Zero Escape Dilemma.
It was pretty good, but it did occasionally feel like it had been written by a bunch of people who were scientists (or science enthusiasts) first and writers second. Don't get me wrong, it done pretty well but I prefer a plot that isn't as heavily reliant on the kind of special gimmick powers that the characters have. It felt like it kind of took over the story, shunting the Escape Room aspect and many of the character's development to one side IMO.
Still, it was enjoyable enough. I preferred Danganronpa and Stein's Gate though, which are both games with similar themes.

@Tanis : nope... that was just superfluous nonsense.
@ManRay : SRTT was ok... better than IV for me... but as someone who has played all 4 games...
SR2 > SR1 > SRTT >SRIV
SR 1 was a decent enough game. Had it's faults, but it introduced us to the world of the Saints as well as some of it's key figures (namely Johnny Gat and the 'Boss'). I'm not a fan of recommending online game reviews... but the following two I do agree with:
Saints Row 2 : SAINTS ROW 2 (Zero Punctuation) (
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pWXuzZ26yp0)
Saints Row The Third : Saints Row: The Third Angry Review (
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XHB0CQ3uPj4)
So yeah... I am a Saints Row fan... but just like what happened with the Breath of Fire series (The 5th killed it completely for me), Saints Row IV Re-Elected/Gat out of Hell has pretty much killed the series for me. IF... there is a Saints Row V, I hope they go back to the series roots and not completely ott.

Not really a game but I was idling on the Bioware forums and noticed they plan to shut all of them down very soon. The place was a minefield, but it still feels like a really depressing decision. It feels like its planting an extra nail in the coffin, that feeling that Bioware are just over.

Played that new Batman game from Telltale. Its pretty good in the way their games usually are, has bad QTE sequences that go on too long as they always do, and is episodic forcing me to wait probably not less than 5 months to see how it ends. Which frankly is getting *very* old. Just finish the damn game and *then* release it!
But yeah, I'm in. It was interesting, had lots of variety, and it made me care enough that I wanted to see more. Can't really ask for more in a first episode.

Finished Lethal Skies 2(it was ok, it wasn't any better than the first one), Beatdown: Fists of Vengeance(rather fun beat-em up but frustrating at times), Dynasty Warriors Gundam 3.
DW G 3's a nice entry, but it's not as good as the first one imo(it's better than DW G 2, though. There was no story whatsoever). I didn't like how grindy it got when it came to getting the "For Reform" chapter, and I didn't like how some of the story missions felt like filler. I've only played a few minutes of DW G: Reborn and I can already tell it's better than DW G 3(Plus, space battles are back! :D I thought it was odd that they took them out entirely).
I'm in the mood for some Ace Combat, starting with 4(I haven't touched the REAL AC 3, because the Disc 2 translations aren't finished yet). This is probably like the 4th or 5th time I'm replaying 4 to Assault Horizon. I'll be checking out Skies of Deception as well since I'll be playing them in order of release.

Just finished Alien Isolation. Resisted buying it for ages due to stealth not being my kind of thing. But times are lean and I do love the Alien films, so I gave it a go.
And it was alright, a ruggedly playable and acceptable game even for a stealthphobe like me. Played it on Hard because that's what the menu recommended as the optimum experience and man they aren't kidding - it really *was* hard at times. But when I stopped deluding myself that I'm any good at stealth and started being more aggressive, I got into a nice groove and combatted my way to victory! lol (You can't hurt the alien, but you can scare it off with fire, so I poured all my resources into crafting molotovs and chased the thing over the station, rather than let it do the reverse!)
Its far too long, and the story was a waste of time (not to mention a few promising characters). But overall, it was a fairly rewarding experience. A cautious thumbs up. Now if you'll excuse me, I have molotov cocktails to make...

Finished Gone Home.
It was okay, but I do wonder how much of the appeal would have been lost on me without the Twin Peaks style music, the haunted house and retro feel (Cassette tapes and VHS tapes etc). It had a rather steep price for how short it was, and the writing sometimes strayed dangerously close to melodramatic cliche (and the plot in general is extremely cliched).
But that said, it was engaging enough that I cared to find out what happened. For all the many criticisms I could level against it, I still thought it provided a reasonably upbeat and defiant message about the need to be who you are and do what makes you happy. So overall, I'm glad I played it at last. I just wish they'd been a bit more lenient on the price, because you can complete this game comfortably inside a hour or so (and its actually possible to finish it in under a minute, but that's speedrunning obviously).

