Forget it.

Its just mr gold and his stupid head again.

It would do you well to work on thinking more positively. A lot of people in this world tend to only see the bad in things, I, am not the sort. I always try to see good in anything and everything, while still being realistic. This is call being optimistic.
I am most definitely not better than anyone else, this is how I tend to think. Good day. :)

I really wanted to do a scene from Shawshank, perhaps the escape scene, but we were allocated in groups and the majority vote in my group was the "sloth" scene from SE7EN. (If you're of a delicate disposition, or, like me, just don't like horror, don't look it up. Just take my word that it's disgusting and disturbing.)

I just watched two vids of the channel - the Chuck Jones, and the Buster Keaton one. I'm like.. I love these videos, but mostly I've taken a look at.. I love the idea of editing videos like that. I've always wanted, and wished, to make use of the music library I got on my HDD, to make something with music, like the guy did, putting BUDAPEST HOTEL music in the Buster Keaton short and fitting perfectly. I've always wanted to do some kind of videos that put an use to all my cool incidental music that I have. Something with editing..

That's really nice, you get to learn a lot about the behind the scenes - but it can be bad sometimes. Overanalyzing movies and all can make you realize the badly done things in a movie you like! :p that's why I'm glad I don't know much about music technologically, or about Blu-ray colors, or I'd hate most of the restorations I find astonishing. :P

Uh.. but.. I lack of anything at the moment to do such a thing. I only have a Windows Phone, and an iPod Touch which I have no charger atm. I have no camera. My iPod is good enough for a first try, but I really don't know what to do at all. And I lack the imagination and creativity at the moment (because of my extreme laziness..) I do appreciate the thought, but dunno how am I gonna be able to do it. I'd think I could try something with editing better, though I also lack programs for that.

I've been involved in home-made movies since i was 10. My cousin who lived across the street got a camcorder for his birthday and all the children in both families got together and immediately started making films. Over the next 8 or so years we eventually upgraded to a digital camera which allowed for editing the shots if we messed up lol. Overall I'd say we made at least 20 films (usually only 5-10 minutes each). Our longest though was a whopping 45 minutes! We had an absolute blast doing it. :D The plots were absolutely ridiculous though, and each of us usually had 2-3 characters who's only changing features were the costumes. hehe. Good times. :D

I got one that has 3 main features to it.
It has that, something about a dragon and then Fun & Fancy Free.
I know there's a disc version that has less or two main features.

The one I got has 5.1 DTSHDMA, but it sounds like it's mono/stereo upscaled to 5.1.
Dialogue in all channels, but just quieter. Like solid dialogue, not panning or anything.

I love the Ichabod cartoon so much. Grew up watching it every Halloween on TV as a kid.

I never knew the Mickey and Beanstalk sketch was called Fun & Fancy Free.
I love tha tone a lot too.

(12-bit video) 3D DCP trailer that's 1:47, converted to 16-bit .tif images... = 62 GB in total.
Nwo to convert them to a standard colorspace. These should be smaller, theoretically, since the colors have been converted to something smaller.

THEN to take those converted images and convert them into two separate video streams.

THEN to take those two videos and try make it a 3D trailer.

THEN take that trailer to my friend's house and see if they can play it.

If they can't, I blow up the computer.

Strict how, though? I actually do not know about how are they at the moment - will look at them one day, but I thought they were not strict enough when literally people out of nowhere are shooting up everyone because they can. Too bad, it's an interesting topic, actually.

It reminded me of just how bad we have it in Italy. One could say we have the opposite problem around here, in regards to what one can do to a "criminal" which enters his/her house and pose a danger to those who live in it. I surely would support a bit more freedom with firearms.

PonyoBellanote
12-07-2015, 08:51 PM
It seems to be an issue that is impossible to solve, specially with USA's mindset about guns.

I mean. I personally am no "anti gun" at all, I can understand some people's right to defend themselves and all, it's completely okay with me.

Just that americans completely abuse the guns and glorify them as the center of everything. You don't have a gun, you're simply no one for them.

