Funny, you say proletariat. I'm living in Germany's "Ruhrgebiet", our countries former industrial powerhouse now all in shambles. There is a lot of romanticism associated with that and I, for a time, fell for that. Now i don't want to, in no way, ever again belong to the so called high cultural elite, in their brainyness they are the dumbest folks you can imagine. But i must agree. The proletariat as I've come to know it here, is nothing but a bunch of mindless, rough rabble falling for cheap gangsta fashion or Paris Hilton on the nose glossiness and it sucks big time they got no self-developed sense of culture whatsoever. I'm well off rather, but i neither mingle with the moronic golf club elite or these Hooters loving idiots. There always individuals of course. But talking "general cultural habitat" I stand by my opinion, about this least attractive, backwards, childish, most stupid part of Germany with no sense of self whatsoever. A few miles there is the Rhineland with Cologne and Duesseldorf and now that's the place to be in my county. Soon!

This is a common theme throughout the EU now. 70% of British 'industry' is service - they call it the service industry. What a joke. I also have no time for snobs and toffs, the elite so-called that run countries into the ground.

Didn't know this show before, but i really liked the one i had linked to, today : ) I found it very relaxing, in a way, they didn't put themselves in the foreground and the let featured people speak. Modern shows so much suffocate everything they feature. Even the voice over was very withdrawn and matter-of-factly.

I cannot believe that those bastards from Varese are releasing the new music! AND, it's a VERY small soundtrack release also! Like all those soundtracks from the 60's where you only get about half the score from the film! I'm sure that they will come out with a "Deluxe" soundtrack release next year, and charge 29.99 for it!
BASTARDS!!!

Hi Guys, thought I might share a picture with you. Very off topic, But as you can see from the bottom of my posts, it's the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who this year, and the Royal |Mail have released a set of Dr Who Stamps. So I thought it might be nice to put my lads on there as they have both played the doctor in a comic strip I made, and the eldest in a video I knocked together. Hope you don't mind, but I'm proud of my boys and like to show them off.

Perfect! It is fitting to honor THE Time Lord, even the youngest. Doctor, who? On TV, the only Doctor I have yet to watch, is the current. I hope to get the DVD sets, before he regenerates.

My boys haven't seen the stamps of them yet, as I have sent them to the Doctor Who Adventures Magazine that they read to see if they will print them on their letters page. They would think that would be so cool.
I'd give you links to download the series, but with your current connection speed it would probably take you a year to download. What I would say though, is that do not expect the same quality show as the ones with Christopher Eccleston or David Tennant. Matt Smith is a very good Doctor, but his stories are quite poor in comparison. Steven Moffat's productions are no where near RTD's. However, I still think they are worth a watch, and I still enjoy them mostly (some Who fans think of him the same way people here think of JJ Abrahams)

FYI, in 5 hours time, around 20 minutes of the OST will premiere on WQXR Radio New York (
http://www.wqxr.org/programs/movies/2013/may/04/) - more specifically the tracks:
Logos/Pranking the Natives
London Calling
The Kronos Wartet
Ship to Ship
Star Trek Main Title Theme
and a proper version of the track that was played in Luzern (
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sb7G_VxzZM4) - Ode to Harrison - not on the disc but may be a digital bonus track.
A similar sampler played yesterday morning on Radio Zoom Germany, no-one managed to get a recording of that though as far as I'm aware.

Don't know. Technically no need to record it per-se as the show should be available to listen to on the site right after it airs - if the previous shows are any indication, the MP3 used by the site's audio pkayer would be:

So yeah, check back around 3am BST/10pm NY time, but record just in case it doesn't work out. Bitrate is 128k. Will split/ID3-tag the tracks tomorrow AM (damn time zone differences means I can't stay up to listen to this), and upload as a "mirror" to anyone else's uploads.

