Make sure you keep your receipt and warranty info handy; Vizio has an awful failure rate on their lcd panels. Can't beat the bargain though, considering that you're more likely to not have any trouble. :)
Well, I ordered it online, so the proof is available electronically. :) However, that does remind me that I should probably register it on their website, if they have that option...

P.S.: How high a failure rate are we talking about here? Enough to make the extended warranty options worth consideration? Normally I would never purchase one, but if it's really that bad...

I'm not really sure, I know someone who works in electronics at Wal-Mart that told me that of all the tv sets they sell (and they move a lot of them) Vizio panels are returned more frequently than any other brand. I've always been suspicious that Vizio uses "irregular" LCD panels that were otherwise rejected for name-brand use for whatever reason, but with a bit of research, I'm finding that maybe my impression of them is unsubstantiated:

I'd rather buy physical albums. Because I like the insurance factor (song can be re-ripped should anything happen to my digital copies), I prefer VBR MP3s which apparently no online stores uses, and most online stores are region-locked and doesn't want to sell to Malaysia for one stupid reason or another, but won't hesitate to ship a physical CD. "Other" download methods? Like I said, I'm picky over my audio compression method and no one seem to use VBR Q4 MP3s- it's usually CBR only.

I meant pizzas in general. You'd be hard pressed to find a pizza outlet that charges US$4 for a large pizza over here. They usually cost somewhere around three times as much if you frequent the big international brand chains, or at least twice as much if you go to a lesser known store.

While I usually don't mind paying the cash if I feel crappy and want to console myself, yeah, US$4 is a bargain compared to RM30++(around US$12++) just for a large ala carte pizza, before the upgrade to stuffed crust.

It's worth the price, is it what it is. It's normally $5 here also, but it's $4 on Mondays.

In any case, I think we can all agree that if you want truly great pizza, you don't buy it from a national chain, be it Little Caesar's, Pizza Hut, Domino's, Papa John's or Dinglehopper's.

26 oz. box of Marshall's Premium Ferret Food, a shake weight (it does work but it's just annoying), 6 pack of the 13 watt flourescent bulbs (for 8 bucks at WalMart, no less), and Fruity Pebbles marshmallow treats (way too sweet and very difficult to taste the fruity pebbles flavor because of all the damn marshmallow gluing it all together but other than that, pretty delicious).

If you're in Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, Tennessee, Florida, Missouri, New Mexico, or Alabama and manage to find one of their store locations, screw Little Caesar's, Pizza Hut, Domino's, AND (most definitely AND) Papa John's and get yourself a Snappy Tomato Pizza. No pizza will EVER compare to the flavor of STP. Their dough is hand-made (I worked there and scouted other locations as well) every day and the vegetables are hand-sliced also on a daily basis. The meat is ordered and comes from a box but it tastes so good that I was willing to forgive the fact that we didn't cook and slice our own meat.

Hmm, I don't know about this white pizza. I'm perfectly fine with the pizza I've been getting. Latest purch: Parts for my next rig project
- Lian-Li Lancool DragonLord PC-K58 case
- AMD Athlon II x4 640 CPU
- 4x 2GB Kingston HyperX Genesis RAM bars
- Samsung SH-S223 DVD-RW drive
- 1x CoolerMaster BladeMaster XtraFlo PWM 12cm chassis fan
- 1x iCute 12cm chassis fan

The last two was wrongly purchased as it turns out that the case uses 14cm fans on the unoccupied top fan mounts, but I'm keeping them anyway- replaced the rear 12cm fan with the CoolerMaster just because the latter is PWM-enabled. Granted that this rig will still be unable to best last years (which used better G-Skill RAM and had a Phenom II x4), I have a different use for this rig in mind.

How's that PC-K58?
1 major gripe with it so far: To install the optional top fans, you need to buy a set of rubber stoppers as the screw holes are too big for the regular screws that the fans come with. They don't ship extra rubber stoppers with the case. Yeah, you can buy the K62 for a hundred Malaysian Ringgits (around US$30) extra which has the top fans preinstalled, but given that a 14cm fan only cost RM25/~US$7.50, the price hike is hardly justified. Plus I didn't like how the insides of the K62 is hot red in color. At least, the one on the shelf I saw has hot-red innards.

I'm going to have to call around to see if there's any place in Malaysia selling those stoppers. I have no problems getting 14cm fans, last time I checked there were tons of Xigmatek ones.

And oh, I forgot to mention that I also picked up an AcBel R9 900w. They're not modular tho, so the innards of this chassis will be somewhat messy.

