The 1987 Maps OST is also a high request from me. For some reason that OST and the Wicked City OST didn't get issued with a CD version along with the LP and tape. Both from 1987 during a time in Japan when CD was overtaking LP at a very fast rate. All the other 1987 Nippon Columbia releases got issued with a CD version along with the LP and tape but those two didn't and I can't figure out why.

Anyways I watched a VHS rip of the 1987 Maps OVA and it was entertaining. The OST will certainly be worth it because the music I heard was really good. I'd also love to collect the LD version of the OVA.

Funny thing is, I can see the idea of Patlabors being a real thing. They are essentially humanoid powered exoskeletons in their most advanced form, so we could possibly see them in real life someday.

in GASARAKI, the mechas were actually develop to prove they back then there was technology to make them. Gasaraki mechanical system was never meant to be scifi, as in "it can't exist". Actually, if you analise it well enough, yes if someone went forward to support the idea, they could exist, .. only for military purposes though. That's the catch.

This is not the PCCG-00138 release. This is the CD SPECIAL that came with the Blu-ray special edition in 2014. It has not second disc, and it misses track from the original 1991 release. Mainly the drama tracks. They only left the mini drama from the original disc 1, and kept out the 2 other drama tracks from disc2, but offer a new last track, no released in the original 91 deluxe release.

So i am saying this was not released in 91.7.21 and its no 2 cd, and its not PCCG-00138
It was released Mar 19, 2014, 1 cd only, catalog PCXP-50215-2. :)

The audio has some pops in it because, well, it came from an LP. I'm not pretending to be a miracle worker. :)

The scans are mostly pieced together from smaller scans so you may see some artifacts from that. Two different scanners died doing the LP liner notes.

The extras folder includes the related track from City Hunter, as discussed. Tatsumi Yano composed that music and Legaciam music so it seems he merely cribbed from his own work.

Ah. so some one else noticed "Want your Love" in this soundtrack :p
Your scans of the lp are good enough for me. My biggest Big Ass problem are the posters. They are large and its even difficult to scan by bits. :/
This why I prefer to go for LP releases rather then the monochrome non-booklet of the cd releases. That kinda pisses me off. As collector I want to be spoiled when I buy something music related, and most futureland/toshiba emi or starchild cds releases from Lp where just plain lazyness.

Oh there is also a B2-size poster that came with the LP. Luckily it is not particularly interesting and does not add anything to the music. The one scanner I had that would be able to do it in about 10 passes died trying to scan the LP. Game over on that.

THIS IS TOTALLY WRONG!!!!
This is not the PCCG-00138 release. This is the CD SPECIAL that came with the Blu-ray special edition in 2014. It has not second disc, and it misses track from the original 1991 release. Mainly the drama tracks. They only left the mini drama from the original disc 1, and kept out the 2 other drama tracks from disc2, but offer a new last track, no released in the original 91 deluxe release.

So i am saying this was not released in 91.7.21 and its no 2 cd, and its not PCCG-00138
It was released Mar 19, 2014, 1 cd only, catalog PCXP-50215-2. :)

For the Laughing Target songs in ypur post, were they new RIPs from the 45 or taken from whole Laughing Target OST that was posted in 2011 on thread page 102 here (Thread 67259).

When I compare the songs, as I often do to see which ones have better bitrates etc, I see the song files posted now are identical to the 2011 version except the ID3s are different, mostly where you have added your URL. But the files are otherwise exactly identical, bit for bit.

I'm not trying to accuse of anything here, but if they are the same songs, then I can just remove the duplicates. :) And I have way too many duplicates lol

Ohhh i see... I not could tell you where is each tracks come from, i not have the whole OST of Laughing Target, i have these tracks a few month ago in my bulk folder (With lot of other songs/scans i don't have time to check...).

In fact, for making this single i make some search of this reference on internet, when i finaly found a clue of the existence of the single and that it contains, i just check in my whole folder if i have the tracks and with luck i having each tracks in my bulk folder. I edit, check if an excellent scans exist on internet (without success you can see...), compact, write the information on my database and upload the archive.

I have no real time to compare each tracks i make, especially if is very rare or common, i pass so much time in each single (Few minutes for common and few hours for very rare (I pass 3h on the CK-598 for information)) for compare the tracks with albums/compilation...

But you're remark is very good and thanks for it, i ignored totaly this information of this tracks !

I'm very happy to shared this album because i have an little anecdote about this ... I talked few time in my wave, i wanted to buy single for my Project and i wanted a lot to shared each single in execellent condition. During my search i found nothing, no special single, no classic anime but i found this album for cheap price. Interesting i send an email to the seller for talking about this. Good general condition, low price because the seller want discard these and after few discussion with him, i decide to talking about my Project and for my ambition to make the best database of each single ever existed. After i talking about all aspect of my Project, the seller laugh hard and say, in reality he visit my website a lot because is the only quick way to find all "Mama to Aboso ! Ping Pong Pang", he is so suprised to see all these single just for one old children show ! After this funny discussion, he decided to offer me the delivery for free in exchange of some "Mama to Aboso ! Ping Pong Pang" information :')

I receive it after two week, record, edit, scaned "homemade" each aspect of this LP and upload all in FLAC/MP3. Here the album for the community of FFShrine ! I hope you enjoy it !

