Ah. I don't mind mice as much I do bats.
You know, there's been two fucking bats in my house in the past week or two. I want to figure out where they are coming from.
I have a plank of wood (conveniently sized), and I'm not afraid to use it. I stroke a bat down with it, which was the last time. Such luck I was given. Moved something to hold it in place, then wrapped it in a towel and, set it free outside.

Mice get into your food and shit all over the place. Even the pantry upstairs and the kitchen drawer where the utensils are stored (speaking from experience here). There's almost nowhere the can't get.
CLONEMASTER 6.53

That's true. But I'm talking from the standpoint of dealing with them. With mice, you can at least set traps, and I don't have to do anything about it.

It's just an exemple, but it's not my first HT, so I have some experience of dedicated room.
First rule, always separate the material and the cinema room, like public theater to avoid noise /warm etc from the beamer, I already did that in my first HT, it's was pretty good.
The glass in front of the beamer should be "optical " like telescope glass to be neutral and to not alternate the picture.
The rest, in wall speakers, transonor screen etc.

The scaler in the beamer or bluray player can upscale SD sources without problem.
In my first HT I had a beamer SD with DVD source and a screen about 2.5meter base, the picture was correct, now even a SD source upscaled is good.

Well, I just tried out Battlefield 1, and... wow! I am stunned at how gorgeous the game is, how well it runs (in consideration that I was playing on ultra settings), and how magnificent it is in general. I was taken to a middle-eastern map, planes were flying in the clear blue sky, the terrain was a vast, wide-open area. Or in other words: a battlefield.
I almost flipped my shit when I saw something very alike to this (

), which in my eyes is one of the most unique pieces of heavy machinery to emerge from the years of the Great War. I heard some nice, almost ambient music during the loading of the map. I had a fun time. It reminded me of Battlefield 1942, the first game in the series. The vastness of it in particular. The visuals, feel, and the array of weapons, vehicles, etc seemed to evoke that sense of ingenuity again. That's something I haven't discerned much since my first experience with a Battlefield game (though I've not really played any battlefield game since 2). I'm still surprised but at the same time amazed.
All of this... spoken of just the beta! The final state of this game must be well near perfect. With all that is right with the beta, and the reality that an AAA game developer fully realized the originality of the World War I concept; DICE definitely not done fucked up this time!

When you sleep, you achieve a full REM cycle in about 90-120min intervals. I.e. you go to sleep, fall into deep sleep, hit a "low", then go back up. The "upper" most points are points during which you can be easily awoken by a noise outside on the street, your phone coincidentally vibrating from a message, etc. Once past this point you go back down and after another 90-120 minutes you're back in deep sleep again. The deep sleep points are those where (in a matter of speaking) a plane could crash in your backyard and you wouldn't hear it. You're much less susceptible to waking up so easily from outside interference. When you're younger, you have a lot more REM (deep sleep) than when you're older. That's why you sometimes hear parents talk about their kids and say "he'll sleep through anything."
As long as you sleep in full 90-120min cycles, you should wake up feeling refreshed and absolutely fine. So 4 hours of sleep should be borderline doable, as it's basically 90-120min times two, so two cycles. Anything else outside that spectrum and you won't be feeling refreshed, even if you've slept 8-9 hours. That's why sometimes you sleep a lot and still wake up a little dazed and confused, and at other times you wake up alert and ready, feeling super focused.

Yes, Brahms only composed 4 symphonies, unlike Haydn's enormous feat of 104. But, these 4 symphonies; I would say, are up there with Beethoven's 9.
CLONEMASTER 6.53
09-06-2016, 05:20 AM
Of course, the 9th is the symphony I know well the most, mainly because of all the times I've listened to A Clockwork Orange; I always go and went for the title music and Beethoven's 9th. :p
But 4 symphonies? That sadly pales in comparison with an utmost amount of classical composers' work out there, but at least they are still exceptional.

But, that is exactly what kept me going.
Had it not been for that, and people I liked to talk to, I could've cared less. It was more the act of going, being there for 8 hours or so a day, when I know that I could've learnt much more in that period of time than what they usually instruct. That's what I didn't really care for. 4 hours at home = 8 hours at school. I could learn at least 2x more with 8 hours at home than school. They waste time, these days at least.

I've been putting off work on our 'opening theme', for the most part inadvertently, though a bit purposeful. I have a general conception of what and where to do off at with the melody, possible backing, and organization of the verses I have in mind, but it will not be without some further cognition and putting forth myself and effort to know what I'm actually dealing with here, and what it's going to take to reach the goal that is the ideal form of the track I've had in my head since I've been thinking about it.

90% Flac althought there's MP3 too when there's no FLAC. And yes I'm happy I was able to recover everything with a program with nothing lost.

