Loving your work, as ever!
Really must listen to The Slide. Had a copy for years and never quite got round to it.
Death and Horror must have been a bit of surprise hit for the Beeb they went on to issue two further volumes with the same theme. They were fairly rubbish though and it was clear theyd already milked the library dry: mostly newly-recorded effects (stabbing cabbages and claiming they were heads) and suites that tried to upgrade boring old library cues into exciting new ones: Town crier on layby of M25 in June gets hit by a Renault 50 driven by a gibbon. Head explodes. Sounds like a cabbage.
Theres another lovely radiophonic cue though, called something like Torture Lab 2150 A.D., along with the BBC triffids. Internets playing up tonight but Ill pop them up when I get the chance.

Also, should have a few more of those radio/electronics/noise discs on the way shortly. I am particularly excited by the sound of "Electrical radiation", "Geiger effects" (Ambassadors, surely), and, best of all, three tracks called "Electronic Monotony"! (Otherwise known as electronicmonotony, gnawingagony's long-lost evil twin.)
Oh, and there's some more interference too.
Stay on this channel!
Lovely. The Slide is... of its age, I'm afraid. Starts of well then becomes melodramatic screeching, frankly. Some bloody awful acting.
Some of those effects were pretty lame, I have to say. But I'm so pleased to have some Tibetan wind. That's right. Many thanks for your hard work.
Electronicmonotony is doing well, a Tory councillor somewhere along the south coast. Last heard of chewing baby legs.

Sorry Awkwardmeow, but it appears that MediaFire have blocked the file, thinking it the soundtrack track.
Thanks, here's another attempt to get it uploaded ...
As I said before -
Here's my poor edit of the LGDCFan version of Every Christmas is Last Christmas - this time including the 10 second part from 1:53 that has trumpets and the proper 1 second pause at 3:13 that takes place right he says "Merry Christmas, Clara Oswald" and during her cute little giggle. After which they run out to the TARDIS.
In spite of the minor sound effects I prefer it this way.

Is it just me, or does it seem like Gold is running out of fresh ideas? I can only think of a handful of tunes from Series 8 that were particularly memorable...(such as "Freefall", "Missy's Theme", "Pudding Brains", "Missy And Her Boys", and "Fear".)
Maybe it's just me, but I personally think the musical quality had declined in Series 8.

It's just you. Gold's work this series has been sublime. Much more atmosphere and mood than in previous series. Very fitting for the stories it was in, for once.

I do agree that his work matches the slightly darker nature of Series 8, but I just don't think the tracks sound as good as previous seasons. Just my opinion, though. My favourite track this season is definitely "Fear" - beautiful music.

I liked The Slide. David Spenser (Victor Pemberton's other half as well as Thomni in The Abominable Snowmen) is never less than posh wood, but Maurice Denham and Roger Delgado are dependably good.
Death & Horror - I'm fairly sure Two Screams (Male) is used as part of the Total Perspective Vortex sequence in the second Hitchhiker's radio series, Lunatics Laughing (one of whom sounds a lot like Miriam Margolyes) is used in Dick Mills' segment of Radiophonic Rock and Arrows Fired Into Wood is Leela chucking her knife at V5 in The Robots of Death. But I've been wrong before.

Ta. Possibly exciting: found a rudimentary database of the BBC "EC" sfx discs online and spotted a couple of drum and gong discs with no track titles listed. Got The Man to check similar catalogue numbers and he's found me a 13" track called "long [drum] roll and cymbal crash". Which, I've just checked, is exactly the length we need. I think the music has definitely been reigned in from the uber-whimsy of Matt Smith's Doctor. This past season has a nice balance of electronic and orchestral like TRON Legacy, which honors the new series sound and the classic.

Another disappointment for me with the Series 8 OST is I felt 12's theme (A Good Man) ends far too suddenly. When I first heard the variation in Caretaker I was confident this was the ending to his theme. It should have been. It's not even on the soundtrack at all.
Does anybody think it can be cleaned up more than it was on the YouTube videos that were posted (as "New Tactics") now that the Blu Ray is out?

