I'm not sure about all of them. Bothers me, too, that the links haven't been re-upped, but the person who started this thread and the links isn't around so we can't update the links. We can always update them right now on this page, but eventually that page will be lost, too. There's nothing like the first page!

I was watching a Tennant marathon on BBC America yesterday and came across a piece of music that I couldn't recall if it had been released or not.
It's at the end of The Stolen Earth. It's the build up to Tennant's "regeneration" from when Jack says "Here we go!" to the end of the episode. I know the "theme" has been used several times before but I don't recall if this particular version has been released. It's such a great cliffhanger and the music really drives that scene home.
The scene in question. Music starts at 3:16.

http://www.millenniumeffect.co.uk/audio/index2.html
This link takes me to a 'page does not exist' message.
I went to the 'Unofficial Bootlegs' page and it mentioned bootlegs for Catrovalva/ Mawdryn (officially, the 'Corridor of Eternity' release we've been discussing), Trial of a Time-Lord (which was a rip of Black Light, complete with its inherent sound fault), Time and the Rani (this has been posted), Dragonfire (again from Black Light), Survival (which hasn't, but DrMatt's Survival is a good release although I can't tell if the bootleg has any extra/unused tracks), and Happiness Patrol (both the bootleg and DRMatt's have appeared here, I think).
The bonus tracks all appear on other albums, other than Five Doctors main title extended, which I'm not sure about. If I had to guess, I'd say it was a DVD rip judging by the 'bonus tracks from source' comment.
Bootlegs not mentioned are Paradise Towers (posted on here) and Silver Nemesis (which I have offered but nobody was interested in - it needs some restoration work as it's off a cassette).

So I was asked to work on the audio part of a fan-made trailer of Half-Life 2 and Doctor Who, and I believe I did okay. It's a 5.1 mix and features music by 'Methodic Doubt Music' with sound effects from Doctor Who, Half-Life 2, The BBC sound effect library, and some work with free sfx online. I used Audacity to assemble the tracks, then Audition to make it blend in with the video properly. The LFE channel looks sloppy because it really is. Just a low-pass filter on the original music track, in a really low amplitude.
5.1 Mix (AC3) (
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5H-8ZbpQsdjWTlBOXNQUENFd0k/view?usp=sharing)
Stereo Mix (FLAC) (

Stereo Mix (MP3 320kbps) (
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5H-8ZbpQsdjc0FYb3dUMlEzN00/view?usp=sharing)
I'd like some feedback on how I did. I know I did a really crappy job on the LFE, yeah. I also would need to fix some of the ending dialogue and the reverb on when the dialouge shits to the right. Also, you might here JFK's speech about the Cuban Missle Crisis in there. Yeah, that was a must, as they want to keep cutting back to JFK's speech while the trailer plays.
Some things that I'd also like to point out:
-Finding roomtones and background ambiance is the worst thing ever.
-The built-in reverb plugin in Audacity is s**t.
-Managing levels to make sure there is no clipping is also the devil.
That was today's work. All in one day.

It isn't 8891 Royale - the track runs to some 3:40 not 1:55, and if you look back you will see I have posted this already. Have a listen!
There are some unused and alternate tracks on the bootleg. Two of these appear on DRMatt's release, presumably because they were on the DVD, labelled 'Demo I' and 'Demo II'. However, I believe these are alternates and not demos. There are at least two other tracks on the bootleg that do not appear in the final programme (other than the trailer music).

A lot of the isolated soundtracks contained minor glitches. I've cleaned up a few myself, but I've noticed Dr Matt has also tweaked a few in the meantime. I can't say I noticed any obvious problems with Terminus. I can only find a track called "Turlough Trouble" on the unmixed disc and it's only 11 seconds long - no obvious clicks as far as I could tell.

A shame, I really quite liked the music from #4, more so than the others. As much as I love Wilfredo Acosta's work, something about Howard Carter's scores appeals to me somewhat more

03. Little Prelude (

No songs in Terminus. But assuming you're talking of DrMatt's version of the isolated music on the DVD, track 1 is the Dr Who theme. Track 2 is Turlough Trouble. Or do you mean episode 2? The music tracks don't have titles. But if you're trying to match it up with the 2nd disc in Dr Matt's set I think it is "It's a Leper Ship!", starting from about 30 seconds into the track. Don't forget that the first music you hear in Episode 2 is just a reprise of the end of episode 1 so has been edited out of DrMatt's version.

Typically, there's a cue that follows through the scene where there's the cliffhanger. Not sure how the episodes are presented on the DVD, episodic or "movie" format. On Dr. Matt's release it's all one cue. I've been cutting that cue up and adding the main and end titles so that the music has a more "episodic" quality to it. It can be difficult finding where in the cue the break is.
I will try your "30 seconds in" trick and see if that works.

The music at the end of Terminus part 2 is different on Dr. Matt's version of the track ("The Doctor's Turn to die") than in the episode, but only slightly. Presumably I'll find the corresponding measure at the beginning of part three.
I guess I need the isolated score for Terminus with the credits music still attached.

You should listen to the Russian trailer, the music is different (and in my opinion, a lot better). I have the original .wav file around here somewhere...
But yes, I will attempt a rip from this trailer, but there's no guessing on YouTube quality.
Edit: Yes, YouTube quality has butchered the audio. I don't think we could get a good track out of it unless we had the lossless.

