This is the Diva/Midge face. I love Midge too. But this is my first non-redhead Caucasian Midge. I do have two Native American Barbies that had the Midge face, but mostly Midge when you see her is a redhead and I don't actually think I've ever seen her as a blond before now so having this one is cool. This is a Steffie sculpt and she's one of the oldest Barbie faces they still use. This particular one reminds me very strongly of the old Twist and Turn Mod girls they made in the late 60's in person. I'm really kind of crazy about her. You can't tell really from her promo pics but she's something else out of her box. I'm not usually a modern Steffie Barbie fan but I really like this one.

Next two on my list are the blond and brunette Basics Kens. Eventually I may also add the AA guy and an AA gal to my collection but that will probably be it. I've very, very picky about what goes up on my doll shelf and I think that will be enough of a mix for me to have a really nice collection of this type of model Barbie. Any more than that would be rather redundant.

I went to the store this morning to buy some cereal. I usually don't eat cereal or get up this early, but today I really felt like some cereal. We have a rather lackluster selection of cereal in the apartment, due to my wife's tastes in things like "fruit" and "healthy;" so I knew for sure if I wanted anything with real artificial flavor I was going to have to go the store and get it. So there I am, at Food Lion, wandering up and down the cereal aisle, when my buddy Craig comes up to me. He's all "Hey Alan, let me get you that 10 dollars I owe you." He then informs me that there were brownies in the store if I wanted some. "Brownies!?" "Nay!" I exclaim. I go off in search of this treat of mythic proportions, but stop mid-step when I realize I am about to abandon what I originally came for... cereal. I quickly scour the aisles, searching for the one true cereal that could sate me. Finally, the heavens part and all is made clear to me... Caramel Pecan Crunch. It has everything I could ever want in a cereal; delicious caramel, crunchy pecans and little clusters of granola. Better yet, it's on closeout for 2.99 and I have the last box. After quickly performing my success kid pose, I head towards customer service to find the aforementioned piece of chewy fudge goodness. Upon my arrival, I pay for my cereal, but I don't see any brownies. Frustrated, I ask the cashier behind the counter "BROWNIES!?!" She points slightly to her left, where lies the tupperware container that had but a few supple portions remaining. She says "oh, Julie brought some." I quickly snatch one, but not two, as I did not want to be greedy; and I sample it's glorious innards. I have gone to a better place, friends, I tell you now... one bite and I was in a different place. A better place, as I said. A place without the hassles of cereal and my friend Craig who owed me 10 dollars and the fact that my jacket smells because it sat in my grandfather's house for 3 years and he kind of smells and so does my jacket, also I spilled spaghetti sauce on it like three weeks ago. Regardless, nothing good lasts forever, I realize as my cloud slowly descends back to the mortal plane. I bid my farewell to the cashier, quickly turning before I am tempted again by the little slice of heaven that I had but for a moment. I wave to Julie, who for some reason bakes brownies before coming to work at 7am. Who was I to judge though, as it had all played out to my benefit. On my way out, Craig appears and gives me my 10 dollars. "Thanks, Craig," I said with a smile. "Alan, you ignorant slut!" he exclaims as he slaps my face and walks away. On the way home, I think about the direction my life is taking. Cereal, brownies, grocery stores, what does it all mean? Oh, nevermind, I'm home. I only live like three minutes away, you know.

I was tempted to give this game a shot, but after playing the first Paper Mario on Gamecube, I just couldn't get into it. Is this game even worth checking out? I thought of buying it since it's a "Nintendo Selects" now.

Why? It's a multi-platform game...I played it on 360, I just wanted to OWN it this time around.

It's pretty cool, if you're into 'light metal' (Black Sabbath/Motley Crew/MegaDeth/ect) it's even cooler.

I do this when I anticipate too many releases that are near each other:
I'll save money. Then spend one day (not the entire day, but a good portion of it. So about a month ago, I got:
- Dragon Tattoo trilogy books. The actual books plus audiobooks for iPod.
- iPad.
- 360 games: Skyrim, RAGE, G.O.W.3

Lots of stuff. Expensive. But worth it since I spent months saving. For iPad, paid little by little each month. Apple has this thing where you show College ID, you get to pay little by little if you can't pay all at once for something. It's how I got my new MacBook a couple of months ago.

I don't conform. Analog sticks are too mainstream ;)

Seriously, I tried, trust me. The PS one pad has a stick, and I use it quite well . and as the PS2 and 3 pads aren't that different...I'll probably try to buy a PS3 when money is less an issue. But I've always had troubles with the X box pads. Whether old or 360. As for the wii...I'd probably break the TV, the window or kill an innocent bystander with that thing.

Lastly...I don't play FPS much. well, not in a long time. I'd be more interested by games like the Old Republic, Skyrim, or older looking adventure games, through the online store.

Yet right now...I still have a few old games to replay from head to toe. Baldur's gate 2 alone can keep you interested for a long time, same for fallout 2 or KOTOR 2.

In fact...I guess I really am a retrogamer...

Nothing wrong with playing retro. I'm currently playing through Metroid for the first time, myself. I think there's a slight problem in not wanting to move to analog sticks, because some games work better with that kind of setup. Because of this, you miss out on a lot of great games.

Though, if you don't have a problem with the PSone's controller, and money is still an issue, I'd suggest getting a used PS2 for $50. It's backwards compatible with all your PSone titles, and you have access to a massive selection of titles from last generation. The PS2 is still relevant, even in all this HD craze, and there are plenty of great titles to choose from.

I would suggest using component cables for both your Wii and PS2. That should fix your problem, as some HD televisions have compatibility issues with analog video input. Wii component cables should run you about $30 whereas the PS2's will cost you less than $3 on Amazon.com.

From my experience MotorStorm Apocalypse in 3D is all kinds of awesome. For some reason I couldn't get into FPS games in 3D as much as I liked. btw, what size and how much for the TV?

Yeah, RGB = component; Yellow = composite. Mixing the two up leads to different conversations entirely. If you're having video lag issues with your component input, you may just have to deal with it or return the TV and get a different one. Otherwise, I'd have no idea how to fix that problem. I'd presume it'd be inherent to the device however.

Well, since I seldom use the PS2 anymore, no big deal. As for the Wii, looks like I have a reason to go for a Wii U now if it has HDMI outputs (the TV has 3 HDMI inputs. I'm using only two). Plus, I notice that the lag actually gradually goes away the longer I play, which I find very strange.

Even if it is six foot/meters/whatever, it shouldn't be more than 20/25. Be sure to buy these cables online, retial stores overprice them like hell. My local electronics store has hdmi cables for as much as 60$ - the same costs under 20 on Amazon.

Good point. Well, perhaps I should look into getting some cables from Amazon, as Wal-Mart was posting $30 for six foot HDMI cables. $12 sounds like a better deal to me. I was also looking into HDMI splitters at BestBuy, and their only option was listed at just over $100. I asked the clerk if they had anything cheaper, with which he gave me an "are you crazy?" attitude. I'm sorry, I can't afford $100 peripherals.

Wal-Mart and RadioShack are selling them for far cheaper, I think I'm gonna go with them.

Just check online prices for any electronics product. They're slightly cheaper because they cut out the middleman (retail), but these guys have to live from something as well.