Like MrBlorx I rip the whole thing. Then I copy the extracts I need into Nero Wave Editor - which is lovely for pretty much everything I need to do but can't multitrack. Then when I've finished fiddling around I stick everything together in Audacity. Simple - and cheap!
MrBlorx
05-12-2015, 07:42 PM
Really? I just open the files directly into Audacity. Adobe Audition is even easier, just open the video and you can watch the video and edit the 5.1 mix in real-time.
Funky1&2
05-12-2015, 08:13 PM
Well, I'll use just Audacity if it's a simple matter of fading the track in and out. For pretty much anything else, the effects in Nero are much easier to play with - you can preview and adjust the effect in real time for one thing. And there's a nice feature - there's probably a posh name for it - where you can add reverb or delay but totally remove the actual source sound, leaving just the pure new effect. (Useful for certain gong and cymbal sounds when the original either fades too abruptly into 16mm hiss and crackle or the final seconds have something else mixed over them - I remake the reverb in Nero, then it's over to Audacity to mix between original and the new clean version, so it echoes away properly into pure silence, as it were.)
Adobe Audition I've never had a play with. Sounds nice though.

Audacity is simple to use, so that's a plus. Goldwave is another favorite of mine, the effects are high-quality and most of the time non-destructive. The 'posh' name you're thinking of is the 'dry/wet' mix level. Audacity doesn't offer a dry/wet mix (except for the reverberation effects), but it's really easy to replicate. Just have both the original file and the new file with an effect added and invert the phase of the audio, it'll cancel out the original track and leave only what the effect has done. This is a very useful process.
Adobe Audition is like gold when removing any artifacts or errors in audio. You can edit out specific frequencies in the spectrogram log (f) view, which is priceless. Great program. Crashes a lot, though.
Oh, and if any of you use VLC media player to watch a DVD, just record the scene you want the music from through VLC and it'll save it to your video library in 5.1. Found this out a while ago for some movies I've wanted to rip. Fast and easy.

Tenth Planet kept popping into my head. No idea about any specific scene - something capsule-related, if anything. And isn't there something very similar in the opening scene of Zygons? Years since I saw that one, mind.
66A is a dead loss - just "Domestic Radio Effects" (tuning household radios and yet more static - and nasty unfamiliar static at that), while 66B is morse effects (tappy-tappy-beep-beep) and an Aldis lamp. I haven't dignified them with a transfer yet.

I was messing around in Adobe Audition and made my way to this (
https://www.dropbox.com/s/zbf4l1u8fhyc0d7/I%20Am%20The%20Doctor%20%28Lite%20Version%29.wav?d l=0). Using a noise removal plugin combined with a little flick of the wrist, I made a spacey-wacey 'I Am The Doctor'. It brings out the chorus in the end and really makes it sound like you're listening to I Am The Doctor through the time vortex.

You're right. It is in The Tenth Planet, and if you listen to the first scene at least, you can hear Interference: Short wave radio interference 2 from one of your previous rips. There's also the merest hint of all that war machines style computer racket going on as well. Quite a mix the sound man prepared that week. Abnd at 12' 10" episode 1 you hear STATIC (2) Heavy line noise interference.

So my series 8 soundtrack just arrived :) Looking at the booklet Murray doesn't mention anything about the lack of vocals on ECILC and yes there is defintely no vocals on ECILC. Also the Don't Stop Me Now instrumental is not on the soundtrack.

Hope mine arrives on Monday! Such a pity the vocals from "Every Christmas Is Last Christmas" and "Don't Stop Me Now (Instrumental)" are not on the soundtrack :(
Could someone upload a FLAC version and scan the Murray's booklet, please? Thanks in advance! :)

A few nice nuggets here. Murray's favourite score of Series 8 is Into The Dalek and he'd love to have a midnight screening of the episode with the score turned up to full in surround sound.
The concerns that Last Christmas might be too scary were (in Murray's opinion) from the temp score which used a lot of long droning Gravity-esque sounds.
Murray apparently recorded the middle eight believing it would be used in the show. He still isn't sure if it has or not.
Tom Baker is his favourite Pre-Revival Doctor.
Dave Foster orchestrated on Mummy On The Orient Express
Steven Moffat really wanted "I Am The Doctor" in Death In Heaven due to Moffat associating it with the show and not Matt like Gold does. (The Majestic Tale of) an Idiot with a Box was a way of satisfying Moffat and satisfying Gold who felt IATD was Matt's theme and Capaldi deserved his own theme. He also notes someone online made a faster version of Idiot With A Box which Murray liked and will work it into Series 9.