So unfortunately, Vol. 1 (which is the one that valrhodes posted) doesn't contain all the music from the film. Vol. 2, which hasn't been released on CD, is also labeled as an "original soundtrack" but it's a drama album as clearly stated on the front cover:


I was pretty disappointed to see that this was just a drama album containing audio from the film and not another album containing more music...until I saw this on the front obi:

According to /r/translator, this translates to the following:

Complete recordings of film dialogue
Recordings of film background music, sound effects

The second line is what interests me the most. There are 2 LPs in this album...by any chance, would there happen to be any more BGM tracks in this album? Because if so, then I would gladly buy this album just for those tracks...

There's no LP for California Crisis because there was never an OST released, unfortunately...just the vocal songs on an EP. The vocal songs have been released on a CD album, though. It's called Chocolate Lips

Idk if it's still up but there's a copy of the Running Boy LP on Yahoo Auctions JP for 7,000 yen. As for the Katsugeki Shōjo Tanteidan LP OST...it's on Otokichi for 1900 yen, so you better act quick on it

I am planning to release my rips eventually. But only when I finish watching my Toshimichi Suzuki animated universe. (Call me tonight is connected to Bubblegum crisis, yes, just like cyguard, and genocyber, and gall force. Before marvel cinematic universe, there was this one. And watching it in chronological order of the animated events, its "unlocking" the subtle connections. Only Cyguard in your face tells you its a prequel of genocyber and a lot of other story/event connections. Too bad, there was no Dr Kashiwada OVA, only the drama cds, but at least we are able to close the the story circle with that one, thank you for the drama cds. Not gonna reveal the mindblowi'n plot twists) I have been ripping missing tracks and organizing tracks in order of appearance, even if they are repeated from other episodes. making it full complete. And yes, rips have sfx, I like it like that, so don't complain, because its the best you get. And don't bug me with the quality

Somewhat off topic.... many of us have used Otokichi Premium shop to source items from Japan, via their own shop or middleman service. If you did that, you might have has contact with Masahiko Takahashi who is (one of?) the owner of the place.

I for one have known him for years, just as a friend but also as a customer. He's a nice guy. His wife was killed in a car accident last week. If you know Masa, you know how much she meant to him and his kids. They have always been his life. So now he is alone with his kids after this tragedy. He will be OK in time. The store will keep going.

Maybe if you have been a customer of his or a friend, you might send him a note or just well wishes. This would be a sad thing for any of us too.

Sometime during the 1980s, Columbia released karaoke versions of several anime movie theme songs via the
form of EP records; however, because these singles are pretty obscure, the only movies that are known to have
its theme songs have karaoke versions released are Locke the Superman and Toward the Terra. These karaoke EPs
have yet to be released on CD...

The EP single containing the karaoke versions of the theme songs for Locke the Superman was pretty hard to find,
but I was able to find a copy for 3 dollars and bought it alongside the vocal EP version (not knowing that the vocal
versions were already released on CD...). The karaoke version took me a while to edit because of how dirty it was,
but the vocal EP was unfortunately warped...however, FFShrine user "ahqhdahtnf" was kind enough to send me the
CD versions of the vocal versions in FLAC and gave me permission to release it alongside the karaoke versions. I
was originally going to separate both EP singles, but I decided to put them together as if it were a CD single instead :)

Scans of both the vocal and karaoke EPs are included. Special thanks to ahqhdahtnf for helping me fix
an audio gap in one of the karaoke songs ;)

The only tracklist it has is "Part 1" on Side A and "Part 2" on Side B so I'm inclined to believe that it's a drama album based on those track titles...if anybody could find out what kind of OST this is it would be appreciated.

Yeah that's kinda shady that they're only willing to pay that much for it. Not only is it a very rare soundtrack but it's also one of the few instances where a Hiroshi Ogasawara work actually got released.

I know i probably shouldn't be saying this since they're your copies of the Gu Gu Ganmo albums and you're free to do whatever you want with them, but don't you think it's kinda silly that you't won't share the albums unless the tracks in that playlist have been identified?

Personally i could care less since the Gu Gu Ganmo albums aren't that rare (well, they kinda are...but copies do pop up for sale every once in a while or so), but you said the same thing when someone on this thread requested the Norakuro-kun OST a while ago and i honestly think it's kinda unfair

I haven't watched Hi No Tori yet but i know there are 3 OVAs...which OVA is this soundtrack supposed to be based off?

It's based on the first one from 1986 called Houou Hen. It's actually not an OVA but a movie. The later 2 from 1987, Yamato Hen and Uchuu Hen are OVAs

Do not waste your time, it's not worth it.

Besides the opening, "Fancy Girl", and the ending "Maho no Crayon", which are available in several collections, it's best that you don't hold your hopes too high. There is no known official OST of the series Oz no Mahotsukai (1986) aka The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. There is one EP and three musicassettes, one of which has eight image songs. Of these, only the EP (CK-776, CFK-584, 1986-10-21) is more or less well known and is the one in the image that you posted (it even was shared here some years ago here in Megaupload). The BGM composers, K.S. Yoshimura and Takao Naoi, aren't particularly known and, since this anime was produced by a small studio (now defunct), I don't think the BGM has been published commercially. You will have more luck ripping the BGM yourself, unfortunately.

Sadly, I don't have spiral zone anymore. Or I don't know where I have it. It was shared before with no cue file. I did tried to make a cue but gave up on it.
I did re-upped that shared file of Marumaru... but seems not working anymore.