As a big fan of all Star Trek score music, I'm very disappointed to hear that an indie rock/pop song will play over the end credits of Into Darkness. If this is true, this will be the first time there is no "End Credits" score for a Star Trek film. I thought track 14, "Star Trek Main Theme" or track 15, "Ode to John Harrison" would play over the credits. Hopefully, the information I read is wrong. Can anyone confirm this?

Don't worry, there is proper End Credits music.
It is composed similarly to the previous one:

I saw it a few hours ago. There is no song at the end of STID. Like the previous film, it ends with "Space, the final frontier..." and then it uses the Alexander Courage theme for most of the main credits, then it repeats what i'm calling the sad theme from the beginning of the movie (post-main titles). I'm not yet familiar with the track names. I admit I did not stay through the very end (I'm sorry for that), since I'm planning on seeing it again in six days' time (in IMAX). Since there are many spaceship scenes, the main theme plays a lot.

First thing listed. Just sayin'.
Nobody is actually uploading anything to this forum. The hot-water that's frequently touted by the limp-wristed nanny brigade is pure nonsense - "Oh you can't post that here, it's Varese". The whole site is a list of pointers to music and other data.
This is a long running issue which clearly highlights the naivety of users and either the stupidity or deliberate perversion of the law by corporate lawyers and/or authorities so-called and perhaps more sinisterly co-operation of forum moderators. And the moderators have jumped on the band wagon and are attempting to exact unreasonable demands - blatantly outside any form of law. In other words bullshit rules are not the law and can be safely ignored.
Going after the links and not the source is evidence of the stupidity and/or perversion/corruption by the lawyers/authorities. Thus, the statement "
http://depositfiles.com/files/rhlq7a4a2 links to Two Steps From Hell's 2010 Invincible album." can be supplemented with "Perhaps the copyright owner should do something about this?" shows a completely different interpretation to what a pushy lawyer may prosecute with. The prosecution is immediately disarmed, because there is no proof of intent to commit piracy.
And for all the moderators out there, copyright law should be enforced for every music publisher not just those listed. The kind of protectionism and/or favouritism shown here by disallowing some links is sickening. Take it all down or shut up. Don't play favourites.

Actually I've been asked this question many times. Why do some countries get to see American movies before the US? The answer: the studios set the release dates YEARS in advance, so when the movie is finished, the studios sell it to foreign distributors and markets and those usually don't have dates set in stone, so they can usually release the big blockbusters early, two weeks or one week. The American public usually has to wait until the date that was set in advance by the studios/distributors/cinemas. It does suck.

I can only repeat myself over and over again: Music publishing companies are stupid. "Product" was yesterday. The money today is in "Distribution". Run your own Megaupload business, charge people for THAT not your individual releases. It's really not so tough running a service like Megaupload and it's really not that expensive either. The service can be cheap, because you got masses downloading. I would be so willing to pay you a monthly fee, like i do with my mobile, like i do with my internet access. The single "Product" is dead! This is the age of data.

While we're discussing that topic... Why does the DVD/BluRay releases differ in different regions? Of course there is the issue of languages and subtitles, but that's not what i mean.
Example 1: Isolated scores. Why are so many of these present on the american releases and not in other regions?
Example 2 (and this one REALLY bothers me): The Shawshank Redemption. Why does this bluray release have HD audio in the american regions and NOT in the european? It has the old 5.1 AC3.
Example 3 (and this has nothing to do with physical releases): WHY can americans watch TV-episodes freely online, but not anyone else. If you try you just get the message that you are not from an allowed region. Yes, i know there are ways around that, but that doesn't address the issue of WHY? And the same at YouTube. Certain content is blocked in the rest of the world.
And on a nicer sidenote :) i won two tickets to the new Star Trek movie. I will go and i will enjoy it. For what it is. Competent SciFi action. But not Star Trek. You just don't take more than 40 years of Trek history and bury it. Perhaps it's a good thing that Abrams has signed on for Star Wars?

