The name comes from Ponyo_11 which was my first nickname when I started in forums, it was a Ghibli one, around the time when Ponyo released. Bellanote comes.. because I was called Bellanote in another and I love Lady and the Tramp and Ponyo kinda. So. PonyoBellanote. Not too bad of a name.

I'm constantly rewatching the first clip from Star Wars: The Force Awakens! Premiered on Jimmy Kimmel last night!

I don't like to watch film clips before watching the full film... leaves me wanting more, and I can't get more!

The hype is just too much! People need to lower their expectations just a little bit. But nobody will. Like, its probably going to be really good but you can't count on it.

Some solid avice I should take. My expectations for Mockingjay, pt. II were through the roof. I liked it, I enjoyed it, but I overhyped it just a little bit. So I'm trying to chill out and dumb it down a little bit for Episode VII

My expectations were through the roof for Halo 5 and then the roof fell on me.
But The game redeemed itself by the end.

But still, sometimes, having a crap ton of hype is worth it, even if the content doesn't
fully live up to the expectation... I mean, I love feeling hyped for something I love, like

Good night everyone.

Decided to dig up a project from a long time ago. Nearly two years ago
I started a project to combine the lossless audio from the Kung Fu Panda 2
soundtrack with the lossy audio from the Complete Score. The interaction
between the two would theoretically result in a complete (sans 1 cue) score
that was about 90% lossless. It retained all of the original lossless audio,
and then I simply edited in the missing bits that were on the complete score
like 3 seconds near the start of "More Canons" or an extra bar of music in the
middle of "Gongmen Jail". Or, personally, my favourite edit, various sections
in "Stealth Mode" including most of the middle section.

The result 2 years ago was horrfyingly bad, and took me ages.
I took this evening to start it over from scratch. In less than a fraction
of the time, I completed it, and it sounds flawless. It is amazing how
much skill you can build over time without noticing.

To get a feel for what I am talking about, take a look at this spectrogram
of the cue "2m23 Stealth Mode". It starts out lossless, from the OST, then
192kbps MP3 from the Complete Score, then Lossless, then lossy, then
back to lossless. The problem I had a few years back was getting the various
sections to actually connect to eachother without the audio breaking or
gapping during the cuts and pastes. But I've figured out an easy way to
make everything seamless.

The sub masks it with all the bass.

On non-sub systems, the distortion and bass is there.

Even if you use eac3to to rip the audio and examine under Audactiy or others, you can see there's clipping for it going above 0 dBFS.

If I turn on channel normalization, then you can't hear it.

I'm asking Santa either a Wii U or a sound bar system. It gives me what I want, more or less, nice sound quality, clear and bass.

Just make sure the inputs match the outputs of your commonly used devices.

I got an old soundbar off a friend that accepts toslink/optic and RCA (red/black).
But the BD player only has HDMI and Coaxial (yellow).
To get sound from the BD player, I have to: BD player (<-HDMI->) TV (<-RCA(red/black)->) soundbar

So I just use my PC these days to shorten that:
PC (<-toslink/optic->) soundbar

It's also a stereo soundbar. It downmix audio itself.
But it sounds better if I let the PC downmix to stereo.

About the soundbar, I know it very well, but honestly I can't afford a 5.1 surround nor have space for it; and I've found that my stereo subwoofer even old and lacking, displays just the sound I want for me, that the sound bar will display even greater. Just nice stereo, clear audio picture and balanced bass and voices.

Just learned that a few months ago, the Spain government gave the spanish TV groups the license to broadcast in the new signal MPE5, it's a complete digital signal which offers more quality, I guess. A few of them are taking advantage of it and are making HD channels. Mediaset Spain, has offered the first choice; Boing HD, an HD alternative to the Boing channel. Boing is a channel that show a lots of kids cartoons and all. That said, you'd think that's the best choice to showcase the HD, since cartoons are very colorful and all. But.. the signal oof course is 1080i, but.. the channel is an upscale of the SD channel. Damn and I was so excited, that I'd finally be able to see the cartoons in HD on my TV! They have potential. This signal does good 1080i and 1920x1080 aspect ratio, and is able to do Dolby Digital audio. And they go and do that! Let's see if the upscale is really good because most of the HD counterparts of the channels are upscales (with some exceptions) so I was thinking maybe they'd broadcast some HD content in it, I'll see when I watch the TV (which I don't do much) if the upscale is great and makes a difference of other channels. Other channels that will be broadcasting are Atresmedia Series, a channel which will feature all the TV shows and all that the group Atresmedia does. This one channel looks like it will broadcast true 1080i and also Dolby sound. Other alternatives are Real Madrid TV HD.

So yeah, my conclusion. Apparently the HD channels that have existed for a few years of the SD channels, do broadcast true 1080i sometimes, I just never know or check it; so it's possible that Boing will do that, if not now, sometime in 2016, I'll be hopeful, I'd really like that. Meanwhile I wait for Atresseries which will contain quality shows and movies in true 1080i.

