It's projected GitS will do $20 million over the weekend. That's not bad for a non franchise SF film that doesn't have "Star" in its title. (Although the last two Star Trek haven't set the box office on fire.) Americans are very conservative when it comes to SF. It's rare that something that breaks that conservative "mould" breaks through at the box office. It was a gamble it would do blockbuster business in the US even with the enticement of Ms. Johansen in a form fitting outfit. It will probably do better business overseas.

A score release was announced a few months ago, but three weeks ago it was revealed that Lorne Balfe was involved at the last second to work on the score (it's unknown how much material he was involved with). Apparently, Balfe said that he did not replace some of Mansell's cues but he "collaborated" with him.
I just guess that Balfe's last-second involvement screwed-up the already planned only-Mansell-music score release.
Also, being the film a box office bomb, I'm not even sure if they'll ever release a score for the movie.

Hey everyone, (Trying to convert FLAC to MP3) so I'm using a Mac and am trying to find the best software or program available to convert Flac files to mp3 (while keeping decent quality). I currently use MAX but I sure there are better programs out there. I'm aware that converting FLAC files to MP3 compresses the file and loses quality. but the MP3's are for my smartphone so I can save space. If anyone has any information I really would appreciate it. :)
