It's the biggest thing you'll learn.
Once you take an hour or so to install and set it up, every other time you use it will be easier.
The only thing that discourages people is the reading part and the seting up part.
But, like a fine axe, the more you spend sharpening, the less whacks it takes to chop up a body. :smrt:
If you want perfection and accuracy, dedicate a whole day to EAC.
If that's too much, forgo the the whole idea and stick to regular cd ripping and don't bother trying validate anything. Just live with the satisfaction that you can hear the music.
dBpoweramp supports AccurateRip.
So does Foobar2000, but no one writes guides on those. :noonecares:

I don't have the time nor that much of a huge CD collection to share to dedicate that much to get the perfect rips. Most FLAC people are kind of very exigent, as in, really want a lot in the quality and I understand why. However. As much as I want to do the best rip I can to share, I dunno, I think the one I did (weighing 335 MB, with a cue, log and m3u) might do.. maybe if I had a bigger CD collection to share and more jewels of my own.
Most importantly; my dad doesn't likes me installing stuff so the EAC I used was portable; I don't have a disc reader of my own so I use my dad's computer. I'll see if I'll do all of that because I don't wanna be a hypocrite, I do want to offer the best quality possible. But I'm not sure if it's worth all the mess, 90% of the people would be fine with the rip I did.
The CUE, if it helps anything, or the curious:

Differing samples because:
Read offset correction : 0
It should either a positive or negative number.
My drive requires an offset of +667 samples.
Popping in a CD just now gives me option to configure the drive again (since it's never been used for a century).

(

And it's still the same.

(

If I go into Drive Options (f10), it confirms drive offset correction:

Now I'm ready to test for gaps/silences, test rip then finally rip to FLAC.

Does that mean it's not a correct rip?

Use an older CD. Something that's likely to have been used a million times in the past.
Those are likely to be "Key" CD's for testing the offset correction.
Brand new CD's won't really be considered "Key" until a solid year goes by.
Use a standard label that mass produces. Not LLL or Intrada, as those are limited labels.
Sony label or even WaterTower should be quite ubiquitous by now.
The idea being internationally available. Even if they ship out, LLL/Intrada have a limited and absolute quantity, whereas Warner and Interscope have millions of soulless CD's to march unto the world.

Give it a listen to see if you hear any garbage you normally wouldn't hear.
For gapless tracks, it may cause problems. For standard tracks, it shouldn't be a big deal.
No offset usually just adds more silences, in this case, appended to end of previous tracks. So tracks should have mroe silence at the end of each track.

I don't see anything wrong, I'm hearing the disc right now. Probably, the song starts right at 0:00, but I think that's how the CD works, probably, and the transpass to one song to another lasts one second or two. Other than that, the CD sounds nice to my ears.

That's how your drive works. It's not a perfect machine made by perfect machines.
It's a mediocre machine made by other mediocre machines.
For the best possible drive made to humans, you need outworldly technology with nanobots.
It'll sound nice to your ears, but to the OCD, they'll hear the extra 700 samples added to it. It's a Jedi thing when it comes to the OCD. ;)
Also, they'll look for an accurate-rip version to save space on the extra bytes due to the extra samples.
Can't win 'em all. :noonecares:

Open the task manager and rip a disc. Browse the itnernet and do stuff on the computer to see if the CPU spikes.
Ripping a CD doesn't take up much resources, so it should be safe to do browsing.
If you got a quad-core, it's definitely safe.
The extra features in EAC help prevent errors from happening in cases where CPU usage might spike.
When EAC was created, computers only had single-core and dual-core only.

Imagine spending your hard time on making the best, most perfect and accurate rip possible.. for it to be "stolen" and shared everywhere else without your credit, ever.
That'd be quite annoying. I mean you took your damn time to share it with everyone to make it the best and you won't even get a single name credit xD

That happened when I spent the time looking for the rest of the music to Kill Bill volume 1.
I had inserted my username into the tags and made my own .txt with info and actually made up a tank in text letters.
Then some a-hole came along and edited out the tank but the tags or the rest of the text and claimed credit.
That's how I actually found the Shrine. I follwed him here.
Biggest hack ever. When I confronted him about it, he ignored me entirely.
I had it up on Demonoid tracker first, since I couldn't find it anywhere else.

