Hey, I'm just curious, but does anyone know if there was ever a soundtrack for The Curse of Kazuo Umezu? I'm guessing such a thing doesn't actually exist, since there wasn't a lot of music in the OVA. I kinda like the creepy music in the credits though. XD

We don't do halloween here in France, but since my last year in Highschool where a buddy of mine had a big (and I mean big) collection of horror movies, I've grown the habit of watching classic horror movies on October 31st. This year I'm planning a hammer marathon :).

Talking about messed up anime... I did liked genocyber very much. It is sick, yes, but I can say the whole idea of ART is in the first episode. I saw the first episode many times. Soundtrack is more then great, I really love and I am a fan of Takehito Nakazawa soundtracks. I only appeared to make soundtracks for the Tony Takezaki Animations back in the 90ts (Genocyber, Genesis Survivor Gaiarth, Bubblegum Crash, Gall Force New Era, Scramble Wars)

I don't mean to sound like a wussy little fart, here, really I don't... but some of us are not fans of the more violent episodes in the history of anime... and find themselves rather nauseated by whatever that animated GIF may or may not be representing... :/

Matter of fact, I don't really enjoy gore in anime. I haven't seen many, but I didn't enjoy any...

Hentai, on another hand (And as long as no gore/tentacles are involved)... :naughty:

I have a couple of questions:
1. About 学校の怪談 (Gakko no Kaidan), is there an ablum which includes the OP and ED? Here says it has one: keiichianimeforever.com (http://www.keiichianimeforever.com/music/Gakkou-no-Kaidan/), but I couldn't find it on Amazon or anywhere.

2. About the OVA Freedom, is there ever an OST of it?

The ones on that site are the OP/ED themes to the TV Series which ran a total of 19 episodes. The soundtrack to the series only contains the OP theme 'Grow Up' by Hysteric Blue and the ED theme was taken from the Maxi single from the group CASCADE UPCH-5016, which was released in 2000.11.16. There were also some OVAs produced, unfortunately there isn't a soundtrack for those OVAs, but the OP/ED themes can be found on two seperate albums. The OP 'Sugu Soba Nianother world' by Lisa Takahashi can be found on the album 'Yesterdays' AMG-6003 released 2007.8.1, and the ED 'GooD Luck!!' by Merry clover can be found on the mini-album 'Floweric' SDCR-0020 released 2008.9.26. Also there seems to be another work, a mini film or something of that sort, but it's under the name "Gakkou No Kaidan 3" and that theme song is performed by Dual Dream and the song is called 'Splash' available on the CD-S KIDS-344 released in 1997.7.22. Hope this helps you try to track down your songs!!

Well actually, the Black Jack OVA soundtracks are so obscure that you can't even find anything about it on regular Google. You've gotta search the catalog number on Google.jp (Japanese Google)
FMCC-5016 is disc one of Vol. 1 while FMCC-5017 is disc two of Vol. 1

You certainly posted that in an invited chinese forum. It's the reason why "many people" downloaded that from your "other place"

There on FFShrine, you not uploaded in an other filesharing service because you don't want to see your album spreading on internet, for sure.

Hummm...The filesharing service used has nothing to do with a thing spreading on the net. all you have to do for it to spread is :

A: post the link on a forum with 450.000 members.
B: DL then re-up the file on another host.
C: DL, convert to MP3, and re-up. (easier upload and most people download mp3). In other words, even if he was using the most obscure/unknown/unsafe file host on the web, it wouldn't keep his file from being shared.

First, I think you need to relax. You'll get more accomplished that way.
Second, the key to collecting this stuff is patience. You'll get more accomplished that way.

The aim was to create a thread for lovers of older anime soundtracks to share rare material and, above all, a common passion. 27 months, one (sadly) dead blog and one (even more sadly) dead forum later, this thread is still here. maybe not going as strong as it did in the past, but yet...It's still very much alive. In despite of a few trolling attempts, one or two big (or not) argument, and some strong words sent here and there. but at 135 pages, and close to 3360 posts, the thing had turned into a maze, and lets be honest, Vbulletin search engine is not the most efficient beast in the universe. Soooo I remember a little something...

So first, a few things:

- No direct link in this thread. this is not some leeching tool. The file doesn't contain any megaupload, rapidshare or sendspace address, but rather the addresses of the exact post where you can find the link to the precious file.
- The index only points to valid urls. in other words, as of today, any OST listed in this index has a workig link somewhere in this thread.
- Each upload is credited to his uploader to the best of my abilities. if you don't see it, the link is dead or malfunctionning in some way.
- Password are sometime indicated, unless it's the catalog number, in which case you'll see "File is passworded, Password is the album reference".
- I've added a few links to other megathread in the anime music section of FFshrine.

What a remarkable achievement docrate1, you deserve a medal for this great archive. You must go to your doctoral thesis after showing this great passion ! Really I am not kidding but this shows a great tolerance to hard work and documenting. By the way, there is a positive correlation to your user name and the word doctoral. Actually I finished my studies recently. I had no intention to go all the way to the doctoral thesis, as I'm not getting younger (I'm 29, I hold two bachelor's degree, one in history, the other one in foreign languages applied to economy and tourism, and maybe (don't have the results yet) a master's degree in cultural management and heritage valorisation.).

