The Phoenix is actually one of my favorites as well outta this set (though my absolute faves are Dr. Doom and Iron Man because they just look magnificent), I just love the pose. I never heard of Heroclix before I got that SE, I thought it was the manufacturer or something, until I recently googled it because I wanted to know if there were more than those 7 figurines and what these weird bases with the numbers mean. So I found out there's an entire game based around it.

Well, though, to be fair, he always appeared way smaller because he walks hunched over most of the time. He's not as tiny as people make him out to be. =p
And yea, they're still going. They recently released I think #150 and, as mentioned, extended to make them up to 200.
The DC series is a bit smaller if I recall correctly, but they have a Blackest Night special set where I've been toying with the thought of getting Agent Orange who's pretty much the only DC character who intrigues me.

Your scenario would never happen. You aren't commited to buying a game just because you clicked on it. You have to go through several windows to confirm your purchase and if you get that far without realising you've messed up then you have something wrong with you. You also aren't required to download a game you've purchased...

that first part of the story was half inspired by the true story of my neighbor.
he didnt actually did it, it was his little cousin. while messing around in the shop, he accidentally bought one of those shitty UNO-type games that cost 400 points.
400 points he was saving for toy soldiers (he had 600, and toy soldiers was on sale). he couldnt get any more points until after the sale, so he spent a WHOLE MINUTE saying "fuck".
case in point, he couldnt refund, he couldnt trade, and though he did erase the game later (after angrily playing it), he lost 400 MSP.


whereas on retail, nothing bad can possibly happen to prevent me from buying my selected game, which may or may not become rare over time.
turned out to be shitty? return it and get a better game, or trade it with a friend who actually liked it for something YOU like.

Being able to find a game cheaper in a store is not a good reason to dislike digital downloads. All it is is a good reason to buy the game from the store because it's cheaper than you could get it elsewhere. Many times you can find games on digital download services for cheaper than you would find them in a store, but this is not a reason to hate physical media either.

A person incapable of knowing what they are doing accidentally buying a game through a digital download service is not a good reason to dislike digital downloads. It's a good reason to disallow that child from accessing the store.

Back on topic somewhat: not exactly a purchase, but I got the WipEOut HD Fury bundle and The Last Guy for the PS3 as well as LocoRoco Midnight Carnival and LittleBigPlanet Portable for the PSP. I'd love to get LBP for the PS3 over The Last Guy, but it wasn't offered as part of the Welcome Back package in Asia :(

I also got WipEout HD FURY (PS3) and Little Big Planet (PSP) for free from Sony's "Welcome Back" Program (Loyalty +2). The camera is pretty good since it gets 720p, 720p 60fps, and 1080p along with 5 MP photos. It's water proof up to 10 feet. It's small and very portable however the quality does suffer in low light conditions. Also, I finally completed collecting the main part of the Guardians of Ga'hoole series and added one of the three extra books to my collection. Two more left to collect and I have finished what I started.

Don't get me wrong, I love physical copies. In fact, I have the Half Life Platinum Collection that I paid nothing for (it was a gift). Each disk also contains three individual key codes that are good for redeeming the entire collection on Steam. So essentially, I have three copies of the collection, for the price of one. Secondly, I had no idea that you paid next to nothing for Half Life and its companions (excluding Blue Shift), though you really, coming back to my point, just should have gotten the collection with all the titles. But since you were unable to grab Blue Shift, it's $5 on Amazon.com if you absolutely require it. However, Blue Shift is supposed to be included in the Adrenaline Collection, but even without it, it's not too bad considering the amount you paid for it.

As it stands, $15 is still a pretty good deal for five games (Half Life, Opposing Force, Blue Shift, Team Fortress Classic, and Counter Strike -- you also receive Day of Defeat, Ricochet, and Deathmatch Classic when redeemed on Steam) considering it's $15 used, and $90 new on Amazon for the physical copy.

A bunch of Leapfrog toys, another Teddy Beddy Bear plush, and oh, Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition (Add-On DLC version) for the PS3.

It's convenient too considering that I was asking my mom if I could have $10 for the movie theater. She said she would see if she had $10 sometime later but it just so happened that I played the lottery (I have only played three times before 7 weeks ago when I first turned 18. I had been resisting since then.) and got back $10.

I wouldn't like to call it luck or skill but rather fate, act of god, or whatever controls reality really. That or maybe my recent very positive and happy attitude. In the end though, I don't truly feel like I deserve the money but I am happy that it came my way nonetheless.



EDIT: I probably shouldn't be "bragging" about it and I really shouldn't have looked at exactly what ticket numbers made me win. I think I may have just tainted this "gift" and just cursed my future chances of having this happen again.

i use thelongbox.net (free to reg. just have to make an intro post to see the download sections) for all my comics other than marvel, and then i use rs.4chan.org to search for my marvel comics. if you want to download a series in bulk, demonoid is the way to go

to read comics on the computer, you need a special program to read the files. i recommend cdisplay since it's free, small, and does the job well.

My point still stands, however. I'm not going to get on you for disliking digital downloads, but I'll say this; I do prefer the physical copy of games, movies, and music. On the other hand, I figure if I can get a title cheaper digitally than I could as a physical copy, I'll take advantage of it. I honestly do hope that physical media sticks around, regardless if the brick and motar stores do not.

So I bought The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time 3D for the 3DS. I cashed in $15 worth of pennies and traded in some DVD's and games to take what I paid out of my bank account down to $10. Awesome. Just awesome. I just hope they come up with an original Zelda title using this engine.

And then, the censorship stupidity comes into play. The Malaysian government is throttling BitTorrent as part of their stupid censorship thingy. As it turns out, Steam uses the BitTorrent protocol to grab the game files. Fucking thing took two days on a connection that should otherwise only take two hours tops to download the beast, and even then I was helped out by mysterious hiccups that gave me a full speed boost for a few minutes on both days.

Backed up the game on to a USB hard disk. I'll seriously lose my shit if I have to redownload this ever again.

I even visited Santa Cruz en route as you recommended and got completely lost, ended up driving in circles around a University campus in some woods where the students kindly gave me directions back onto the freeway haha. I'll be back in LA next week if you're near there at all, but having travelled the distance between them I know that's pretty unlikely. :(
