Would anyone, by any chance, have the various Tardis sfx heard in the 1996 Movie? Particularly the Sound effect from the opening titles when the Tardis spins towards and away from the screen. If any can help me, i'd be much appreciated :)

I had them but suffered a hard drive crash. While I didn't lose much, most of my copies of Dr Matt's isolated scores are missing odd tracks, unfortunately.

One of my favourites too, but I feel that may largely be due to it being the only Murray Gold score from the series that we pretty much have completely clean. What's new in this version? A new rip of the one unreleased track?

In short, an updated and leveled version of the track 'Pick a Star,' and then other tweaks such as minor volume leveling and removing long silences at the beginnings and ends of each track (and fixing track 3).

Is this an actual Stem or a midi file with Woodwind plugin instruments? It sounds like a midi file using realistic orchestral plugins. A Woodwind ATSSC sounds really good. Would work for a comedy sequence.
Do you happen to know what happened to Gavin? And his deal to get the unreleased version of The Doctor Forever? I was looking forward to hearing that 5 minute sample but it seems like perhaps it fell through which is a real shame.

It's a midi file, I used Spitfire Albion I and NI Symphony Series Brass Ensemble. Wait until you hear the woodwinds replaced with a Crumhorn.

Still around, but I haven't gotten any website updates since August 4th. The deal was abandoned as it was too expensive.
I might get a track or two every other month but it's nothing special, just either some random track or sourced sound effect.

I see, well something every once in a while is better than nothing at all. And I do the same thing. Use orchestral libraries and plugins to reconstruct pieces of music by ear rather than sheet music etc.

Chris, I've noticed in your recreations that you have the same percussion samples as used in the actual show. For example, for your series nine recreations, the track "Frozen Skies" features the percussion. Do you mind telling me what library that is? I'd love to have as many of them as I can get!

I don't actually have the samples, I ripped them from The Girl Who Died. The scene where Odin teleports to the village and walks into the barn, theres just those percussion samples playing in pretty clean format too, no sfx. I just add them into the finished track I make using Audacity.

Oh, I getcha. So far, I've found that Murray has used these libraries/samples:
8Dio's Mini (for clock ticking sound effects in series 8)
8Dio's Epic Tom Ensemble (various tracks from Series 4 and onward)
Evolve Mutations Volume 2 (synth used in Which One Is The Flesh [Series 6])
8Dio's Music Box (for Amelia's theme)
Spectrasonics Omnisphere 1 & 2
Spectrasonics Stylus RMX (percussion kits)
FM8 (synth)
Also East/West Orchestral Percussion, for the bell trees.

After listening to the Series 8 soundtracks, i got very annoyed that it didn't have one of my favorite tracks from the episode ''Deep Breath''. The track where the doctor collapses (before the Opening Theme).
So i decided to extract the music from the 5.1 audio. This is the best i could do. (at the very start i have a small sound effect of the Tardis Door)

I went on Evolution Music Partners website earlier today and noticed in the library it has a folder labelled "Jackson, Jake" aka the mixing engineer on Doctor Who and under this folder was another labelled "Gold, Murray"
Wondering if perhaps there is Doctor Who Music on there. The limited access only allows you to see the folders and not whats in them. Found this quite interesting in terms of possible S9 cues.

Believe it or not, all of the episodes from Series 2 I've uploaded recently use the modern releases as the base, as they're the only ones on which Mr.Blorx's little surround channel trick works (it makes the editing process somewhat tedious, but it works). They just need to be sped up by about 4%, which is pretty much unnoticeable. For some reason, on all of these releases, the Sound of Drums is the only one that is pitched up for some reason. For this reason, I'll probably be using my other rip as a base for this particular version. However, I'll also upload an alternate which uses the PAL base because it's cleaner, it just sounds a bit odd. You can listen to them both and decide for yourself which one you like better. :)

How did you make them cleaner with the 5.1 tracks?
Thank you! I try to make the cues shorter, it's easier to organize and keep track of than longer suites.
The two surround channels are mostly copies of the two front channels, so I invert the polarity of the surround channels and drop them -5dB. I mute out the center and LFE channels, leaving mostly only music. Sometimes, in the surround channels, a mono VO will be placed, and I just remove the center channel.
It takes a lil while longer, but produces better results. I could go into Adobe Audition and clean up the tracks even more but I'm pretty busy at the moment.
If anyone would like an in-depth tutorial, I'd be happy to share the process.

