You could also use websites like FromJapan and Noppin to check and see if there are other CDs/LPs for sale on other websites

I know that but when a sold out old CD/LP is very rare to find, you don't easily find it "like that". And if by miracle you find it in second hand, the price demanded is usually at very high, astronomic price especially in auction sites.

It's important to use lossless format, since all this good music will eventually be gone one day and even 320kbp mp3 aren't good enough for preservational purposes. They even fake the music by adding artifacts to the sound. Now stop using mp3, everyone =)

Seriously guys, I wasn't even aware of an ongoing discussion (more like a war) between flac vs mp3 people when I made my "first post", after a year of lurking. I was just sharing a thought, but thanks for that warm welcome....

Everyone is free to use whatever they want! Some people like tape-hiss, there may be people who like mp3-artifacts as well. And missing storage space is a pretty good point for using mp3 instead of lossless. I'm just saying that, from a preservative point of view, mp3 is an obsolete medium and should not be used vs. "I don't care about flac / I don't like flac / I don't like people who like flac / I don't know it I don't want it..." which is the main frame here. I just think it would be such a waste if, in 30 years maybe, a low-kbps mp3 is the only thing left of a great record. Use lossless for musics sake...

Of course, with a consumer mentality you don't care about those things. You just want to listen and enjoy and it shouldn't be too complicated. Most of the people in here are obviously consumers, not collectors.

For that reason, i wasn't sure if making a lossless vinyl rip was worth my time
Ripping music to lossless is not any longer than ripping to lossy (as lossy is (re)compressed lossless, anyway), only the time required for uploading the data to some file host can be longer due to the rip being bigger.
Unless you are on a very slow Internet connection, are uploading dozens of CD at once, or ripping to an retardedly overkill format (there exist people who advocate for 24/192 vinyl rips...) which results in huge files, this usually is not much of a problem, 'though.

I like it ! The sound is good and the RE-arranged Tracks is Awesome in diff�rents albums. But i prefer Jam Trip because the sound is very good and the arranged is Jazz and Fusion is very amazing ! Thanks a ton, simply cannot get enough of this old synth... seeing such terrible things like this (http://www.tohokingdom.com/cd/baoh_toshiba.html) just plain makes me want to give up on life sometimes.

the soundtrack is not Namba's best, yeah, but it's not bad too.

The reviewer on that site seems to hate synthesizers in soundtracks. I've read multiple reviews and he usually takes off points if synthesizers are found in any of the tracks and if the whole soundtrack is made with synthesizers he usually gives it an automatic 1-star. It's quite a shame.

that is not a review if you are inserting your own opinion and experience.
To make a review you need to be wide open minded to be able to know the hell you are talking about. Not inserting your own opinion. That comes in last always in a review.
That way, not inserting your opinion in the review, will not manipulate the truth in it.

There is no known official OST of the series Oz no Mahotsukai (1986) aka The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. There is one EP and three musicassettes, one of which has eight image songs. Of these, only the EP (CK-776, CFK-584, 1986-10-21) is more or less well known and is the one in the image that you posted (it even was shared here some years ago here in Megaupload). The BGM composers, K.S. Yoshimura and Takao Naoi, aren't particularly known and, since this anime was produced by a small studio (now defunct), I don't think the BGM has been published commercially. You will have more luck ripping the BGM yourself, unfortunately.

The sound effects were also quite evidently left to the Japanese team.

I always sort of scratch my head at the scene where the skeleton "drinks" the flask of "wine". Pretty obvious that there was a miscommunication there, as the animation shows Schmendrik drinking the entire vial in one swig when he should have been merely giving it a taste test, and then the skeleton proceeds to drink down absolutely nothing.

Haggard was going to be played by Christopher Lee (same as the cartoon), and Molly (the middle-aged woman) was going to be played by Mia Farrow who originally voiced the unicorn / young woman. It was mind-bending. Obviously didn't happen though.

If they had got the person who set up the unicorns for the movie Legend, I might have been willing to go see that. :p Though I'd have accepted a 3D Unicorn too, but not as nice... that gets a little old seeing 3D characters with live-action people. Could have been interesting if they did this... >>; they really should.

Actually the riddle is "when the wine drinks itself". Therefore if there was wine left for the skeleton to drink (not that it was wine to begin with, he claimed to turn water to wine... it was obviously all a facade) it wouldn't have worked. The skeleton, I'm assuming can't actually see... though that'd be weird as he points out the clock... and can grab the bottle just fine... But I never thought too much about it, despite that I've seen the movie tons of times.