Back in 1997, Record Collector wrote an article about the "audio spin-offs from the classic TV series".
3 years later, Mark Ayres released a compilation CD (Who Is Dr Who?) collecting a number of the earlier tracks.
If the CD had gone on to a 2nd volume, what tracks do you think would (or should) have been on it?
I recognise many of the titles in Record Collector's Discography, but does anyone have any further information on these:

I actually quite like In The Forest of the Night. It's by no means perfect, but it's not terrible. It's just something very different to what we usually expect from Doctor Who and probably the only episode of New Who not to feature a monster or alien (depending on your interpretations of Midnight and Listen)

So it turns out that 'Don't Stop Me Now (Instrumental)' is only avaliable on the Standard CD release & Digital albums on Amazon & iTunes. I bought the limited Edition release so I didn't get it. I'm sure someone will be kind enough to post the track on here on monday. I was looking forward to listening to that. The Album as a whole is very good. the mixing glitches are still there and Murray makes no comment about them at all in the booklet. At least on the release they do sound kinda better than the leaked versions. There's one or 2 title changes, Mostly being from Last Christmas.

I'm aware a large number of us on this forum do buy the official releases and am not condemning any individuals. I'm also not talking about the unreleased rips and extras as I think these actually help the community and benefit us all in getting more music out and about.
In fact I'm not even talking about a delayed share, it's just that the pirate copy was on here before my CD version arrived in the post - that cannot be good for us getting more releases in future....

The sharing of the Series 8 soundtrack was just like another release to me. Just early. I purchased 4 copies of the soundtrack even though I was one of the first to actually download it online. I illegally downloaded the soundtrack to 'Interstellar', was pleased with it, then purchased the Illuminated Star Projection Edition. In my opinion, the leak helped people decide if they should buy the album on iTunes or whatever they use. I'm not too big of a fan of pirating something and not purchasing it afterwards. Sure, I shared the Series 8 files, but only to people on this forum whom I trust. Chris Eden removed the file from Dropbox and I never posted a public link. Music is an everyday part of life, and if someone wants a piece of music, I will deliver. (valemusic.org)

Well, this thread is about collecting "all" of the music from Doctor Who and its spin-offs, so I don't see how having the soundtrack posted so soon after release goes against what this thread is about at-all.

What I meant was, is it good that people are to download the official fully mixed album on here the day it was released. This will hurt sales and will discourage silva screen from more releases.
This thread is about getting more music out and about. We all know there are loads of "unreleased" tracks which we are collecting through rips etc. Imagine if silva screen made a bucket on each release - am fairly confident we'd see more official releases with all these unreleased tracks we wanted. Money talks....
That was all I meant...

Yes, it is good to get it sooner, since some of us cannot afford to buy the release. This is, after all, a thread in a pirate site. As for the thread, it is not about getting more music released. Originally it was a place to get all of the soundtracks gathered into one place, including the iso scores. At the time it was started, "new" Who had not even really taken off, and unreleased score was but a fantasy. The thread has progressed, but the original intent has never changed.
Silva has had plenty of opportunity to show good intentions for unreleased tracks. The anniversary sets, for instance. The opportunity for expansions to the Series 1 & 2 album was totally wasted. We got nothing. So, the only thing money apparently says is..."bend over"...

Learning 'No Time for Caution' from Interstellar on the piano is one of the hardest things I've ever done. Like, really, Murray Gold's work is cake compared to this. I thought the uber-fast 'Locked On' variations were hard, but man. It's impossible. But it's necessary.
On another note, my trip to the Doctor Who Symphonic Spectacular in New York has kinda messed up. You have to be 21 to check into a hotel anywhere, and I'm only 18. I'm going by myself so that's pretty much a breaker right there. Stupid hotel rules D:

I have a habit of looking for FLAC releases of stuff I OWN.
Anyone else do this?
I own close to every Doctor Who OST, but I don't think I've ever opened one up.
1) I know I suck a ripping CDs.
2) I collect stuff, and the nicer it is the better it is.
3) No, seriously, every-time I've tried to make my own FLAC/APE rip...well 'shit' would be a NICE way of putting it.