All that, just in order to work as a librarian. as for the Index, the idea isn't new, but as I recently went through the whole thread, I noticed a lot of still working links, so I decided to make a list. Matter of fact it took me more or less 4 days to do it, but i'm a slow worker, I was also working on something else (not FFshrine related), and the most tedious part was to actually test each and every link.

As for the future, I'm not into academics anymore, so if I could find relatively soon a job that involves books, that would be cool.:D

As for the nick, it is actually a nod to my favorite anime character ever, Docrate, a big baddass from Saint Seiya. The guy looked mean, was mean, and I was in awe, even if he appeared in only a few eps before getting his ass handed to him by Cygnus Hyoga and Pegasus Seiya. :p

Good four days only is another cool result. Do you use Macro programing and VBA for excel techniques ? It is such an amazing add-on to the already existing excel from Microsoft that is available for free. It will make these things a lot easier.

nope. I like to do things the old fashioned way. I typed every title, copy-pasted the post links and added a few comments where needed. I don't use excel that much, but I have a habit of making huge lists. Right now I'm recreating from scratch my book list. So I have to catalog around 1500+ books, as I lost my original listing to a computer's death. :p

In fact, I guess I love to list stuff. I had lists for my OST collection, my score collection, my book collection and my RPG collection. And now I must re-do all of these. But I'll do these on access, enables me to create searches based on various characteristics. :)

Docrate, you are insane. That was such work you put in it. thanks a lot for all of this work.

It makes 2 of us, the habit on making HUGE lists of everything. XD
I even make lists for the clothes of winter and summer I have. XDXD I am that insane as you, so insanity is not something strange to us. :D

Well, right now it's on hold, happens that the turntable of my friend converts directly to 128kbps mp...on a USB stick. And there are no ways to connect it to a PC. I'll post it around X-mas, when I've had time to make decent copies with the TT I plan to buy. Anyway, I'll let you know when these are available.

That is exactly my problem. My turntable only encodes do mp3 in 128kbps...Also... in USB stick too. I have not worked if it connects to teh pc, but as I know I will have to buy some cables to connected it to the pc. But I do not have much time and money for it at the moment.
I would love to rip my L-gaim Arranged albums of K-project (Key Wakakusa). :/

Along time ago, on the old anime ost forum, before it closed down, I remember the
'Pharaoh no Haka synthesizer LP' was going to be uploaded but it never did.

Hey guys, can anyone here read Japanese? I'd like to know what the song titles are on my Samy: Missing 99 LP. That way I don't have to name the songs just by numerical order when I upload them after it arrives in the mail. :p I looked online for a list of what the titles might be, but the only site that even mentioned the record was Anison and they only had two song titles up. I'm guessing the record is pretty rare; that might be why I can't find any other mention of it anywhere. :/

Anyways, any help translating the song titles would be appreciated. :)

Hello again guys!

Was wondering if you have archive/list/bot or something similar for releases that's been done way back? It's quite tiresome to go through every now 137 sites for good anime soundtracks :) Is there another way around this?

And by the way, thanks again for all the positive feedback I've been given for my rips. Can probably not make more this week because I'm about to scan anime vinyl covers. Does anyone here have the skill of translating from Japanese to English? If so write back to me here or PM, we are trying to do some sort of "fansub" for the track titles and the lyrics to some old anime soundtracks gems :)

I don't even know if there was a ost released. That is maybe my reason for not liking Normasa Yamanaka. He does great soundtracks, and almost no soundtrack is released.

I can't upload it or scan everything until next Monday or so, but here's a large pic of the obi with a list of the songs (hoping Orie will translate it please? :3) and a photo of the cover (I'll replace it with a scan as soon as possible).

Well, my question is. in your opinion, is it doable without taking classes?

I know a few kanji as well as a little japanese, but i'm nowhere near being able to read it enough to play say, a jrpg or watch an anime episode without subtitles at least.

I learn faster as well from hearing it, but then again i can learn kanji fairly quickly too, provided i actually stick with learning it, guess i listen to too much music XD.

Perhaps people would be more willing to trade with you if you shared a little something once in a while instead of just talking about how much you have. Most people consider talking incessantly about your stuff but refusing to share it, bragging. It tends to get on people's nerves. Also, it would be nice if you brushed up on your manners. It's not always what you say, but how you say it that makes a good impression.

I am really sad that Hiromoto Tobisawa never released the soundtrack. When I want to hear some songs I have to pick up my VHS or DVD to hear it. I wish there was complete torrent with japanese audio only. The ones I get are with polish dubbing. :(

As for Zorro...I think I have a rip of the opening song (TV size) lying somewhere...The series was to be issued in DVD in france, but sadly only a 2.0 soundtrack, so no way to make a DVD rip out of it. same problem as with Jungle Book Shonen Mowgli.
