its actually working out pretty good.... good picture, very bright & crisp. Im gettin my HD cable box next week, that will be the real test.

2 things i dont like: Only 1 A/V jack in the rear, the 2nd is on the side of the tv & the remote seems to have a lag to it.... Im using a universal from my cable box... so mute point.

LCDs from Toshiba are in the average to good range in term of quality.

If you're going for a Toshiba, I'd advise you to get a Regza 32RV530. A bit bigger than your 26 inch, but with a clear upgrade in overall performance and picture quality.

It will cost more than your 26", but Toshiba still offers those higher end LCDs for a lot less than most of its competitor. Even though they aren't really on par with the big 3 (Samsung (at the top right now when it comes to LCD), Sharp and Sony), not many viewers can see a difference between the picture quality, or just don't care that much. The big 3, as I call them, offer more advanced technologies and features, but they also charge a lot more for similar screen size.

If you're on a budget, Toshiba is a good compromise between fidelity, quality and price. You could also consider the LG 32LG60 or even cheaper for similar specs would be the VIZIO VO32LF.


Personally, I wouldn't get anything under 32" since none of the smaller sets offer 1080p resolution which is critical for my viewing distance (when watching HD content) and computer utilities (like illustration).





EDIT: It would also be a good thing to consider the refresh rate of the 26av502u. At 8 ms, you will most likely suffer from noticeable motion blur when watching sports or playing video games. It was 400 bucks, a steal in my estimation... i have the dough to spend on a larger tv also. I dont know what all the specs were, but standing in front of the LG, Sony, Samsung, Vizio, Proscan and some other brand, the Toshiba had the best picture IN 26". Just my opinion.

Theres also a "Game Mode" function (single button on the remote) that reduces the response time by 45%, per the manual at least....

I bought Wanted on DVD today (<blink>10% off!!!</blink>). In a year of some great comic movies this one was only good IMO, I'd never even heard of the story until the movie was announced so I can't say much on it as an adaptation but it's really enjoyable. Not for those who have a hard time with suspending their disbelief. If TDK was the film that made super-hero movies more believable, this did the opposite.

It's pretty ridiculous. The packaging's sweet though, and James McAvoy, man. Woof!

Yes and no. I like it because it's a lot cheaper then a full bluetooth keyboard and mouse, you can plug it into a usb port to charge it and it's right there on the game pad. But I'm still not used to typing on it. I also think the touch keypad mouse is kinda a waste, the analoge sticks work just fine.