I mean.. if it ever happens (and it will fucking happen if the rip turns out to be the best fucking ever, other sharing sites will take it because it's better and take it as their own) it'd be annoying, I know I woudn't be able to do nothing for it, and crying and making a drama out of it would just do me worse, but it's the kind of thing that really makes you think and say, why the fuck would I continue working my ass off to share the best shit ever to get it stolen and my merit gone? That kind of thing has resulted in a lot of good sharers not doing anything anymore, and I'm not talking just about the Shrine.

I'm assuming that a CD rip for Zootopia is already out there.
The only reason someone would steal your rip is if it has an exclusive track or remastering different than most other retail CD's out there.
I've had other releases by ripped off and uploaded elsewhere without credit.
And when they were questioning the source, they didn't care to listen to my comments and continued as if no one said anything.
Their upload got trumped with proper tags, anyhow. As I retag my stuff differently than the standard crap that's out there.
PonyoBellanote

No, there's no CD rips, at least everywhere I checked, only iTunes rips and WEBFlac rips.. and I haven't bothered to check if they're mine, since I think I was the first one to ever post the Zootopia score online. No scans either, and I'm workin on 'em.
The scans I wouldn't mind them getting "stolen" since that I was already planning to upload everywhere I know that stores covers, just so make a "public service".

TBH, the digital flac versions would be the best. Since they come straight from the studios so need to do all the extra work for drive correction and other faults that come with CD ripping.
And don't bother comparing sizes either. It's not indicitive of quality.
Ripping CD, there's bound to be noise due to production of the CD itself. Noise adds bytes.
There's still some noise in the actual masters themselves because nothing's perfect. Unless it was a total synth job.
But that's standard noise from the recording process. Now there's more noise due to the physical medium process.
Digital stores, just the recording faults.
Sometimes, CD's will get 'audio compression' (brickwalled). So that will definitely increase file size, since it's louder.
But, brickwalling isn't a favorable thing.
Aside from usual "zimmer" complaints, the biggest thing people complained about BvS was that it was severely compressed.

Honestly, I'm surprised you guys are claiming ownership to your own recordings, considering how it usually goes down. Though you may have ripped it, the material contained within it is what matters most. Most people won't care who ripped it, as long as they get their hands on it. It's a place for sharing, but knowing who distributed isn't always focused on. For example, someone made a fantastic conversion from 8-Track to DVDA of a quadraphonic mix of Kraftwerk's Autobahn. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find where the source originally came from, or who had done the conversion in the first place. Granted, there will be cases where you get to know who did the rip. For instance, there is a user out there named PBTHAL, who has made vinyl rips from the same band I mentioned, as well as others. His named has popped up in a few downloads I've made in a couple other places. What I'm trying to say here is that knowing who did it isn't important in most cases. In the rips I've made to share on SoulSeek, I never care if people know who I am, just as long as they enjoy what they hear. I think that should be more important.

It's definitely not that. I sleep happily knowing that I have a bunch of stuff I wouldn't otherwise if I had to strictly stick to CD, which is ridiculous. Though I like physical media, it just is no longer cost effective in terms of having room to store in your house. There is a reason I would rather buy a flash card for my DS than another full price game. I just save far more, in terms of money and spacing.

If it ever was a decision of the respective composer, we would have a soundtrack release to mostly everything. For example, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.
But this is sadly not the case. It's by the decision of the company whether this happens or not, movies or games alike.

They should really make a deal to include soundtracks with blurays. Metigate some costs. Probably see a lot of craigslist ads giving them away for free.

ARK takes about 40. Alien: Isolation takes about 40.

Serious now, yeah, sorry for the language. I suposed that's what you didn't like about the comment. Though I kinda do look bothered in the comment, but I wasn't. I really didn't care, and I was trying to show him that, and that I actually don't care about what he support, does or thinks, that disagrees to me, that he could do whatever he wanted and I wouldn't mind, that I didn't anymore, meaning I have changed somewhat but it doesn't seem to give that message. I wish I could have worded me much better.
Ah, I really was trying to show something better of me, but while trying I haven't actually done so and I think I've made myself look worse and like if I actually bothered?

