. Ask Skelly, he knows how to. First get Audacity and a rip of the episode it's in, but not a internet rip, it needs to be a .ac3 dvd rip. Then Skelly tells you the rest. Simple as.

When I've been interested, I've tried to do my own gamerips of soundtracks I've been interested. I'm still working on Epic Mickey. Both my gamerips and what you want to do, are time-consuming a bit, but if you really wanted it hard, you'd do it.

Same here. Well I do like JNH (Lady In the Water is one of my absolute favorites of his) but I never saw After Earth so I don't know what I'm missing. It's not something I've been clamoring for.

I am not a huge JNH fan, i dont mind peter pan and a couple of others.

While I'm not a huge fan of some of his more recent work, JNH is still one of my favorite composers. Defiance, The Fugitive, Peter Pan, Hidalgo, The Village, King Kong, Lady in the Water, Blood Diamond, and of course Nolan's BB and TDK with HZ are all excellent.

Oh, and Salt and The Tourist also have very good scores... :p

Yes but unlike Sulley I've seen Star Wars, Lawrence of Arabia, The Godfather Trilogy, Ben-Hur and most of the classics. My reason for never having seen Braveheart is that I was holding out for the Blu-ray, which I now own. But I have to plan ahead for a historical epic film like that. I need days in advance to plan for it. I need a day (or two) off work, because I'm always so exhausted. I need the time, energy, and focus to watch a film like that. I can't even tell you how many years passed by the time I finally saw The Godfather, and I'd had the trilogy for a while by that point. I can't just one day randomly up and decide "you know what, I'm gonna watch Braveheart!!" I need to plan.

I've got nothing against Mel Gibson. Yeah, he went on a racist-filled rant but doesn't everyone get a second chance? Unless he already got one and blew it lol. The Passion is a great film and Gibson is a terrific actor. I would say Riggs from Lethal Weapon is my favorite character of his. And it's not that I don't want to see Braveheart, it's just the timing. I'd watch it this week if I had a day off, but my 2 days off are for my cousin's wedding this coming weekend. But believe me, I will watch it. And I'll have to watch it with my brother (who's seen it), it's the kind of movie I want to see with him.

And even though I already know how it ends and that it's not historically accurate (what Hollywood adaptation of any historical epic is ever accurate??), I know I will still enjoy it. Particularly Horner's score :)

While my project is exporting, I'm putting the outdoor space heater together for the patio in the backyard. And then setting up the new fire pit (and chucking the old one)

Cleaned my binoculars. Preparing some weak lemon drink. Will put on anorak on. Soon. Hope it stays clear.

Unfortunately I don't have any binoculars with me. But I did do something very similar a while back with a camera and telescope/binoculars with some pretty good results.

I missed the blood moon. Went inside at the wrong moment. But it was sooo cold. Sigh... My family said it looked amazing.

I'm sorry to hear about your fish, Azetlor. I know how you must be feeling, although I'm not sure how close a human can get to a fish. My best friend Dusty (who I've spoken of here before) had a stroke the night before I left for uni and she was put down the day after I left, so I never got to truly say goodbye. But maybe it was better that way. I don't know. But I do know that I am going to miss her badly when I go back home in the holidays and she's not there to welcome me and take me for walkies. Even at such a respectable age, she was always full of fun and energy.

Beautiful. She was a beautiful dog.

Losing a fish is nothing compared to losing a dog. Nothing. I only care about fish so much because they fascinate me, I love watching how they swim and how they do certain things. But, it's a fish. It doesn't see me and start shaking its tail because it loves me and is excited, it just floats to the top when they see some movement outside the tank.
I have lost a dog, too. A long time ago. I know how it feels - it's not nice. I was nine when I had a dog and he passed away after suffering terrible injuries after getting run over by a car. I was too young to truly understand, but it is definitely a fragment in your life which it's hard to live without.

My point being, dogs are loyal pets, so loving of their owners. Fish... Well, once they've swam around the tank a few times they've forgotten everything which just happened.
I'm not really one for writing these types of things, either. I speak in really short sentences sometimes. I know it can be annoying, but I don't know what gets into me.

I feel you, bro. I've done that a few times and the end of my project kinda got like that. There's so much SFX and shit that it's hard to distinguish the score so I just kinda winged it.

But yeah remember our failed attempt at Iron Man? Lol. I also gave up on Transformers, which I was crushed over. That score means so much to me and it was hacked and edited to fit the film in such a way that a film mix is impossible :'(

Since there were.... complications... in creating a full score film mix of the movie I was doing, I instead
created a film mix of the song "Americano" solely from outside sources, so rather than being a blu ray edit,
this was created from album, soundtrack and sessions sources. It is a Film Mix of Lady Gaga's "Americano" from Puss in Boots.

Being my first film mix I've ever done of anything, I think it turned out really well, all things considered. There a small
section I am going to tweak the shit out of before it's finished, but all in all, it's damn near perfect to the original, if not better.
I even recorded my own Guiro and Cowbell for the end bit with the cats.