Grainy shows/films would definitely benefit from the HD upgrade.

Upscale would only be for content filmed in SD to begin with.
Season 1 and 2 of BBC's Merlin wasn't filmed in HD so they're only on DVD. The blurays would most likely be upscaled.
A lot of old TV shows from the 90's are SD, at best. So something like "Full House" would be an upscale.

Same for cartoons. Mostly newer cartoons from bigger studios will think about HD (for iTunes downloads; or Amazon).

Most HD tv shows are broadcast in 1080i.
Even if they're shot at progressive 24fps.
Really old standard. Because there's still a lot of old tv's in the world so interlace isn't going anywhere in the next 20 years.

I've had a tiny glimpse of Boing HD, that's now in normal broadcast. Like I've said, it's an upscaled version of the SD channel. By the tiny glimpse I've had, which was less than a minute, I've noticed the interlace a lot in toy ads, which obviously are very fast so the interlace would normally appear in them. Hopefully the upscale is a nice one. Is it possible to broadcast the same as the SD channel but in HD available programs, the program can be shown in true 1080i? I'm hoping so, like i've said I think some HD counterparts of other SD channels have done it, but I dunno how true that is. Tomorrow morning I'll check Boing HD out and see how it is. It does seem better than the other HD counterparts that aren't broadcast in MPE5. I'm mostly waiting til more channels come this christmas, or after christmas, there are 6 channel slots to take. Hopefully good channels, hopefully all of them are HD, or at least a few of them are free version of cable channels. Disney Channel has been since 2008 broadcasting here free, in TDT. I just wish Spain would be like in the other countries where ALL channels broadcast in HD. In good HD. Disney Channel has been showing content that is obviously sourced from an HD source but downscaled to SD signal. I can know, because sometimes they've done broadcast of Disney Classic movies and they've been broadcast in 16:9, with 4:3 letterboxing.

Just checked (thanks to Wikipedia) that a few of the other HD channel counterparts do broadcast some native HD content in 1080i. So I'm hoping the same happens with Boing HD overtime. Also La 1 HD broadcasts in 720p.

But only the HD sourced content will be true HD content and the rest will be upscaled.

Cartoons, you'd have to research them all.
They probably do it so it's HD-ready.
It looks like cell animation (not CG or anything) so it depends if they still have the cells around to scan and blow up.
Scanning film can be scanned at any resolution for editing/processing.

Digital cartoons can definitely be made into HD. If they have the assets.

That screencap doesn't look like it's necessarily upscaled.
I've seen some upscaled SD cartoons from the 90's and they look totally upscaled.

The purple hanky he's holding shows obvious aliasing (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aliasing).
That could be an indication of the upscaling.
Most resizing algorithms give aliasing by nature.
That could also be from the downsizing to 720p.

My other friends here used to haven an iPhone before switching to Android.

They had this issue all the time.

Android just becomes obsolete when new phones come out.

I can jailbreak mine to use the newer OS, which gives a lot more speed performance and actually saves battery life.

I can see them burying that as much as possible and then get Bono to show up instructing the audience how to download an app that will add his glasses to photos.

On Android, I have about a dozen downloaded and only use only 5 or 6 them.
Daily, I only use 3 of them.

Definitely the PS4 controller was a nice buy. I can play all kinds of games in the most comfy way. Emulating PS1 and PS2 games is SUPER COMFY ans all other kinds of games, are also very comfy to play with, it's really a great controller and I'm happy I bought it, it was expensive, but worth it.

Now that I have the PS4 controller, I can FINALLY emulate Sly Cooper's games and play them for once, I've always wanted to do that!

I did this "C:\Program Files (x86)\steam\userdata\SteamID\AppID\remote\*" Ofcourse are my numbers hidden now in this post after that i clicked enter and saw this >> nothing else i closed it Deleted the remotecache.vdf and started steam (CLoud was enabled all the time) i started it up and nothing happened. The remotecache.vdf came back as 1 kb.. ? Someone please help :*(

I just found out my Sony BDP-3100 does not support FLAC 7.1 files.

Not that I really use it to play back anything other than discs or Netflix.
But my mom uses it to watch things off the externals.

The video will play but there will be no audio.

Since it's Sony, development has ended for this product centuries ago.

I should get an LG BD player this Christmas.

I should probably downmix the 7.1 tracks to 5.1 (since I'll never have a 7.1 system, anyway).

But first, I should rip all the opening/end titles for them.

I have a SONY BDP-5100 and works wonders for me, though. If you want to "experience" the lossless audio then just pull in the m2ts in the HDD, then it'll play the audio and subtitles correctly

Didn't see that coming, did you? I knew she died because of a NY Post article from 2013 of "TV Deaths you didn't see coming", which was before I started watching. It still caught me off guard, they way it happened. My jaw dropped and I definitely gasped.