Anyway, basically, what I was trying to say, DAK, my man, is that I really don't mind whatever you want to believe or vote for, even if I disagree with it, I feel today like I've changed and don't give a damn about it. Even if I disagree, it is your right to support and vote whoever you want, is your freedom to do so, and I'm not gonna argue, insult, or pick on you anymore for any of your beliefs. A friend gifted me these babies. Now I'm just trying to figure out how to play as 'em in the PC version of DISNEY INFINITY 3.0. Although I've already sticked in the codes included, to be able to play them in the PC and mobile versions of the game, still I cannot seem to be able to play as 'em in the game at all. The PC version is not as good as the console (the only good thing being the better graphics) but it is not as complete. To get it complete you gotta pay additionally for stuff, while when you get the console version, you pay once for the starter figures and the whole game. But at the moment I cannot afford the Wii U game. So I'm trying to see if I can play them in the PC version.. somehow. If not.. well. They still are beautiful to see nonetheless! Somehow better than the Amiibos.

i'm going to run all his music through paulstretch.
that's going to be a thing again.
Currently playing with different "time resolutions" for some music.
"The Ritual" from American Psycho is beautiful through PaulStretch. Increased time resolution to give it more frequency resolution.
Which I think helps keep it "cleaner" sounding.
INFO:
http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/paulstretch.html
The default is a window of 0.25.
I'm using 0.45 to, I guess, "blur" it a little more so there isn't much distortion.
Some music on 0.25 tends to get distorted and wrecked, because of the music style.
But 0.45 is a lot closer to what Brian Reitzell did for Hannibal.
0.25-0.45 is a good place to start.
Maybe start with 0.30? Maybe 0.35 or 0.40 is the sweet spot.
The actual stand-alone Windows tool is better because of way more customization in stretching your music.
But it doesn't receive much updates for the GUI. The core library is fine. The GUI could use work. I believe it's open source, so some kind soul either has to play with it or I should learn how to tweak and build it.
There's also a Python script version, which is supposed to be the best and most efficient way to use it.
Given the small use of Python I've used before, I would agree.
It would be the best approach for batch jobs.

mourning comedy:
"MIB 23" / "Men in Black: 21 Jump Street" cross-over.
http://geeknation.com/men-in-black-and-23-jump-street-crossover-gets-its-title/
"23" because it's part 3 of the "Jump Street" film franchise.
The original TV series (80's) never got a film franchise. It was strictly a TV franchise.
Technically a reboot, but in film format only.
For the series, they never increased the street name. Just the season numbers increased.
For the films, it was clever and cute the way they moved streets for the sequel.
But I mean... now everything means nothing in the first two films. I watched them for nothing. :-/
I liked them.
All the scenes in slow motion and everything else that you need suspend your disbelief for the sake of comedy (other things they did that defy laws of physics) can all be explained by extraterrestrial technology interference.
I wonder who will replace TLJ and WS...
"younger actors are expected to be stepping in for Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith"
With TV shows doing scifi cross-overs and now movies mixing genres, they're really doing their hardest to stop all the "useless remake" comments. Well, we only have ourselves to blame.

Spectre was decent. A nice way to tie up loose ends for Craig.
Hotel Transylvania 2 was decent.
I liked Goosebumps. More than i thought.
2014 was a better year: Monuments Men, 22 Jump Street was fun, American Hustle was fun, RoboCop was enjoyable as a stand-alone (disregarding the original).
Then go back further to 2012: Skyfall, Django Unchained, first Hotel Transylvania, and others. 2011 had Tin Tin.
But the more time passes, the less there is that's entertaining from them.
I didn't enjoy The Interview at all. Try Parker did that, I think, first. MadTV did it in a song. So I thought it was a useless movie.
Adam Sandler & Co. just doesn't do it for me for long time now.
Aloha was disappointing. It didn't really do anything. Cooper and Stone didn't even have to act in it. They just walked in as themselves and cameras happened to be rolling.
The Magnificent Seven is being remade by Sony. :-/
I mean... it's just... being remade. :-/

You probably eat killed animals all the time.
What those kids did is horrible, and they should definitely be punished in some capacity, but killing an animal is very different from killing another human being.

They are already cropped, I know about the tiny white borders, it's a bit of a pain to get the position of the thing to scan in the scanner perfectly y'know, they're a bit fine

Why are we complaining about the damn title? I mean, didn't anyone find "Rise of The Planet of The Apes" to be a mouthful? Besides, people are just going to refer to it as "the new Spider-Man movie" regardless of it's actual title. Just wait for details and footage or, better yet, watch the damn movie when it comes out.

