Listening solely to music is pretty dull, imo. At the very least I browse the internet/chat in IRC while listening through an album. Most often I'll mute a game and listen to an album instead. I don't think I really find music interesting enough to sit in front of a stereo, doing nothing else.

I also never go see live bands. Well, I've been to a few (last one I went to was some ABBA tribute band with Rasse), but I don't think I've ever found the experience to be above listening to the same songs on CD at home.

Music is background noise to bolster whatever else I'm doing.

I do listen to music in the background while I'm on the computer a lot too. Probably more often than I just listen to it, in fact. I don't think it was until I actually got into records that I started really ever listening to music and not doing much else. I find it's much easier to get absorbed into it that way.

I know plenty of people who don't really get anything out of live music either and I think the two things are related. Live is my favorite way to hear music.

A lion ride-on toy. Just because.

Also:
- The Lion King Special Edition OST CD (finally got it to replace the 16-year-old cassette tape that my dad took and recorded The Eagles over the songs. And well, the ones I got from FFShrine refused to play when streamed to my PS3 :3 . With my ripping settings, the track streams to the PS3 flawlessly)
- Rhythm of The Pride Lands CD (just for the cover of Hakuna Matata that was supposed to come with the Asian CD edition of the Lion King OST, but was left out in the Asian cassette edition of the OST).

Lion-mania is go!

The activity of gently placing the record on the turntable and placing the needle on it and getting up to flip it over is pleasantly ritualistic as well. I find it very enjoyable. Plus records are much more interesting to collect than CDs and they are usually made out of a love of music and the vinyl format, since they are not economically sound.

Pretty much everybody on another forum I go to complained about the movie for being pretty much the little mermaid. It seems a simple concept to me that a movie would be better if the story were fresh rather than a re-imagining (or copy) of another (like how Avatar probably sucks less if you haven't seen Pocahontas/FernGully/Dances with Wolves/Last Samurai/lots of other movies and stories). Ignorance is bliss, I suppose.

To me it seemed that ponyo was an original story that was somewhat similar to the little mermaid. Sure, the main concept remains--

Female sea-dweller, daughter of a powerful sea authority, becomes human, falls in love with a man, they live happily ever after

--but the similarities end there. The story feels original to me, and I enjoyed it.

Every story has been done! I don't find it hard at all to enjoy a retelling of one if it's well done.

This is why summaries are not told as stories. If you tell the basics of a story it's boring, even if you haven't heard it before. What makes it interesting is the artistry used in the telling of it.

On an unrelated note, I like the idea of this being a complete ripoff of a Disney movie as revenge for The Lion King (which was a great movie, and also plagiarism.)

Everything is linear much like FFX, you're pretty much going from point A to point B, however the enemies are everywhere on the field to see much like in FFXII, when you enter into battle the screen does switch to a battle scene like older FF games. shops and weapon upgrades are all virtual and done at the occasional save point.

15 years? I think that's maybe a little harsh... but considering that would be around the time SE jumped in bed with Sony and gave birth to FFVII I guess that's probably accurate.

Except I enjoyed FFVIII lol.

FFVIII was the best. And I must agree with your first statement to.

The areas function like FFX, but with no towns. There are save points, and at those save points you can save obviously, but also there are virtual shops (menus only) there where you can buy/sell/etc.

that's retarded. i don't like that at all.

So, here's all the crap I've bought since I last posted (2 weeks ago). i forgot that I had Crank in my last post so dismiss that one.

My local Movie Gallery was going out of business so they had some serious sales on movies. That's where I got Crank 2, Ghost Rider, Spidey 2 & 3, War, Saw III & V, Quantum of Solace, and the Punisher War Zone. Only problem is they came in the retarded ass Movie Gallery DVD cases with a blue background, and the sleeve insert layed over that. So I had to go to the sleeve city website and order Blu-Ray cases (which is pretty fucking sweet).

On my two most recent trips to Wal-Mart I've picked up Kingdom of Heaven, Casino Royale, Bourne Ultimatum (Blu+DVD), Ponyo (Blu+DVD), Kung FU Panda, Madagascar 1 & 2, SAW VI, Ninja Assassin, Fantastic 4: RotSS + Daredevil: Director's Cut Twin Pack.

Then of course, I had to pick up XIII and GoW III. I also purchased The Taxidermist Add on for HEAVY RAIN, along with the PSOne Classic, Grandia.

New Slave Leia figure was at target and I had the coupon for $5 off so she wasn't even $3. Yes that's an extra pair of legs in a reclining position. She has ball jointed neck, underboob torso, shoulders, elbows, knees, ankles, & turning wrists and hips. The face is better in person than in the pic but the paint job on her mouth is a little over done on her left side also because of all the joints and her small stature she looks pretty meaty, and I'm not saying she looks fat I'm saying she looks like a Frank Frazzata women; all muscled but with quite a bit of soft pudgyness on her as well.

I didn't even realize it was J. Micheal Straczynski who wrote the story until I looked at it at home. That's a hard cover version BTW.

Though at first glance this may look like a lunchbox, it is actually a case for every episode of the Fleischer Superman cartoon. It was out in the 1940's, and the budget was ridiculous- it was something like $50,000 an episode which was just astronomical back then. As a result it is beautiful looking and it has some of the best animation I've ever seen. I'll try and get some clips up on my youtube soon.

This was only $5.99 because it's a few years old, but it still has figures up to 2007. It was worth the purchase for the Batman section alone, but it really makes me want to spend money.

Dr. McNinja is a must. I generally take long brakes with these story driven comics so I have a bunch to read at once.

Also check out Darths & Droids (http://darthsanddroids.net/archive.html).

It's about the star wars only existing as a guys D&D sci-fi campaign. It's got excellent writing considering it's using the prequels, some of the twists and manipulations done to the story are ingenuous in the way they mach up to the movies so perfectly yet are totally different.

I bought a canvas (Well, it was a 2 pack), some paint, and paintbrushies (that sucked D: )

I then proceeded to paint Batman on one. Joker shall go on the other.

The only thing I purchased today was a ticket to see Clash of the Titans, and I have mixed feelings about that movie.
