There's a few tracks on the 25th anniversary soundtrack, which can be found on Dr Matt's big soundtrack post.

These are the tracks I had to hand. I do own this album (I may even have two copies!), so I will have a look and get back to you. I think the other tracks aren't DW related, so will move our deliberations to a PM once I've checked.

Brilliant, thanks! :)

As I work feverishly on finishing up my Era collections... I have a request from anyone that can help...

Is there any one out there who can provide the order in which cues were used in "The Web Planet" and "Galaxy 4"? I have all the individual pieces but its hard work to sit and listen to each episode and then bounce between each file of music to see which one each cue is and where exactly it is trimmed. If anybody knows of a list with the tracks in order ro is willing to provide me with one... I would be ETERNALLY grateful. Especially with Galaxy 4 as the audio on the recon is a bit distorted and rather muffled music-wise. lol

I've already done something similar. Not every cue (hate that word, makes me think of snooker) has been matched, therefore I've slipped in the original from the episode and cut around the racket (tennis). Someone uploaded a couple of the albums of structure sonores onto you tube a while back in one big lump (butter) but did not identify which track is which, or even the album they came from. So I spent the best part of a day preparing the below. Some of the cues (shopping) were repeats so I only done the one in most cases. As for lists of what was what, God knows where you'll find that. Those PASBs that people keep pointing to are sometimes utterly unhelpful. Look at Crater of Needles. Yes, the first bit of music used is from something with Rhapsody in its title, it was used in the first episode. But the longer piece used during the fight between the Menoptra and the Venom Grub is not the same, although it is called the same on the PASB which is prepared by a very bored director's assistant (I think) after the studio day. And they get careless. The Web Planet also featured some special music sound by Brian 'The Man' Hodgson and I've put them in too.

Very nice of you to do this but as the Era collections are all my work and my vision, I was hoping to have the track list in order just so I could then do the edits myself and create the suites.

Any chance you could send me a list of the order the tracks go in? That's honestly all I need.

ETA: I am also trying to shy away from "special sounds" unless absolutely necessary as not everyone considers them music and sometimes they sound exactly like what they are meant to be... sound effects. ;)

Don't give up hope. Once the TARDIS boxset is released I have no doubt that a Day/Time soundtrack will be Silva's next priority. I'm expecting to see it around August time considering that's when the Series 7 soundtrack was released last year and it's when Series 8 is expected to air (would make a nice tie-in).

As I explained earlier, I don't have any list. I did it the way you said you don't want to. Search and find. Seek and locate. I didn't write it down because there was no titles to write down. I don't know the name of the albums nor their tracks. And I did the cut togethers tracks ages ago, incidentally. My edits use only what was heard on the TV, not the whole, dreary tracks!

Some pieces are listed in the Galaxy 4 camera scripts if you can get your hands on them, but not all are named.

Fun, though, if you're in the right mood. Use what I've done as a guide. It is split up and not merged. Yes, the audio for G4 is atrocious but I managed. Mind you, part 3 is rather good to listen to these days, don't you think?

Cast an ear over what I've done and you'll spot the bits I couldn't find on that you tube presentation (is it still there? Can't find it). You may have the missing bits.

I definitely will be checking your edits out. I just completed a nearly 8 minute suite of some Dudley Simpson music for a Troughton story (that's as much of a spoiler as I am giving anyone about what story lol) so I need to try and start G4 and Web Planet suites. ;)

I'm not sure if this is already available other than CD compilations, or whether what i am about to drone on about is already known, but here is the entire album for Illustrations No. 4 by Pierre Arvay. It was used for The Massacre. The tracks not used are pretty funky shake your mama but not on the sabbath type tracks.

Now then, usually three of his tracks are specified: Hunted Man (which opens each episode), Frightened Man (which follows Steven lurking about in parts two and three), and Little Prelude (which backs the massacre itself). However, eagle eared listeners might have noticed a 40 second sequence in the first episode, where Anne Chaplet is being hunted by the Catholics. There is a drum rhythm not taken from the three specified tracks, and as usual, the blasted PASBs don't mention any additional track for the first episode. It mentions a 40 second usage of something but attributes it to the opening track. Which it ain't. The script certainly doesn't mention it.

Well, as you will hear, this track is actually called Breathe of Fire. In the rar. file, I have included the actual scene for you to compare.

Again, this may have already been put up. If not, Happy Easter.

We are of course all assuming it is a done deal the time and day of will get releases, especially separate releases. I wonder considering the amount of reused score. Perhaps a combined album of new cues only. I am not aware if Silva has suggested these are indeed in the works?

I just came across gold on Youtube.

Many people hated the Neil Hannon cover of 'Song For Ten' on the Original Series 1+2 Soundtrack, saying they much preferred the Tim Phillips version.

Here it is:
Doctor Who Unreleased Music - Song For Ten (sung by Tim Phillips) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BFGJz7IKI2o

Along with:
Adeola - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C57pk17srSs
Reunion - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kPBpvAft4uk

These three pieces were extracted from the 2006 Advent Calendar on the BBC website, and therefore not rips from the episodes - and Murray included more (unknown whether unreleased or not) music in the 2008 calendar, but the link doesn't work anymore.

Anyway, if anyone has access to the 2008 music, I'm sure we'd all love it.

I just came across gold on Youtube.

It really is a shame that the videos are so low a quality, which will probably affect the audio quality... (I've not listened to them yet) It is also a shame that I am unable to download the original files from the site as they appear to have been removed or have stopped working. All I can say is that at-least these are still available to listen to!

https://mega.co.nz/#!ZNwThSpb!o9fXCUIGrCA-5esBpHEyVw4qr4_X_f3g1B_ximDF5nw - I've downloaded the videos and converted them to flac.

If you have my rips of music for The Christmas Invasion, the track presented replaces track #21, and for Army of Ghosts, tracks #2 (replaced with Reunion) & #7 (replaced with Adeola) are replaced.

I'm currently going through the other advent calenders to see what music is presented, so far I have been able to successfully download "The Rugged Cross", a song recording that was used in Gridlock. https://mega.co.nz/#!tYInEQZZ!2ldPPrYsEN9zXtoJS-OuN1H0cmgHT1yEkxfXmoUA38w

Mine doesn't have any; pure Simpson sexiness. In fact, there are some moments in the episodes where there is no background sound to the music. I'm thinking of Zoe and friend crawling through a duct. Quite unique in them days.

I count things like machine noises and background hum of beams building up (even if ever so slight) as "special sounds". Haven't heard your edit so I don't know if we have the same definition of "special sounds" or not. But yes, the suite I have arranged, mixed, produced and created is 7:42. I checked it last night. ;)

Can someone please re-upload what has been posted for clean tracks from The Sarah Jane Adventures, so I can compare the quality of what I have to that of what has been posted on here. (So then I might be able to post what I have in better quality... (Or just all 65 tracks that I have... (Most of them have been posted here already, but these have been sorted into order of what story they come from))

Here is something interesting. These may not be the originals (one certainly isn't), but at the end of this 1969 album are five or six tracks from the previous year's The Invasion. One is called Aunty's Army, and for those who remember the UNIT theme, will recognise it instantly.

This is halia meguid recording of the singing portions of the Sirens Song from 'The Curse Of The Black Spot'. halia meguid provided the vocal work for The Angels Take Manhattan and A Town Called Mercy.

She also produced a click track demo of 'The Long Song' which was to be used as practice for the actors: The Music of Doctor Who. (http://doctorwho-music.tumblr.com/post/47862907131/dustyteeth-by-request-this-is-the-original)

Does anyone have a mp3 copy of it?

I'm also wondering where "Hindu Funeral Drumming" by John Levie was used. Every source states that it played at the car park search scene, but can't found it (or I misses it everytime).
Does anyone have an info about that?

This is completely fascinating and brilliant by the way. I never even knew about this particular library LP with the Invasion cues and I thought I knew most things about Doctor Who scores. How did you find out about this? Is it common knowledge because I've never heard of it before.