It's the most disappointing soundtrack release yet.
Nah just kidding it's all great. My personal favorite after two weeks of listening to all the tracks is "Every Christmas is Last Christmas". Initially I was a tad upset that the vocals had been excluded, however after listening with the RHAs (worth every penny), I can honestly say that it sounds way better without the vocals.

Fear is one of my favorite tracks, that and A Drink First. Fear is very reminiscent of the series five track "Impossible Choice" in how it sort of folds on itself and neither track is entirely somber or optimistic.
Drink First sounds like a contemporary action score but using the new theme, it's epic and whenever I get the chance I blast it loud in my car!

hehe at least you feel that way. I think it sounds FAR worse without the vocals. It's not just the vocals missing... it's the important horn part the signifies the transition from the final dream layer to the reunion with Clara! So even though it's lower quality I prefer my edited version. I give the soundtrack 8/10 for the changes to various songs.

I heard about the Doctor Who Symphonic Spectacular in New York while at comic-con in Philly (scored both autographs and photo ops with David Tenant and Billie Piper) a couple of weeks ago during a panel on doctor who. I said WHAT!! and quickly got out my phone, google it and booked my tickets right there and then. Didn't pay for VIP tickets but still have a decent seat in the $90 dollar section :) Luckily I live in upstate NY and can take the train into the city for a few days.

They have tried and tried and tried to get earlier unreleased music out there, and they are consistently faced with a wall of blanket refusals. It is not Silva standing in the way of this, and not fair to criticise them for it. If Silva's intentions alone had dictated play, the 11CD anniversary set would have featured at least an hour of unreleased RTD-era music (and the series 7 and Day/Time CDs would have featured the theme arrangements).
Silva are not making the same money from the more recent albums as they made from the first two or three, and it's consistently falling. They are entirely at the mercy of Worldwide, Gold himself, and their own falling budgets. They do everything they can to give us good records.

Saw the Symphonic Spectacular yesterday. Amazing. Loved every second. Hearing and seeing the music performed live gave me a newfound love for it, even for a few cues I wasn't too fond of in the past. And by the way, Peter Davison and Ben Foster are the best hosts of any live show ever.

Having experienced the Doctor Who Symphonic Spectacular. I got to see Elin Manahan Thomas perform all the vocal work of the concert. In Particular, her performance of Missy's theme which she actually sung the lyrics for.
Sleep The Days Of Light
Softly Let Me Die
Tenderly The Night Will Come
Hold It's Sweet Embrace
Sleep The Days Of Light
Softly Let Me Die
Tenderly The Night Will Come
Gently Let Me Die
I might be wrong on one or two words but Thats what it sounded like she sang to me.
There were also some tracks they played in particular that are not present on the Series 8 album. To Darkness had the music when Rusty breaks free and kills the guards and 66 seconds had the Mummy in the Kitchen music with some added notes. Overall the concert lives up to its title. It truly was spectacular.

Yes completely agree the show was amazing.
Hearing it live the contrast of series's 8 score was truly epic and sounded so much more powerful than anything pre series 8 as much as I love all the music, what was interesting was series 8 tracks really stood out ( the dalek suite for example) It was nice to hear series 1-4 themes replayed but as soon as Enter the dalek came on just wow. The concert has given me a not only a new found love of series 8 music but series 8 itself as well as capadli it was the moment I accept him as the Doctor fully and "a good man?" Is just constantly in my head now :) The Pandorica suite too was fantastic and both Davison and Foster were very good indeed. Here's to series 9

Saw the Symphonic Spectacular in Newcastle last night. What a show. Frankly I don't think the soundtracks are just going to cut it anymore; this music needs to experienced by live orchestra!
And I have to agree, as much as I love all of New-Who music, series 8's really stood apart against the other material last night. 'A Good Man?' was goddamn perfect.