Very excited to announce that I've found the 12th Doctor's Theme guitar notes! They were in a sample library by Spitfire Audio called Enigma (

Here's two samples, one played at A4 and one played at A5.

There's loads of different options for delay and reverb effects, man this is cool!

It's an observation I made while editing through the series. For some reason in some cases, the L and R channels start becoming sort of mono, which becomes clear when I substitute in sections from the Ls and Rs channels. It's a weird quirk that only series 3 has for some reason.

It's a mixing technique that's really prevalent in the third series, for some reason. The musics' stereo width is almost halved. I believe this is to incorporate more stereo sound effects in, as it takes full advantage of the dynamic range of the mix. It's better for us this way because it's easier to remove the sound effects.
I'm still working on making a tutorial for all of this!

Sure, I can post my findings if you guys want!
I'll probably have my full compiled collection done by either tomorrow or this weekend.
Mind you, I'm still struggling through the Gunpowder plot, but I'll update the folder as I go. :)
While on the subject of games, here's all of the music I extracted from the online flash games (
https://mega.nz/#!hUoQUbrQ!93hoA7QVvhRzGRgOuxqUB8R9kOeVSGxkNryukBf29co) (all low quality mono but mostly unreleased), it's mostly from series 1 & 2 but there is one track from The Lazarus Experiment (Amy's History Hunt) and some stuff from Into The Dalek (Game Maker). Annoyingly, I am unable to get the music from the Cyber Assault game, as the swf files housing the music say they're corrupted despite the music still working in game.

I remember the trailer maker had:
- The Futurekind (A remix using ATSSC when the futurekind chase the Tardis team inside the base)
- The Doctor Forever (the variation used in the Family Of Blood next time trailer)
- The Tarachi System (An unreleased piece of music from 42)
- The Futurekind (the last portion of the released track)
Shame we can't find them although I may have the Futurekind/ATSSC one somewhere.
Actually "sja_activity_music_04" is the Futurekind/ATSSC variation from the Trailer Maker. Not sure why it was used in a SJA web game I assume.

It's from a BBC Bitesize game about sound (

Pretty much, yes. I separated each part into different pieces and sorted them all to the best of my ability. After that, I just put all of the pieces together into as full a version as I could make. Everything else is either unknown, which I've shared, or (in the gunpowder plot's case) already released on the Series 6 soundtrack.
Just listened back to the unknown tracks and I'm sure B is from The Doctor's Wife and C sounds like the regeneration music from the first Silence episode minus the choir.

The Graham Norton Show just played a preview clip of The Pilot and it contained a wonderful remix of A Mad Man In A Box. Think of the instrumentation of Always Mercy from The Witches Familiar and that's what it sounds like. Can't wait to extract it.
All I hope is that the 5.1 mix for Series 10 isn't like Series 8 & 9 where only the top channel had music and thats all we are stuck with when it comes to mixing and cutting them to a decently clean quality. Somehow I feel it will be like the previous series but we will see tomorrow.

God, I really hope the mixing is better (for us) for this series. Don't know why it would be, but here's hoping.
Whatever the mix is like, I'll still be ripping it as soon as possible.
Loved the music in The Pilot! It was so new and I think I heard a lot of guitars, which seemed so fresh and different. Can't wait to start ripping the score.
Edit: The mix is the same as series 8 & 9, the music is exclusively in the two top channels.

From the Doctor Who Online review of Smile
"Murray Gold's music features a little more in this episode, and it really helps set the scene and pace, further. Without giving too much away in the scene, there's a great piece of music that plays after The Doctor tells Bill to stay away from his browser history. It's the first piece of music this season that we've got really excited about and it was worth waiting for. There's something quite Classic Who about it in feel, and has a touch of Mark Ayres about it."