VERY good point, my friend, and I can only think that this is the age old situation, that the "power elite" jackasses have put into place to separate the public, this is the MAIN reason that they really HATE the internet, because it brings us all TOGETHER, a situation that they hate! From thousands of years ago, we had different lands, different rulers, and different languages, all seemingly to separate the masses, keep everyone off balance. From the beginning, we were told that the "end times" would be under a ONE world government, a one world monetary system, so that all the "faithful" people would be sure to steer clear of any situation like that! We also have to have separate regions for the DVDs, with different special features, to further that divide! As Gene said, so succinctly that the people today are ready NOW for the
23rd century, tired of their visionless leaders and narrow minded religious preachers! We are longing for a CHANGE, and we need it TODAY!

Talking about other Countries getting DVDs first. About 10 years ago I bought episodes of the TV series of Airwolf from Great Britain, but, they were not available here, the Country where they were released on TV first. I could have bought episodes of Knight Rider, The Incredible Hulk and more on DVD, but not in America.
When the series Lexx was released on DVD in the US, you could not buy the Season One at the time, except on VHS, I bought the DVDs from Canada. The short lived series Space Rangers, I bought the VHS of all 6 episodes, to buy them on DVD, I had to get the set from Australia.
So the problem was/is on going. And the studios wonder about piracy!

Almost all of the problems can be terraced to The Laws Of The United States and The Laws of The European Union and all the other country's! Our laws and like other country's, they are designed to protect the companies or individual(s) that own the copy rights and invested millions of dollars, euros, pounds or deutschmarks into these movies, music or whatever. It's that simple! it wont go away as long as money is involved! and money is not going away, without money or liberty you don't have any incentive to create anything...a good example the former (different name but under the same management) USSR, they had to steal just about everything from us (USA, Europe, England and the rest of NATO) because who the hell would want to create anything when the person that invented it is not going to get compensated for his or her work? no one I know! we all want a better life for ourselves and our family's and the only way that is going to happen is money! it's just simple economics.

That might address the 3rd of my examples
Example 3 (and this has nothing to do with physical releases): WHY can americans watch TV-episodes freely online, but not anyone else. If you try you just get the message that you are not from an allowed region. Yes, i know there are ways around that, but that doesn't address the issue of WHY? And the same at YouTube. Certain content is blocked in the rest of the world.
but it doesn't explain the first two
Example 1: Isolated scores. Why are so many of these present on the american releases and not in other regions?
Example 2 (and this one REALLY bothers me): The Shawshank Redemption. Why does this bluray release have HD audio in the american regions and NOT in the european? It has the old 5.1 AC3.
Why can't everyone have the opportunity to enjoy the same all over the world? Well, if i can't get the DVDs and Blurays i'm prepared to pay for (i'm no stranger to that even though i'm a shrinerist) without having to order it (expensive) from the US...
And the studios wonder about piracy!
... agreed.

You know, i just only really realized, that Star Trek and it's success were there first, that's easy to forget, when comparing it to Star Wars, today. One might argue that George Luca piggybacked on Star Treks huge success (1 million dollar per EPISODE in later syndication) by giving his own project the name Star Wars, were it could have had all kind of other names, really.

After reading a bit more on this subject I have discovered that it has to do with the studios making sure that a move, DVD or TV show DVD has time to pay out here in the USA and can not play in another region DVD player...Money! look the USA has 300 million people here, and the population of all of Western Europe? 400 million! JJ's bobbyprise last move made more money in Europe then here in the USA (go figure). No I am not offended at all! I'm sure it has to do with ASCAP rules, the contract with the composer and studio's, royalties, ad usum! and then add in the laws of other country's! if you don't go insane reading all this crap, then you have a sounder mind then mine!

And yet, the former soviet union slapped a copyright LOCK on all the works of Shostakovich, and didn't give his family a DIME (or Ruble) for all of his work. The entire works of this Russian musical genius has been yanked from every musical library in the entire WORLD, no sheet music, no unauthorized recordings, nothing!
As long as the power elitists rule and control the world, we are all screwed! Each and everyone of us!
William
Remember this is the same USSR that had a constitution that read like an exact copy as ours! but ignored every right guaranteed in it. Governments are instituted by mankind and can be changed, if you have enough people willing to sacrifice their blood! if not, then your stuck with one man rule, or you leave for greener pastures.