Just found this information about the Original Series 1 and 2 soundtrack:

"In his sleevenotes, and in an interview with DWM in the week of the disc's release, Gold acknowledged the brievity of the selection and the complete lack of music from episodes such as The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances and The Idiot's Lantern, tantelisingly suggesting a Volume 2. In an earlier interview, Gold had mentioned that he would have been perfectly happy for his original scores to have been presented in full as downloads from iTunes, but that BBC Music (or perhaps another arm of BBC Worldwide) felt uncomfortable with the unmanageable format."

If Murray had his own way, who knows what would've happened! And I mean that in a good way.

Well, this was relatively new to me, but I had a vague recollection that one or two tracks of his stuff was used in other programmes and had been given to a library producer. I think someone is reissuing the LP sooner or later, and I stumbled across this LP on a very comprehensive library music blog. It's where I found the LP which was used on The Massacre (which I was very pleased to find as at last I could get my hands on the forgotten fourth cue. I still maintain that some of his is a new recording.

Doncha just love Aunty's Army though?

In my opinion it's all rerecorded from what appears on screen in the Invasion. I just don't believe it's possible that the BBC would allow the release of tracks recorded for one of its programmes on a library LP. It is a marvellous thing though and calling a track Aunty's Army is really quite cheeky.

I haven't checked in this case, but it's usually the other way round. The BBC has extensively used library tracks in DW. In the sixties this was for reasons of cost amongst other things. I've never heard of a specially composed track being released to a library music company for inclusion on one of their albums.

The Beeb is nicknamed Auntie. I imagine 'Aunty's Army' simply refers to something else.

I think that after Don Harper had his two BBC gigs in 1968, he went and recorded an LP for Chappell of library music. He just borrowed from his own scores. Who would notice? I swear I remember someone say they heard one or two of these new versions on some film series. He did an episode of Out of the Unknown which I think was done before The Invasion, but shown after. I wonder if any of his music used for that production makes a re-recorded appearance on this LP?

Aunty's Army is still the best thing I've heard in yonks. Seriously, bury me to it.

I don't have them yet, but I am in two minds to get them, plus I think they've released a Ghost Light album too, I thought DrMatt would have had Caves & Ghost Light covered with his isolated scores, but I could always get them just for collecting sake! If anything I'm just waiting for my 11 disc 50th Anniversary Collection to arrive, that's got some material that should keep us all happy! Plus I am planning to donate some money towards funding a Blu Ray release of Marble Hornets, so I'm kinda disobeying the Aztecs and spending somewhat recklessly! Deary me!

That's interesting. She must have helped with the enhancements. Those bits of Carnival on the DVD sound like they don't have all that electronic jiggery pokery overlaid. I think they found some sound rolls amidst her collection too IIRC, like from The War Games.

Don't forget that Carnival was the first story made for that season, and was therefore the first recipient of the infamous Delia/Brian/Paddy Delaware arrangement.

Ok everyone, sorry it's taken me virtually a day to make so little progress, but I did have to start from scratch with the FLAC rips and MediaFire was at an all time slow (couldn't resist)
But anyway, I have the Series 1 & 2 Original Television Soundtrack and all those lovely Photo Galleries I have here for you all! You'll notice with a fair few of the older stories, the track 'Timelord Court Atmosphere' from The War Games has a habit of turning up unexpectedly, but there are some goodies here, like the Inferno Nightclub music is all there in The War Machines (also some rather pleasant elevator music is in Planet of Giants for some reason!)! So if you get the chance to listen through them, I hope you'll enjoy them and I'll be sure to add more galleries as I get them! Also a last note: with the galleries I tried to list them in their story orders too, which is why there's no 'track 4' for the first disc for instance, because the gallery The Edge of Destruction is very short, so the Marco Polo one's tacked on the end, just like it is on the DVD, also with the 4th disc, I AM counting Shada as a story, I just hope it has a Photo Gallery!