It's okay, yes, it's a "right" in the "constitution" that everyone deserves a gun to defend themselves and all, yes, yes, but guns should not be given that easily to that "everyone" who wants to get a gun, because one of that "everyone" can be a murderer and we wouldn't know, with that "'murica freedom" definitely stricter gun laws wouldn't make all the murders stop and black market still exists, but it would make normal people that think of killing people not be able to get it easier. I dunno. Just what I said. Keep your guns, just do something about the murders, seriously.

the problem with gun control is that advocates dont see the entire picture.
their view: less guns means less shootings.
reality: if a deranged asshole wants a gun, they will obtain it. with less guns means more honest, law abidding citizens will be powerless in a shooting.

setting up a fictional example.

john doe is a person fed up with the system. his criminal record is clean. but his life turned bad. now all he thinks about is killing. so he grabs his semi auto rifle (imagine favorite rifle here) and goes to the nearby elementary school.
shenanigans ensue and thanks to one lone teacher who had a gun on him with a concealed weapon permit, managed to shoot the guy before his kill count could reach the double digits. authorities and the general public laud him a hero.

had he not had his legally obtained gun with him (his arguement: recent shootings made him bring his gun to school, for general protection), he would just be another victim.

i prefer a teacher having a gun and not need it, than needing it and not have it.

Dearest Marie,

As the war ends for me,
I have no regrets.
I have seen too much horror.
I hope fate has been more merciful to you.
Our time on Earth is brief,
And mine has been filled with so much joy.
That I can only be thankful
For how much I've been blessed.
Most specially... For the wonder
You brought into my life.
This letter will be my last.
I've been found guilty
By a military court, for the death of an officer.

It was not my intention to kill him.
War makes men mad.
Though I failed Karl,
I know my sacrifice has not been in vain.

I fought for my country
And my liberty.
My honour is assured.
Since it is the will of God
To separate us on Earth,
I hope we'll meet again in heaven.

Your loving Papa.
Always.

Free cookie for whoever gets that reference.
No matter how many times I see the ending, I always tear up. So god damn beautiful.

What are you DOING?: Trying to compose a song in rememberance of Pearl Harbor.
I think I have it down, but I don't have to work with what I usually do, just an okay Yamaha
keyboard. I'll post a link when I'm done if anyone wants to hear it. It's simple, but catchy.

Can I get an amen?!

AMEN, brotha!!

Right now I'm trying to make a film mix of a classic (insert artist's name here) song because it's performed with one of the actors. And there's also SFX. I have the 6 channels of Blu-ray audio to work with, as well as combining it with the original studio version of the song. I don't think it's going to be exactly as heard in the film, but I'm confident it'll turn out nice and I'll be happy with it.

You have been fooled like I have! :P I also bought the new "50th Anniversary Deluxe Edition" thinking it was a new release... :/

And the size is disappointing. If I remember correctly, the main feature is only 4.1 gigs! And they couldn't even bother updating the audio to a new lossless track?!

 I actually thought about it. After ripping the old disc to PC, I looked up the bluray releases to see if it ever got a remaster or anything.
There's the two main releases and a couple bundles out there.
I even checked against a bunch of other sites to see what people have: all the same thing.

This movie should get reworked. Give it a nice remaster.

The Nightmare Before Christmas is another one of those mass multi-releases that confuses me.
I bought one of them, not sure which, but I think they're all the same? I got lost looking them up.
I only bought whichever was in the store. The 2D one. The 3D bunbles were all sold out.

Alright, I may not be done with it tonight, as I've run into a little bit of a problem. I'll post here when I do get it done.
Don't get your hopes up either, as I said in my above post, I don't have everything I usually do to work with so, I'll make
it sound as best as I can.

Edit: If anyone hasn't seen it already in the custom covers thread (Thread 90457), here is the cover.

Well I DID.....but the woman who interviewd me was fired....so what do I do about that? She told me she'd have me come in at the beginning of December when I finished the photography (Friday was my last day) to do paperwork, fingerprints and a background check. But I can't do that now that she was fired. I do have someone else's email, but I have a lead for a position at the local YMCA - as well as a recommendation.

ripping the end credits.
Clean cut. They were considerate enough to let the final music of the film end on its own while fading to black and then pausing for the slightest of seconds before the end credit music starts.
God it's beautiful music.

---------- Post added at 05:33 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:31 PM ----------

Might do the opening titles.

It has a lot of sfx in it though.
Horses, people, chatter, clatter, and dialogue.

The opening narration wouldn't be so bad for a soundtrack mix.
But the movie dialogue would throw it off.

---------- Post added at 05:45 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:33 PM ----------

Okay, so probably not ever the opening titles.

Right before the narration, there's birds chirping.
Some cool sfx for the motion of the camera swooping over the mountains.

The dialogue is very well centered.
Just sfx filling the surrounding channels.
The horsies being the loudest.
