I've also never finished DDS. Never really liked it that much, and the fact that you have to buy the second game for the full story made me think "Better put this away until I'm absolutely sure I wanna go through all of this.". Nocturne on the other hand... was awesome.
I'm currently playing Kingdom Hearts Final Mix and I've got Persona 3... excuse me, Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3, on pre-order. So I'll be playing that pretty soon. Too bad it got delayed a week (was suppose to release today).

I just picked up a used copy of DooM 3 for Xbox. It's frickin' awesome, though I admit I expected it to be a little more fun like Ultimate DooM and DooM II. I think they did a good job combining Quake elements with DooM to make this new game. I must complain though, those fireball-throwing imps are really getting on my nerves; they are the only enemies that I don't like whereas all the others are either threatening or give me easy kills. They were a pain to deal with in the original games but in this new one, I just hate them. >(
I've also been playing Tomb Raider: Anniversary Edition (downloaded via torrent for pc), and I must say, it's a great remake of the very first Tomb Raider (which I still have and is the only one I finished, lolz). Once I get tired of blowing people's heads off with a scoped Springfield '03, I play Tomb Raider to chill out with less violence. Most of the time, the violence in TR consists of you shooting a berserk wild animal to death while perched atop a high ledge or something. Oh, and the T-Rex battle was much fun, though I don't remember how that went about in the original game. (I think I was sitting in some safe place while I pistol it to death, lolz) The rest of the game consists of fun (sometimes a bit, er, exotic) puzzles and obstacle courses to conquer.
I recommend both games to anyone of y'all.

Remember that game I hate, called Kingdom Hearts? Well, I decided to give it another chance.
Re-started last night, maybe the night before. Good news: the Gameshark codes work, and I should be able to make short work of it.
Game's even more lax on cut scenes/voice-overs than I remember (Number #1 reason it turned me off at first, seemed like a downgrade, after the voice-over/cut scene heavy FFX); taking "Wonderland" as an example, you only get voiced-over scenes when you drop in, talk to the doorknob, and then seeing the Queen of Hearts jailing Alice, but the climax to this little story isn't voiced-over. If made a sequential VHS recording of all cinema scenes in the game, it would just be a sideshow of Sora looking in on a bunch of Disney characters; that is, until the end.
When you fight Squall/Leon, there's something cool I never noticed before: he paces to the left and right of you, stalking you like a LION! Makes sense, right? He's so awexome...
I guess it's a good hack n' slash, but the plot's nothing, which is what turned me off initially. The battle menu interface is still clunky; they could've given better options to be able to choose items, but at least there's a shortcut menu for magic. Healing's still difficult, unless you're using magic.
...
I'm also playing Devil May Cry 3...playing multiple games simultaneously as usual. Definitely the best of the series; it's good when sequels improve. Plenty of different moves and options, if only I could remember them all, and then make use of them.
It's also good how you're rewarded with a cut scene at the beginning and end of every mission, and there hasn't packed either comedy or suspense. Dante actually has some decent one-liners, and his sort of carefree, yet badassittude is actually rather endearing.
Vergil and Arkham are another sort of badass, and Jester's all sorts of Chesire Cat...dancing away while getting shot at!
Only thing I don't like, is how they give Dante a younger-sounding voice; the gruff-sounding Dante in the first two was better.
Gameshark codes don't seem to work for this one, so I'm going to be playing it the old-fashioned way. The first two boss battles are rather well-designed; there's actually some strategy to them, aside from aimlessly hack n' slashing away at them.

