Anyone remember an old tv commercial for (the then time) a new digital service to play games from a digital archive?
Was it Sega store? Was it a short-lived arcade service?
Was it for the Wii, get access to old Nintendo games?

All I remember is:
A collage of video game screens with a bunch of video characters just standing there, doing nothing. Getting depressed.
Unplayed and neglected.
Metroid wasn't doing anything. Sonic was dropping rings.
It was like all the old games were going through a midlife crisis.

And then it went onto the product.
It's not "play online". But all the games were available from an online digital database that you can buy, download and play on your... Wii... PS3... from a website for PC...
I think it was console based. It's limited distribution, I know that. Otherwise everyone would have it and there'd be hundreds of torrent packs.
But for PC, there's emulator which dominates availability so they wouldn't do that.

I've been trying to google it for years but never get any results.
Just blogs and reviews about defunct games. It's an easy thing to get the wrong results for and would have to use a complex script to google search with millions of permutations.

Just trying to compile the most complete soundtrack I can. It's my favorite score. You know how you asked me about studying scores? The sole purpose of me downloading the sheets to this score is to study the music through and through.

That seems a surefire way to get it done

AotC is my favorite Star Wars score; really cool how you're pawing through Williams' work like that. I have no clue how you music guys can make sense of all those notes, but it never ceases to impress me.

Departure is definitely one of my favorite cues from this score, I just wish it wasn't so short.

Problem is I don't have a turntable nor can afford one.. nor have the space in the house to get one, but damn do I wish I could! I'm holding on to my 192 kbps MP3 of the album and I'm imagining myself playing the LP while listening to it. ;W; It'd be so awesome. I'm such a hardcore collector, damn it. But I just have no room or anything to collect properly

I know some australian guy who wants to give me a N64 kit, full complete, even with a hack cartridge (the one you can load roms into, like with R4) worth 400 dollars, yet he'd give it to me for just the price of shipping. And still I do not have space for that kit.. nor even where to plug it in cuz the place is already filled with cables of Wii U, Wii and Blu-ray, TV, etc.

Anyone would simply grab it and collect it even if you can't listen to it, just mostly for how cheap it is, and collective reasons, but I really don't feel like spending the money for something such collective wise like it that I can only watch. There also is a pretty storyteller Lady and the Tramp book which is also just as cheap, but haven't got it either for the same reasons. And hell, putting myself in the situation, it'd be so awesome to get a vynil collection!

Well there it is. Chapter 3, the final chapter of Quadrant has been released. I'm so glad to have helped this game. Admittedly, it's not the scariest horror game in the world but considering it was made in the Unity engine, they've done a fantastic job. The sound design is great, the soundtrack is superb, the new lighting they implemented is sound, and I'm glad to have helped the game come to where it is now. :)

The developers said thank you and sent me a copy of Factorio. I'm in a good mood right now.

Trying to do anything to keep my mind off of the intense shoulder pain I am going through right now. :(

If the program didn't unexpectedly close then there's no way to recover it. Whereas if you were to end its process or cause it to hang, it would close and you would be prompted with a "recover project" window upon reopen.

Yeah, I just read that. It's kind of sad, really. But mostly the closure of Avalanche Games, the people who will lose their jobs.. the crew at Avalanche looked like such good people, it's sad to see that they'll be jobless now. As for Disney Infinity as much as I was never able to get into it for reasons, I kinda did like it a bit and it's sad to see it go. Well, at least I got what I wanted, the Zootopia figures. Wonder if the game will go out of stock. I don't have it. I should make use of it before it dies.

There's only a few bad things about Disney Infinity and Avalanche closing; the fact that the figures will be out of stock later this year or in 2017, and will sell terribly expensive by scalpers, for those who do wanna finish it all.

Well, there may be a good side; Disney may want to finish the stock so they may stock the figurines and games to cheap prices.. hopefully! I need the starter set for 3.0, and it's way too expensive for me atm

Well, I'm pretty sure Disney will want to get rid of the stock they have, and that means selling it all in cheap prices. However, I'm not sure if that'll be in the US only. Where i live, Spain, the figures and games are distributed by Nintendo Spain. It may not affect the same here. Here, instead of getting cheaper, it won't change, and it'll just easily get out of stock, therefore scalpers will arive.

