I am deeply saddened to inform everyone that Osamu Shoji passed away on April 30th, tho it was officially announced just hours ago. His work with synthesizers has always been inspiring and legendary and I personally got exposed to him from watching the Black Jack OVAs and listening to parts of the show on repeat just to hear the music before I finally got my hands on the OSTs. He was active in music until the very end and he will be missed. RIP

It was a talented man. It is very sad that he left us.
Rest in peace.

A quick question? been scouring the various threads. has anyone ever posted the A-Ko Project CDs in flac and if so may i get a link to the url to get them. also There is a Ranma 1/2 cd I was hoping someone could maybe rerip for me . There is a lossless ranma link but to much crying I just cant seem to get it to extrack from teh cue file it is the electronic game in the ranma lossless post. Medivil cue sits there and foobar has many errors even someone tried to help with making a new cue sheet . thank you in advance for anyone that can assist

Does anybody know if there was ever a soundtrack released for the Mighty Orbots anime? Yuji Ohno was the BGM composer for that show but I can't seem to find anything for it

bumping this again. did some research and found out that there was no soundtrack released but i have a gut feeling that the BGM used in this show was taken from another show/movie that Yuji Ohno composed music for. can anyone confirm this?

Hey everyone I got some good news and bad news. Good news is I will be posting Chimera Kou I and II very soon. Bad news is the extremely rare Chimera Kou III was for sale on discogs for a very good price and I was gonna get it today but someone just beat me to it and I'm sooo unbelievably fucking pissed right now.

I guess the best way to describe the Galatt OSTs is that they're mostly synth-pop/synth-rock, with some minor orchestral elements added in if that's what you wanna call it (mostly just strings & brass in a couple of tracks).

Haven't heard Crystal Dragon so I don't know how it sounds like.

I guess the Crystal Dragon albums are kinda prog like, but also a mix of YMO like electronic experimentation and more standard 80s soundtrack tropes filtered through Masanori Sasaji jazz fusion sensibilities. but i suck at describe music with words. They are great albums if you're into more nonstandard, musically adventurous anime soundtracks.

This album is saddly an "Drama-Hen" without BGM and with no incredible difference with the movie. (Kings Records just took excerpts from the movie and put them on a records...) but it is stupidly rare and excessively expensive for nothing ... I still hope you like it !

Decided to watch the OVA after purchasing this (only got this album because I read that Osamu Totsuka & Takeshi Ike composed
the soundtrack). Honestly I think everyone who's reviewed the anime so far is exaggerating about it; it's clearly not the best
out there but it's far from worse. In fact I think it was an enjoyable watch for what it was worth.

Shames me to say this but the music's kinda forgettable though. I was hoping the music to sound like that of Bismarck's and Dancouga's
but it isn't. There are a few decent tracks in it but overall I feel like it could've been way better.

(And as expected from these two composers, some BGMs are missing from the OVA...track 02 isn't even the same one that was used in
the OVA)

At least I got this for a cheap price. Apparently the CDs are worth a lot but I got mine for $25.

Mega share for you all. All 3 Chimera Kou albums by Osamu Shoji in Nippon Columbia's Roman Trip album series. Based on the novels by Baku Yumemakura and artwork by Yoshitaka Amano.
LP rips by me. Pop and click removal by anonymous.

Now the noise removal went well for the first 2 albums and they sound amazing. The 3rd album though... the record was pretty beat up and even wood glue couldn't get rid of all the crap, so we denoised it the best we could. It still sounds good and fidelity is nice but there is some distortion in places especially in track 07. I'll definitely get another copy when I get the chance. I could have just waited or posted this without the 3rd album but I already teased this release so I think it's best to share with you all for now.

Definitely NOT their best work. It's kind of amusing how most of it sounds like the cheapest synth possible, and then suddenly at the end, they drop in hints of the sort of music they did for Samurai Troopers, just as if to prove a point. Like, yeah, we are so bad ass, we don't even have to prove it. But here's a reminder anyway. I laughed.

It's a true shame the two of them didn't do more collaborations. But at least we got Bismark, Dancouga, Samurai Troopers, Gridman and a few others out of it. If only they had released more of the music they DID make. Bismark alone has a third album's worth of music.

Decided to watch the OVA after purchasing this (only got this album because I read that Osamu Totsuka & Takeshi Ike composed
the soundtrack). Honestly I think everyone who's reviewed the anime so far is exaggerating about it; it's clearly not the best
out there but it's far from worse. In fact I think it was an enjoyable watch for what it was worth.

Shames me to say this but the music's kinda forgettable though. I was hoping the music to sound like that of Bismarck's and Dancouga's
but it isn't. There are a few decent tracks in it but overall I feel like it could've been way better.

(And as expected from these two composers, some BGMs are missing from the OVA...track 02 isn't even the same one that was used in
the OVA)

At least I got this for a cheap price. Apparently the CDs are worth a lot but I got mine for $25.

My apologies! I had to actually rip the audio from a YouTube video, as I could not find the CD at the time. Once I find and purchase the CD, I'll definitely re-rip it in both MP3 and ALAC.