"Wachted" William Shatner's commentary on the Star Trek V bluray I rented. He sounds very humble and you can feel, below his usual noise, there is an actor in him, which takes all kinds of responsiveness and taking yourself back to make a cool collaborative thing.
Man, Shatner had PLANS with this movie. He wanted a truly STAR TREK message. He never plays the blame game, but there were many obstacles to his visions, some of them just budget and time constrains.
I wonder what Abrams commentary on his Star Trek would sound like. Certainly it's not message centered. Perhaps something like this: "I am not satisfied with this scene. My pulse went down a wee bit. And it was ugly, you know, I believe I had an actual thought! You can't rape an audiences mind like that..." :D

Don't know which "Writer's Interview" you're referring to, Olafolaf. In the season two set, there's a two-part documentary called "Making It So - Continuing STNG" (Part 1: "Strange New Worlds", Part 2: "New Life and New Civilizations"), which runs at approximately 82 minutes, but it contains interviews with actors, producers and other creative staff, not just the writers. Can't you be a bit more specific? Usually, those bonus documentaries have specific titles. Maybe, it's on one of the other sets?

The site is in Spanish, just click on "Greatest Science Fiction Hits, Vol. 1" for the link page. You need to download "Los_grandes_de_la_ciencia.zip" which is 56.4MB - best avoid the small .exe file.
Also if you scroll down to the comments (Comentarios!) you'll see a revised playlist - the first track is not Alien it's Moonraker.

Me too. The premise is VERY anti-Star Trek, it's pretty much a "revenge" tale. They could've avoided that simply changing a few dialogue lines: The don't go after the villain to get the son-of-a-bitch, but to protect even their enemies, The Klingos, of what might do on their home world. Imagine that. It would've have been VERY Star Trek. Otherwise, this has been a fine re-interpretation of very specific stories and characters we have seen before. And you know what that makes this? Fan Fiction. That makes me somewhat relaxed about Abrams now. He doesn't imprint himself on Star Trek. Yeah, he imprints his hyperactive style, but he only retells what's already there and the feeling that this is JUST an alternate universe grows really strong on you. Now this might not be intentional, but this makes the Trek before Abrams MORE valid and his less. He just having a little fun and we might not like it, but that's all he is doing. He isn't new, he isn't fresh, he isn't adding or changing or anything. His is the make-believe of Star Trek, while Star Trek, as it IS prevails. One more movie and we will be through with him. Looking through the net i already see alot of people who are becoming Fans of the Original (up to 2009 ;).
So when we look back on Abrams, we might find, he did a good thing for Star Trek: It's got people attention again. Not HIS Trek. The real one. Trek will continue without him and will get back "on track" like it has before him, with soul. You can't kill soul with just three movies. And soul has a way on growing on you. Have people watch Star Trek II (The Wrath of Khan) and I am SURE folks will get addicted to THAT and want to see more of the real thing.

Haven't seen it (will wait until it's on Netflix) but did see the first Abrams "Trek". I didn't dislike it as a movie (although I didn't necessarily love it), I disliked it as Trek. Perhaps that is the same sentiment you are intending to express here.

