Anybody know where I can get this? I saw it a few months in an auction but I didn't think about getting it because I thought it had already been released on CD...

This is on my list of Gundam albums to find. It's probably one of the rarest Gundam albums I've ever heard of. I can't even find full track listings for it.
However, the Yamato tracks were also on a Yamato collection, Eternal Editions, I think, as bonus tracks.

valrhodes has opened a webpage where those who want to see the Ulysses 31 Japanese OST get uploaded here can donate money to him so he can use that money to buy a copy of the album. As of right now, the only copy that's up right now is on Yahoo Auctions JP for $85~ dollars; it might sound expensive, but that's as cheap as it can go, since people usually bid more than $250 for it. The auction was supposed to end today but it is still going for 6 more days since nobody put any bids on it.
Seeing as how nobody (surprisingly enough) put any bids on it, now is the chance to donate so that this OST can finally see the light of day. This is optional, of course...you don't have to donate if you don't want to, but if you do feel like donating, here's the link:

4.- You'll be taken to a Paypal form where you can input your account. If you don't have an account, you can either create one or just use any debit/credit card to make a donation and voila. At least that's how it used to be.

If so, I suggest choosing a Sniper Bid so that the bid gets placed 5 minutes before it ends. If you place one right now (assuming you have enough money for it already), there's a huge chance it's going to attract others and others might start placing higher bids on it.

The first Z Gundam opening theme is indeed called Z -Toki wo Koete-, but that's the only similarity. They're different songs by different singers.

2 days left for the auctions. I calculate all spent for this CD, check all d�tails, check the website for the shippement. Is good and technically (I THINKS) But is never safe (I scared for the shippement price X.x (Especialy if it's UPS, is just HIGLY COST X.X).
I check all days the auctions in my job and i pray for don't see a UNCOMMING Bid on this... I hope to have this gems, is the final laps for have this... I keep the website online for the last volunteers or those who want to be on that will have no problem. (You know the link, check the previous links if you want...) Is a pleasure to talk with fans in email and volunteers who want mark the history of Ulysse 31.

Unfortunately not. If we wanted to get to that amount in two days we would need more people who'd be interested/willing to donate.
I don't think the bidders would be willing to put more than 50,000 yen (highest bid so far on any Ulysses 31 BGM auction was 45,500 yen) , so as long as we have that amount we could potentially win the CD.

Well it's finally happened. I guess we can safely say that we have finally acquired the holy grail of anime soundtracks. I'm so happy and proud of everyone who helped out. However that doesn't mean that our journey is over as there are still many more soundtracks that still need to be found and shared.
In fact I have a few albums coming in that I will post as soon as I get them. Hint: some of them are Roman Trips.

Valrhodes told me that he himself has provided some money in some cases. As for me, I would've donated if I had any money but I literally just spent all of it recently on some rare anime records that I plan on sharing here once they arrive.
Even if valrhodes didn't donate any money himself, shouldn't we be at least glad that we gathered enough money to get this OST? He's even kind enough to share it in more than one format for all of us and he's providing scans as well...if it weren't for the website he made the OST probably would've been won by someone else and we would STILL be looking for it.

Wasn't the unreleased BGM from Macross also released on CD as well?

Not sure if you knew about it, but Buyee has been known to be pretty terrible due to the fact that they charge you an insane amount of money for things that normally shouldn't cost that much...
FromJapan (the proxy service I use for Yahoo Auctions JP shopping) wouldn't have charged you lots of money for EMS shipping. I sent them an email about it not too long ago, and they told me that the only time that the EMS shipping method would be cheap is if the packaged item didn't weigh a lot. Since this is a CD that needs to be packaged, I HIGHLY doubt it would weigh too much.

