I really wish I had kept up with the news on this game being discontinued... I'm like almost a 9 months late finding out this info. At some point, I had planned on buying this game, but realized today that it was discontinued which sucks. I probably paid too much for it... oh well.

It's a good buy, though. I bought it new when it was released for $40 USD. One can only expect that there would be a limited number manufactured since it bears the "Collector's Edition" moniker.

Play have an offer on Ghibli (2 for �10, which isn't amazing but Ghibli movies rarely come down less than �7 each here) so I got Whisper of the Heart and The Cat Returns. It'll be a few days before they arrive.

Whisper of the Heart is probably my favorite Ghibli movie. There's just something about it that really feels special to me, I couldn't even tell you what. Perfect pair to buy togethe. ^^ I always like to imagine that The Cat Returns was Shizuku finally perfecting her story.

I've seen them both before but the wrong way round. Thankfully it didn't stop either making sense on their own.

I only have a few more Ghibli to get. Grave of the Fireflies, Only Yesterday, Pom Poko, Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea and finally My Neighbours the Yamadas, which I'll probably leave to the end as it looks to be the weakest of the lot. I understand what you mean by the subs, there is a lot of white backgrounds but it's worth watching.

EDIT: It says on Wiki that it's the only Ghibli not available in the States. It's available over here. It's often the other way around.

Yeah, it honestly is a little weird to me that I like Whisper of the Heart as much as I do, because the strange and wonderful world thing (and the gorgeous animation) is really what I love about Ghibli. But there's just something special about the movie to me.

I really am a hopeless romantic though, even though I hate all the chick flick trappings, so that it has an authentic feeling romance without any of those stupid cliches is definitely a part of its appeal. To me though, the core of the story is finding your dreams and doing what it takes to accomplish them- the way Seiji's desire to become a luthier helps Shizuku realize that she wants to be a writer. Being a writer is my dream too, so I guess it just really resonates with me.

The game isn't hard. That battle and the one with Yunalesca are the hardest. (unless you include the breeding ground but if you're doing them you should have everyone maxed out anyway)

I go to Best Buy, but for my used game needs I pass on Gamestop and go to a locally owned BRE Software unless I really have no choice to shop at Gamestop. btw, you should move to Fresno. You have other choices besides Gamestop.

To answer your question; FFVII's cheaper with the green label (Customer's Choice GOTY Edition) because more copies were made. However, the original black label had fewer copies manufactured, so it's worth more.

thats of the first times i came across a playstation. he had a lot of sports games, which didnt really interested me, but he had a demo disc full of great games, one was about robots kicking the shit out of each other (later found out it was armored core) a demo of my favorite ace combat (AC2), some other games and a very (imo) cool tank game where you go destroy stuff with a tank. no it wasnt battletanx, you used a tank to destroy tanks and other machines.
after that, i never heard of that game again.. until now. when i started looking intensely for that demo disc, all i had to do was google "armored core demo disc" and BAM, third link pointed me to THAT demo disc, so i found out the game is called steel reign. a second later, i purchased a complete copy on ebay

Well, For the most part, a lot of the CSI stuff is anywhere between �15-25 {Roughly double that, you have the dollar equivalent} per half of a season.

I got both season halves for �5 each, 3 discs for each half. So yeah, kinda a huge win for the careful buyer right there! :P

I would really, really recommend playing the first two first, just because (to me) so much of why it's an awesome game is because of all the story stuff that had been set-up before. Sure you'll think Godot is great regardless, though.

How's the graphics?

It's on wii, so probably fine to decent...but probably not really above that too often.
Personally, I haven't been 'impressed out of my shoes' by many moving videos of the game, but I'll still get it 'cause it's BOND! :P

I've played a little bit of Goldeneye 007 Wii now and it's pretty fun. The multiplayer has perhaps been changed too much though.

I don't judge a Wii game based on graphics, unless you can obviously tell that the developer didn't put any effort to make the game look half-way decent. I've seen Wii games that look worse than GCN titles, and we all know very well what the little cube could handle. That being said, Goldeneye is no Conduit, but it looks pretty good for a Wii effort. You can tell that the developers really cared about this project.

For those who don't know, Eurocom worked on The World is Not Enough for N64, which was a pretty good Bond effort, so they've had experience in dealing with 007.

My too. I guess it's not loved as much as 007 because it was released pretty late in the N64 life and while it improved almost everything wasn't the 1st to do what Goldeneye did.

All bots on with remote mines in 3 slots, laser in 1 slot, magnum in 1 slot, and shotgun in the 6th slot. Bots don't blow the mines just throw them so you'll need to be careful not to hit them, especially with the shotgun. The guns themselves are lasers which never run out of ammo and have a high rate of fire vs. two of the slowest guns but are more powerful. The tiny area makes things very dangerous.

I never spent much time with Perfect Dark. What I did play of it was very slow though.

cap the case, on felicity, with 2 teams (all dark bots), only rapid fire weapons = MADNESS
specially if you have the fortune of having your case in the baths, and they have it in the labs.
if PD had blood (a lot) the room with the pillar before the labs would be permanently red.

Perfect Dark is my favorite game. Made even better when they remastered it for the 360. However, good luck on finding a random online match.

Loved it so much more than Goldeneye, but for some reason, at parties, no one wanted to play PD, they wanted Goldeneye. I think it had something to do with the four player split screen lag.

For the record, whenever I first played the Goldeneye, it was at my cousins, and they never played as OddJob. So I was never aware of how cheap he truly was. I always played as Venessa. I didn't find out until just recently, what the big deal was. I suppose he's comparable to Elvis in PD, and the monkeys in TimeSplitters.

The new printer arrived, a Lexmark S305. It works nicely and looks nice, though it took a bit longer than I had hoped for me to setup, mainly due to my being a dunce when it comes to anything hardware-related with fiddly bits or wires. It's also rather larger than my old model, which surprised me -- I expected it to be smaller.

Put the wings on the pizza. This one time we had no peperorni pizza, only sausage but we did was a sliced up beef summer sausage and I put put a bunch of them on the sausage pizza and had makeshift peperoni.

I find the Ace Attorney games along with pretty much any game with a decent story {Such as Cing's classics} were very good titles to have...
Saying 'None of them were all that interesting' is faulty as a statement...since, ya know, I doubt you owned the whole library of games!

Right now, the DS is the console I'm the most pleased to have picked up at all, this gen.

I agree with you... I have a NDS only to be able to play GBA games on the go. Haven't used my NDS in ages though, as I can't play games with a small screen for long periods of time.

There are seriously heaps of really great NDS games and if you disagree you are wrong. Kingdom Hearts is not one of those great games though.

Neo Geo is the only handheld so far I've really been able to get into fighting games on, though my hopes for the 3DS are high.

I am often overwhelmed by the amount of stuff I want to play on the DS. Right now it is an Etrian Odyssey 3 machine for me. I have the Lufia remake and 9 Persons 9 Hours 9 Doors but I haven't even gotten to touch them yet. Who knows when I'll have time for Rune Factory 3. ; ;
