My last purchase is THE SECRET OF NIMH from Intrada and I am very disappointed. The sound is very "hissing", a little like the 2 first discs of their Conan edition. These people can't do proper work when the material is not in mint shape. I suspect, in the case of NIMH, they had not a DBX encoder to read the soundtrack, so there is permanent hiss behind the score... The last Varese edition is far better. For me, the best label in term of mastering is La-la Land and James Nelson's work...

Yes I know, sometimes they do some "hot mastering" thing on cd's (like Eric Labson on Varese who sometimes literally kill life in music), but in general it's very discreet and their mix are great. Listen Jane Eyre or their Flesh and Blood edition which is better than the Intrada... Kritzerland is also a great label in term hifi qualities (again James Nelson on board !)...
