Ya. There are some ps2 games that were pressed on blue discs, like Ico and Rez (I hez both). I'm not quite sure what the formats are on the discs but it seemed to be used for games that really wanted to pay attention to their graphics. It causes the ps2 to work extra hard to read them though :( I can't seem to find an exact answer as to why they started doing that. I'm not sure but I think scratches are more of a problem on these discs too....

Then I gave a bland description of what I use the items for, because so far, everything I have bought recently has been utterly dull, so thought I'd poke fun at that. With hindsight, I should have said I'd use the toilet roll to sweeten my tea, and the sugar to wipe my arse.

Take note of the pointy ears on the hairpiece.

The robe underneath the samurai armor is a pretty flower pattern and like the spartan removing the helmet changes the expression by uncovering face paint details.

These guys are short packed and now that lego dropped the bar codes for these little Braille bumps it's super hard finding these guys if the stores even carry them to begin with.

I'm gonna blow your minds, kiddies, because apparently you have no idea what the blue discs are about. The blue discs are pressed on CDROMs - blue/purple polycarbonate (which totally invalidates your theory). Sony used the blue discs for the PS2's first year. When they figured out that dual layer DVD's had a higher capacity (obviously), they switched over development in 2001. Older PS2 games have blue discs, likewise the newer games use DVD's. Look at the cases if you don't believe me.

Didn't know that at all. You did indeed blow my mind.

Shoot, I've known about the blue discs for awhile now, and I didn't get a PS2 until 2006. When it first came out, that was the big thing, PSone discs were black while the PS2 was going to have blue discs. Cause you know, colored discs are cooler.

Back in the day, when I was an Amazon noob, I got totally mugged off by one of those indie sellers. I ordered what I thought was MGS3: Snake Eater, turns out it was some mock up made by some Fagin-esque rogue. Give aways included the phrase 'DVD GAME!' on the spine of the case, and the tiny bits of cardboard that were stuck to the disc.

Actually, I'm working on a device for destroying Barney B'harnii by means of yoyodynamic harmonic dissonance. By combining the heterodyne multiplexed frequencies of these with that of an earlier experiment involving Care Bear Stares and Tuneyville Choo Choos then blasting the result through a Jumbotron, I estimate that I should be able to create a cyanic energy wave that's powerful enough to take down the hell wyrm.

My last memory of Dr. Pepper is that it's not only ridiculously expensive (six dollars for a can?!? ok, so to be fair it was at an imported food fair, they don't produce Dr. Pepper locally over here) and it's taste had my tongue begging me to stop drinking and trash the remains. Of course, since I paid six dollars for that thing, I just told myself to shut up and finished it. It didn't end well.

Because a good appearance is key to selling a food product. A food product that contains great shoddily but isn't presented well doesn't give off a good aura - it suggests that whoever made it didn't take pride in the making of it, or put much thought behind it.

Well, these were oysters, so they were probably difficult to position in an attractive manner. Plus the food you see in ads are dressed up to look enticing. In fact, quite a bit of the food that appears in food ads aren't even thoroughly cooked.

Lunch for myself. Bad mood.

Latest purchase: a 2GB RAM module from Crucial for that netbook. Third time's the charm, this time it worked. God knows why said netbook is picky on which RAM modules go into it and rejected Kingston ValueRAM ones. Heck, from what I've gathered on the internet, it rejected pretty much every module not made by Crucial and half of the Crucial ones. It even rejected all official Dell modules.

So I was actually taking a 50% calculated risk with the Crucial module, and was lucky to be successful.

A friend told me last night that some guy was selling a load of stuff at a stall outside my local shopping center, so I went to see if he was still there today. He was, and was selling these two gems, amidst a field of garbage and for the price, these were a bargain.

Trypticon was being sold for $40 AUSD. Talked the guy into selling him to me for $30 AUSD.

$80AUSD for these guys. Sad thing is, the reissue of the Predacons came out last year and is still being sold at a high price.

The guy selling them had no clue, as he was (in his words) a collector of all things natural and unaltered... whatever the fuck that is. Still.. his loss, my gain.

Nah, I managed to get the unsupported modules returned and exchange it for a DVD writer drive I plan to use on an upcoming project. The second time around, I didn't even buy the RAM, I took the netbook to the shop and let their technician have a crack at it, and they failed, so I wasn't charged for that.

A high-definition television set at 1080p and associated accessories. The TV was a really sweet deal - less than $300. Easily the best with the features that it had at the price I paid for it.

If anything looks a mess, it's only because I haven't taken down the old TV yet and so there's a lot of wires floating about and such. That's why the new TV is on the floor.

Make sure you keep your receipt and warranty info handy; Vizio has an awful failure rate on their lcd panels. Can't beat the bargain though, considering that you're more likely to not have any trouble. :)