Lol, we're not debating whether to see the film or not based on the title, we're debating whether or not it's a stupid title.
And yeah, RotPotA was indeed a stupid title. Did anyone say it wasn't?
You know what would be an awesome name for it, despite the chance that it would be incredibly risky? Marvel Team-Up, based on the comic series.

We just had a Pan movie. I don't care what studio did it.
And this one doesn't say it's directly related to Pan.

Pan was a story of Peter Pan. I don't think we need to see it again.
No one's certainly going to stand for it, either.

Pretty good - I daresay excellent!
I appreciate your comment - but I still see lot of flaws, but those could be worked with some editing, but the pain of scanning these is kind of done.
Now up to the booklets.. which are a bigger pain.

 That movie had less of Peter Pan than anything else.
For me, the 2003 movie remains the perfect live action of Peter Pan.

I've always found something creepy about the notion of a magical creature who never ages and who cavorts with children. And considering he is named for the Greek god Pan renown for his sexual prowess and appetites the "ick" factor increases tenfold.

I have it on Blu-ray. I personally think it's magical and kind of really has the spirit of Peter Pan on it. The music's pretty and helps give the feeling, along with a nice casting, backgrounds and effects although a bit dated now maybe but it's really decent to this day, still. I barely think any new live action with 2016 CGI can beat it. It's also kind of faithful to the oriignal story, dare I say the most. There's some deviations but not as much as the Disney animated version, and the deviations don't feel off the JM barrie vision, for example, the Peter and Wendy's "romance"

1: People complain because that's what most people do on the Internet. You want them to waste their time discussing items of substance? Heretic.
2: Watch the movie and then render an opinion? You're missing the point. Social media is all about meaningless hair trigger outrage, Twitter especially, the home of anger, bad spelling and worse grammar. Besides, getting angry is much more important than having a reasonable and rational discussion. (Just look at the Presidential race: no issues, all insults.)
3: When it comes to superhero films fans demand that the films meet their preconceived notion of how the film should turn out: in other words the film should be exactly like the comic. (Of course, most fans have never written a script, shot a frame of video or set foot on an actual film set.) And if it doesn't meet those expectations, then that film and the actors within will be excoriated.

Pretty sure Peter Pan is public domain. That's why the Pan universe gets retold and added into a lot of things.
Hook was it for me. I didn't need to see another Peter Pan since the Disney animated one did so well.
Hook had it right going a different direction. It's more of a movie for adults to remember to be kids again.
Robin Williams  Dustin Hoffman  A lot of great actors in it.
And let's not forget roofi-oooooooooooooooooooooooo.
I've not actually read the actual story to Peter Pan so don't know which is closest: Disney animated or the 2003 live action.
The 2003 is good to watch. The bluray could use an upgrade because there are a lot of visuals in it.
I like to watch that one with 3D glasses on because of the rich colors in it.
Jason Isaacs did a good captain.
 I remember being so drawn to Hook because the way it starts out, it looks like a horror movie. The drag mark on the wall.

Arguing is fine. An argument is two sides having a reasoned, rational exchange of ideas where the validity of those ideas are tested.
What takes place on social media is outrage. Meaningless outrage. So many people actively seeking out issues so they can express their anger, raw nerves looking for stimulation.
Expressing that outrage, that anger is more important than the article of disagreement.

That film makes me go through the same emotions over and over again. I absolutely LOVE the score and weep buckets with every emotional scene.
I look at Roofio as an arrogant prick who deserves an educational slap or two and I take it all back and hope he lives through it when he sacrifices himself.
Such a fantastic film. One of Robbie's best. There, I said it. I never know what to do with myself in the scene where it all comes back to him; cheer and caw with him, or cry like a little girl from sheer happiness :)

Miller and Holkenborg should just steal the sessions (Mad Max Fury Road) and leak them.
Let everyone turn the screens grey and just put the sessions on to watch it in that black/white version.
Might end up with crushed blacks or shadow/highlights, but it will have to do since the greyscale version wasn't released.
I would love to see a 10 minute featurette on that process.
Like give examples of certain scenes that would benefit regrading for greyscale as apposed to just killing color on the monitor/tv.
I made a greyscale encode of Van Helsing (2004) just to make it all black/white like the intro. I think there were a few scenes that could have used a gamma boost for the really dark scenes. But the way they were, really looked like classic horror.
I should greyscale The Mist and watch the retail black/white V the homebrew black/white and look for differences.
With FFDShow and Avisynth, it should be a sinch to do for live-playback without encoding. :smrt:
