Thanks a lot for the missing tracks.
Personally, I hate dramas because I consider these tracks useless for western listeners who don't understand Japanese. And I truly can't stand some of these silly modern feminine voices that's Japanese voice actresses use since mid 90's.
But it's better having full albums without missing tracks after all.

Then thank god we all think differently. Useless for some, Good for others.

Jun'ichi kanezaki is my main reason in wanting these. Not that I don't like Masahiro's music. I wish I could have more from him as I do like his composing style.
In here Mashin wataru 3, I swear that I feel that Masahiro's music world fit PERFECTLY in Shuten Doji anime. I feel like they are all image tracks from a lot of specific scenes in Shuten Doji, and they really play out lout well in it.

I'm in the U.S. The throttled downloads from mediafire are the same for every browser I use. They were fast in december though. :(

I used to have that a couple of years ago, but got rid of it after reading about it being malware. Java is known for being vulnerable to exploits.

TBH, I'm not actually sure if this is a BGM OST since it comes with 2 LPs and most 80s anime soundtracks with 2 LPs were usually drama albums from what i've seen

Not my RIP. I didn't find this album in lossless anywhere around the net. I finally kept it from an obscure site in MP3 CBR 320KBps with a very good sound (better than a crappy 128KBps).
All files didn't have tags or proper names (like "Track01.mp3", "Track02.mp3", etc.). So I properly tagged and named these tracks in Japanese to match exactly with their original names (thanks to VGMdb).

I'm sorry but MP3 and FLAC cannot sound the same !
Because MP3 is 320kbps (max) and FLAC or lossless is 1411kbps.
The sound in MP3 is compressed, the real sound quality is gone ...

Let's not go down that street... It's just that, for some people, they cannot perceive the difference between a good mp3 encode and a FLAC file, or the difference is so marginal for them that they just simply care less. Also, not everyone has the proper setup to appreciate them. So yeah, FLAC is the high quality file, just sometimes is not worth it for some people. And sometimes you cannot be picky about it when the mp3 comes from a damn hard to find cd.

Let's not go down that street... It's just that, for some people, they cannot perceive the difference between a good mp3 encode and a FLAC file, or the difference is so marginal for them that they just simply care less. Also, not everyone has the proper setup to appreciate them. So yeah, FLAC is the high quality file, just sometimes is not worth it for some people. And sometimes you cannot be picky about it when the mp3 comes from a damn hard to find cd.

Oh, not telling you what to comment or not, that would be innapropiate from me. Just friendly advice. Consider that most of the material here is hard enough to find as mp3, less much the opportunity to find it in FLAC, We're lucky enough to get so many old gems to listen to. I do get your point and of course I like FLAC, but all things considered, mantaining such a collection is hard. For those I find that I think are special enough, I keep them as FLAC or ALAC. Those I think are good but not that rare, I convert them to m4a HQ vbr, that gives a good size and preserves much more quality than a mp3 (IMHO, that is).

Be thankful that someone at least shares something as the person best abilities. Flac or mp3, at this point, it does not matter, there are those who prefer mp3 and those who prefer flac. There are those who have money for hyper hd stuff to hear flac, and others don't. We are all equal in loving music, and sharing it with the next-, we are not different just because some prefer flac and some prefer mp3. There is not even a war on that; the only war on that subject is assholemania and forced opinions that I have seen so many times.
Take Away prefers Flac. So what? I prefer Mp3. And? AMFG likes m4a HQ vbr. aaaand? Everyone is free to chose what best suits them, be it in HDD space or not.
We all have different opinions, choices and reasons about lossless and lossy, and that does not mean we are all assholes with shitty opinions.
I hear no difference at all in flac and mp3, and even if I heard it, fuck it. I am not rich enough to have millions of hdd to store more the 10 thousand anime, game soundtracks and live action movies soundtracks asian-american-european. I download flac sometimes to upgrade some old my mp3s from back 2002, when it was already difficult to find a complete soundtrack of anime shared on the web, and people usually would do bad rips with lot of strange noises or just lower then 96 kbps.
Hell, in 2001, I downloaded from some website, 96 kbps mp3 of Dragon Ball z Best collection (http://www.discogs.com/Various-Dragon-Ball-Z-Dragon-Ball-Best-Collection/release/4469419), and I still have that those mp3 I made into audio CD. Hey!!! I was just more then happy to have that and to be able to listen. Quality? what is that? It was audible enough for my ears, even in 96kbps. something I got more aware about how mp3 works years later, and I was amazed how good the sound was from it.
People now, at least its what I feel, just can't feel any appreciation if a mp3 is shared of something rare and act more like assholes "oh mp3, never mind". nevermind? be happy that at least you can listen it. Be happy that someone manage to get those files, from god knows why, or even sold a liver to get the mp3 of a rare ost, or EVEN made a deal with the devil to share it in here.
Some years ago, I made a trade with a guy that had the physical cds for compiler and parasite dolls, and after we made the trade, the files were ripped by that god-awfull windows media player into wma... yeah, the sound was nothing pretty, but I did not told him that he did bad job or something, I asked him if had anything else to rip, and he could not use it for some reason, I don't know. I was happy at least to have the ost of parasite dolls that now is available even in Bakabt. At the time I shared it in here for everyone's sake.
So, quality is subjective. Myy files sound good for me just fine, but for others not. Not my problem. I am not going to change my sex just because people don't like what they see. (weird metaphor I know xD)

