Whether it's RCP or not is irrelevant. Henry Jackman didn't use Djawadi's Iron Man theme, nor even his own Cap theme. The latter I think I heard once, in the end credits, for maybe a few seconds. I might even hazard to guess the similarity was a coincidence.

So, it doesn't surprise me that the score for CW had abandoned the themes from WS. It makes me scared for Avengers 3 if they're gonna have the same attitude, especially with Silvestri back. Marvel will probably force them to keep the theme, since it already showed up in the two previous Avengers films.

Clearly that doesn't apply to music. The Winter Soldier hum appears in a couple cues in Civil War. Unfortunately that was perhaps the worst motif in Cap 2, so it's a shame that's the one they chose to retain!

I went out to Target today, and disappointingly came home with nothing. They were all out of the Exclusive Lenticular Slipcovers for Supergirl. I'm still going to hold off buying the Blu-ray until I get the exclusive cover.

I mean, I had to play through both Call of Duty and Call of Duty: United Offensive over again (not that I mind) to memorize Giacchino's score in order to tag and name them as such. 31 tracks in all, and United Offensive just re-used music, so I don't know how the Spyro games may be, but he might have to end up doing something similar to what I did. Perhaps watch some walkthroughs and remember the tracks and order them as they play, or something like that.

I hear the game is a fun exploration game.

It's coming to Steam soon, so either this Christmas or next Summer, I'll be able to get for $30 as GOTY edition.

Well, I downlaoded NMS.

Played for 5 minutes and now uninstalling it.

When the game starts, it takes 1 minute to fly through the universe.
You have zero control for 4 minutes.

In real time, 4 minutes of nothing is a long time for a game.

When you crash on any random planet, it takes 2 minutes for the game to set up for you.
It plays out like a movie so by the time you get to do anything, you're already bored to death.
Even if it's a first-time play.
Setting up the HUD actually is the longest part of the game, for some reason.

If you change the settings, save the game first.
As you start the game again, you'll crash on a new planet and wait 2 minutes for the damn thing to let you play again.

First planet, it had acid rain and the drones were passive.
The second planet had "typical" drones.
You attack once, they send a fleet after you.

The rabbits can do a lot of damage and there's no sure way to kill them when you just started.
Your gun does zero damage.
You can't heal.

Interacting with anything opens a new cinematic, you lose control, and it doesn't tell you anything.
You literally have to button mash to get out of shit.

So glad I pirated it.

Thank god i didnt try alt+tab.

But the spikes and lag weren't an issue. Once I lowered settings (which didn't make a difference in quality).

But the way they treat everything like first-time play and turn it all into cinematics without stopping the world around you, it's pretty stupid that they turn a simple achievement into a whole movie by itself while the wildlife still attacks you and you have zero control.

Since it takes forever for the HUD to become active and then having to wait for the damn robot to shut up before you can take control, i can see it being incredibly annoying to start a new save every single time.

I thought about this the other day.

Treating everything like a first-time play, turn it into an epic movie.

But the biggest pitfall for all developers is that they don't make it so you can skip everything and get right into gameplay when you've watched enough screensavers.

The cinematic gameplay should be left only for the E3 shows and showcasing in stores.
I remember some old games on PS1 had a special mode for that.
Demo mode or something. Arcade? Attention?
It was automatic play to draw attention of stupid kids wandering around.

Devs today seem more and more like they're developing for the sole purpose of picthing a game.

Ran into a bit of Halo-like mystery.

I landed upon an interesting planet, with very strange jellyfish-like fauna hopping about. It was dark. I entered an outpost - abandoned, non-functioning, it wasn't like stepping inside so your toxic protection would re-normalize. It seemed to be infested with a flood-sort of parasite organism.

I like this.

The PC version is definitely not the smoothest. Even players with top-of-the-line specs report problems. It isn't optimized all that well.

