I was in HMV looking for something completely different, saw them and wondered why the hell I didn't already have them. So I made the purchase.

I purchased Dragon Ball: Origins. I've been having a tough time deciding which DS game to get next since I finished Syberia DS and until Jake Hunter Detective Story: Memories of the Past is released, so I was looking through a Nintendo Power at the end where they have a list of all the games they reviewed and it said it received a 7.0 so I found a review on YouTube that explained the gameplay and controls rather nicely so I purchased it off Amazon.

Bought it on a whim. I'm not very used to massive open-ended games such as this one, so I don't know how I will do. It looks awesome though. The thing that bugs me about these games is that you never have everything (having to drop some skills for others and things like that), but I suppose that's the point, having to take decisions.

A friend of mine lent me his copies of 2 and 3. That's how I got into the series.

I sent those games to Allen and Mandi respectively, because we hadn't talked in forever. We started talking again. So I needed to get another copy of 3 in case he wants them back.

I tried to buy a GH copy of 2 so I could play Born From a Wish (don't bother if you haven't; and then I could have given my regular copy to my friend). I was sent a regular copy (false advertising gloty). So that's 2 copies of 2.

I got the GH copy, so that's 3 copies of 2.

I bought tickets (a ticket, SINGLE AND LOVING IT) for da Wolverine movie (went Thursday night) and I paid to have a box shipped off today. Yay!

I like doing things alone. I go to the movies alone all the time, almost exclusively.

Last time I went with someone they wouldn't STFU and it almost took me out of the experience.

Going to the cinema alone is...unusual-ly unique!

I never go to the cinema for the sole purpose of seeing a film. If it's one I'm looking forward to, sure, it sweetens the deal, but I've always seen the entire thing as more of a social event and I wouldn't ever go alone. I'd be patient and wait for the DVD.

It would have to be an amazingly spectacular film for me to see it solo. Lord of the Rings I would have gone to see alone if no one else wanted to go.

Yesterday I bought some Culvers for my mom and I. For those that don't know Culvers is like a hamburger place, good as hell.

Actually I'll be honest. I had a ptj at a cinema for about six months and there were quite a few regulars who came alone. Huge film critics/buffs I assumed. Some guys would try to explain the mythos behind this or that generic action flick while I burnt and re-burnt the popcorn.

The theatre experience attracts a select audience, but outside the social aspect I've never thought it was enough to replace the comfortability of a good home set up.

how did you burn the popcorn? it's so easy not to, unless you're completely oblivious to the kettle.

I enjoyed seeing Snakes on a Plane opening night with a group of friends, but outside of that, I can't think of a time that I've preferred someone's company while there.

I love going like to early morning showings. The theatre is usually empty and I can sit where I want w/o worrying about being next to people. Unless the theatre has the arms that move up, I almost abhor going because I end up sitting on the end of a row so at least one side of me is free.

Thing is with all the glitches it needs patches and with the new patches the old mods stop working -_-. Aiming is pretty wonky too. For an assured hit use the right click for zoom/iron sights. It starts of pretty slow, but it picks up fast.

lol, I live at home with mum. I don't pay rent. I pay for cell phones (mum's and my own), landline telephone, internet, electricity.

I don't go out much, I prefer staying at home, all my friends usually either come over to mine or I head over to theirs, we only occasionally eat out or go see a movie and we usually only drink at home rather than paying for drinks out. I don't have a girlfriend, haven't for many years so that's a load off the wallet and in terms of family, there's only mum and myself so I'm not constantly needing to go shopping for presents all year round.


Cell phone bill - $90-$130 monthly
Landline phone - $25 monthly
Internet - $60 monthly
Electricity - $150-$200 quarterly
Charity - $60 monthly

At most each month I'm only paying $350. Rent and groceries are taken care of by mum (extra food obviously I pay for myself).

I work at a video store part-time (10-15 hours/week) and usually that's around $300/week. I also build computers on the side as well as a bit of photography/editing work when my friend requires it for his business, income from that varies from $0-$500/week.

EDIT : Usually I charge around $150-$250 for assembling, modding, overclocking and testing a computer. Photography pays better, usually $200-$300/day (normally it's helping out for a wedding, I'm usually backup photographer, taking photos of family and friends while my mate focuses on bride and groom). I usually get asked to build 1-3 computers a week and friend calls me in for help maybe once or twice a month.

Awesome we have the same TV :D For the price I wasn't expecting it to be as good as it is. I originally didn't want to spend more than $900 so it looked like my only choices were in the 26" range but then this little beaut turned up down from $1,100.00AUD to $888.00AUD so I snapped it right up. I'm also really glad that I got a non-Full HD TV cause a lot of the content on my HDDs is all really crappy res, e.g. I have Simpsons Seasons 1-20 on my HDDs and a lot of them are 320x240 which would have look SHIT stretched to 1080p. At 720p they're more than bearable.

Oh and what do you have for the antenna? I haven't gotten one yet so currently I can't watch free to air TV on it. Can only watch whatever I have on my HDDs or on DVD.

That cover is horrible. My copy has a much better one.

A lot of people used to make fun of me for still living at home with my mum but I enjoy it. We don't get along all the time but what family does? All we've got is each other.
We both get our personal space. I keep to my room and mum tends to keep to the lounge room (which is why I built the HTPC for her). I could easily be living out of home with friends but honestly don't want to lol. When living with friends, there's always someone who doesn't pay their share of rent on time, there's always someone who doesn't clean the place or doesn't do their dishes, there's always someone who eats the your food that's in the fridge with your name on it.

I don't get those problems. Mum always pays the rent, she does the cooking (although I can cook myself, some dishes better than her :p), we both clean each Saturday, I wake up on Sundays to my clothes washed and ironed :D (I'm hopeless at washing, last time I washed something for myself, my shirt shrunk so bad that I couldn't even put my head into it) and we respect each others personal space. To top it off if I want to have a party (usually only happens a couple times a year), my mum heads over to one of her friends places for the weekend. We just lock all the valuable, easily breakable stuff in her room and then I get to go nuts with my friends.

So yeah when people laugh at me for living with my mum, I let them. I know I've got it good. Even when mum stops working and retires, I'll just have to earn enough for the both of us to keep living together.