For now I kinda got what I want of Disney Infinity the most; the Zootopia figures. What I want mostly now is the game, but it's still expensive.

I went to submit and it gave an error because I missed one rating tab.
Instead of the site saving my progress on what I typed, it instead doesn't have a button that "goes back" to the rating or lets you fix it.
It just loads a brand new page for the error and all your progress is lost because the only thing you can hit is "back" on your web browser. The site doens't have a safe button to go back with previous saved work.
All that typed out, gone.

And it would have been the only review there that goes into details about the IMAX scenes in original aspect ratio with a breakdown between 3 different versions for The Dark Knight. TDK actually has 4 versions, but the 4th is a DVD with IMAX scenes in OAR, which wasn't included in the bluray boxset.

I'll guess I'll just write up a quicker summary in notepad with technical specifics this time. Short and sweet.

Final Fantasy X + X-2 is getting remastered.
Which I'm excited for simply because it removes disc cracking and other crack jobs.
Just not sure I'll be looking forward to what's actually remastered.

As I understand, if they wanted to give it newer graphics, they'd have to start with a new engine and spend a longer time working on that.

The Tomb Raider Anniversary remake was actually impressive.
Same game, just new engine that they used for.... Tomb Raider 1000. Dark Angel? Or something. ToO? :erm:

I had to spend about an hour on youtube watching gameplay videos of the original Tomb Raider game on PS1/PSx/Playstation just to confirm that I was indeed playing the same game. It looked so new.

No way they'd be able to do that again.

Don't know the history to the FF franchise, but between 9 and 10 and 12, there are vast gaps in technology improvements.
Even 7, 8 and 9 had huge improvements.

Tupper Lake Central School, way up in the Adirondacks. 20 miles from Saranac Lake / Lake Placid (home of the 1980 Winter Olympics). Tiny-ass bumfuck town where everyone knows everyone and there's only 6 traffic lights. Nearest Dunkin Donuts is 60 miles away (therefore I haven't had iced coffee in 4 days 0_0) and the movie theatre shows a maximum of 2 movies.

The people there think it's quaint because it's all they know. Everyone definitely looked at us funny as we drove to the gas station for breakfast every morning (that's right - gas station breakfast). We were the outsiders.

But it's a backwards-ass place. There's the gas station, movie theatre, 1 restaurant, a diner, an Advanced Auto Parts, a Rite-Aid, a Family Dolla, and Raquette River Brewery. They've been doing construcion on the main road for 2 years now, it's like they haven't made any progress. Took video of them today as we walked to the deli for lunch. Also got a pic of the theatre with a payloader in front:


There really are some nice sites, though. The sun sets on Tupper Lake. I almost set my alarm last night to get up early for the sunrise this morning, but I wasn't feelin' it - 5:20AM. Then the first girl I shot today, I asked her if the sun rises on the lake and she said "no, it SETS on the lake". Though I did not know this before hand. So glad I didn't pull the trigger lol.

Captain America: Civil War reminded me of my own, and mine's been dead for over a decade, so I found some AA batteries lying around and now it's extremely happy. Spider-Man had one in his room. Would've been cooler if he had owned the i-Spidey Red iDog, but I guess Marvel wasn't THAT clever.

Yeah, it takes awhile to find that moment when you stop letting the game play you and you unlearn everything so you can play the game.

I lost my patience with games when God of War came out. And that spikey wall you have to climb that rotates so you have to move with it, it really got me rethinking games.
If you fell, you had to start from the bottom. And there's 3 different levels of the rotating spiked wall.

I took a real good long break before playing again and then it was total Zen to finish the game.

:laugh: Nowadays I just log out and uninstall the game for a day.

Nowadays you can buy pretty much the same game for PC and XBox, but these Harry Potter games are completely different between consoles. Chamber of Secrets PC is waaay different than Chamber of Secrets GameCube. So I have to pretty much compare all the files and see which files contain what music, and at what bitrate/sample rate.

I remember playing the PS1 games as a kid, but I don't recall much of the music. I should emulate them one day for the sake of nostalgia.

Soule's music is great, and probably better than what Williams did for the series outside of a couple themes.

I didn't, but I know my older brother played the first or second (probably the first) on the GameCube a lot, and we owned the PC version of the first for a while. I never got around to trying it out.
