i have a limited collection of laser discs, starting from the ultrarare limited edition of the lion king.
ive probably watched them only once. while the video and audio quality were super for its time (as is with every new technology) that could ALMOST rival dvds, i would still prefer to watch my vhs's because LDs were fucking noisy, and i hated to change discs.

nowadays laser discs are truly obsolete.

The problem with Laserdiscs, is that sincerely, you can't watch them much, they deteriorate with every watch. It's normal and happens with every disc.

It's obvious we're talking about the collection appeal of it.

Well, I ended up purchasing it. I hope that it will protect my phone, it's beautiful though, I hope it looks really nice in person, too. Can't wait to receive it.

Bad news, it's been confirmed since weeks ago that the Episodes 4-6 are just repackages of 1997/2004 releases, at least on CD. The new is on vynil and digital, where there's been remasters of the original soundtracks in LP to HQ.

But soon we'll know if that's definitely true.

The same material for the original trilogy has been being repackaged for years, decades now.

Does not matter to me - to my ear they sound alright, thankfully (THANK GOD) and I don't have any Star Wars on CD so that box looks neat to me.

Awesome. :) I am a teenager myself (15) and I've played all of the Halo games except for Halo Wars and Halo 5: Guardians. Even after playing 5, and any other, 2 will most likely always remain my favorite, Combat Evolved and 3 are in the same rank for me. :p

-Dating Anyone under 21 at this point feels to weird for me.
Then I feel like a creep, even though I didn't know, and when I tell them my age it becomes one of those 'shared o we all fucked up' scenes.


But, the REAL issue is a situation that happened last month:
I meet with some friends at a part, and start hitting it off with a cute girl...but she asked me "which school I went to"...and it a little something like this:
I said: O, I graduated.
She said: Cool, so are you going to college?
I said: I graduated, college.
She said: O, so you're one of those really smart kids that went in early.
I said: No, I was one of those semi-slow kids that graduate when I was in my mid 20s.
She said: *nothing, bit of an awkward pause*.
I said: Uh...what's the matter?
She said: I thought you were, a LOT younger, I'm graduating HIGH SCHOOL in May.
I said: O.
She said: O.
I said: So, congrats and sorry?
She said: Yeah, we both fucked up didn't we.
Then we shook hands and parted.

Now, if this happened once in a while I'd be flattered, but at this point?
It seems to happen once a damn month or more.

I've decided to buy the Turtle Beach Ear Force Recon 50p headset, after reading a review of it (http://www.hardwareheaven.com/2015/10/turtle-beach-ear-force-recon-50p-review/); I've been pleasantly surprised: music listening isn't the best I could get, but it's still an improvement over my previous gear… As far as gaming goes, this product is making me re-discover the amount of care game developers put into mixing the audio. Heck, I might go deaf if I play Call of Duty.
What I wanted most, though, was something which kept all the noise "in" and if I have to trust my partner's words, this headset actually delivers on that side of things even when using high volumes. It seems I can play without bothering anyone for real, now.
A nice product, overall, multi platform compatibility and ease of use are always welcome features.

I smoked a bit heavy in middle school, quit when I went to HS because I had to pay for my own cigs instead of stealing/bumming them off others.

Being Nolan, I was expecting to have my mind messed with, even if only a little, fairly near the beginning. Interstellar did that. Inception threw you straight in at the deep end from the very opening. Memento similarly. But this one didn't. It didn't feel like a Nolan film for a long time... I kept expecting some kind of twist, but it didn't happen and didn't happen and didn't happen and then it did. And then it did again. And again. And again. So although it was late in coming, it still satisfied my mind-messing expectations. Good ol' Nolan.

I doubt that the Episodes take up much Space, James didn't even start filming in 16:9 until Episode 100,
i mainly want a convinient Source for watching Episodes 1 - 100, the show went downhill a lot after
#105, Dark Castle, which was the last really good one. Also hoping for lots of Bonus Material.

