I had heard about something called "Monster" -- boy am I glad I looked up the info on that. Apparently it costs ridiculously more and most reviews indicate it doesn't give any of the improvements it claims.

Agent: Unless you bought a new TV recently, I'd recommend not getting any HDMI cables. I really doubt if your old tube set even has HDMI.
Lastly, I agree about the Monster cables. Overpriced hype, those. For what it's worth, if the Belkin was selling at it's regular price of RM79.99(~US$25), I would have bought regular no-brand cables instead, which were going for RM20(~US$7). The PS3 will be running at best at 1080i with only stereo sound anyway. That's the best my TV supports.

I think mine is Belkin, too. If you're not going to get an HDTV right away, Agent, you could always grab some component cables. The official Sony ones are $25 and have worked splendidly for my PS2 (they work for both consoles). It's not going to be ideal, but it should be better than just the included composite cables.

My latest purchase was a GigaWare 4GB MP3 Player from RadioShack. I got it for only $30 as a Pre-Thanksgiving Sale special. :) It's a low-end player, but it has an OLED display, 4gb storage, Equalizer, built-in speaker, and an FM radio to boot. :)

Gigaware products make me weary, I've had a few headsets over the years and I found them to be a lower end product for what I paid. I've never seen their MP3 players but $30 was a pretty great deal. That and I love FM radio capability, I find myself tuning into my college radio station in classes on hip hop Thursday via Zune.

USB hub is useless. PS3 refused to detect PS3 Eye when connected to hub. In the end I need to waste both USB ports- one for keyboard/mouse set and another for Eye. Also, I don't really want the EyePet game, it's just that it's the only way over here to get a PS3 Eye (plus, it reduced the cost of the Eye a bit. Amazon wants US$35 for the eye alone. For the kit, I only paid US$58 for a Blu-Ray game and the Eye). For some reason Sony is not willing to bring in only the Eye. I used it to test if the PS3's drive is working correctly (out of worries that some people have reported receiving a PS3 Slim with a dud drive). Drive is good. PS3 Slim is Go!

Just purchased a new headset from the Skype shop, FREETALK Everyman (USB). I've given all the garbage in the stores a try, I'm always on Skype, and it was on sale + free shipping. I'm hopeful about this one though, it has some neat qualities too it.

Not exactly a purchase, but I traded USB hubs with my dad. Gave him the useless USB hub I got yesterday in exchange for a older hub I gave him months earlier. I'm not sure what the differences between these two are, but the older hub worked flawlessly with the PS3, allowing me to connect both the keyboard and the Eye to it. Plus, I now have three spare USB ports, too.

Got me a 6-plug two-pin power strip. Plugged it into the step-down, and plugged the PS3, Wii, and for good measure, the TV into it. The TV has wide-voltage support anyway (110-240v), so giving it half the voltage it was previously getting doesn't hurt. Previously it was getting 230v, which is the power standard for South East Asia.

As for the step-down overloading, well, see the picture. Specifically, the black thing the strip is connected to. That little monster is rated 400va, which I reckon is more than enough to power all three devices. Heck, from my understanding, before the thing fell into my hands, it was used at a local Sharp factory to power some Japan-native heavy machinery.

I Saved Big Money at "Menards"....and not on home building materials either. :P





Yes...Menards does sell electronics during Black Friday (and technically all year round, but it's limited to small items such as headphones), mainly "MP4 Player" ChiPods, cheap off-brand DVD players, and micro CD Shelf Systems like these.

This was a replacement for an older, cheaper "Electro Brand" shelf system, which still works, but the CD player can act up at times, and it's remote is useless due to very limited range. This one I got was a leftover from the Black Friday sales, and it was still priced at $24.98. It's a "jWIN" CD Shelf System that has the usual features like CD, AM/FM Radio, and mp3 player input, but it also has a Bass Boost speaker system and a better remote that you don't have to aim straight at the sensor like my old system. It sounds great, and the system works well so far.

When I added everything to my cart it subtracted the most expensive, so I tested it with other games and ended up snagging Twilight Princess for free compared to paying $33. Overall, I got Ratchet and Clank Going Commando & Up Your Arsenal and Twilight Princess for $24 + free shipping.

I'm overly excited.

1:01 was the first basic DVD release. In it they did some small editing like fixing any spelling errors BUT it was done on a bad copy of the film print so the movie is dark as hell, I;m not talking about the story line or tone I'm talking about how you can't see anything that happens at night.

1.11 is THE definitive version of the movie; It's released both on DVD & Blu-Ray, the contrast is fixed, and all the deleted scenes have been edited back in which I've heard are all important character scenes.

For some reason instead of just skipping 1.01 and release 1.11 like almost all the other countries here they're putting out a "broke disc" and making us buy multiples and worse confusing gift givers and people who want to enter the franchize.

(Still getting use to calling it current gen) Gamestop doesn't even have a GC tab anymore ;_;;; Meanwhile I'm trying to bring life back into my GC that has been plagued with party and casual games. I felt like I never took full advantage, unlike my PS2 that has hogged a very large percentage of my use and money. .

I have Cube version as well. I don't know exactly what you enjoy but look up Resident Evil 4, Metal Gear Solid Twin Snakes, Beyond Good & Evil, Alien Hominid, Viewtiful Joe, Tales of Symphonia, Star Wars Rogue Squadron II, Rogue Squadron III has on foot segments that are terrible but it also has almost all of Rogue Squadron II in it as a co-op game, if you haven't played the NES or N64 Zelda games them get the Collector's edition bonus disc, Plus I'm still looking for Pikmin and Eternal Darkness but I've heard good things so try to get those as well. It is pretty hard finding NGC things even when it was a new system so good luck.

You should get a Wii.