I will be seeing the new film tomorrow, and I have high hopes, since I'm not one to jam a film into any set format, like with Trek2009, except that it was a recycled script from "Nemesis", which was really obvious. I really hated seeing how (to slightly change the subject) Tom Cruise really crapped all over "Mission: Impossible" in the first movie, and made Jon Voight the bad guy!!! That's like finding out that James T. Kirk is actually a Romulan, altered to look human!!! AND NOW, apparently, Mr. Cruise is going after my most favorite childhood fantasy, and he's going to star and produce "The Man from U.N.C.L.E." with himself as "Napolean Solo"!!! W T F????? Is he going to make Mr. Waverly a WOMAN??? (not that this is my point, I totally accepted Dame Judith as "M", and sort of accepted "Starbuck" being female as well)
Why can't he just concentrate on Mission Impossible 5, which I read he just signed on for, and leave UNCLE to those better suited to make a great movie?? :(

You have to have hope! But if I were you I'd get your beer-goggles ready just in case.
UNCLE
Yeah, you gotta throw some women in there, otherwise it'll end up like Forbidden Planet with just Ann Francis to alleviate the scenery.
MI5
They're up to number 5 already? Pfff, feels like only yesterday that I saw MI2, the John Woo one with the flying motorbikes ha-yaaaaa! Total bollocks of course.

Just out of curiosity - there is a comic series featuring the continuing adventures of the new crew rehashing/retelling TOS stories. I've only read the first issue so far - familiar characters popping up (and will admit my TOS is rather rusty as I was a wee tacker when the first repeated in down under, thanks Mum and are eagerly waiting for my 6 year old to grow up a little more so I can introduce them to him and myself.)

I grew up on TOS and I saw Wrath of Khan in the theaters when it came out. So in theory I ought to be on the side of those slamming Into Darkness for its alleged sins against canon or whatever. But I had a grand old time at the multiplex yesterday - to the point where I'm considering going back for a second serving, which is something I never do any more. I love this cast (except for Chekov - who is tolerable), especially Cumberbatch, and the effects work remains outstanding.

My beef, is personal, if you enjoyed the movie, great, but I like a story, not eye candy and action. It was said that because of the movies that interest in TOS has increased, great, but how long until they get bored, with the lack of in your face action, and lack of much eye candy. It is about a story.
Let's take Gerry Anderson's Supermarionation series, they are puppet shows, but the stories are so good, that I forgot about the strings. They should have been a distraction, not so, good stories captivated me.
Now JJprise movies, distract with action and effects, at least the 2009 one for me, so I would not notice no story. I was disappointed with 2009, so I don't want to get back in that rut in 2013.
I have had my say, and just ask NOT to

Okay, gang, I just saw the new film yesterday, and there are some MAJOR spoilers coming your way, so if you don't want to ruin the movie for yourself, pan down to the next post!

Okay, first off, why is it that Abrams cannot come up with an ORIGINAL idea of his own? Why does everything have to be in an alternate universe?
First, he copies "Nemesis" almost detail for detail, and now he "channels" The "Wrath of Khan" movie, putting his own little spin on it! AND, instead of killing Khan, he's still alive, in the future, sleeping away with his superman/superwomen crew, awaiting to be dropped off on Ceti Alpha somehow! All the different uniforms really caused the audience to wonder what the hell was going on, and the dress uniforms looked like they were stolen from "Starship troopers", looking very "Nazi-ish" with their caps and all! If not Nazi, at least looking very RUSSIAN, hehehehehehehe
Don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed the film, but hated the fact that in the beginning, Kirk had really saved the day, saved a planet and it's people, and also saved Spock's life, but then everyone was ragging on him, and kicking him when he was down, losing his command and ship, etc. I found it to be a little too much. Shatner would not have put up with that shit!
I found Chris Pike's acting to be very good, and when Admiral Pike was killed, I was thinking: "Shatner couldn't cry like that"! It was a very nice scene.
Is it possible that the engine room in the Enterprise has gotten BIGGER? Now, the engine itself is 4 stories tall, looking like something out of Einstein's atom masher machines, or something like that. Puts me in mind of the huge machine that they had in the first TRON movie, where you had to climb up stairs to go to different levels of the machine.
I think that the CGI work was fantastic, and I really loved the city scenes, the visage was incredible, and I really loved they way that they put the people into that shot. Really believable!
AND, I noticed something that I didn't understand. I thought that CBS owned Paramount and Star Trek, but the beginning said "A Viacom company" under Paramount!!! Did I miss something? My DVDs all say "CBS" on them. W T F????
Anyway, I'm sure that there will be many more TREK movies to come, and Abrams will be the golden boy at the studio for years to come!
Oh, well.