Purchased again METAL GEAR SOLID Ⅴ: THE PHANTOM PAIN for PlayStation 4 a few weeks ago and dedicated myself to it (I originally played it on the PS3); managed to earn S Rank(s) in all 50 Missions on the “current gen.” version, strangely, I couldn't do it on the PS3.
The [EXTREME] version of “Metallic Archaea” was an unexpected and real nightmare, this time around: back when I had first earned S Rank on it (PS3), I climbed on the roof of the hangar which is close to Snake’s starting point, the Skulls just attempted to shoot and throw rocks at me back then. I unlock that mission on the PS4, ready to use the same strategy, imagine the look on my face when I see a Skull teleporting up there and standing between me and my trusty guardian angel, Quiet (needless to say, I ended being “one-slash killed” by the Machete, ‘cause I seriously remained slack-jawed, I blame game’s updates!).
Luckily, the roof of what I’ll call main/central building of that airport is still rather safe, went there on my second try and the Skulls left me alone, just a single one followed me, but he was killed by Quiet rather fast… Waited a few more minutes for her to finish the other three off… PERFECT HEALTH, NO KILLS Bonus, sigh.
Something to counter balance that crappy luck: I earned S Rank on [EXTREME] “Code Talker” on my first try, on the PS3 one of those weirdly sexy, borg-like female snipers is always waiting for me when I finish climbing near the waterfall, 100% safe route my ass.

Bought X-Com 2 today and spent most of the day screaming with rage at the outrageous toughness of it all. My guys just seem utterly inept, routinely missing enemies who are literally right next to them. Meanwhile the aliens casually pwn all my guys across all kinds of intervening terrain from miles away.
I like X-Com, have done since the old days when it first came out. Loved the remake, but this game... its really trying my patience. Its crazy how much harder it is, right from the get go. Maybe I'll get used to it, but for now its feeling like its too punishing to be any fun.

Paper Mario: Color T̶h̶r̶a̶s̶h̶ Splash
Just... Why? Why?! WHY?!
I tried to be fair to this game, but the more I dug into it the more flaws I found in its structure, presentation and gameplay. For all its so-called improvements over Sticker Star's dreadful changes, it's still an empty experience all around. It's pretty much cookie-cutter kitsch like the rest of the Mario brand these days.
First Star Fox Zero, then Metroid Prime: Federation Force, and now this... 2016 is just a baaaad year for a long-time Nintendo player. LOZ: Breath of the Wild better be mind-bending or else I'll be jumping ship to Sony again.

The Elder Scrolls Online.
Pay once and play as long as you keep your Xbox Live Gold subscription active.
Although, they do offer premium content like extra storage for crafting. But that costs $17.99 (CDN) a month for ESO PLUS subscription.
Other bonuses like minor boosts to your character and 10% extra XP per kill.
It's still quite enjoyable without the PLUS membership.
The Premium Store to buy mounts and vanity items costs real money.
Real money turns into "Crowns" which is the game currency to buy from the "Crown Store" for Mounts and vanity items.
Some of it looks worthwhile.
There's a Cave Bear mount I want. And demonic horse.
The pets are pure vanity as they don't do anything for you. But there's a monster I want that looks like it's right out of Pacific Rim.

Completely revamped and a different beast than the original.
They used the same engine as the last generation of PS2 Tomb Raider games or something. Legend or something.

Looking for a copy of The Tomb Raider Trilogy (Tomb Raider Legend, Tomb Raider Anniversary and Tomb Raider Underworld). Probably be something like how I was with FFIX and GTAV... hated both of them when they first came out, yet went back to them some time later and enjoyed them (Obviously GTAV I like way more than FFIX... guess I must have latent sociopathic homicidal urges...>.<), so I'm hoping I get the same feel when I play these TR games.

7 Days to Die on Xbox One.
We've made it to about day 63 so far. Still alive and kicking.
I died quite a few times already. Damn spikes are super effective.
We've upgraded nearly the entire house to concrete and upgraded the doors to vaults and then those twice to their maximum levels.
My repairs and block damage is maxed out so I do most of the repairs and tree chopping and mining.
I really want to get my archery up as I use that the most. So much cheaper and faster to find feathers for arrows than it is hunting down every last bit of nitrate.
I also need to work on my armor smithing as my character overheats the most from swinging the steel tools all the time.
Miscellaneous crafting is also maxed out so I make all the traps and fences and barbwire.
My crafting speed is maxed so I really do all the misc. stuff around.
I've grown akin to the Sledgehammer as a blunt weapon.
It's so beautiful and satisfying when you get a headshot or hit one of the limbs just right.
We're almost at the point were we're maxed out our skills and ready to up the zombie spawn to double.