You can buy it. I read some reviews, it may be worth it. The only bad thing is that there has been edits for obvious copyright reasons.

It really shouldn't look any different than DVD.

It's all SD content and not HD.
So they're compressing to probably MPEG-2 with DVD specs (maximum 9MB/s for video bitrate).
They're not going to pump up to 20MB/s for SD conent, just because they can with all that space.
The audio will probably be AC3 stereo @192kbps.
Stereo AC3 only gets mastered at maximum 192 (since it doesn't make a literal difference after that).
Surround sound AC3 is either 384 or 448.

Max video resolution will be 720x480 (NTSC) or 720x576 (PAL).

If you're lucky, they'll encode to AVC/H264 instead, as bluray spec allows it/
Better compression and quality over MPEG-2 compression (the only format allowed for DVD).

The uncompressed masters are probably DVCpro (Apple formats).
And with bitrates over 50/100/200 MB/s.
It would only allow about a few episodes per [BD-50] disc.
The Apple codecs are not part of the BD-spec either.

And the masters might be in a chromasubsampling of 4:2:2, which is not any standard in DVD or BD.
Standard is 4:2:0, so downsampling is always required.

Publishing SD content to BD like this should be identical to a set of multiple DVD's.
Except you don't have to switch discs.

So this should be a really good thing.

Why a lot of studios don't do it?
It would absolutley confuse everyone.

Reviews are what I would expect.
I don't think many Jackie Chan films were preserved well enough with "HD" in mind at the time they were made.
Back then, there was only "cinema" and then "vhs". DVD is all SD, so it doesn't matter that much.
But I don't think China really cared to preserve anything for future-proofing. A lot gets lost with only SD scans lying around to blow up to HD.

I think I'll rip these and convert to SD. They should turn out better than existing DVD's.
:laugh: this is "Mastered in 1080p" for DVD as it is "Mastered in 4K" for BD.

Melee is apparently the best Smash if you're actually good at the game and want to play competitively.

That's why they have it every Year at EVO alongside the current Smash Title.

It wasn't, and Mr. Iwata himself made sure of that. He fixed a good chunk of the bugs himself to make sure the game came out on time.

With all this arguing about Smash Bros., it's almost like there never should've been another game. :)

In all seriousness, I feel each game has it's own appeal. 64 for pure nostalgia, Melee for competitive play, Brawl for starters/causal players, and Wii U/3DS for the more refined experience. It all depends on what you want out of a fighting game. I just like to experiment with all of them, since I'm not great at fighters. As the result, I can get more of a taste and experience in order to refine my skills in games in general. That's my perspective.

This was weird thing to put out the year after the film came out. Bought it for the extra commentary and additional deleted scenes. They also put in the HISHE shorts here, even though they're already on the internet. Whatever.

movie-censorship doesn't catch all the edits. It mostly does scenes that were edited for censorship.
There were a few movies I looked at and it was missing several scenes between the versions.
Scenes that didn't merit censorship but just were edited for whatever reasons. Time, lagging the story, etc.

I'll have to run a comparison between the DC and the Ultimate Cut.
Hopefully the Ultimate is just the DC with the cartoon inserted. And the additional scenes that establish the comic segue (newspaper stand and the kid).

Hope you don't regret Pan. I watched it in theatres just to hear Powell's score in surround. No regrets. Movie was.. meh. It's watchable.. but it depends of the people. The movie has some serious, very visible flaws going on.

I have a pre-film edition of the book, and now the film edition. I like both covers. I'm gonna give one to a friend for their birthday I think. Just have to decide which one.

Zootr�polis (Banda Sonora Original) available in iTunes Store Spain. Since the movie just came out today in Spain, the soundtrack is available for digital download. Dunno about the CD, but I'll buy it whenever I see it.

Still looks similar to me. Way too similar. Is it the digital web nature..? I need the technological input of fellas like Zaralyth or Sparktank (and others I may not know who also know about this, may be welcomed) to know if this FLAC is legit to keep.