Does anybody know if the new Best of Both Worlds Sonudtrack is already out?
This is the announcement from Crescendo/GNP for this release. At the end, you'll find the information you're looking for:
One of the undeniable highlights of television’s Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987–1994) was the two-part episode, “The Best of Both Worlds” (the third-season cliffhanger and fourth-season opener). For composer Ron Jones, “The Best of Both Worlds” marked the apex of his impact on the first four seasons of Star Trek: The Next Generation—a thrillingly dynamic symphonic score that fits the episodes like a glove. Jones’s achievement was so popular that it became only the second Next Generation soundtrack album released at the time of production.
Although the complete score is infused with Jones’s customary musical craft, the composer’s chilling theme for the Borg, often voiced by eerie synthesized chorus, dominates “The Best of Both Worlds.” It forms the basis for some of the score’s exciting action-oriented material. In the episodes’ quieter moments, Jones’ scoring is subtle yet melodic, with colors and harmonies chosen to evoke emotion without overpowering the onscreen drama.
GNP Crescendo’s 1991 soundtrack album from “The Best of Both Worlds,” containing the major cues from both episodes, was enormously popular. This Expanded Collector’s Edition, licensed by CBS Consumer Products, features the complete scores, adding the shorter, transitional moments that contain at least one piece of important thematic material missing from the original album. The 16-page booklet contains notes on both production and music by Lukas Kendall and John Takis—based on interviews with Jones and other primary source material.
“The Best of Both Worlds” is a testament to Jones’s remarkable talent and creative imagination—and to the unconquerable human spirit that is the essence of Star Trek. The Expanded Collector’s Edition CD is available for preorder, shipping beginning the week of May 27th.

Reply to William, spoilers
Okay, first off, why is it that Abrams cannot come up with an ORIGINAL idea of his own? Why does everything have to be in an alternate universe?
I believe the intent was to be able to tell new stories or put a new spin on established characters/events all the while leaving the universe that most of us know and love completely intact. It's the safe option.
AND, instead of killing Khan, he's still alive, in the future, sleeping away with his superman/superwomen crew, awaiting to be dropped off on Ceti Alpha somehow!
Who said they had to be dropped off anywhere? I think it's safer just to leave them asleep in a vault deep deep deep underground.
All the different uniforms really caused the audience to wonder what the hell was going on, and the dress uniforms looked like they were stolen from "Starship troopers", looking very "Nazi-ish" with their caps and all! If not Nazi, at least looking very RUSSIAN, hehehehehehehe
The uniforms were actually addressed in said movie, part of the growing concern that Starfleet was becoming more militaristic.
TNG had an episode on pretty much the same kind of situation of the Prime Directive and intervening in an imminent environmental catastrophe, Pen Pals. Second season, episode fifteen.
I found Chris Pike's acting to be very good, and when Admiral Pike was killed, I was thinking: "Shatner couldn't cry like that"! It was a very nice scene.
It really was a nice scene.
Well the reactors for previous Enterprises have been pretty large too if one reads the schematics and considering that this ship is, according to the Blu-Ray and a few film crew statements, 725 meters long one would need a big power source.
On the whole I liked the film. I see the 2009 movie as the popcorn action flick to attract the new audience, the hook in essence. This movie was a bit smarter, with a better villain and better plot. There was some mystery, some suspense, some action, some comedy, some romance, and I rather liked the different spin on the villain from the previous iteration. I look at Cumberbatch much as I do Heath Ledger. Ledger did an impressive Joker, but I'm also still fond of Nicholson's Joker from the 1989 Keaton Batman and Hamill's Joker from the Animated Series/Arkham games.