Furthermore, I heard one of my favorite tracks from the game, "Escape Velocity" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ru5_UlKd1W0), while flying my spaceship. It worked so well as the supporting music to your own journey through the quiet space. Peaceful.

Encoding a trailer for Final Fantasy XV: Kingsglaive (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt5595168/) movie.

This one has several notible actors in it for the English dub.

And it's actually very, very Final Fantasy related.
Unlike The Spirit Within where it was more like an alternate reality of FF.

This one has a "WEAPON" in it.
Something like Ruby or Emerald WEAPON from FF7.

The only thing is, it's DVCpro. So it's anamorphic, which means the quality will be very, very questionable.
It will look nice, but a ProRes would have given it the detail attention it needs.

At last, I've finally built a hyperdrive, and have traveled to another system.

The first planet I landed on; grey, rocky, and it had large bodies of water. It was beautiful under there, but I was unable to stay for too long. Then I (accidentally) attacked a sentinel and was forced to flee the planet,

the second planet, very red, looks hot, but I don't think that's the case. The framerate seems to worsen on certain planets more than others. This planet wasn't friendly to a nice framerate.

It's cool that you're enjoying the game.

Shame on me, since I don't have a good PC to run it, nor do I have a Next Gen console.

It's like when Destiny came out. Very mych rinse and repeat type of gameplay. Maybe in the future, they will come up with much more game mechanics. Maybe an end-game scenario. Who knows what they have in store.

So far I've only come across it on my brother's vinyl copy of Queen's Greatest Hits, and it's not in good shape. The version on Best of Bowie is the radio edit, as is the version on Queen: The Platinum Collection - Greatest Hits I, II & III. It's the strangest thing.

The only way to really know is to compare. The reviewer did saw there were actual improvements in the sound.

That was around the time where a lot of director's were making 6.1 films.
Right before 7.1 came the most popular entertainment system.
I think they just matrixed the crap out of it make the back center (phantom) channel worth while for people who paid for overpriced 7.1 back then.
7.1 was new so it was very expensive.
6.1 is just dumb. It's probably more immersive and organic over 7.1 with just the back center being duped into the back channels.
The LOTR trilogy is all 6.1.

Thankfully, 6.1 didn't last very long.

But i have to question reviewers. To make sure they didn't upgrade their sound system at all.
If they're reviewers, they're not going to be using the same sound system for more than one year.
They probably get discounts or free shit from new companies.
I sincerely doubt that they foot the entire bill to the latest Dolby Atmos / DTS:X sound system.
If they've used a new system since the first watch, who's to say the system didn't enable an internal matrix to change things?

It's not uncommon for shows to produce at 29.97 to match NTSC TV's, the intended audience of the show.

It kinda does make a difference but most of it is the fact that there's no interlace or DVD compression but it's still a huge advancement on offering of SD.

It looks fine enough considering the source must of been a betacam. I don't like 480p- or NSTC, mostly because it's stretched. 576i, while interlaced, still has more definition and the aspect ratio is more firm and doesn't look stretched.

Also, while it was a TV production, it's more than likely than the animation was as always produced in film, therefore 24 frames per second, but probably was later converted to 25fp for TV? idk

That's the whole deal with SAR / PAR / DAR.

720x480 is the limit for SD specifications. On disc.

When you play it back in a GOOD media player, it will read the internal flags and resize as need.

The show is made for NTSC, so 576 is the wrong resolution for it. It's a bastardization.

When you play NTSC 480p/i content properly, it will stretch to 720x526~ or whichever the SAR is set to.

Since it's an NTSC production, for PAL countries several things need to happen:

1) stretched to 720x576 to meet TV standards
2) video converted to 25 fps
3) audio converted to match. probably horrible pitch or speed hacks.

I just didn't bother to resize the first screenshot to what it will actually look like.

But the only reason PAL gets better quality transfers is probably the framerate, not the resolution.
In quite a few cases, I've seen PAL DVD's get better quality.