The Invasion: KPM Library Tracks
Jamie. Transistor radio. Pop tune. Hammond organ. Listed as “Unknown” in my old upload ('
http://www.mediafire.com/file/91lznqc4jz2z35g/The+Invasion+-+FLAC.zip').
Firstly, I must confess - I missed one! Lord Pixley’s archive feature in the Invasion Panini / Hachette book identifies a second transistor radio cue from Episode 2 that I completely missed. Bad Funky.
So, once I'd performed a sufficiently gruelling bout of bodily mortification, I popped over to the Library Music Themes board to see if they could help.
They could!
With massive thanks to Mr and Lord Thames from the Other Place, the two tracks pounding on Jamie’s transistor radio are Organ Mania and Piccadilly Night Ride, both by Alan Hawkshaw and Keith Mansfield, from KPM 1027 ('
https://www.discogs.com/Alan-Hawkshaw-David-Gold-5-Keith-Mansfield-Soul-Organ-Showcase/release/2616383').
You can buy the original vinyl for sixty-five quid, or download them for free from the following link:
http://www.mediafire.com/file/5y5at88n06fxtne/The+Invasion+-+KPM+tracks.zip
Password:
tobias
That version of Piccadilly Night Ride is from KPM’s The Sixties CD and runs to 1'21. There's a longer edit out there, running to 1'53. It's on Amazon if you fancy it.
Now, what's in this parcel...?

it will probably be just for the sfx and not anything different with the music. plus i don't think you can get a 5.1 mix from BBC iPlayer. If it was a TV Broadcast then you would expect the 5.1 copy but its only on iPlayer. I think its going to be ASMR Doctor Who.

Planet of the Spiders – library tracks
1. Front Row - Paul Gerard
2. Djinn Palace - Paul Gerard
3. Bizarre Link 2 - Paul Gerard
4. Lama Chhopa - Tibetan Lamas from the Sarnath Temple
Here you go - four library tracks from episode one of Planet of the Spiders.
http://www.mediafire.com/file/lcuzdnvvowa3axo/Planet+of+the+Spiders+-+library+tracks.zip
Fans of the BBC paperwork (you know who you are) will notice straight away that only two of these titles are listed on the PasB for this story. Hunted and Sneaky Sheik are our latest PasB no-shows - but while it's sad to wave them goodbye, we get to welcome Bizarre Link 2 and the wonderfully named Djinn Palace into the Dr Who fold. (They're the intro and outro to Scheherezade's routine.) Be gentle - they were perfectly anonymous just a week ago, now they’ve been thrust right into the limelight after 49 years of obscurity, poor things.
Next – shout outs and thank yous! First off, a Metebelis sapphire to JimmyRich for making a copy of the Paul Gerard disc available over on the Library Music Themes site. And a place in the Eight-Legs’ larder for eBay seller “obiespangles12” for hawking a sandpapered pile of shit and claiming it was in excellent condition.

Funny that this track is from Into The Dalek actually

Zak I just wanted to say a huge thanks for these "Fantastic" (quote the 9th) collections you have made. They are a true gem that will be well listened to.
It is just so nice to finally hear some of the great tracks in such a great condition, I have listened to Daleks in Manhattan / Evolution of the Daleks so many times as they are my fav episodes and judging by the order the next one is Human Nature / The Family of Blood? another of my favs.
I also want to shout a huge thanks to CGCJ for all the rips of DW, SJA Ect he has posted on here over the years again a real gem I really enjoy to play.
hoping for even more special gems and wonderful collection in the future bless you so much!

Anyone know what's up with the OST releases? The license is no longer with Silva Screen, right?
I reckon they'll release them at the end of the current season to round off Capaldi's tenure. Another 3 Disc S9+X-Mas special, 3 Disc S10+X-Mas special?
I hope they release the cue for the Singing Towers in Husbands of River Song, then I'll be ok...

Edward Russell said the other day when asked about the soundtrack, " I feel I've explained this a few times. Murray hasn't delivered a soundtrack yet. I'm not sure it's a priority for him."
So hopefully we'll see it one day just not yet. I still am hopefull for a S9 and S10 soundtrack released at the end of the year. The Specials and Series 5 Soundtracks were released a month apart.

so we can all blame Murray huh?
pottyaboutpotter1
05-18-2017, 07:49 PM
I think it's understandable why the soundtrack has taken a while. Murray is a busy bloke, he's a very in demand composer as well as scoring 13 episodes of Doctor Who a year and working on all the various music shows Doctor Who does (Proms, Symphonic Spectacular). There's no chance there won't be a Series 9 soundtrack, it's just going to come when Murray can get around to it. I'm standing by that we'll get it before the year is out, either a standalone release or a combined Series 9/10 soundtrack (which would likely be three discs). The Husbands of River Song and The Return of Doctor Mysterio will likely receive their own release a la TDTWATW/The Snowmen and Day/Time.