Suikoden IV’s pretty retro, y’know?
I’m enjoying the game’s islandic atmosphere, kind of reminds me of Phantom Brave, or even earlier, Chrono Cross. Ahh, until I’m able to vacation in the islands all the time, I guess these will just have to do…
RUNNING: (Groan) I knew it was going to take forever to walk anywhere…until I re-discovered the R1 button! Knowing this probably cut my potential gameplay time in half! We’re back to holding down a button just to run? Pretty retro, man. At least the game doesn’t insist on re-creating every humanly correct nuance of walking, like in FFVII~X; took forever to walk anywhere in those games, with the first two being the worst.
SAILING: I’d heard the sailing in this game was a pain, and at first it was fine, but trying to come in range to dock could be a annoying, especially since your ship insists on u-turning every time you hit an invisible wall. I’ve always thought it would be cool if an RPG re-created accurate vehicle movement…until now. Come to think of it, imagine having to land one of the FF airships like you would an airplane, and if you hit some place where you couldn’t land, you’d end up just going back up into the sky, and having to try again? And, holding down R1 is simply mandatory to make your ship move ANYWHERE.
MAP: It’s. So. BIG. I shouldn’t have to scroll up and down to see the whole map when I open it; why, there’s nothing north of Iluya, anyway! And what are those larger land masses to the west and north? You don’t even get to visit them!
OBJECTIVES: Just like any retro RPG, objectives aren’t always stated clearly. Most of the time, you’re left checking your world map for a blue arrow pointing at the island you’re supposed to go to next. Oh well, the game’s at least open-ended enough without coming out and say, “I’M AN OPEN-ENDED GAME!!” Of course, you’d probably expect an open-ended game when the map’s simply a wide-open ocean with a bunch of islands plunked down in it, and you're allowed to sail back and forth between all of them.
VOICE-OVERS: This would have to be one of the most unevenly voiced-over games ever. Some scenes that are important enough to the central plot to be voiced-over aren’t, while other things, like mini-games ARE voiced over! It’s not important to hear my team deliberating with the king of Obel, or to hear the Imperial conferences voiced over, but I have to listen to Rita, and her squeaky-ass voice shouting “Okay!” “Alright!” “You’re not gonna beat me!” “I’m getting good at this!” “Oh no!” “I lost!”
NAVAL BATTLES: Despite being pretty basic turn-based strategy, trump your enemies’ shots with opposing Runes, the naval battles were probably the most enjoyable part of the game. I hope Suikoden Tactics turns out this well.
DUELS: These, too, were an interesting take on rock, paper, scissors.
BATTLE: The basic battle system was actually nice, and leveling-up was a breeze…for awhile. And then they kept coming, and coming, and coming…every other step I took! Which brings me to my next point:
DUNGEONS: The dungeons in this game are short, and there aren’t very many of them, either. And when dungeons are short, you’d better believe their only reinforcement left is having enemy encounters every other step. Man, they need to recruit professional architects to get decent dungeon designs anymore. When was the last time that an RPG claimed to have awexome dungeon designs? It’s gotten so bad these days, that it wouldn’t be embarrassing to proclaim on the back of the packaging: “AWEXOME DUNGEON DESIGNS BY PROFESSIONAL ARCHITECTS.”
Besides encounters occurring every other step, they put enemy encounters in some pretty strange places, even in the middle of towns! (See: Na-Nal Town Square; can’t even walk through there without getting attacked by killer bees?!)
RECRUITING: “Hi, I’d like to join your party!” “Do/fetch this for me, and I’ll join your party!” “Hey, let’s fight! Oh no, I lost, I’ll join your party.” Wow, when was the last time you met this many people who wanted to hang around you? Most, if any of them, have little or nothing to do with you, let alone any back stories, yet they all want to get onto your ship…or into your pants. Or boy shorts. Whatever. I know it’s a staple of the Suikoden series, but I’ve gotten over it. What’s a pain is when you reach a certain point in the game, and you’re not able to recruit a certain character anymore. Hmm, when was the last time you played a game based in the islands, in which you could recruit millions of insignificant characters? Chrono Cross, anyone?
BALLOON STATUS AILMENT: Okay, it was funny the first time, in Secret of Mana. I walk into a cave, a bat flashes a bunch of different colors, and all of a sudden, I have a helium balloon tethered to my head, and I’m immobilized (why would having a helium balloon tethered to your head immobilize you?) But in Suikoden? I thought this game was supposed to serious! Last time I checked, Suikoden was based in medieval times; they wouldn’t even have the rubber or plastic to make a helium balloon, let alone the helium gas! WTF? Most of the time it gets cast on you, it doesn’t even make sense! A rodent or wolf runs up and bites you, and suddenly you have a helium balloon tethered to your head! And once it’s tethered to your head, you can’t just puncture it with your weapon, no, you need a needle to puncture it! (Because it’s a MAGICAL helium balloon that can only be punctured by a MAGICAL needle!)
SOUNDTRACK: By far, the best part of the game. Glad to hear that a number of the traditional Suikoden themes return for newer renditions.
…
Despite several gripes, I’m actually enjoying the game, other than the plot, naval battles and duels, things like the confessional and hot springs baths provide insight into some of the characters, or at least result in humorous dialogue, making use of some of the otherwise insignificant characters. Still, I’m going to be glad once I finish this game, especially with the special ending, and finally put this on the sale shelf. Whew, I think I’m ready for Suikoden Tactics. After that, Suikoden V. And, hopefully, sometime in the near future, Suikoden VI?
IV was the worst Suikoden by far, but I played it and somehow enjoyed it. My major gripe with the game were the random battles that occured when you were sailing your ship. And sometimes you were left without any sense of direction when it comes to going where you are suppose to go. Also the main characters were of the very ghey variety.
But man...once you play Suikoden V. You'll be like "Psh. Suikoden IV? What's that?" I assume you played the first 2, right? Cuz those are classics especially 2. Suikoden 3 wasn't so bad either.
I've been playing Metroid Prime 3 all weekend, which utterly shits on the faces of all those people who say Wii games aren't next-gen enough.

