At this point, it's practically become a partnership. He's done nearly as much work as I have. I think. I don't know how much time and effort goes into ripping/chopping and recreating, but I can say that putting it together piece by piece is time consuming. And then it all needs to be split up after I've exported it as one giant file.

I'm feeling good about this one. I haven't started it yet but we have to "Analyse and Evaluate" an article regarding school uniforms. I'm usually pretty good at going into detail about things so this one should be easier than usual.

I'm an idiot for leaving it this late but I know deep down that I will get it done by tomorrow, even if it means getting out of bed and standing up to write it. In fact I'll probably work faster while I'm uncomfortable. And hey, since I live on like 4 hours of sleep anyway, I'm more than happy to do an all-nighter and get it done. (It will probably be finished come 8:30 in the morning.)

Once I'm home for the weekend, I'll be recording some more SOMA and Layers of Fear! The best horror games I've played to date, with the exception of Alien: Isolation, which will be difficult to top.

Wondering if I should get the Bolt soundtrack physically or not. It's literally 7,84 euros right now in Amazon Spain. I've always wanted to have that soundtrack physically, among many others. Bolt is a soundtrack I really really liked back when I was starting to get into soundtrack music. I could, back then, and I can, still, hum most of the songs, and remember most of the cues in my mind, and it's a really pretty score if you ask me. And physically the disc is pretty to see.

7,84 euros for one of my favourite scores is a must-have, don't ya think?

3D in spanish. I've always lived watching movies in Spanish in cinema way before this new one implemented English versions, so I think I'll be fine and the 3D may be worth it. I've already watched Zootopia in English first, so it's okay, it doesn't harms my view of the movie, and KFP3's dub isn't very horrible. Besides I can watch it in English whenever it's out in Blu-ray. Or see it in English a second time, but I only do that with Zootopia, it's special. Besides, money.

I went to see Kung Fu Panda 3 and Zootopia/Zootropolis, both in 3D, today.

As expected, KFP3's 3D was the best 3D presentation of the two. It reminded you that you were watching a 3D movie, by having nice effects, and not just popups, but also some immersion and all. The movie was also really pretty fantastic. The end part SERIOUSLY left me with my jaw open. Not even kidding, literally. When I finished seeing KFP3 I felt that movie was even better than Zootopia, although a second viewing of Zootopia later confirmed me that they're both as good and KFP3 sounds better because it goes further due to the fantasy. The thing about KFP3 that made me felt at first that it was better than Zootopia, was that it was more fantastic, so it gave more room to exciting imagery, literally the end of the movie left me with the jaw open. What also made me think it was better than Zootopia was that Zootopia felt more ordinary compared to KFP3's imagination and fantasy but a second viewing of Zootopia confirmed me they're both as good and Zootopia has its fair share of imagination/fantasy too. Let's just end this agreeing that both movies are really good and very different so it's not very fair to compare. Both do their job/purpose pretty good.

Zootropolis' 3D didn't really hit me at all. The most noticeable 3D effects were the Disney logos and the initial movie logo. The rest didn't really come off much. Probably immersion snouts/noses, but that might have been my imagination and not really a 3D effect.

I feel bad for my FB friends who have to stand my constant Zootopia fanart sharing posts. It's worse there than it is here, trust me. :p Not kidding. But I just want them to see the good art!

I'm using the full version of Bandicam to make a 1080p, 60FPS video file, and the last four episodes of my SOMA series have been recorded with it. I believe the codec is H264, a pretty standard one.

Anybody know any video and audio conversion programs that won't mind simply changing the codec? I'll look into which ones are supported.
Also, this is almost definitely the wrong thread but I thought I'd ask anyway. I've been ripping my hair out installing countless amounts of codecs and so far nothing has come close.

I've also tried Adobe Premier CC, but it seems that program hates 60FPS recordings.

Codecs in any NLE is a major issue.

I suggest installing and using and converting to and importing UtVideo Codec.

It's lossless. Camstasia also has a lossless codec for capturing.
You'll get really big sizes. But it will read it and when you edit, it'll be like editing audio in lossless.

I would actually recommend using...popular for game capturing....hasn't been updated for awhile but still used a lot....umm...
FRAPS

I can get you one.
I used it to capture Minecraft and record audio from soundcard.
I'm sure it allows mic stuff too.