But the problem is that series 1 has never had any kind of official release of music, just re-recordings of a few tracks played by orchestra, which is not how they were originally presented in the show.

"Now Forget Me, Rose Tyler" is included in the "Series 1 Ultimate Soundtrack" that I linked on the last page, it's a low quality track from one of the games on the official Doctor Who site, and, yes, those are from the selection of very good rips, they were included on the list in error.

I also included a cover for the two tracks of "The Reign Of Terror" that exist in their entirety and even covers for "The Faceless Ones", "The Highlanders" and "The Abominable Snowmen" in case ANYONE wants to separate the few library tracks we actually have from those stories.
Hopefully those will be of some use to some. :)

I have seen that impossibleego (who I assume is mrbig1316 on photobucket) has updated the covers his feed so that it looks like that I have now got all the soundtracks with matching covers.... Or so I thought. I have noticed that there are covers for The Abominable Snowmen, The Highlanders, The Web Planet, Shada, City of Death, The Faceless Ones, The Reign of Terror and TOATL: The Mysterious Planet and The Ultimate Foe. So my main question is have I missed a load of soundtracks on here while I've been busy with finishing my degree?
I would assume that the Trial stuff is from the Black Light collection?

Hello! Highlanders and Abominable Snowmen are both one track each, I think, both only available as episode rips. I think they were posted here ages ago though I don't have links to them (or copies, come to that).
Faceless Ones is a couple of tracks of drumming (again we don't have full copies), electronic warbles of unknown origin and the very nice "Pacific Dawn" - links to the latter two are here:
http://forums.ffshrine.org/f92/doctor-who-collection-all-soundtracks-72196/377.html#post2947962
Web Planet - I uploaded all the listed Structures Sonores tracks a while back:
http://www.mediafire.com/download/55on5vn3i32txvd/Les+Structures+Sonores+-+2+tracks+%28BAM+LD+066%29.zip
http://www.mediafire.com/download/rx0a14far33cuys/Les+Structures+Sonores+%28BAM+LD+087%29.zip
- there were also a couple of additional radiophonic stings and atmospheres which are probably included in the Web Planet download at the "Collection of all the soundtracks index post" link above.
There's a very nice suite of City of Death cues re-made by our very own Gwylock1, also available at that link.
EDIT:
Actually, Abominable Snowmen is two tracks, not one - both BBC library recordings of the "Monks of the Sakya Sect" chanting away...

I’ll be uploading a revised FLAC copy of this soon. I’d have had it up already but I managed to delete most of the WAVs – obliterating all the tracks that involved any tinkering whatsoever – so I’m having to remake all the interesting bits.
One of the tracks I listed as “Unknown” is unknown no longer! Not my discovery though, so I’ll leave it to He That Has Stolen Gnawingagony’s Crown to announce that one...

Depends on how much of it is just Murray Gold suites with music everyone already has (I think you mentioned that most of what you edited but didn't post was Murray Gold?) and how much of it is unique suites for classic Doctors, either way, it'll still be nice to hear what you edited, as it would be a shame to let them go unheard.

It's not terribly exciting, but track 21 from the Moonbase download (Hobson examining the dome wall) is a very short snippet of "Chromatic Octograms" (AKA Symphony For Chromatic Octograms) by Desmond Leslie. It appears at about 1:15, here's a link if you don't already have it: Chromatic Octograms (

Yep. that worked! Thanks, one step closer to having the score to The Moonbase complete!
And kudos to GinjaNinja for spotting that. The part used in the episode is so tiny I’d filed it under “no chance on earth” of ever being identified.
Anyway, as we gain an identified track from The Moonbase, we gain another unidentified one! The thing I’ve been calling “Swirly Atmospherics” (I’m so glad that name’s catching on!) might actually be two tracks, not just one.
I’ve found a scene in Moonbase which appears to include two distinct, separate tracks, one playing after the other – both of which I would originally have said were the same piece. I’m not at home right now so can’t tell you where it is (it’s probably episode 1 or 2, and it’s not from part 4, that’s all I can tell you) but it’s set in the sick bay. The usual Marinus / Morpho “respiration” sound is playing from the start. Then, a few seconds in, the main “Swirley” effect begins – electronic shrieks and bubbles and rushes of air, probably most familiar from the opening scene of part 2. After about 50 seconds or so, that fades out leaving just the Marinus effect again. Then a few seconds later another track fades in – this time a less dramatic “wind” sort of a thing. Less variation on this one, more a constant tone. I’ll include a rip in my Moonbase FLAC edition.
So we might be after two tracks with this one, chaps!
The quest is the quest...

