i had high expectations with WC2 after the nearly flawless port of command and conquer.

A new Logitech mouse. Fuck my old Microsoft mouse.
Funny, I thought that MS mice were pretty reliable and durable. I have one that's 9 years old and another that's over 15, and believe it or not both still works beautifully (of course, I do clean them inside out regularly). And I could've sworn that they were also made by Logitech anyway.

The MS mouse that I allude to in my post I've only had a year and a half. Granted, I never went through the trouble of cleaning the interior of my mouse (just did the occasional sanitation wipe), but that should have not, imo, brought down the life of the mouse. Also, I've never dropped it and when the batteries died in it, I didn't let them rot inside the housing, I took out the spent battery immediately. So idk, maybe I did something else to it to ruin it that I'm not aware of. Logitech manufacturing Microsoft's mouses is news to me.

Well, I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that the mice were manufactured by Logitech. But I could be wrong. Or maybe they were in the early days but now are manufactured by some cheaper source, I don't know.

Not exactly a physical purchase, but the Steam Holiday sale has been raping my wallet. In the last two weeks:

Bob Came in Pieces, Braid, C&C 3, C&C 3 Kane's Wrath, C&C 4, Darksiders, Dead Rising 2, Guardians of Graxia, Just Cause 2, Machinarium, Mafia II, Mass Effect 2, Medal of Honor, Need for Speed Hot Pursuit, Neverwinter Nights 2, Overlord, Overlord: Raising Hell, Overlord II, Recettear, Sid Meier's Civ IV, Civ IV Beyond the Sword, Civ IV Colonization, Civ IV Warlords, Star Wars Dark Forces, Star Wars Jedi Knight, Star Wars Jedi Knight II, Star Wars Jedi Academy, Super Meat Boy, Supreme Commander 2, The Witcher, Splinter Cell: Conviction and Splinter Cell Double Agent.

There's a bunch of games in there from the last year, even a few from the last few months - and so far it's cost me less than the retail of just one of those games from EB Games.

I freaking LOVE Steam.

that's a good question.

if there is one, it's a subtle one.

Iron Man? a "clever" little joke at the whole RDJ as Holmes and Iron Man thing.

I suppose these movies do have a following, as they keep on producing them everytime a blockbuster comes out. Aren't they the ones who made "Goformers" or whatever it was called?

Super Mario All-Stars on Wii is probably the most retarded thing ever. If they included every main Mario game up until SMS it would have been great, but as it is now it's probably the worst value package I've ever seen. Even the soundtrack that comes with it is a short and unimpressive collection.

im close to owning 50 dreamcast games. if i go and buy the sports games i left there i can easily hit 50. that would be the second collection to reach 50, NES games being the first. (not counting PC games as i dont really play them that much)

I have close to 50 Gamecube titles, but I haven't really collected nearly enough for my other systems. Christmas adds a nice jump in count, though.

Come to think of it, I have got to update my collection on the "List the Games You Own" thread.

Congrats, Rokusho.

What kind of games or systems do you collect? I ask because you were pretty quick on the Neverhood, you must be familiar with some more esoteric games as well?

ROKUSHO
01-11-2011, 07:18 AM
any and all systems.
i collect all games too, even realistic sports games, but those are required to be complete (box, manual, etc)

01-11-2011, 07:37 AM
Sigh...I was asking HDHipHop, but since you mention it...

Yes, I always strive to get complete in box. CIBs that come to mind are Chubby Cherub NES & CluCluLand NES (both recently sold), an Amiga 500, Cosmic Osmo (Mac), and all three Marathon games for Mac.

Sealed games depress the hell outta me, except PC games. Besides the value factor -- which of course appreciates exponentially -- I am sad I cannot at least play the game. You always have to be concerned with deterioration. PC games, I am OK with sealed because I can get a burned copy and claim ownership.

You seem to like sports games. I would think gamecube games are starting to become a buyer's market. It's ripe enough.

Anyone remember that one episode from one of the star treks were they find a lone survivor and talk to her over the radio? The trip to pick her up takes several days because she's in such a remote system so there's plenty of time to get to know her. They finally reach her crash site but only find skeletal remains. Turns out the radio signals went through a time warp and they received 5 year old messages. She was long since dead.
I think that's somewhat similar, having all their accounts on everything active but because they're not major places like facebook none of the family even thinks about checking these things out.

some games can increase in value over time.
like, for example, any of the sega sports games that featured someone.
i have a skii SNES game sponsored by some dude, and it came with a poster signed by him, so when this dude dies, how much do you think his game will be worth? MJ's moonwalker for genesis was worth like 4 bucks complete, now it costs like 50 only because he died.

A jalapeo cheese burger.

I'm too old for these.
You are never too old for a jalapeo cheese burger! What's wrong with you?

Well, unless you are asking for the burger to be single meat.

I got some pretty awful indigestion from that burger.

Though it might be because of poor health as opposed to age.

No reason to be angry about people buying comics! Though I have to say, I'm not a fan of the X-23 ongoing at all. It's a shame, because I really like the character.

The last thing I purchased was two new PSN avatars.
