That would be right. I'm surprised you've never heard of video game emulation. You can actually play anything you can imagine on your computer, just so long as someone took the time to copy the code to a computer. Roms are cartridge based games, and ISO's are used for disk based systems. I currently have emulators on my PC, and some that run on the Wii as well, through the Homebrew Channel. They're free, but really, it's kind of illegal, as it's distributing the software license without the express permission of the owner. People do it anyways. It's called piracy for a reason. However, I highly doubt that the FBI is going to target a couple of kids playing Goldeneye on their PC. The only intervention that the publishers do to protect their software, and consequently their hardware, is through firmware updates and security protocols within the programming of the game itself. Internet pirates just have ingenuity to jerry rig their platforms to get around such measures, as they always seem to come up with a solution.

WiiBrew.org is a good place to start looking into hacking into your Wii to play those old Atari 2600 games on your system, or you could try your hand at other emulators at emuparadise.org. Though I highly recommend having strong antivirus protection in place, because that site is quite literally littered with ads that like to drop a nice trojan into your system should you venture onto the servers. But, they have pretty much everything related to emulation there.

Not quite- see, my TV only has one of HDMI, one VGA with matching 3.5mm audio jack, one set of composite and one set of component video connectors. Right now all 4 are used, but the VGA connector and matching 3.5mm audio connector hooks up to a Digital TV set top box. And the set top box has a VGA and audio passthrough- so the XBox will be going through that. Elaborate and unnecessarily complicated? Yeah. But then, i'm just that kind of guy...

The dish is called (something that eludes me atm) Pollo Bullets. It was cream cheese-filled chicken pieces wrapped in bacon and roasted. It was served with the restaurant's "BB sauce". And my dog, it was fucking delicious. :)

My initial choice was the iPhone 5, but hearing all the talk about evil AT&T with their purchase of T-Mobile and their support of bandwidth caps is making me think twice. hmm, i'll play it again because i fucked up the romancing with one of the characters. Also there's some achievements I didn't get- I only unlocked 30ish on my first time through. It's good, but also a little meh at the same time, I think.

I would not buy it brand new if i could go back in time and try again. rather get a used copy.

my latest big purchase was a few weeks ago when i finished paying off my investment property (worth at least $500,000 and growing). it's already occupied so the rent money i get from them definitely helps. investment properties form a significant part of my portfolio and they haven't failed me yet so it's been very profitable so far. it's performing better than my shares at least. in any case, investing decisions should always be made in a long-term view and in the long-term i expect to come out ahead on all fronts.

As an official ambassador to black people I believe I can clarify a few things for you. Us drinking Grape Kool-Aid, or Kool-Aid of any flavor, goes back to harder times for us, when most of us were lower class and/or working poor and struggled to make ends go forward, let alone meet. For "B)", meh... I've never been into handheld consoles. Granted there are a few games on handhelds I'd like to play, I still can't justify spending that much money on one. I'll stick with bulky TV game consoles.

I used to be all about the handheld systems when I was younger, but I haven't bought any of the last generation of them. I think they're great I just don't have enough time to play them to where it's worth purchasing.

The new screens are around the same size but they have a much higher pixel density. Old DS games have to be stretched out and blurred over to cover up the jaggies upscaling produces. You can turn off the stretching, but then the image is pretty small because of its size versus the screen's resolution. Buying a 3DS to play DS games is really silly.

But I suppose even with all the budget cuts of the economy, I would still eat a burger there at this point... quality has certain gone down the toilet in the food industry to a certain degree.

Lol, PolyStation. I saw one of those when I went to the Dominican Republic. Almost got one too, mainly for novelty purposes, but the store didn't have any games on sale, so it was pretty much worthless, though, incredibly cheap in price (at the time of purchase it would have cost $30 USD).

Sounds like what happens when you play a Gameboy game on the TV. The upscaling slightly blurs the lines of what should be clear. Gotcha. Still not a major deterrent, at this point, but it is something to take into account. Thanks for the info. I still stand by my reasoning, though. Chances are, I'm gonna keep my DS anyways. I have an R4 SDHC, and I don't believe it will work on the new platform anyways.