En France, c'est une vraie gal�re pour importer des trucs pas trop cher surtout venant d'Asie. Avec sa douane de putes et toutes les taxes auxquelles les fran�ais sont soumis, c'est un v�ritable pays de merde sur ce point.
Une des astuces quand on ach�te de France au Japon est si possible de ne JAMAIS prendre le transport en EMS. En effet, avec l'EMS, arriv� � Roissy, c'est syst�matiquement Chronopost qui s'en charge (c'est eux qui ont eu le contrat exclusif de prise en charge pour ce mode de transport de la part de la Japan Post). Et Chronopost d�clare syst�matiquement le colis � la douane fran�aise, c'est � dire qu'il faut la payer � chaque fois que l'on utilise l'EMS. C'est pour cela qu'il faut toujours regarder si d'autres modes de transport avec suivi (tracking) sont disponibles chez le revendeur ou r�seau de paiement japonais utilis�. En g�n�ral, c'est le Airmail Registered qui offre la meilleure prestation avec un suivi, un peu moins cher et � peine moins rapide que l'EMS (entre une semaine et 10 jours en moyenne) mais surtout qu'il ne d�clare pas syst�matiquement � la douane car il est consid�r� comme un courrier normal jusqu'� un certain poids (aucun probl�me pour un CD dans le cas qui nous pr�occupe) et donc soumis � une tr�s petite chance d'�tre tir� au sort de contr�le � la douane.

.......... *No word* That is the Uchuu Densetsu Ulysse 31 CD !!! Is finaly here !!! HOLY SH** !!! I have no word for say anything about that is so incredible, this damn CD is finaly here and is ripped and scanned for Christmas for everyone !! It's wonderfull. Very wonderfull ....
But I must confess... I pay 70EUR for Customs duty .... I don't immagine is so high for just this little CD (Yes damn French fees). I saw my bank account in the negative and being a student, I'll probably be difficult for Christmas this year... But it was in doubt if I was going to hurt when received.
If you want any information or something about that, please tell me in my email or private message. Thanks you all for you're helped, thanks you very much... I posted soon this danm CD the 24th or 25th December with HQ Scan, FLAC/M4A/MP3/OGG version and i see for other if i can send the other versions.

If you could make your HQ scans at 600dpi resolution without any crappy Photoshop destructive filters (like those damn 'Despeckle' or 'Dust & Scratches'), to would be great. Because I could make a proper final pictures without dithering (printing screens) and color correction (I'm professional prepress technician for more than 15 years, scanning and enhancing pictures are my daily job and I'm working on professional hardware with a calibrated monitor, etc.).

Je ferrais en sorte que les scans soit correct, g�n�ralement, je fait aucune retouche sur mes scans, ils sont tel qu'elle et sans filtre sp�cifique, par contre, je ne sais pas si ce sera en 600dpi, j'essaye absolument que cela soit comme cela mais je garantie rien du tout. Mais pour te rassurer, sache qu'il aura l'int�gralit� des scans et du mini booklet qui � avec ^^

So we got the Ulysses 31 OST by having people donate and using it on the auction to finally get it once and for all. I'm not sure if the idea of donating together to get an OST has been done already on this forum before, but in case this is the first time it's been done, everything seems to have gone along well.
I'm not going to consider doing it right now since I'm super broke on money, but I'm actually considering doing the same thing as well...I'd like to start a website where people can pitch in money to get an LP OST that they can't afford themselves (or maybe they don't have the proper equipment to rip it) and in the end, I'll be the one paying for it and I can also do the ripping (in FLAC) as well.
What do you guys think?

En tout cas, si tu fais tes scans � 600 dpi, je pourrais te les travailler et restaurer en enlevant les trames d'impression "sans perte" avec une m�thode que j'ai mise au point (un de mes "secrets de fabrication") car comme je te l'ai �crit pr�c�demment, c'est mon m�tier. Je voulais te proposer mon exp�rience avec un travail de qualit� pour ton acquisition d'exception un peu comme ma contribution � ton projet (si tu avais �t� sur Paris, j'aurais m�me pu te les scanner en prime).
En tout cas, si tu es v�ritablement int�ress�, fais-le moi savoir ici ou en message priv�.

It seems to be a very good idea. A lot of 'not specifically rich' people could participate by donating a little money for some expensive LP or CD acquisitions.