I can only hope that this is enough for the pair of GTX260s I'm planning on reusing. The same GTX260s I replaced favor of a pair of GT450s last year because they kept glitching up and giving me a black screen with green patterns (ironically, this started after I went and installed the 240 series drivers, which also wreaked havoc on my MCPC which had a GeForce210 card). I've received advice saying that they're not broke but 850w is not enough to SLI a pair of them- the PSU in said rig is a CoolerMaster Silent Pro M 850w. Well, 900w better be enough then.

500GB WD green hard disk. It was a bargain at RM108(~US$36).

But it's not for the new rig, hence the poor performance spec. Instead it's going into my Media Center PC, whose 250GB is starting to feel cramped due to a recent influx of CD rips, DVD rips and the Arthur episode downloads.

The rig will be inheriting the MCPC's older 250GB seagate hard disk once the data has been ghosted across.

Pokemon White + strat guide + Collector's Edition strat guide (yes I bought both guides the regular one doesn't have the friggin pokedex in it  Nintendo sure does know how to get my money :( )

a hair brush

Tekken 3

Ecco the Dolphin for SegaCD (even though I don't own the console :( ) It also came with a bonus disc with Streets of Rage/Revenge of Shinobi/Columns/Golden Axe/ Super Monaco GP on it....... I picked that up for a dollar.

And I found some random pc game from SouthPeak called Temujin. I have never heard of the title but I think it's a text based game...... a five disc long text based game....... It was only a dollar too....

Hurumph. I can barely find any info on the Ecco/classics pack I picked up :( Both discs say 'not for resale' on it, it's in a carboard case, and everything looks official....... I wonder if it was some kind of limited release meant for employees or something.......

Or maybe it was for rating?.........

both discs also say '94 on 'em if anyone cares to guess with me.....

another edit - hrmmm wait, 94 is the year after Ecco was released and the rating is already on the cardboard cover......... The design print on the disc isn't the blue with a dolphin on it....... both discs have cheap blobby colors on em....... I'm thinkin' maybe it was for employees....

It seems Game Freak still hasn't worked out how to make their games less tedious. The walk speed in that game is atrocious and the time it takes to transition from ANYTHING to ANYTHING ELSE is still way too long.

I'm thinking it could be a bundle pack of sorts for OEM PCs. They seem to be all the rage back in the 90s.

Hmmm, Not OEM bundles with PCs then. But can it be a bundle for a SegaCD kit? I think Sega also licensed the SegaCD specifications out to various third party manufacturers. Chances are this was bundled with one such kit if not with Sega's own kit.

Now I really want this mach to whoop ass, even though it's going to be running on a pair of SLIed GTX260s, mostly running Linux, and being used as a testbed for WINE and VirtualBox. It's going to get a Blu-Ray drive once I get this month's bills paid off.

Why do you need all those? I have asthma as well, but I only need one inhaler, and the ones I buy costs just RM10 (around US$3).

Not that my Asthma is mild tho. I had a severe one on new years eve.

That would be right. I'm surprised you've never heard of video game emulation. You can actually play anything you can imagine on your computer, just so long as someone took the time to copy the code to a computer. Roms are cartridge based games, and ISO's are used for disk based systems. I currently have emulators on my PC, and some that run on the Wii as well, through the Homebrew Channel. They're free, but really, it's kind of illegal, as it's distributing the software license without the express permission of the owner. People do it anyways. It's called piracy for a reason. However, I highly doubt that the FBI is going to target a couple of kids playing Goldeneye on their PC. The only intervention that the publishers do to protect their software, and consequently their hardware, is through firmware updates and security protocols within the programming of the game itself. Internet pirates just have ingenuity to jerry rig their platforms to get around such measures, as they always seem to come up with a solution.

WiiBrew.org is a good place to start looking into hacking into your Wii to play those old Atari 2600 games on your system, or you could try your hand at other emulators at emuparadise.org. Though I highly recommend having strong antivirus protection in place, because that site is quite literally littered with ads that like to drop a nice trojan into your system should you venture onto the servers. But, they have pretty much everything related to emulation there.

Need the Seretide as a preventative. The Ventolin for when needed. The peak flow meter... well, didn't need that per se... and the other one was also for a stronger reliever (like the Ventolin but only if really needed or something.). All in all though, just needed the Seretide and Ventolin... but when you have a worried parent there (who had to be woken up to take me to the hospital), kinda have to get all the trimmings to keep them satisfied.

Noted. I used to need a preventive inhaler (I think it was called Becotide) when I was younger, as well as Ventolin for attacks. I've been weaned off preventive inhalers now and only need an inhaler when an attack arises, and even then the inhaler I use now (called Asthalin) only delivers half the dose of salbutamol compared to a Ventolin inhaler, hence the lower price.