Most old stuff has no flac of it. Why? People didn't know flac existed in the early years of the internet, I'd even go as far to say.. it didn't exist. But... I wouldn't know. Back when I first started collecting mp3s everything was 24 kbps quality... everything.
Than slowly 76 kbps, 96 kbps... than finally around maybe 2000 or so the fabled 128 kbps came out. At this time this seemed amazing quality compared to the older stuff I had.

But since most people weren't going re-ripping their stuff, or willing to re-rip and retrade, I got stuck with the qualities I already downloaded. Unless someone new ripped it at this... it simply didn't exist. It was probably around this time, maybe closer to the 96 kbps era, that I finally started trying to find and buy CDs of my own. Being I was not yet aware that the internet sold things... I had to find them locally, which being in the US was limited selection, and all newer releases; nothing old.

Finally around 2004 or so the new 320 kbps came out, now this was still usually cbr; vbr I don't know if it simply came out later, or rippers finally started offering it... but wasn't quite around. So I was able to do better rips of CDs I personally owned... but still screwed on old stuff from the net.

Probably about 2006-2007 I started ordering my first online CDs. And since most people still weren't re-upping old stuff... anything not 320 was stuck at not being 320. Finally Flac started coming around about this time...
I had made a few rips and listened even than, and heard no difference (mind you I had cheap speakers, and a very cheap sound card back than); (though I already stated above I have at least middle-end quality ones now and still hear no difference). And since I heard no difference, saw no reason to keep a file that was usually 10x's larger when I could barely afford HDs; and thus always converted anything downloaded as flac (or other lossless).

And there I stand now. Anything I get anything not mp3... it gets converted; period. Mostly as Orie said for saving space on HD; but since I hear no difference; and am not planning on spending $500 a speaker so I can... I will keep doing so. (btw, I can practically build a brand new PC for $500; at least motherboard and newest processor + ram and just put old HDs in it)... (yes I build my own pcs, live with it... >p)

Hey, I remember when I got music in mp2 over at 28.8k modems on god forsaken FTPs I had to search WITHOUT google. And you cried tears of happiness for it.

My first mp2 ever was a track from Saber Marionette J soundtrack Iza Jounjouni Jouni (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MzhbQvsh8lg&index=12&list=PLa10YQkKvZsM2LVgaDmozcJ_Sz0tz69O9) the second part of the track. I went in so much trouble at the time because I wanted to recorded it in audio, and then I find out it was mp2. I call it quits, and I so happy that least I had one of my favorite tracks from it.
This last December, I bought both soundtracks for my own nostalgia enjoyment, because Saber marionette J, both anime and soundtracks have a very strong place in my heart.
I was happy back in 2000 when I got some vocal tracks in mp3 and that mp2 track, and record it into audio cds, then recorded those cds into audio tapes, because I only had a walkman for audio tapes, and I still have it (Philips). Imagine: I was god super happy having some vocals songs I loved so much; I have the 2 soundtracks now, almost 20 years later in my life, I was just a 5 year old child with bursting tears of joy, even when I already have all soundtracks in mp3 (got them all around 2005).

In addition to the wonderful literature review, some real wisdom has been spoken! :) You do certainly need some special load of special equipments & acoustics in order to find the real difference between the real music format. Which I think should also include +150 dollars headphones, outstanding sound-card and maybe a special room with special red pillows furnished on the wall like the ones on orchestra rooms xD

Still, however, I am aware that I might get some attack from dedicated FLAC followers, saying that I have some deaf on my ears xD, but I care less. Always remember dear ffshriners that it is, in the end, about the feelings of music that gives us, forget about this format war :)

The answer is "2", but I have typed the number, the first letter of the word in indonesian the word in "dua" that means "2". And always gives error. Unless I am reading it in the wrong way.