We've already had the complete score to Day of the Doctor posted in the form of music rips from the episode, and Chris666eden has posted a few of the more memorable and important pieces of music from Time of the Doctor... (But, anything new would be good)

No idea hybryd01, I got the DVD last year and watched the Photo Gallery, I thought it might have just been BBC stock transitional music or something! I could be wrong though

In other news the last of CGCJ's request is finally here! Get it before they take the links or something!

Reckon it'd be possible to make a stand-alone list for The Invasion? We have The Dark Side of the Moon & The Company from the 50th Anniversary Collection and Musak can be obtained from one of the old Radiophonic albums I think, but it'll be in the 50th Anniversary 11 disc set according to the tracklisting, unless the photo gallery is missing some pieces of the score

The edits on the pilot theme were noticeably different, as was the melody sound, with a much shorter delay on the echo effect. Also, the thunderclap was just dubbed on as part of the title test, not an actual part of the theme. ;)

You Can't Leave Me (From 'The Mad Woman in the Attic')
No Way Out. Either Way, I Lose (From 'The Wedding of Sarah Jane Smith')
Always The Doctor (From 'The Wedding of Sarah Jane Smith')
The Marchwood Children (From 'The Eternity Trap')
Darkening Confrontation (From 'The Eternity Trap')
A Dream, a Loser and a Flower (From'The Nightmare Man')
You Belong To Me (From'The Nightmare Man')

There is also an extended version of Luke Figures It Out that I think is extended with a good rip from the episode.

I was out of town for 4 days so no work happened at all during that and I can say that some "remastering" is beginning on the completed eras (Davison - McCoy) that needed a little bit of "enhancement". Hey hey hey! I'm cutting it close to that 24 hour presumption, would have had the Series 6 soundtrack up a while ago but MediaFire messed up, so Elliot and those who want, here's the Series 5 Soundtrack, I'll also edit this post to include the Series 6 one as well, so keep an eye out for that!
Also something to point out: when the Series 6 soundtrack gets here, you know those little log files that are in the others? Well the Series 6 one says that the last track of Disc 1: Melody Pond, was cancelled, don't let it phase you, I kinda prematurely ejected the disc when it was on that track, but I sorted it, the track will play fine :)

I don't suppose anyone has isolated the soundtrack for The Light At The End yet? Jamie Robertson's stuff is spine-chillingly, soul-tingly, mind-spasmingly good -- his theme for the Eighth Doctor is all I'm listening to at the moment. Will sell kidney for more.

No, because I don't think there is any way to isolate the score from the audio, as all of Big Finish's audio stories are presented in stereo...

https://mega.co.nz/#!UdA3wDST!h3RTGz10S6Nw9A0kUkdPiFvGwTHXnfKtx1VzAhJ pq0I - This includes all Big Finish Doctor Who music I have, not just the Eighth Doctor tracks.

Ah yes, I've heard that one, nice track. Pretty sure I downloaded your most recent Big Finish music collection: that was where I first heard There's A Man I Know, so chances are it's on my pc somewhere already. I just have such a thing for leit motifs, it was so exciting for Eight to get his own – and just as awesome as Ten or Eleven's.

Sorry to seem rather demanding, this being my first post, but has anyone re-uploaded the scores that were previously posted on now defunct uploading sites? I only just realized how much I loved the classic-series music, and am now starting a project to obtain them all. I don't suppose there's any... centralized source like a torrent perhaps? ;)

From Doctor Who News:

Lost in the Dark Dimension
Sunday, 11 May, 2014 - Reported by Marcus
Lost in the Dark DimensionA new fan made animation of the unmade thirtieth anniversary story Lost in the Dark Dimension is being released on YouTube.

The story was originally written in the early 1990's, by journalist and long-time Doctor Who fan, Adrian Rigelsford and commissioned by BBC Enterprises as a direct to video release. The production was intended to be released to celebrate Doctor Who's thirtieth Birthday in November 1993.

The project was abandoned after it encountered a number of problems including issues on actor availability and problems with rights to the series which resided with Philip Segal who was attempting to interest American producers in a co-production.