FRAPS has its own YUV codec or you can save as RGB.
I would pick RGB lossless. I save to USB 3.0 external.

Sony Vegas will use whatever's installed as DirectShow (DSF: DirectShow Filter). So it's tricky if some programs don't support widespread decoding.
UtVideo installs as DSF for decoding playback in something like MPC-HC.

VLC is completely separate. VLC only allows internal codec support and it doesn't support UtVideo lossless, at all.
There was request for it but it was never installed. :/
Another reason to abandon VLC.

You could get lots captured with a TB of free space.
My max resolution is at 1024x1280 so I a lot more than you if you have actual 1920x1080 or even a 4K monitor.

My primary monitor is 1600x1200, but that's besides the point. I also spent �39.99 on Bandicam so I'm not switching to Fraps. :laugh:
Bandicam records in 60 FPS and automatically saves the in-game audio and microphone recordings as separate audio files, and it gives me so much freedom during editing. Fraps literally records video and that's it.

I see they have Lagarith/MagicYUV lossless support.
Both are DSF lossless codecs and would open in Sony or Adobe. But the filesizes would be immensely huge, like FRAPS lossless.
Lagarith is also incredibly small, so I would avoid it and use MagicYUV instead, very new and doesn't need extra settings.

Avoid all the crap about NVenc. Nvidia's x264 encoder is garbage. Proven time and time again. Any company saying it's awesome is getting paid to say that.

External codecs work fine, I literally select "External codec" and it gives me all sorts of options. One of which is the Camtasia one.
Bandicam cannot be cracked nowadays. Not unless you disable your internet connection and spend an hour looking online for a code that works. That's why I bought it. I'm much happier now that I can just launch it and use it.

I've already installed Lagarith, and will be using that from now on. Hopefully it creates a usable AVI that I can import into Sony Vegas.

Be that as it may, I am unable to access external audio codecs. But MPEG-1 seems to work fine with Sony Vegas, so that's not actually a problem.
It's too late for me to do any testing now. If Lagarith works, then I'm set for YouTube.

Lagarith will work. It's what a lot of editors use.
It's lossless but slow lossless.
UtVideo and MagicYUV are faster, and do work.

Camstasia is a commercial product with different intent. Development stopped, so it's no surprise if there's issues.

Lagarith and UtVideo are open source with only one intent: Lossless video.
So any issues would normally get worked out. But even if no further development on Lagarith, it was designed to work as DSF so any issues with programs is the program's fault.
Camstasia lossless not working, you can easily blame Camstasia for not making a compliant DSF codec.

If you are going lossless, Lagarith, I recommend UtVideo. It also has a lossless RGB setting.
I think Lagarith defaults to RGB.

It helps when codecs use standard colorspaces: YUV12, YUV16, YUV24, RGB24, RGB32.
No idea if Camstasia developed right.
MagicYUV did. But I like Ut better. It will tell you in media info if it's bt.601 or bt.709.
MagicYUV was told about it but he just said "it captures bit-exact so there's no need" which means you *have* to remember everything you did and log it.

I'll experiment. I'll find the nicest. It's just a shame that I've only got like, one episode of SOMA left to record. :(

Folks, I was wrong about the nuking of the fridge. It DOES exist in Darabont's treatment. I should have double checked instead of relying on memory. Here, in extremely condensed form, are the ways in which Darabont's script differs from the final product:

Title: Indiana Jones and the City of the Gods.
No Mutt character.
No Mac, the Brit who betrays Indy, instead a Russian named Yuri who is really a spy. Yuri is Indy's foil throughout the script.
More Marion, who is married to someone else. That someone else is the film's villain.
Aliens are a third act reveal.

It was George Lucas who nixed Darabont's version. Now that Disney owns the characters Lucas created maybe we'll get a film that will properly end the saga.

And the first film is still the best. The series should have started & ended with Raiders.

I respect Darabont but even good writer have bad ideas. And the fridge is still a lousy idea. That's what rewrites fix. My solution, the Potemkin village has an underground sewer system and Indy hides in those to shield him from the blast.

Not a perfect solution but somewhat more plausible than the world's most indestructible fridge.

In the commnentary, they said that teh fridge was made out of materials given by the aliens.
The supply was limited so rather than putting it out to market, they put it in the village to test. And rather than making straight up weapons, they desguised it as a fridge to test its durability. The military had no time to get more materials from the aliens as they fled at some point.