I recently listened to the Arslan Senki OSTs (a MUST listen btw) and was rather intrigued with one of the vocal tracks in the III & IV OST called "Ryoute Ippai". I was wondering if anyone knows a similar sound to this song or any old jpop artist with this type of composition. The Dragonar series has, by far, my favorite line-up of composers and arrangers. The music is incredible! I am waiting on hard-copies of these CDs to arrive, but I took a listen to your downloads, yukinok25, and it's like sampling an xmas present a little early. Thank you for the share!

I think this might be a good place to ask, since everything revolves around old anime as well. When I was a little boy, a TV channel (Imevision, now TV Azteca) used to showcase a lot of old dubbed anime movies/OVAs every now and then, as part of their kid shows. There was Jetter Mars, Grand Prix no Taka and a lot of the sorts. But I remember distinctly a movie about a little boy that had a dog with small puppies that had an accident on a storm or something (hazy memory, my bad) and somehow they get turn into robot dogs. They flied, did a lot of things and formed a ship with his mother, IIRC. I've tried to find out more about it, but to no avail. Anyone has an idea what's its name? Thanks.

I'm kinda afraid of that soundtrack, knowing it's Kazuhiko Toyama. Seems like the only GOOD soundtrack he composed was for Shin Cutey Honey. Everything else, is not just bad... it's THAT bad and booooooooooooring as F**K.

flac doesn't alter the mastering or anything. flac is just a lossless compression algorithm, which means no audio data is lost when compression occurs, unlike with Mp3 which is a "lossy" (god I hate that word) compression algorithm, which means audio data is lost when it is used. of course, if you use a recent encoder and good settings (latest lame encoder and the best settings being VBR-V0), the quality loss is rather impossible to hear, unless you have pretty expensive equipment or a very, very keen ear.

As for why it is used for old LPs and EPs, I guess it's also a way for people to have an archived copy, in case something happens to the disc. that or they have audiophile equipment, or they just prefer it that way. whatever floats their boat. I share exclusively in lossless now if I have the disc (and a way to rip it to lossless) because it allows both audiophile and others (understand: people with standard equipment) to enjoy the music, as they can re-encode lossless to their preferred settings.

others don't share lossless either by choice, as the format tends to make people go crazy and they start behaving like zombies screaming "NEED LOSSLESS" and taking any refusal as an insult or worse, a declaration of war, or because their connection is crap, or because they don't have the CD but only mp3s. or because they just don't hear the difference between a good mp3 encoding and lossless. trust me, without equipment, a very keen ear and an intricate knowledge of whatever you're listening, it's hard to make a difference between flac and VBR-V0. I can but only on songs I know VERY well, like songs by Dio or Iron Maiden, or some OSTs like Nadia or Waga seishun no arcadia, songs that I've listened to at least a thousand times each.

I understand keeping an archived copy, but I just don't really like people who demand lossy all the time to the point of acting like complete mongrels. All I'm saying is that we should just appreciate the rare gems that are uploaded here everyday and its unnecessary to argue about the qualities, to the point where a derogatory comments are made like to one of my buddies on here who uploads on this forum a lot. docrate1, I see you mentioned Nadia of the Blue Water, can you upload the stuff from it? It may just calm me down right now lol

Some people do go incredibly over the exaggeration as to why you don't share in another format if you have the cd yourself. Or why do you even shared it if it's not lossless, making it as an obligation.
want flac? buy the cd? don't complain about "how" and "why" other people's choice of sharing. just "thank" and "you" that someone shared it. It's not difficult.

The album is nice if you can get it, I like to expand my music choices. If not the single. If not, the song, since I don't have it in my library and was making a large compilation of anime songs now that my FiiO X3 arrived.

Probably some people feel like not releasing lossless is a sort of hoarding and they get angry over it.
Idk about that, but making a fresh rip to lossy is a loss of time. It does not take more time to rip to lossless, and then it gives you and everyone else the option to encode that to whichever lossy format whenever you want. With only lossy files available, encoding to another lossy format further decreases quality (you should avoid that).
There is also the worst case scenario : people distributing lossy=>lossy trancodes, and years later, all that is left are very bad copies with easily hearable loss. Of course the same can happen with lossless (people encoding lossy to lossless), but it is a tiny bit easier to tell lossless from lossy than to tell bad lossy from legit lossy (and who would encode lossy to lossless, seriously ? that is beyond retarded).
I have seen a few lossy=>lossy transcodes uploaded here on some occasions.

It's sometimes still frequent in Film, TV Score part of the forum. But fortunately, a bunch of good guys really do nice job about uploads and remasters in lossless. ;)