My dear friend recently gifted me METAL GEAR SOLID Ⅴ: GROUND ZEROES - The mission which gives the game part of its title is, in my opinion, better than 97% of THE PHANTOM PAIN… I miss the ability to "knock on stuff", though, distracting enemies with that noise is an integral part of my approach to stealth in both past METAL GEAR SOLID entries and "TPP", finding it a bit hard to adapt to its absence. At least I get to wear again the awesome-looking Sneaking Suit from PEACE WALKER (nothing against the standard TPP S. Suit, but that's just a slightly bulkier version of the one from MGS1), among other things.
Also downloaded Everybody's Gone to the Rapture (one of the free games of this month for PS Plus subscribers): a strange game, don't have much to say about it, apart that I'm liking its "BGM" a lot.

Haven't touched the MP yet... wanted to get the SP done first. Just finished the SP and yeah, I agree with your assessment. Definitely one of the better SP campaigns around with some damn good characters (Gator, Salt, E3N (he was my favorite)) and the story was pretty damn good I thought. Glad I got this tbh. Still on THE PHANTOM PAIN, just seven nukes stolen from players, sadly; I must say dismantlement is unfair, it happens instantly, a player needs between 20-24 "real world" hours to build a nuke and a lot of time has to be spent collecting (and processing) the amount of resources needed for it, first. So far Ezlo is on par with Midna as a favorite companion of mine. Snarky, sassy, but smart nonetheless. Far better than Navi or *shudder* Fi.

So Mad Max on Steam has some mods out there.
Increase reoslution to 4K and stuff. But no real info if it makes it look any better.
One about "no hud" if that's your thing.
And one to increase contrast and saturation to extreme limits with a modder's note to decrease gamma. The effect is supposed to make it look like Fury Road.
Not much support outside of that.
It would be nice if there was a mod that lets you stock melee weapons in your vehicle.
Or if that happens later on. It's still early in the game.
But looking for mod showcasing on youtube, those are the only ones.
A lot of mods for GTAV that let you have a Mad Max tanker to bomb around in.
 I really want to drive a truck and sound the horn just like in the movie.
They ought to make a Burnout game in the same nature as Mad Max for the extremists.
1 truck, 5 guards, 10 attackers. 50 mile stretch highway like in The Matrix Reloaded.

Most of the bugs are fixed for Aliens: Colonial Marines.
I've not spotted a single dancing alien yet. :/
I was actually hoping for it.
I'm about half way through the game.
And I actually got scared at a couple points.
They really know how to set up the atmosphere for the game.
Walking around the movie set for Aliens with the music creeping up on you and the aliens being as dark as the room, it really adds up.
It's quite easy to die in the game.
And it's not that easy to pull of a finishing move when one of them get up close to you for melee attacks.
There's one move that happens if you time it right: You grab their head, pull out your pistol and shove it in their mouth.
I'm not sure if that finishing move is performed on timing or if it's random.
I haven't found the right condition for it, and I'd rather not experiment with it. Each time you die, a little piece of you dies inside.
So far, not picking up a whole lot that ties the movies together.
A lot of references to the second movie.
And I guess you really get to learn about Weyland-Yutani partnership that leads to part 3.
The graphics are nice. The dark lighting helps a lot.
And I've been playing with ChromaDepth 3D (
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ChromaDepth) glasses so that has really created a new aspect to the horror atmosphere.
Technically, Chromadepth isn't designed for straight passive conversion like 3D TV's do.
They're mainly for neon and black light events/images. They're much more effective that way.
80's music videos, etc.
But, using a thicker lense, they can be suitable for movies for a very different experience.
There is also the issue of seeing rainbowing off to the sides.
You have to play with the light levels in the room to minimize that.
And eventually get used to them to the point you don't even notice them anymore.

Finally finished Final Fantasy XIII a few hours ago. Pretty good! I really enjoyed it. The beginning was pretty slow, but it started picking up nicely around Chapter 5(or 6, maybe 7).
Got started on FF XIII-2 and already things are picking up lol. I think I might like this as much as the first one. I'll get to it later, though.

Decided to try the first Watch_Dogs, as I haven't played it since I bought it (yeah... my backlog is a 'little big'). From what I've played, I do NOT like it one bit. The driving, shooting mechanics are horrible. The story is average at best, the music is mediocre and Aiden Pearce... ugh... I can understand why this got such a bad rep, glad that Watch_Dogs 2 is so much better in every department.
So, went to start on Plague Inc. on Steam... see how that is.