Gah. I've listened to this again and I'm not so sure now. Might be two separate sections of the same track. Anyway, here's the thing I've been calling "Swirly Atmospherics" in a prominent appearance from Moonbase 2:
Swirly 1 (
http://www.mediafire.com/listen/1ng8hjce2c25v02/Swirly+1.mp3)
Lovely, innt?! (Unfortunately it cuts to a less interesting bit just after Polly screams due to a VT edit... )
And here's the scene I was talking about with the two apparent variations:
Swirly 2 (
http://www.mediafire.com/listen/v1a2d9m2pysjyzy/Swirly+2.mp3)
It's the other way round to how I described it earlier. We open with just the Morpho sound, then the blander "Swirly 2" fades in at 7". It's less dramatic than "Swirly 1" - just a high-pitched wind effect. I was thinking it faded out by 1'05" (leaving just the Morpho effect) but listening on headphones just now I think there are a couple of solo "whirls" in the silence before "Swirly 1" kicks in properly at around 1'08". (The swooping / shrieking section from the first clip can be heard repeating from around 1'33)
So, one track or two? I'm veering back towards one track now, sorry. Someone please find the bloody thing to put me out of my misery!

These ALMOST sound like some of the weirder bits of the Dalek Masterplan soundtrack run through some sort of distortion, but that can't be right. Don't suppose it was special sound actually created for the story rather than stock material?

Yes, out of the Siday/Cary/Leslie collective I think it sounds more like Cary than anything.
As for it being radiophonic - it could be, of course. But there's no tape for the Moonbase in the RW archive and no record of any tape ever being prepared. (Did you see the RW catalogue? There's a link in one of GinjaNinja's old posts if you missed it.)
Of course, we've got the two Marinus sounds recycled, so perhaps it is radiophonic but a pre-existing track culled from some other, earlier show...
That said, it sounds absolutely nothing like any other RW track I can think of from the period. I said a while back that it was a "bit too good" which is probably terribly unfair - I love the RW! - but it's certainly a more intricate soundscape than they were generally churning out, at least for the likes of Dr Who.
So, is it a library track? It could be - sadly, the PasBs for The Moonbase are the very worst of the lot: there are loads of library tracks that should be on there that aren't, so "Swirly Atmospherics" could easily be another one. But if it is, it's been missed off the paperwork for all four episodes - which would be exceptionally slack - and it reappears in most episodes of Tomb and there's no mention of it on the PasBs there either.
Unless the radiophonic Tomb master tape ever turns up (unlikely) or someone stumbles across it on a random library disc, this one may forever remain a mystery. Which is a great shame because it's an absolutely gorgeous piece.

I clutch you to my bosom.
So it was under our noses all the time. Well, those of us who had the Leslie collection.
What gets me is that whoever chose the music actually listened to the whole damn track before choosing the appropriate bit. Morris Barry once said that he would be given a whole whack of discs and told to choose what he wanted to use, probably the production assistant asssembled them. Normally, it is a safe bet that whatever is chosen to be used in any production is usually the first few seconds or minutes of a piece, not somewhere towards the end, which is where we find not only this, but the glass breaking/jumping into the hand Space Museum piece which Funky spotted was also used in The Moonbase, and that is also towards the end of that particular track.
If I remember correctly, this was dubbed onto a brief film clip of two Moonbasers pointing at the punctured dome.
Perhaps the other unidentified piece which comes from Episode 3, which Funky spotted, a brief clink clunk sound, forget where, is another Leslie thing. Damn me if I am listening to his music again to find out. Last time, I had this strange urge to polish my axe and visit any local politician.