It was a popular style for a while... but it ended up being a lot of work, and therefore money... so it never really outlived the late 70's to late 80's.

It was a popular style for a while... but it ended up being a lot of work, and therefore money... so it never really outlived the late 70's to late 80's.The Hobbit (and The Return of the King) were animated by the same Japanese studio as was The Last Unicorn. (Again, Ghibli before they called themselves that.) I haven't seen Flight of Dragons, actually.

As for The Black Cauldron, I've always thought of that movie as being an extreme oddity. It perfectly skirts the transition between Disney's '60s/'70s style (frankly very rough and prone to shortcuts) and the style they developed for the likes of The Little Mermaid and beyond (which took a few movies to really be all that good), but it also has some of the hallmarks of the Don Bluth style, including some rotoscoping cheats. Meanwhile, the manifestly uninspired score by Elmer Bernstein is a perfect accompaniment for that inscrutable movie. I probably enjoy the movie more than most because I find the surreality of its existence fascinating.

That's interesting...is there a reason why it wasn't released on CD?I don't think there is a particular reason. A good number of OVAs, particularly from the 1990s don't have all their music compiled in albums. The most egregious example is Peter Erskine's music for Gunsmith Cats, which has never been commercially published, yet several image albums are available of the series.

In Orguss 02 case, my speculation is that the last two episodes of the OVA, which are the ones that use the theme songs performed by Hiroe Ueda, were not part of the original plan (which is were the publication of albums is normally defined) and they were either an extra to milk the success a little more, they weren't successful enough to warrant another album or the production had run out of funds. It's notable that Hiroe Ueda at the time was mostly retired and her last commercial album was in the late 1980s, contrary to Koichi Makigami, the performer of the first opening and ending songs, who was pretty active during the years when the OVA was released. That is why I believe these theme songs were not planned to be used originally in the OVA. This is only speculation from my part, though.

In CD booklet, Koichi Makigami says that there was an 'inadequacy of contract'
and they had trouble in publishing rights.
Tracks for episode 5 (and OP2 song) were composed by Torsten Rasch.

This remaster CD (2012, Fushigi wo Mitsumete) was released as Hikashu's album
not as anime OST.

I don't think there is a particular reason. A good number of OVAs, particularly from the 1990s don't have all their music compiled in albums. The most egregious example is Peter Erskine's music for Gunsmith Cats, which has never been commercially published, yet several image albums are available of the series.

In Orguss 02 case, my speculation is that the last two episodes of the OVA, which are the ones that use the theme songs performed by Hiroe Ueda, were not part of the original plan (which is were the publication of albums is normally defined) and they were either an extra to milk the success a little more, they weren't successful enough to warrant another album or the production had run out of funds. It's notable that Hiroe Ueda at the time was mostly retired and her last commercial album was in the late 1980s, contrary to Koichi Makigami, the performer of the first opening and ending songs, who was pretty active during the years when the OVA was released. That is why I believe these theme songs were not planned to be used originally in the OVA. This is only speculation from my part, though.

I shared on bakabt my ost with txt file with the infos an personal information and the translation of the drama cd. who�'s kaori uzumaki? the bitch sharing it? where are the scans and all the important stuff?. it was there for a reason you know, bitch?
At least the taging in the files stayed the same.

Side 2 of Digital Trip Xabungle has too much static throughout the recording, so I deleted the link for now; I'll put in a new link later after I've finished re-recording

^Link above is the improved version of "Digital Trip Xabungle" that I re-recorded not too long ago separated into 320kbps MP3 files (converted from my FLAC rip to MP3)

The Side 2 FLAC version has a few weird (but not too noisy or anything) bump noises at the beginning of the 3rd track; in this version, however, that song has been re-recorded so that it doesn't have the bumps anymore at the beginning

now now. no need for big words. It has sometimes happened to me to DL something and accidentaly erase the scans folder or the jpg files if they weren't in a separate folder.

right down to it you see "Resize Images". on the right of it you chose the size of the image.

now, somtimes this happens a lot to me:
the last link you see on the "board" saying "(Direct link for layouts)", the link down, make sure its not there 100x100. if it is, then look for teh link which is right down of this saying:
"(View URL) To send this image to friends and family, copy and paste this code:"
You copy the link and paste in URL. you will see the original size of the picture, and then you can use the link down of "(Direct link for layouts)", because it has size presented to you in that url.