I already start this idea with my project XD In 2013, i placed for the first time the donation bouton in my blog for each people who want see a extremly rare EP Single (Today you see what i have in EP Single and all thing about that (Special dedicated to Mr Muscian if you see that message, i don't miss you and you're EP is done :p !). I'm just student but you see my full determination with that idea and work. It's the goal of my project and i want to see all these things in here and over the world...

Yeah I saw that one too but the copy on Amazon includes the obi. I watched the OVA and the music is awesome so I think I might start a donation thing so we can get it.
Also no I didn't get the Horror Music Show album yet. Bad things happened a few weeks ago so I have to wait. Hopefully it won't get sold until then.

Currently listening to the Ulysses 31 OST...as expected from Kei Wakakusa, it sounds fantastic :D
Though, to be honest, I'm also kinda disappointed at the same time...the pilot episode of Ulysses 31 had some really good songs that I was hoping would make it onto the CD, but it's a shame to see that they will remain unreleased for a very long time...
Either way, it's still a great soundtrack. I too also have a present to share with you all tomorrow. :)

I'm back for make oder for people, i start the CD Single of Slam Dunk this morning, i posted soon a new arrival of EP/CD Single here. I have few EP i maked before Ulysse 31... (Mr Muscian i don't forgive you !!) I take time for remplace lot of things in website project. I again a lot of work on my site for that, i will this year expand the structure to be able to offer a ton of EP JPOP I own ... (Since the J-POP and animation are closely related, I will launch this structure for this year and fill it occasionally when I have some free time and I want to make JPOP and not animation ...)
In addition, I closed the Pitchin page of Ulysses and remade one for my site (Basically I made an account on it for my site but Ulysses is served at life-size test ...). Its next day I would consider again a page dedicated to the community that I would make available to all as seen previously together ...

My method for make RIP in FLAC in CD is very easy .... Put CD on my computer, go to foobar 2000, choose my FLAC option (i have program with Level 8 for most compact files + sound in lossless) and rip .... For tagging all my EP Single i use my know (With help of auctions website, VGMDB if the tracklist is avaible or i search so many hours just for know one things for my rip CD)
If it's a LP/EP Records, i record each face in Wave, i using software like "audacity" and work on each tracks on it... I tag, manage and listen each tracks for make a good sounds. After i rip each tracks with the same option for FLAC.
It's over ! Quick and easy :')
Also ... I'm back in oder for my website, if you want anything in the next wave of EP/CD Single please tell me ! I maked lot of EP for the next arrival with lot of JPOP singer for my new section of my website ^^ So if you want special thing say me ^^

This was supposed to be uploaded yesterday as a "Christmas" gift to you all but due to time constraints and me procrastinating like an idiot, I unfortunately couldn't get it done

Sadly, some songs still kinda sound like crap even though they're in FLAC...I made the mistake of buying this album for $1 despite the album cover looking destroyed and dirty :(
(Word of advice: if an album looks like it's falling apart and it's being sold for $1, DO NOT GET IT!).
After recording Side A and Side B once, I sent it to Tangotreats to see if he could try and improve it; thanks to him, he was able to remove the noticeable crackles/pops that I couldn't remove myself, but he suggested that I try cleaning it to fully improve the quality.
...Which I tried doing. I decided to put wood glue on it...but I ended up putting the wrong one on it and I might have made it slightly worse than before. :l
Using some tools, a friend of mine and I were able to get the wood glue off the record and despite the fact that some dirt was still on the record...it did help. Somewhat. Track 4 sounded cleaner than before and I decided to record it again since the previous version (the one I had sent to Tangotreats for editing) sounded really..."spongy" near the end, to say the least.
I plan to use the correct wood glue to try cleaning it one last time and see if I can make the record sound cleaner for once. This copy is as good as it can get, but if you wish to seek a better version of this album...I suggest going up to maximuxi, as he himself happens to own a copy of the album (though I'm not sure if he has a turntable yet and the proper equipment to record vinyl records with).

I finally listened to Ulysses 31 and it sounds absolutely amazing. Kei Wakakusa did an excellent job doing the soundtrack. "Ominous Star" really stands out for me. Thanks to everyone for the collaborative effort of finally getting this soundtrack.
P.S. The scans look like they've been filtered to be smoothed out which is fine but I personally prefer unfiltered scans. It brings out a little more detail in my opinion. I'm not complaining though
I wonder though... why TIFF file. Yes, I am complaining, because, not everyone has super great system to see TIFF Files in their computers. I used a software of my own to turn them to png. Now I can see those scans.