If anyone's still following my "Terminus" soundtrack debacle, there's a scene between episodes two and three where Turlough and Tegan are trying to escape from the subfloor vent. In part two the scene is silent, but in the reprise in part three there's 13 seconds of music. In feature-length format the reprise, and its music, would be absent. So I've no way of creating that bit.

Yeah, they're not in the story. I just included Mysterious 2-6 as a curio for those that might be interested in hearing the rest of the suite (though I'd be first to admit they're pretty uninspiring). Electronic Links is listed on the PasB but appears to be a typo for the track I called "Echo Piano" (which remains unidentified). Its inclusion is vaguely interesting - normally PasB typos are relatively minor (although enough to sabotage several soundtrack releases in the past) - for example, listing track 1 instead of track 2, or side A instead of side B - but here we have the wrong disc altogether. But the fact that those details were written down at all suggests that the Electronic Links tracks were considered for inclusion along the way - or at least waved under Camfield's nose at some point.

Does anyone know what music is used on the discarded intro to The Tenth Planet VHS (

Almost 100% certain that's a Keff McCulloch original.

Alrighto, I've been kinda busy these couple of weeks. Working on a lot of soundtracks, recording some stuff, all of that giff gaff. My new website is up, Vale Music (
http://valemusic.org), but it's in a barebones state right now. Organizing all of the music is a hassle and takes a really long time.
I'm still editing and sorting music, and will hopefully come out with something new over the next couple of weeks (loose term of 'new', as there isn't really much 'new' music). But, who knows. Hope everyone likes my new website. Yay bootstrap template!

Well I still have May 2015 as a likely Series 8 Soundtrack release. Time is running out for Silva to announce it. It's possible it could get a June/July release though. Or maybe even a late August release like Series 7. Knowing Silva though I imagine they'll want Series 8 released before Series 9. I just hope they include Last Christmas music on it. If they do I think it'll be the first time we won't have a special or two needing music released for it for a long while. I think since the Series 6 Soundtrack was released. Of course we could be getting a November release like Day/Time last year. With the 50th Collector's set out of the way Silva can hopefullly focus on getting Series 8 released. From what I heard the numerous 50th set delays led to the Day/Time soundtrack being pushed back several times. If Silva can get Series 8 out soon, soundtracks for Doctor Who may become more regular.
Of course that all depends on if Silva is going to release a new album for the New Who 10th Anniversary, but if they were we'd have surely heard something by now.

There's sadly no way to make it clean. The episode audio is on the music track while the interview audio is on the dialogue track. I assume this was an alternate version of the music when The Master flies out of the warehouse and the 10th Doctor runs after him, but they just added drums and a guitar.

Right, I'm just putting this forward on the off-chance...
Around the time the 50th Anniversary aired, a Facebook page known as 'Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Zone' - still going today, I believe - gained quite a bit of clout. The page was predominantly interested, at the time, in posting fake promotional material. And of course, at the time, there was a lot of debating over whether the promotional material was fake.
Anyway, one of the first things they posted were soundtrack samples. Some were obviously faked, but others... more questionable. There was one in particular that sounded genuinely authentic. I suppose it could have been Midi, if a combination of some outstanding pieces of software, but I began to wonder. I recorded it just in case, highly doubtful, but I knew I loved it and would appreciate it after the episode.
As expected, the soundtrack samples were faked, but this track still bothered me.
Now, you probably don't recognise it, and I'm not even 100% sure this is the right page to post this on but I'm new to all this and it seemed my best bet. I thought, if it was a track picked up by some Whovians, you might know where it's from? Maybe from an old trailer, or by one of the soundtrack artists? Or maybe, just being musical people in general, you'll recognise it from elsewhere. Either way, it's been bugging me for almost two years now.
Here it is. Anything you can identify would be helpful, even if it means telling me to shut up and sending me in another direction:

Whatever it is, it sounds like stock trailer music more than actual score (although it does sound vaguely like the later Mass Effect games at times). It might be some ProScores or some other trailer music library, their stuff usually sounds like this.

I've spent some time tracking down the right performances of the Bla Bartk pieces used in this serial and editing them to match how they appear in the episodes. This share contains two discs, the first containing the original tracks and the second containing all of the edited cues.
Artwork is included!

Blogtor Who: Murray Gold talks Doctor Who Series 9 (
http://blogtorwho.blogspot.co.uk/2015/04/murray-gold-talks-doctor-who-series-9.html)
This sounds interesting, also note that they discuss a new album in part 2. Could it be the upcoming Series 8 Album?
Also the idea of a song by Murray gold doesn't sound promising. He struggles to come up with lyrics that work and decides to just repeat them over and over now. What happened to the gold that produced Song for Ten and Love Don't Roam?

Thanks for this, but I've downloaded both versions and both of them don't have tracks 24 & 25, yet have tracks 26 & 27, is this simply a numbering error or are there two tracks that you forgot to include?

I've used your rip and re-edited it into a complete version: Crashing (11th Doctor Post-Regeneration Cue) (

Sounds awesome! Thanks for re-editing my crap loops. I did all of those using a touchpad while laying in my bed while on vacation!

How strange! They're both there in my original folder and when I download them. Here (

Sorry to be a bother even more, but I've downloaded that (twice) and the .zip file is empty! Except for one (empty) folder "__MACOSX"...

No worries! I've really no idea how this is happening! Here are separate links to tracks 24 (

Yep! That worked! Thank you so much for this score. It's great to get 'obscure' 60's library track scores posted, as opposed to just the DVD isolated scores for 80's episodes. It's just great to see the 60's episode getting some recognition!