Here are the first two volumes of a compilation series I've created. Well, to be fair the first volume was mostly compiled by the Franklin Mint blog but I added a few extra tracks, removed a repeated track and put together the composite album art. I'm working on a third volume presently. The first volume includes that theremin-and-lyrics version of the Alexander Courage theme I mentioned earlier in this thread (track 15).

Yes, it's very sad, Izbot took off over a year ago, and has not come back. He's still over at "Bolt" if anyone is on there. I got banned from there for putting a request in the WRONG thread, and one strike and you're OUTTA there! hehehehehe. Such is life, it was a really crappy site with very few visitors and posts, so on to bigger and better. If anyone got these anywhere, would appreciate a new link and a share, PLEASE?

Theme from Star Trek - One Million Miles [Single] (2008)
Two Of Galaxy
German trance mixes. Some confusion exists concerning this recording. Both iTunes and Amazon Digital also offer a single called "Star Trek Tekkno Mix" credited to Orion which features the same music as this one by Two Of Galaxy. This is an error. Orion's Tekkno Mix was originally released in the early nineties and is completely different (I hope to acquire it someday and add it here). I have added a scan of the erroneous Orion cover in this download (the original Orion cover shows Kirk and Spock in the center box now occupied by planet earth).

There are navigational dolphins on deck 13 in TNG. They are never seen.
The cover makes no sense. It might as well have been pink elephants on parade.

Bolt gets a fair bit of traffic, but the Trek thread there is dead-ish too. Last I looked Izbot was not active there either. I don't think he left here, I think is is "missing" in general. Dreamrevolution, I can help with some Trek, and Sorei also.

Hi. I just got my copy this morning. LaLaLand has done a great job in remastering this beautiful. All the blaster effects have a powerful feel to them compared to all the other ST TMP soundtracks that I heard.
Here are some links to the Flac copy of the soundtrack. I have no plans to re-upload the files in the event that they are pulled, so grab them while you can.
Conceder this an incentive to buy the soundtrack if you enjoy it.

The Rapidgator Files keep dying on Me whenever I try to download them. I always get a "Download Interrupted" & when I press resume It says that It can't. I know that I'm using an older laptop from a few years ago but THIS is nuts. >:(
I never had this kind of a problem with other download sites. Can anyone please reupload them to places like Mediafire or 4shared or something? I'm not trying to sound rude or anything like that. I just want to avoid problems & frustrations on here. The last thing I wish to Do is to start a fight.

You are obviously only used to downloading. The other side of the coin is uploading, which has its frustrations too. A file can be downloaded in a couple of minutes, but can take maybe an hour to upload. Furthermore it can stay active for as little as 4 weeks. It can also be detected as infringing copyright and be removed, or someone can maliciously complain and have it removed without any right of appeal. In short hours worth of effort can be wiped out in seconds.
Mediafire and 4shared do not allow anonymous uploads making it risky to use if you'd rather not be prosecuted.
On restarting downloads, I've found Jdownloader 2 to be very reliable. My browser never allows restarts, but Jdownloader 2 almost always does.

And, aside from all of that, Mediafire has become very quick and efficient at detecting and deleting files. It is pretty much not worth the time to upload there anymore. Some links disappear within minutes of upping. :(

I was listening to NPR's On the Media, and they were discussing Star Trek, more about TOS and Fanon. Then they started playing Star Wars music. I started laughing that they messed up, then I heard it was a joke and then....our theme played, and goosebumps. I guess 2009 and 2013 movies MIGHT have a positive impact on Star Trek fandom....but, I will not voluntarily admit that.

Whoever wants to, can rationalise the new derivative Star Trek. However, all the rationalising in the world will not conceal JJAbrams as a cinema butcher, or "The Butcher of Star Trek" and soon to be "The Butcher of Star Wars". He's laughing all the way to the bank.
It would have been far more acceptable all round that new characters were created, and not re-issuing existing ones. But this seems to be an ever-growing trend these days. I.e.