I would try and trim down the amount of Gold that got included. I do have a few for Davison that didn't make the original cut and some for Tom Baker. I've also recently gone created a couple more Troughton ones. So it might actually become a real thing soon. lol

I don't know how things are professionally done, but, when I have to edit an audio over a minute long into only a few seconds of a scene, I do tend to use something between the middle and the end of the track to make it's identity less obvious.
Thinking about it like that, I feel like I'm a dick.

Generally production teams don't really have the time to listen to the entire piece for several pieces of music so they just listen to the beginning and decide based on those first few seconds.
To add to this, BBC directors/producers (sometimes the same people) would tell the sound Library what they are looking for, and they would be provided with a selection. In the 1960s they certainly had a good run up time and could sit around and listen ESPECIALLY if they were chosing a theme tune, but I imagine a lot of the time they were gnashing their teeth with the sheer awfulness of what they were listening to. Morris Barry tells the story that it was either when he was a production assistant, he would bring up five or six records, and his director would always choose something from the LAST record! Every time. So he always slipped in what he thought was best at the bottom of the pile!
Stock film was the worst for time consumption, by the way. A production assistant would have the tedious job of sitting through hours of the stuff.
Nowadays, I bet the sound editor does all the choosing. RTD had some interesting things to say about the music and how they would use any thing from any film sound track at hand during the initial edit just to fill out the sound a bit.

-The Cyberking Rises from The Next Doctor AKA The Doctor's Message from A Good Man Goes To War
-Pterodactyls chorus variation from The Snowmen
-Or are you waking up? from Amy's Choice AKA The Name of the Doctor cliffhanger music
We already have that (officially) clean from The Eternity Clock, it is part of Chris666eden's series 5 unreleased soundtrack (

If SOMEHOW Murray was going to release only 8 tracks that people most want, you all would have to decide. Be very specific!
The Sarah Jane Adventures Theme
The music from The Long Game when The Doctor gets it wrong about the fine food and culture of the future. (One of my favourite pieces of Murray's music)
Death of the Jagrafess (From 'The Long Game')
The Ninth Doctor's regeneration from The Parting of the Ways.
Goodbye, My Sarah Jane (From 'School Reunion')
The music from Evolution of the Daleks when the Gamma Strike hits/The music from The Lazarus Experiment when they're in the cathedral and finally defeat Lazarus.
Marching the Children (From 'The Next Doctor')/The Last Centurion (From 'A Good Man Goes to War')
Daleks Invade the Aristotle (From 'Into the Dalek')
And if The Sarah Jane Adventures Theme is not counted, I'd add the music from Last of the Time Lords when Martha tells the story of The Doctor.
Although it's ONLY 8, I really cannot bring the list down from 9, including the music from The Shakespeare Code when they first arrive in Elizabethan England/The Tenth Doctor's marriage from Day of the Doctor...

The "Doomsday" variation when the 10th Doctor has a partial regeneration in Stolen Earth
River of Tears, series 6 variation, from Let's Kill Hitler, when the Doctor ridiculously wants to play the drunk dying mad hatter all of a sudden
S03 Martha Wanders the Earth + the version when she sees the Toclafane destroying everything
S01 Struggle For Help
First There Were The Daleks (Proms 2013)
The Mad Man with a Box (S05E01 original)
and I think that's about it

Unreleased tracks? I would choose:
- The original "Westminster Bridge" from "Rose"
- The original "Doomsday" from "Doomsday"
- The "Doctor Forever" variation from "Gridlock", "Evolution of the Daleks" and "The Family Of Blood"
- "Don't" from "Midnight"
- "The Majestic Tale" variation from "Amy's Choice"
- "I Am The Doctor" orchestral variation from "The Wedding Of River Song"
- "Clara & The Crack Of Time" from "The Time Of The Doctor"
- "Give Him Hell" from "Deep Breath"
YES YES YES to Clara / Crack from TotD

I's need....NEED, the choral version of All The Strange, Strange Creatures from 42. With that, I'd be happy.

HI, I'm new here and not really sure where to post this request, but here goes.
Does anyone have a collection of all the music suites from the Audio Dramas? I have most of them, and I like to listen to it while studying. Alternatively, if anyone wants the ones I have, I'm more than happy to upload.
Thanks!
EDIT: Can't seem to actually attach the screenshot onto the post, so here is the link (