A team of professionals and amateurs are now working together to try to complete an animated version of the story. Part One has now been released on YouTube and features Big Finish veteran Paul Jones as the Fourth Doctor, with theatre performer Jennifer Knighton and video game actor Graydon Schlichter also appearing alongside a complete cast of other semi-professional actors. The animation is being produced and directed by James Walker and Jay Hale.

Part One is now available on YouTube (http://youtu.be/rilhirixZxs).

lol they were just uploaded few days ago by dragonOllie15, read the last two pages behind this one xD.

Just a note peeps as an alternative download option, I set up a doctor who official soundtracks thread not too long ago and within each embedupload link there's at least one link up right now.
Thread 170820

So shall the day dragonOllie15's links go down, you can check out that thread if you like :).

Not to derail dragonOllie15's efforts though, I very much prefer his lightning Mediafire links to my poop slow avg. 50kbit speeds on less-known sites. They're just there for longevity ;)

P.S. Thanks for the 4-disc 50th anni. set!

The rar file is actually passworded, if you read the instruction txt file it says to retrieve the link to the rar and the rar's password at the last paragraph of whatever essay you get. Format is something like: "blahh blah blah (link) blah blah blah 'password': (password) blah blah."

Sorry for making this tedious, just want to make it as hard as possible for the links to go down by making the link reporters to have to go through these passworded rar's every time and then go through reporting each embedupload link. The idea is to keep the links up forever, but it's just a test at the moment (I may take down the rar's and instead directly put up the links instead).

Ok, here's the series One stuff. Please, be gentle. I did my best. Mostly just editing silences and a clumsy attempt to level volume. Tracks are a "best guess" sorta kinda maybe in order. I used Murray's comments in the booklet of Series One's OST to place some into Series One, despite the actual track names. I am sure a lot is out of order, espicially at the end. Chronology comments welcome. Anyhoo. ( I am kinda embarrassed to share..:()

Just hit a bit of a snag with the Era collections. A couple of suites are going to need a massive overhauling in regards to repairing the source files but so far, I'm liking the results even if it is a bit tedious.

I hope I'm not sounding fussy but I just had a look at the original tracklist - some aren't here. I've got all I wanted, trust me. But I'm just curious where the missing tracks are.

After asking for many links and barely giving anything in return, I've decided to finally make myself of some use.

In around 30 minutes, I will be uploading a zipped file containing both released and unreleased music.

It will contain:
- The official Series 1-4 soundtracks.
- The Series 1 and 2 Master Tapes.
- The exclusive Series 1 tracks that were very recently uploaded here.
- Chris666eden's Series 1-4 unreleased soundtracks.
- Bootleg containing the entire soundtrack to The Girl in the Fireplace (excluding the scene before 'Madame de Pompadour' but that is substituted by a beautiful alternative version). This was originally posted by Amanda, but her Mega account was terminated. Luckily, I had downloaded it :)

Due to copyright violations, I will permanently delete the (upcoming) link at 23:00 (GMT London time).[COLOR="Silver"]

There are four folders:
- Two folders for the unreleased selections.
- Folder 3 is a bootleg album for Series 1 and 2.
- Folder 4 is Chris666eden's unreleased music.

Folders 3 and 4 are irrelevant.

Amanda stated in the original post that she could upload a link for all 54 tracks - 98 minutes in total. If you count up all the tracks in the first two folders, there's only 46.

I've renamed each track from the Girl In The Fireplace soundtrack and have also added in the missing tracks 'Take My Hand' & 'Pick A Star' Also includes the official track 'Madame De Pompadour' from the Series 1 & 2 soundtrack since it is used to close the episode and an alternate version of track 18 'The Monsters And The Doctor' which I don't think was used in the episode.

Would you lot like me to upload the 'Take My Hand' and 'Pick A Star' tracks OR the whole soundtrack with correct track titles and the missing tracks?

Really? on my copy there all in order. no numbered duplicates. I think its mediafire, it does mess up the way everything is in the folders sometimes. that's why i haven't used it in AGES. Also 'Take my Hand' & 'Pick A Star' are not on the original Girl In The Fireplace soundtrack. That soundtrack stops just after the mirror is broken but before the doctor and Renette look up at the stars from the window.

