You can download updates and burn them to discs on the 360. I did this years ago when there was no means of hooking the 360 up to the internet and I wanted to play something that needed an update.

I am glad patches can be released to fix games, but I am not a big fan of companies charging for stuff that's technically already on your game disc.

Tried Virtual PC yet? The latest version supports passing USB devices to the guest operating system, and is also free for Win7 users (A copy of XP is needed tho, MS is giving it away for free to Win7 Ultimate users- just install the XP mode package if you have the Ultimate flavor of Win7. Otherwise it's time to bust out the old copy of XP that's gathering dust in the corner, or score a copy off eBay or something). The only downside is that it requires that your current CPU supports hardware virtualization, meaning that you need a pretty recent CPU chip, something from at least two years ago. Microsoft has a tool on their website that lets you see if your CPU supports Virtual PC. I suggest giving it a spin.

Although adding a Micro SD card is not necessarily a bad thing. First thing I did when I got my phones was to grab a SD card for extended storage and backups.

Yesterday I picked up KICK ASS collected edition from the HMV bargain bin. It's okay. Mark Millar used to be better and John Romita, Jr's art is good (which is less than normal for him) but the colouring makes it look like shit.

I haven't saw the film yet. TBH, the book was so light on plot I can't imagine how they made a movie from it. It was a fun read, but slim pickings for a 90 minute movie plot.

I'll hopefully be wrong. I'll rent it someday.

Only the first season was released in the US though, right? Make sure you download the second season afterwords or something because otherwise the ending will be torture!

Only Dice Killing Chapter is important to the story, really. I know the first one leads into the actual story but it's pretty much a joke episode (although the soul brothers stuff is great). Other stuff is just joke stuff and the Rena-centric episode isn't in the main continuity.

Ultimately I think Matsuribayashi-hen is the most satisfying end to the series but your mileage may vary. Ryukishi07 wrote them both so either works!

You could play the games for the last 2 chapters too, if you wanted, Hatsukoi. Pretty sure they're all available in english now. I could be wrong though Matsuribayashi-hen might not be out yet. There's an anime exclusive chapter in season 2 plus a neat little one-off episode. I'd recommend playing the games if you can get past the art though, there's so much content that didn't make it into the anime. The TIPS are really neat and some of my favorite stuff is in there.

Related, my last purchase was The Lord of the Rings trilogy on Blu. The transfer on Fellowship was horrendous, Two Towers a little better, and pretty good on Return of the King.

When they release the extended editions, they better bloody well clean up the transfer on all of them. I WANT PIXAR QUALITY BLU DAMNIT.

I was a HD-DVD supporter in the early days of the war (mainly because i didn't have a PS3 then, only a 360). I probably bought about 3 or 4 HDDVDs at full price.

The rest of my collection (about 40 or so) I picked up for $2-$4 each from bargain bins after Blu won. Best value 1080p ever.

It's a good thing Blu-ray won the war or else slavery would be legal.

Anywho, got me a Netgear WNR2000 wireless router for my new Comcast cable interbutts. When I set up my wireless network I named my SSID "SeriesOfTubesGTFO". lol

I miss the insane deals that Blus and HDs would have to try to outsell each other, though. I haven't seen a 'buy 2 get 1 free' blu-ray deal in forever.

Latest purchase: An Auzentech Prelude card and a GeForce210 card, both for the Media Center box which doesn't need to be too powerful. Since I have two other boxes for PC gaming (plus, I rarely do PC gaming nowadays anyway. The boxes are more like for my moxie and the occasional run of sim games, because console ports of sim games tend to suck).

So I took my sister to get her computer ckeck out and we watched X-3 on a huge 50 inch screen in high def and Ian McKellen was gorgeous in HD but all the special effects was really shitty looking and where even more odviuous in HD than on DVD. THe same thing with the pirates clip.

I guess I'd mainly get movies with no cgi in them and cartoons on blu ray seeing as how a cartoon is entirely an effect.

It's sad that Clover is no more, however, I'm glad a sequel is arriving on DS instead of PS3. Mainly because I don't have a PS3, and the DS's capabilities make this entry an interesting endeavor.

I've been watching Skanker play P3P and it doesn't look all that great. I have absolutely no idea how it is the best rated game on PSP. The voice acting is pretty bad and the story/characters - from what I've seen/heard from Skanker/read - is the black sheep in the series (I think P2 is generally regarded as the best??? but the gameplay looks kinda bad).

Basically I'm upset such an okay game is regarded as better than something as awesome as Monster Hunter.

You really need to play it.

It's pretty clear I was talking about the main series. Besides, Persona is really only part of SMT because of the poor sales of the first game (which didn't have SMT anywhere in the name).

Do it, now! Both parts of P2 can be done because of a fantastic translation patch, and P1 has been given a PSP port, with some nice updates.

I finally bought my own car (again) :D I used to have a '98 Dodge Dakota that I got off my uncle in 2006 when I turned 16, but it died on me in under a year. Since then I've been using an extra family car, but two days ago I finally got my own car. It's a '95 Ford Explorer. While it's older it's in amazing condition. I bought it off an elderly couple whose ad I saw on craigslist. I was skeptical because of how good it looked and had my grandfather check it out, and he said it was just in great condition since they were the only owners. Anyway, I got it for $2800 but haven't gotten to drive it yet :( I got to wait until Monday so I can get temporary plates and transfer the title. I'll have pics up soon.

Anyways, I recently came into the possession of a Super Nintendo Entertainment System of which was given to me by a friend. I keep an eye on his kid while he works sometimes, and he had it laying around, gathering dust, with twenty some odd games. So he just gave it to me as sort of a payment, figuring I'd make some use of it. I guess, I didn't have a need for one, but Ok.

There were a plethora of original Gameboy games that he had packed in with them too. . .

So about 3/4 of the games I had no interest in, so I took them to a local game/media trade store called The Exchange where I took in a grand total of $40, of in-store credit, for the lot of 'em. For that in-store credit, I got these two awesome games:


Though, the disk is scratched enough for it to be unreadable to the 360, so I have to go and get it cleaned, and it's The Exchange's only copy. Bummer.

Been shooting for this game for quite some time now, and now I had the perfect opportunity to get it. Perfect condition too.

Well, you have to look at it from a different perspective. RE1DC was the original Black label cover, and is still in near mint condition. If you look on ebay, this game is starting off at $45, and there is no telling what actual condition the game it is until you receive it (the seller's and buyer's opinion of condition can vary).

Legacy of Kain is also black label cover game. These are the first release of these games before they became "Greatest Hits" which are less sought after than the original black label cover versions.

$17.50 per game is not a bad deal at all considering their condition and being the first release versions of the game. If you ever find versions of these games in pristine condition for less than $10, then I will gladly validate TK's somewhat lame statement.

As for sharing... yeah, we used to share these games... but since I owned all the other games in the series but these two, I thought it'd be better to actually own them and complete my series collections. He needed the money, and I wanted to complete my collection... so, it seemed reasonable. As he gets older and puts more focus on supporting his family, video games are become less relevant in his life.

Things go for prices that they are not actually worth on ebay constantly. Especially old video games that collectors brainlessly pay out the ass for because they are the rare first edition or some such nonsense. Just because paying $17.50 for RE1 isn't as bad as paying $45 doesn't mean it's actually worth $17.50.