Seems like I have been able to recover my last HDD. The one that I had to recover all the files with a program and pass it to another HDD?
I couldn't acess it, but it gave me the option to format it, and after I did such, it's perfectly usable, but there's still log-in and off problems so I don't expect that to last forever but it's something. Now I can use that HDD for anytime I need to watch anything in the TV through the Blu-ray. Or better yet, to pirate a console and stick games to it.

Ripping "Sara" from Fleetwood Mac's Tusk vinyl. Their worst album, according to my mom :p
I disagree. I mean, how can you play "Tusk" and not smile? A song about Fleetwood's throbbing gristle of love with USC Trojans on background and Buckingham doing his best Spicoli - "real savage like?"

I've never listened to it, though the song Tusk isn't bad and I've had Sara on repeat since I heard it in an earlier episode of this season of AHS: Coven. I do have the vinyl on hand atm, I'll listen to the full thing soon. It's either my mom's or dad's - even though mom said it sucked, it's probably hers. All of the Fleetwood Mac is hers and she has the better albums out of their collection combined :p

How about not playing Tusk the song but instead watching Tusk the movie? That should make you smile :p

Debating if there'd be any Interest in making a dedicated Thread to
raise Awareness for New Retrowave/Synthwave, since it's gaining
Traction with Movies like Drive/Kung Fury/Turbo Kid, etc...
Strictly "Name your own Price" of course, to not break Rules.
I'd really like to see People listen to that kinda Stuff more

You could simply make a "what synthwave music are you listening to?" thread. You wouldn't break any rules and you'd be freely discussing the music, the artists, the labels, and what items other people could buy.

Just updated my dad's iPod touch to iOS 10. WHAT. THE. FUCK.
Tried it to see if it's really as bad as it looked, and it's awful. First, let's talk about the new music app.
A.) It looks like absolute shit. It looks outdated. Ghetto.
B.) Album view is no longer a list, it's now a grid of the albums and they're big. I thought the list view was better. Apparently not.
C.) Timecode has been removed from songs. If you want to find it how long a song is, you gotta select/play it to find out!
D.) Genius has been removed
E.) For lyrics (if you're like me and you add the lyrics to your music), you no longer simply tap the album cover. You now have to scroll way the fuck down to reach them. This also means you can't immediately pause the song. You gotta scroll back up.
F.) To now "love" a song, you have to hit the small options button below the volume bar.
G.) This one's a given - but the whitewash. Soooooo sooo soo much white. Take that how you want, maybe I mean t in more way than one ;)
iMessage: they removed "send" and instead it's just an up arrow. That's lame as fuck.
Look at this! It's awful:
I would not blame anyone if they jumped the gun from Apple to android after iOS 10. Mark my words, I will not be updating till some of these things are tweaked. Hell, I waited almost an entire year before I updated to iOS 9. I can hold out longer.

I can deal with iTunes, at the least, it is not entirely a disaster. But this?; iOS 10? Well, quite simply, it draws the line. What I'm reading here is ridiculous. I will not be updating to iOS 10, for as long as is possible. That I will take none a risk on.
Woo, a lot of complaints about Apple and iTunes around these parts lately. :D

Honestly, even though it'll be interesting to hear Giacchino's first go at a Star Wars score, I'm a bit disappointed. I was really looking forward to how Desplat would do at it.
Also, when's the film coming out? It almost seems a bit late to change composers all of a sudden.

You see, I've become accustomed to the chromatics in the album display since about 2012 or so; I'm going to be a little pissed initially when they remove it for no good reason.

Good news. Desplat's style is far too restrained to score a Star Wars film. His is more tinkly background music. Works for some films, but not one like this.

I think it's great news, Giacchino has a much more brazen and bombastic style suited for Star Wars. His work on Incredibles is great and often reminds me of what he can do.

Holy fucking shit, I just realized how ecstatic I am to hear a new Star Wars score from one of my favorite composers, Michael Giacchino.
Based off from what I've heard from Medal of Honor, I'm confident that he could score an Indiana Jones film, (exemplary: one (
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=smJMobTlv7w), two (
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S4uOHC5s3jQ), three (

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xZHuUkrWPiI#)) but I don't know about a Star Wars film. I think this is going to be interesting.
By the mention, did Alexandre Desplat compose any of the score before they switched to Giacchino? Or perhaps was he just scheduled to score it? Hm...

Desplat can be big and loud when he wants to be (Deathly Hallows Part 2, Godzilla). His take on Star Wars would have been... interesting to say the least. I think it would have been a more emotionally driven Star Wars score than we're used to. Giacchino will do a good job though. His scores are always great. I mean... he's taken over from Williams before and it's turned out great (Jurassic World). I just hope the industry isn't gonna go nuts for Giacchino leading to him being stretched too thin what with Doctor Strange, Rogue One, The Book Of Henry and War For The Planet Of The Apes all over the next 12 months. And that's presuming Marvel don't want him for Spider-Man: Homecoming.