For 25fps, it has to be progressive.
If it's going to be interlaced, it will have to be 50i.
So either way, that's a lot more frames to preserve definition of the image.
The resolution just provides minimal boost.

In torrents/forums/etc:
I've seen a lot of DVD's from PAL countries converted back to NTSC standards and replaced with NTSC audio because the PAL audio is usually super fucked.

NTSC progressive vs interlaced is a huge mess.

Progressive is the best thing to look forward to in NTSC content.
If it's Interlaced ,we just die inside a little bit.

Shows produced for PAL countries get bastardized a lot for NTSC countries.

BBC's Merlin and Sherlock series all get converted from 25 fps to some sort of interlaced monster.
A lot of frames are blended and duped. There's just no real way to recover original 25fps.

I tried to make a 10bit encode of the pilot episode to Merlin from the BBC America DVD's I bought, and it was not fun to play with.
No matter the solution, you can always see that the frames are blended and ruined.

Since most tv's and monitors are digital these days, we should get everything in original broadcast format.
Digital TV's don't care about NTSC or PAL.
Just the stupid players are region locked and other sorts of stupid.

Some TV shows in NTSC countries are produced, filmed, etc in ~30 fps.
USA TV series: Home Improvement was actually produced in 30 fps.
But for USA and Canada, NTSC, that comes out to 30,000 / 1,001 = 29.97002997002997.
29.97~

So for the NTSC DVD's, they were actually put on there as 480i60.
60 in NTSC comes out to... 60,000 / 1,001 = 59.94005994005994.
59.94~

So for Home Improvent, an NTSC produced series, recorded at 30 fps, put on DVD:
480 interlace @ 59.94 so it plays back at 29.97 progressive.

I don't think there's much 29.97 progressive on the market.
It's very rare and unusual.

But 60 interlaced back to 30 progressive comes out super smooth.

So when it comse to any TV from NTSC countries, I have to check what plays the smoothest.
I have to check frame by frame ("frame stepping") to see how many frames repeat when I check it unprocessed or unfiltered.

There's literally a 50 / 50 chance the show was made in 29.97 or 23.976 fps. :noonecares:

The opening with the Pearl attacking the city was clipped to hell.

And every track on the first album release clips on all loud, action parts.
I couldn't listen to it very much until the complete/expanded/sessions leaked.

I still prefer not to listen to the first one or watch it as much.

The clipping is worse than that in Tron: Legacy.

If you watch Tron: Legacy in 5.1/7.1, you won't hear it.
If you downmix to stereo, you'll definitely hear it. Unless you normalize the coefficients.
But several people ripped the bluray with eac3to (also using different Arcsoft library versions) and proved the clipping was in the bluray source.

Oblivion is another one that can observe clipping. :sigh:

This is why I still have the money I do. I never really buy anything a lot of the time. I just save what my parents give me and I just use some of it later. Simple as that.

Poor timing, I suppose. Just use it for the stuff you know you want. I've had the misfortune to use it on things I've been disappointed with.

My current plan is for me to buy the TF:TM 30th Anni. set next month, and then the Star Wars TFA 3D set in November.

I've been wondering that as well. I'm at least still in High School and am planning for college, so I have about only a few years left before my parents leave me to my own devices.

Look it up then. Since 2008 Spain has been in "crisis" as we say in Spain. Of course jobs exist - what's a country without jobs? But there's lack of 'em - they're not available for eveyrone for all.

You have to understand that because I'm in a different country that that's why I'm having a hard time understanding your situation. It's fucked up studying for a degree restricts you from employment. Maybe not in Spain, but in America it's common sense. A student studying for a degree has to have some sort of income to support themselves (good thing you have your friend).

I wonder what the hell the jobs are in El Salvador. There has to be some, since my family there are still perfectly functioning. Granted, some of it is sent from my mom and aunt in support of grandmother and others. Still, I wonder what they are.