Hahaha...for me to be as positive about Suikoden IV as I am, you can assume that I've never played a previous Suikoden, and you'd be right.
Although, I've played about 3 hours into Suikoden III, until I deemed it boring; just walking around took too much time, and was very stinted. Also, selecting battle commands for two characters at a time was just ridiculous.
I've only played about 1-2 hours in Suikoden V, and I'll say it's easily better than Suikoden IV just based on that; the English voice-overs are pretty good, the music is awexome, and the plot especially promises to be explosive.

I haven't gamed in quite a while, but usually I come back to my three favorites: SH2, Spyro the Dragon and Morrowind. I love big, creative worlds to explore (by myself; I don't do those MMORPG monstrosities). I love being scared and disturbed out of my wits, and also being inspired for art of my own (which often goes hand-in-hand with scared and disturbed part).
I also play Twisted Metal 2 and Black, Treasures of the Deep and a good game of any of the recent Dynasty Warriors. But as for War of the Monsters, I think I scared all my friends away. Kineticlops...just owns. Get over it.

I am currently breezing through FFV Advance and Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis.
JPOG is a great game; one of my favorite sim-type games. Have you gotten to any of the missions that involve sniping dinos from the helicopter?
Or, alternatively, have you played Chaos Island, the JP RTS?

Well, when I game, the point is to escape from the real world and indulge in a beautifully-rendered virtual world. I don't want the kinds of people that bother me in real life following me around in my game world. I tried them, don't like them...I stick to an immersing single-player experience.

Thanks. It's not that I don't respect MMORPGs and online games as valid art. I certainly do. But, as far as my personal tastes are concerned, they're just not my bag.
But back on the topic of the thread: may I add that I've been begging my mom to send my Silent Hill collection out to me. I've beginning to have withdrawal symptoms.
And PS: I have been trying to beat "Bad Mojo Redux." It's an ingenious game where you play as a cockroach. Anyone heard of it?

Valid point. I'll settle for that. i sometimes prefer to just play a game on my own. especially the .hack series. (simulated MMORPG for those who don't know) lol. but i spose i just like the interaction in online games.

Because I'm burning through it so fast, I'm probably going to have to track down my own copy of Silent Hill 3.
I can't make any guarantees, but I think I can probably finish Diamond this weekend, if I try really hard. I'll get you that Poochyena, Brock!!

I've been willing to play this game... Is it really good?
I only saw the official trailer of it and I thought it looked great.
What's your opinion about it?
Ace Combat 6 : Fires of Liberation is actually my first foray into the Ace Combat series, so I can't really compare it to any of the others. I downloaded the trailer and demo for it off of Xbox Live around May 2007, and straight away I enjoyed it.
If you enjoy air combat style gameplay (I've only played space combat sims - X-wing, TIE Fighter, Wing Commander series, Renegade : Battle for Jacob's Star, etc.), then I'd say give it a shot and see what you think. It is a solid combat game and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a good game.

I'm still going on in FFXII since I got it at Christmas. I'm 49 hrs in and I'm just finished Frans story in the viera village. It's seriously awesome. I'm absolutely loving the combat and the hunts.
Also, started Mass Effect. It's alright but I fell asleep during the first mission. I think I'll leave it until I've finished FFXII. I can never get my head around more than one game at once.

Currently playing Lost Odyssey.
The story is captivating, the gameplay is classic J-RPG and the soundtrack is pretty good so I enjoy it plenty so far...

Yeah, I saw the trailer a while back, and I thought it was great. I'll be getting this game in a couple of weeks, in early March.

Final Fantasy XII.
Imma in a race with my boyfriend to complete it entirely. I'm so far behind, because I keep posting here instead of playing.