Cleopatra... The same of these strange movie with a special ambiance (Some much boobs....), the same of Animerama of Osamu Tezuka ? I have the FACE (OH !), i have the A-FACE (OHHHHHHHH !!!) but not the B-Face (ALL HOPE IS BROKE XD).
That shame for B-Face, but for the little history i've found it, few years ago (At a time in Megaupload was still present !) Not knowing what it was really I stored on my HDD and stock it for a possible 70's opening BOX. The tracks is not really the same with the opening, is a song with lot of "La la la la" and incomprehensible Japanese lyrics....
But this music have feelings, have something compared to other titles ... Maybe is because it's just a very special film or have seen a lot of boobs or because the film a special atmosphere but good god this music is execellente !!

Do you mean the Premium Best, or the same album ORIGINAL SONG reprinted two times with different price due new Japan taxation (3008yen in 1989 & 3066yen in 1997)?
EDIT.. I have both reprint with different price and they sound with loudness both. I think also other Canyon album have also loudness applicated, damd. I don't want to unseal my original first press copy :(

You're welcome is a pleasure to serve and shared these rarest stuff ! And is true, the second LP do to have a better quality... The first rip was made are more than 2 years and only with capacity of this year. Personally I find it's really not bad ! It's very good and i like it but it's true that I would not be against to have a better quality if it's possible !

All Co-Production - Collaboration or something in Soundtrack LP is rare... Find me a decent price for a Candy Candy, Captain Future and i don't talk about any Grendizer X.x
For Taiyo no ko Esteban it's the same. Is so cost huge and for have something reasonable stack must reach the day, the hour, the minute, the second on the right deal. For exemple the French LP... Is happening to you at the right time and you recovered the precious or either it's a guy who well understood the need to build on the franchise to earn more. But after this is valid in all collectibles of course. And for us, that one passionate is what is very infuriating to see this...

With the exception of Seiji Yokoyama's Kaze Ki no Uta Album, I haven't seen the other albums publicly uploaded yet. If they have already been uploaded, please correct me and I'll look for other, cheap albums to get instead.
I was originally going to get the Galaxy Patrol PJ album I mentioned a while ago in this thread (the Japanese OST to the French/Japanese anime "Once Upon a Time...Space"), but there's only one day left and the starting bid price is actually quite high. I can get more albums with $120 and the albums aren't going to be bet on by anyone else, so I think everything should be fine for now.
Would it be okay if I could occasionally post the website link here on this thread to remind people about this website so that they don't forget? I had to do the same thing with valrhodes' PitchinBox page for the Ulysses 31 OST so that people wouldn't forget about it

The Gilbert no Requiem album is currently available on Discogs. The Digital Trip album seems to be based off that album, as they both have the same tracks and are also made by Osamu Shoji. It's kinda expensive, though

The Digital Trip version is especially expensive. Speaking of Shoji I recently won another one of his arrangement albums. The Latest Movie Theme Collection. It's in the same series as his The Greatest T.V. Theme Collection and Horror Music Show albums. I would've gotten Horror Music Show but I've never seen the Movie Theme CD ever on auction and I've been searching his albums for 3 years consistently on Yahoo so to me it's the rarest out of those 3 albums. So I went for that one.

Sadly, some songs still kinda sound like crap even though they're in FLAC...I made the mistake of buying this album for $1 despite the album cover looking destroyed and dirty :(

After recording Side A and Side B once, I sent it to Tangotreats to see if he could try and improve it; thanks to him, he was able to remove the noticeable crackles/pops that I couldn't remove myself, but he suggested that I try cleaning it to fully improve the quality.
...Which I tried doing. I decided to put wood glue on it...but I ended up putting the wrong one on it and I might have made it slightly worse than before. :l
Using some tools, a friend of mine and I were able to get the wood glue off the record and despite the fact that some dirt was still on the record...it did help. Somewhat. Track 4 sounded cleaner than before and I decided to record it again since the previous version (the one I had sent to Tangotreats for editing) sounded really..."spongy" near the end, to say the least.
I plan to use the correct wood glue to try cleaning it one last time and see if I can make the record sound cleaner for once. This copy is as good as it can get, but if you wish to seek a better version of this album...I suggest going up to maximuxi, as he himself happens to own a copy of the album (though I'm not sure if he has a turntable yet and the proper equipment to record vinyl records with).