I'd love to get a film edit of Edge of Tomorrow. I even ripped my DVD 5.1 and started to compare just for fun (I don't have the time/skill to do an edit myself). The very first track is different than what is in the sessions released. Greeeaaaat...

Spent a day looking for most updated codecs/builds for encoding.

Found a decently fast build for LAME MP3 (GCC; not Intel or MS).
Fixed up quite a few new batch scripts to do massive jobs. Spent half the day reading up how to make the batch easier. Still needs works.

Updated QAAC because iTunes updated recently, and not just public release notes, but internal libraries updated that are required to do AAC encoding with QAAC command-line encoder.
Had to spend another half day going over and looking up why some AAC encodes get maximum peaks way over 1.x and then figure out a way to re-encode from source to get them down to sane levels.
I used all sorts of scanners, Foobar2000's ReplayGain scanner showed peaks over 1.x and used bs1770gain scanner for peaks.
Decided just to encode with a negative gain of 7dB to prevent peak overflow for final AAC.
People will just have to live with it.

Then I checked for updated FLACcl (formerly FLACcuda). Still the same, so I went ahead and converted with that.

Uploading 3 albums in 4 formats: FLAC (flacCL), AAC (QAAC; TVBR), MP3-CBR@320, MP3-VBR-0. With latest 3.995 LAME.
CBR does lowpass at 20.5 by default. VBR at 0 does not. For VBR-0, it will show -lowpass 22.1 but that's exactly half of 44.2 for stereo tracks.
In theory, CBR should sound "better" because the lowpass cut off a few ranges of frequencies thus allowing all other ranges (human ranges) to have more bitrate. :smrt:
In practice, only a few people will know the difference. You can google sound tests and check out the HydrogenAudio forums for more info on this phenomenon.

I prever VBR because there's no virtual difference and it's smaller.
I just made 320 because everyone seems to like it for insecure reasons.

I'm also comparing 8bit and 10bit encodes for the Hateful Eight trailer.
Also spent a lot of time going over formulas to get the right SAR right for proper 2.76:1 AR for playback.

I might just do an RGB conversion of the trailer.
Most video is provided in YV12. Which limits our picture resolution to be in multiples of 2/4/8/16.

For a 1080p with a 2.76:1 aspect ratio, the video would have to be:
1920x695 (because 1920/2.76 = 695.6521739130435)

For a 720p, it would be...
1280/2.76 = 463.768115942029
1280x463

695 & 463 are not divisible by (at least) 2.
So this becomes an illegal resolution for YV12 (or YV16/YV24)! :(
So we have to round up/down to nearest factor 2.
1920x696 (with slighest aspect ratio error!)
1280x464 (again AR error)

If we convert to RGB, then it doesn't matter what resolution is.
We can have 1920x695 and have exacgtly 2.76:1 as QT intended.

But, luckily, with x264, we can get past this with some tags when encoding.

The 8bit and 10bit look transparent to each other.
Now it's just a matter of having to drop quality settings to see much I can get away before it looks like crap.

So I'm also going over the things i need to update my laptop and get that running while I do stuff to do the rest of the conversions.

The only way you gain skill is by starting to do something. I would say my first experience was on my old laptop (Dell Insprion, ewwww) in Audacity (what I call the poor man's Audition). I attempted to make the film edit of 7m61-62 Set the Dogs On Me from TDK. This was long before I even had the thought to use the film's audio as a guide. And then I went from there. And as I did more, I got better at it.

What end credits is that?

Tomorrowland has sfx from the visual end credits in the first part.
But the text credits are clean of just music.

The final scene of the movie (where the "dreamers" find the pins) is all music, too. So I ripped right from the scene change where it starts with the hippy guitarist and edited from there.

Effectively, Tomorrowland can have 3 parts to rip for the ending.
I have to start part 3 and the convert it all.
Part 1 (the dreamers)
and Part 2 (end credits first half)
are done.

A proper Jurassic World is next. Real 7.1 and not the DTS core.

Waiting for TSN in 5.1 to finish uploading.

Finally found the folder that has The Social Network in 5.1/24/48.
It was originally 96kHz, but I downscaled to 48 because there was nothing beyond the normal range.

Played a lot with it for 5.1 AAC encoding.
For some reason, converting from WAV to AAC would produce peaks to flow over 1.x which can be really loud.
ReplayGain can easily remedy that by applying a negative gain to prevent clipping, but not all software/hardware supports RG.
So I compromised and set a negative gain of 7dB to encode the AAC. Will probably sound quieter. Depending on your system/speaker setup.
But it won't peak over 1.x anymore.

The FLAC turned out fine.

Also making some coffee so I can get ready to post a new upload.
Series 3 in 24/48.

I love the dramatic themes in this so much. The electric rock themes are catchy, but the dramatic themes are actually the strong points.