None
and they better not even try to release season 9 and 10 together
They deserve their own double sets damnit
pottyaboutpotter1
05-19-2017, 01:11 PM
It's always possible, but I doubt they will. This is my prediction:
Late Summer/Autumn 2017: Series 9 soundtrack
Winter 2017: The Husbands of River Song/The Return of Doctor Mysterio soundtrack
2018: Series 10/2017 Christmas Special soundtrack
Now we're out of the gap year for Who (with there being no incentive for Silva to release a soundtrack in a year Doctor Who isn't on TV) and Murray is now less busy (having scored a TV movie and another TV series in 2016), we'll likely see some movement on the soundtracks.
That said, we could be looking at:
Late 2017: Series 9/10 soundtrack (likely a 3 disc set)
2018: 12th Doctor Christmas Specials soundtrack (Husbands of River Song/The Return of Doctor Mysterio/2017 Christmas Special)
While the former is what we fans would prefer, the latter may be more appealing to BBC/Silva in terms of money (less soundtracks means lower costs and a better overall profit).
With it being likely Series 11 won't air until Autumn 2018 at the earliest, Silva will likely want to release all the Moffat era soundtracks before the Chibnall era begins.

The link in the index post (

I've finally sorted those SJA series 1 excerpts and have updated the (Un)official Soundtrack (
https://mega.nz/#!AOIlSaIB!hmUCUipIuQf1GeUTBi9D0VWbXHOdeY6dsT_vfPh2i1o)!
All series 1 tracks now have their original cue titles.
Despite only excerpts being available, there were 11 tracks that are available complete and these have been added:
First Day (Revenge of the Slitheen)
First Things First (Revenge of the Slitheen)
Trail (Revenge of the Slitheen)
Dirty Old Laundry (Eye of the Gorgon)
We Had Adventures Once (Eye of the Gorgon)
Rain Making (Warriors of Kudlak)
You're Never Coming Back (Warriors of Kudlak)
Limbo (Whatever Happened to Sarah Jane?)
Andrea's Story Part 3 (Whatever Happened to Sarah Jane?)
It Can't Be (Whatever Happened to Sarah Jane?)
Forget About School (The Lost Boy)
There will hopefully be another update soon where I've mixed the tracks from the suites with the excerpts so they'll have clean openings and partially better quality.

Well Lie Of The Land may have been a disappointing episode for some but IMO it had the best soundtrack by Murray Gold of Series 10 thus far.
I heard ATSSC/Locked On, I Am The Doctor (possibly), many This Is Gallifrey variations. Brilliant stuff.
The This is Gallifrey variations were great but I couldn't hear the I am The Doctor (surely that's not actually being used and you're just mishearing) or ATSSC/Locked On variations, where were they in the episode?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C4aeHnOh3Fk at 4:24 you hear ATSSC/Locked On and shortly after at 4:58 is what sounds like I Am The Doctor variation or a variation of Up The Shard which contains the rhythm of I Am The Doctor. That's what I was reminded of when I heard it.

Yes, Inferno downloaded - saved me a lot of work! Sounds terrific, so many thanks for putting these together.
I do have another query for anyone though (and apologies if this has been mentioned/answered before) - the link for the Mind of Evil is dead, and I was just curious as to whether any cues exist apart from the three that are on the 50th collection (i.e. the Master Theme, the Keller Machine theme and the Hypnosis Music)? And (of course), if there are more cues, whether anyone had uploaded them? Only those three are used on the DVD Photo Gallery for the story, so that suggests that's all there is, but I'm sure I read somewhere in this thread that the whole score existed? Any help appreciated!

Oh, and while I'm on, a similar query for the Seeds of Death - the link is dead, but (I think) the whole score for that is known to exist; is this what was uploaded from somewhere, or was it rips/Photo Gallery/50th Anniversary stuff? Again, huge thanks to anyone for any help.
Both of those were only what's available on the 50th anniversary soundtrack.

Probably one of my favorite scores of the series, especially the variation of the sontaran theme.
Hope you all enjoy!

The updated Adventure Games collection is on the way, probably with one of the next two uploads. Found LOTS of new cues that I'd missed!

Thanks Zak! Really excited for The Adventure Games update! (Will that be the final update, having gone through it all by then?)

Most likely. As far as I know, every game has been accounted for in this version, including the Eternity Clock. It's about as final as it can get.