To me, it wasn't bad, it just could've been so much more. As for the music, I actually liked it(I'm not sure if you're referring to the OST or the licensed music. Some of the licensed music was good, too).
Finishing up Need for Speed: Carbon(360)since I never finished it.
Edit: Finished NFS: Carbon last week and just today finished Ninja Gaiden 2...on Acolyte since the boss on chapter 3 pissed me off on Warrior. Sadly, the rest of the game wasn't any better, especially on Acolyte. Just a pure torture fest. That, and the camera is somehow worse in this compared to the first one. At least I got it out of my backlog, but man, it wasn't fun to play.
Time to play something that doesn't get my blood boiling lol.

Really? This one has been sittitng on my shelf (untouched) for a while and after playing the first NG (I didn't finish...) and getting brutally beaten almost all the time, I wonder if it's for me... I hate when my blood also boils while playing these so-unbelievably-hard games... : /

I kind of went off the Tales games, precisely because they are solid. They all offer generally decent RPG exploration and combat, quirky characters, great skits and banter etc. But they all kind of blend together for me and feel like basically the same game. Vesperia was the only truly great one IMO, and even that just did the same old things - it just did them all particularly well.
Still, its not like they're bad games or anything. I think solid is an appropriate description of them. My translation of that would be 'Acceptable, if you're really hurting for a new game, there's nothing else out and if you feel in the mood for it'.

Been mixing up between Shovel Knight and Disgaea 5. In Shovel Knight, I was somehow able to get the new game plus trophy which is one of the hardest trophies to get. The other is the speed run trophy, which is to beat the game in an hour an a half from start to finish. It is the last trophy I need to platinum the game. In Disgaea 5, I've been training my units in post-game to get strong enough to tackle the Carnage Dimension.

Not sure whether I should tackle Madhouse difficulty right away in RE7, or break/"collect" Mr. Everywhere dolls, first. Aside from that, it has been a pretty good RE for me, nice survival horror, it lost a bit of appeal in the last two "segments".
I didn't find its soundtrack memorable, sadly, though I sure dig the vocal track; I'll have to get myself the album with just the arrangements of "Go Tell Aunt Rhody", too.
EDIT:
Thanks to a friend I've got myself a copy of that "Go Tell Aunt Rhody" CD, it shipped this morning, just have to wait for it to reach my place.

equip both rings of arcana (or whatever their real names are) to more easily farm the crissaegrim.
and no, it doesnt need a code, and the online pass code of ds2 wasnt needed, since passes are now free.
the problem is im the only one i know that still owns a ps3, so i dont know where to take the game to see if its my lens or the disc itself.

"the only one I know that still owns a ps3" Haha! Mine once "burned" because of a bad use of the reset button. Came back from repair with memory doubled and sometimes I notice little freezing here and there, nothing major. Not an expert talking but maybe it's the copy the problem. In 6 years of PS3 the only trouble I had with it was unsync sound / sfx plus ridiculously long loading times during the "burning" period until it stopped working.
After that, pure bliss : D

Finished Nioh. For all the hysteria about it being 'harder than Dark Souls', it was nothing of the sort (not that Dark Souls is anywhere near as hard as people make out either, mind you). Anuway, it was a decent game I guess but it was far too easy and WAY too long for an action game, which is essentially what it is.
I'm not some No Damage, No deaths, Lvl 1 only nutcase, but I'm pretty good at these games though I say it myself. Still, I barely died at all in the actual stages (like actually at all, I beat most stages without dying to anything but the boss, which is certainly not what I was expecting). The bosses are all over the place. Some are unreasonably hard, but most are complete pushovers. IMO there are only 4 hard bosses: Hino Enma, Nue, Yuki Onna and Okatsu. The rest I just rolled right over.
Unless we count Sub missions. Tachibana Muneshige's duel and the later duel against him and Honda... Now those *were* hard.

Hail Traveler! :D
Well it has similarites obviously, but its closer to say Onimusha and Ninja Gaiden than Dark Souls. Nothing wrong with that of course, and Nioh is a good game with great combat. But it doesn't have that... mystique that Souls has. The bizarre eccentric characters, the understated but fascinating lore and the melancholy fading world that you can burst back into life at the end etc.
Nioh is much more straightforward in its plot and actually has a half decent one at that, yet the actual storytelling is dreadful and extremely hard to follow. Big Irish dude who is so intensly a man of few words that he makes Gordon Freeman seem like a chatterbox, lots of demons, and a whole job lot of very similar looking caves and mountain villages etc. It does have one really cool level in a kind of 'House of Ninjas' place, with assassins jumping out from trapdoors in the floors and ceilings, revolving doors and other hi-jinks.
Its a decent game to be sure. Its just too long for the type of game it is, and the stats feel kind of irrelevant. If they'd stripped the stats and grinding out, and edited the game down to a 8-12 hour campaign, let you use all the weapons equally etc, it would have been much improved IMO.