I edited the original tracks again and removed the 60 Hz hum and reduced the hiss/buzz using Izotope RX. Enjoy :)

Apparently (to my knowledge) this is the second Roman Trip album to be released publicly to the internet, the first album being some Image Album uploaded on YouTube. Based off a Japanese novel by the same name, this album was a vinyl-only release.
The album isn't that bad, I guess. But I'd really like to know why they never released it on CD...

My guess is, Kaze to Ki no Uta is one of the first and most influental shounen-ai/yaoi-series, and many so called Image Albums have been produced.

These series tend to be less mainstream and have only cult followings. Studios still want to make money off of tie-ins, so they produce image albums for the manga at different times, and they don't always end up with the same composer. This is just guessing on my part. I like these series a lot, and I hope more of their albums are shared here.

You can use foobar2000 to rip CDs. It works greatly
use dbpoweramp to rip my cds. Personal choice and favorite

I'm looking for the 3 CD Soundtracks of Legendary Swordsman Yaiba (1993) by Kohei Tanaka. I appreciate Tanaka's work as a composer throughout his 30 years of writing music for anime, games, and films. His work in Yaiba is one of my favorites. It would also be fantastic if I can find most of his older works prior to Sakura Wars and 08th MS Team (both which came out in 1996).

Hi Vlad, I mean no offense but you must be using Windows Media Player which defaults to protected Rip when choosing WMA instead of MP3.
There's a little box in Options--->Rip Settings that you can un-tick, also Asian Titles/Tags cause problems for many media players. That's why I always strip those and replace with english; a pain but necessary for many. I recommend just ripping to WAV and using a free converter like LameXP to convert. That program has the ability to convert to MP3 (Lame), Ogg/Vorbis, Opus, AAC/MP4, FLAC, APE, A/52, DCA or PCM/Wave. To convert to ITunes version of AAC, you'll need Apple QuickTime and ITunes installed or you can use the old 2009 Nero AAC Encoder/Decoder for their version of AAC. I also use the program Mp3tag for Metadata Stripping/Adding.

The ones from NicoNico aren't in the best quality...these were the only tracks I could find. The other tracks from the album haven't been uploaded yet

Ahah yes is so huge, i have so much unamed folder on my archive, in these folder i have scan i find and receive from lot of people then have some scans in various quality. I don't have any idea how find these scans (In strange or hidden website maybe...) but i organize all things i have and i make a folder with Reference. If i have tracks, i can make the single directly and if i don't have tracks, i just whrite the reference and i wait for have tracks in decent quality.
In fact, i have so much folder with no tracks, just only the reference but if i have time (LOL) i can try to find all information about it and finish him. Once is finish the single, i placed it on my database, i edit all files, i upload the single on Mega, i created a new link in ADF for organise my link and check quickly if the files is down or if is a older single (For make upgrade...) and finialy i post it on FFShrine and my website.
EDIT : I changed my storage for all my scans, i pass to Picassa Web for have a clean view of all my scan and archive (And for have a most easy system for post single in FFShrine than my previous laborious... ) Is nothing but is beutifful to see that wall of EP Single :o

I might go back and re-visit this album again though...I bought proper wood glue this time and I'm going to try and see if I can clean it. If most of the dirt gets removed, I'll record it and edit it again :)
As for the OST to Barefoot Gen...
...Unfortunately, there is no OST.
The only OST released for it is a Drama album...lots of Kentaro Haneda's music still remains unreleased to this day, sadly.
Afaik, Bagi and Barefoot Gen are the only movies he composed music for that haven't been released yet (aside from drama albums).