I'm fairly certain The Cyberleader Runs Amok goes right before March of the Cybermen, because it plays in the scene when Mercy is integrated into the Cyber King, the scene after is basically when all hell breaks loose and MOTC plays.

Having not seen Asylum of the Daleks since its original broadcast, I'm completely lost on which order these new tracks go with Chris's previous tracks...

Those two are already in collection... Or the titles are just the same.

EDIT
So they're expanded. And "Winter is coming" goes before "A Tear For Intelligence"?

Here are Lawrence Leonard's Mediaeval Drama (Parts 1-3) (http://www.mediafire.com/download/j1boo9drl3ut7zy/The_Tome_Muddler.zip), as used in The Time Meddler.

I believe I have also tracked down the monks' chanting music to the first disc of this (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Gregorian-Chant-Beuron-Benedictine-Martin/dp/B00HZ8J1TG) set, but haven't identified the specific tracks.

Wonderful! You can get this on Itunes track by track, but frankly so many of them, and so similar sounding I've given up trying to identify the very first bit used in the story, although some of the Antiphona ones from CD1 are familiar. Good find.

I just completely redid those tracks from scratch, managing to add clean sections in that make them distinctive from the CD releases. I don't have the snowmen unreleased soundtrack i did ages ago. Forgotten all about that. I'm basically uploading new tracks as I finish editing them.

Whilst waiting on someone for something, I've decided to re-rip the music from Death of the Doctor and incorporate all of the music sound levels:

My Husband's Home_Chapter Titles (http://www.mediafire.com/listen/aj3bfmhf3cr35h0/My_Husband's_Home_Chapter_Titles.mp3)

Little tweak I did to incorporate ''Chapter Titles'' to ''My Husband's Home'' so that it's a perfect scene.
The cover was done by me. I will probably do The Angels Take Manhattan Full CD this weekend which will include all of the Soundtrack used in the episode.

Enjoy!

Since The Krotons, The Caves of Androzani & Ghost Light soundtracks have been released shouldn't Silva Screen release more classic soundtracks. They could release The Ice Warriors, The Seeds of Death and The Sun Makers soundtracks (with special sound) since they exist in full and that apart from the Pyramids of Mars CD, Dudley Simpson hasn't had a standalone Doctor Who release.

I've always thought that State of Decay, Warriors' Gate, Logopolis, Castrovalva, Four to Doomsday, Earthshock, The Five Doctors, Resurrection of the Daleks and The Two Doctors should be released. But it's good we have Dr Matt's soundtracks overwise we would have nothing!

I've always thought that if the complete score survives to a classic episode, what's to stop a release of a soundtrack for a specific story. And if there's a few odd surviving pieces of music, like some of Dudley Simpsons music (I think, I'm not too sure), just stick it in another soundtrack, we'll be happy to have any previously unreleased music of his or anyone one else's, just any previously unreleased classic music would be great. They really do need to release everything that survives in the way of music for the classic series, rather than simply keep re-releasing the same pieces of music...

First thing first: "The Revenge Of The Cybermen". Mark Ayres mentioned that it exist in full. They can't release Blyton stuff or what?

I was able to pull nearly 8 minutes of music from Seeds Of Death without FX or "special sounds"... much more than the photo gallery. The amount used on the photo gallery does not mean it has a complete score.

The only one I had heard a rumbling about having a complete score was Sun Makers (of Simpson's work).

I swear he had said Seeds of Death exists in full. He used the original when he remastered the story for its first DVD release, which was yonks back. 2004? There are lots of passages which have no sound, just music, so he was quite lucky there. I used to wonder at how good the sound track was in places.

Chances are either Underwater Menace or Macra Terror exist with more than just one or two tracks. Considering how little was recorded, a good chance.

When the bloody hell it'll ever get released, Lord knows. Probably have to wait another ten years and another box set containing 80% of what we've already heard too many times.

But hooray, we got The Krotons. So grateful.

Hot today, very hot.
