Deluxe looks super great to me, based on the vid. If the voyager is good, it'll be a case of buying both for me. Deluxe has really nice engineering and the alt-mode makes me swoon.

Screwed me out of the other two Joe items in the same fashion. Matrix-packaging Prime Prime is still available (it was listed way after everything else), but I'm beyond caring at this point.

Was bored so I ventured out to a random Wal-Mart. There, I found Kre-O. I picked up the cheap-o Optimus, simply for something to do. Gawn build the robot mode approximately now.

The 7 dollar Kre-O Optimus is alright. His legs are pretty lame, and the hands are nubs - but it's fine for the price.

That's not bad, tbh. Kinda smexy. It's the silver paint on the one that I posted that's really bugging me. I know it's supposed to have rust cropping up through it, but something about the silver is off.

Silver on that one is uniform (in application) and looks lightyears better because of it.

Megs has the same wonked proportions as Prime(gargantuan legs, minuscule torso and microscopic head), but the cloak makes up for the head, for me. Plus, Prime has to live with those solar panels in the NA release.

Voyager Megatron is tempting...but he's just so drab and lacking color. maybe when he goes on clearance, or if they do a repaint.

Decepticon. They're always black on the few instances they are regular cars. Why are all the military and police vehicles bad guys when there's a whole yay army guys theme is beyond me.

He was getting all ready for the finale but then he doesn't do anything. 2nd movie no police car. 3rd no police car but Soundwave works kinda like him with the cassette tape guy feature. Maybe they shoulda just had him be sound wave form the begining.

Breakdown is hilarious, playing off Megs, though.

Evil police car/Barricade shows up randomly in DOTM, he's the one they show getting his eyes shot out by a sniper. He's the one that executes "Q" as well. Big whoop. He dies in the background of a shot - from human hands, of course.

The red car in DOTM was meant to be Mirage but they renamed him Dino for the movie. They say his name over loudspeaker in the Autobot hangar where they just sit around in car mode for no reason - hardly a decent intro. Anyone that doesn't know to listen for "Dino" will easily miss it, I'm sure.

It's part of a typical extended bit of military dudes being amazing, Lennox sends people up a building and radios "TAKE OUT THEIR EYES" then there's a 1 second closeup of Barricade's face getting his eyes shot out. Next time we see him he's in the background going boom.

I really hate the military stuff in the bayformers movies. Not just for the simple reason that this should be about the Transformers itself but for the fact that it feels more exploitative of the army and people's support of it.

That scene at the end of the opening action sequence in Return of the Fallen were you see the flag covered caskets of the guys who died in the fight just felt ichy and wrong.
The sinking of the aircraft carrier in the same movie also had that same vibe but it was meant to be sad and horrifying yet it was shot and presented as this big spectacle with oooh and ahhh in it. And then there's the fact that for the most part the humans are completely infective against the transformers and die the the dozens until the finale when all their weapons can somehow kill them with ease. If they could shoot down the fighters and bombers than how did the Decepticons take over Chicago in the 1st place?
And then there's that scene in 3 were we see all these army guys gearing up and it's meant to be a big reunion even though we've never seen any of them before and they're gonna take back their land and country and defend their people but once they get there they decide it's too dangerous and that everyone's probably dead anyway? And then fucking Labuff is the one to pep talk them into doing what their job description is? Also that black guy who said he didn't sign up for being shot at and blown up.

Plus there's the fact that we have no idea who these guys are and don't care about them in the slightest. I feel bad for Prokins the X-Wing pilot who died *spoilers* but don't give a fuck about even the main black guy or the family guy who was on all my children and they're the main army human characters. What ever happened to that guy's wife and daughter anyway? 3 hour run time and not even a letter scene or a video conference with them?

Totally out of state. As for being in the add I believe that there's a photo shoot and the photographer is given a bunch of stuff to shoot and whatever is in the chosen pics is what's in the flyer regardless of what the stores are carrying.

To each their own, but for my money, MakeToys' Giant looks like so much ass compared to Hercules. SO. MUCH.

I like them for different reasons. Giant (in combined mode) looks like a nod to the old toy, whereas Hercules is more like the modern comic art. They scratch different itches. I have a crazy affection for G2's awful colors, I'll remind you, so the first release of Giant has me there as well. Although, it's not as if bright ass green doesn't fit in with that mindset. If only it had random tiger stripes and pink/gold/red/teal highlights, hmm.

The Samurai stuff is good quality, regardless of that small incident of corner cutting in terms of functionality. Which is more than made up for with the Mega Blade.

The articulation on the figures is quite passable, considering.

Stems from the redesign in the game I guess. The original was already pretty huge iirc, not sure why they had to bulk him up. It does look nicer than before with the painted silver however, but even that could use some more highlights. I'll bet tons of custom painted ones end up on ebay.

Can't speak for everyone but I know there are/have been pro-Beast Wars shriners. Great show and lots of neat toys. It doesn't come up much since we mostly ramble about current goings on, but it's certainly welcome.

I figured every fan (outside of the Bayformers shit) had seen Beast Wars.

I mean, it could be a little....preachy(?)...but was overall a great show.

Waspinator is probably one of the better 'comic relief' characters in the TF universe.

I didn't get back into the fandom until the first Bay movie toys. I know what I know about everything else from tidbits picked up in toy reviews on youtube.

I'm a casual fan, at best. After seeing what they were willing to provide in terms of combiners (movie Devy), I looked elsewhere for my gestalt needs (Sentai). It was the right move, because Power Core Combiners are rather EEEEEEEEEEEH, on the whole.

Only thing I can claim to be somewhat dedicated about is Animated, since I've seen it all.

Hmm. Well Arcee isn't just a one dimensional hard ass. She does have her "demons" but the action girl routine always comes into play. They've given her plenty of action scenes this season.

I don't like the younger two kids in the show but luckily they've been very much in the background for a long stretch now. Until the last episode, bleh. Really didn't enjoy that one.

For anyone who doesn't know, Peter Cullen was the original voice of Optimus way back in the Generation 1 era. He will be returning to the role in the new movie due out next summer. This has actually sparked a minute bit of hope in me that the movie may not suck completely. I realize that hope will likely be crushed though.

Make sure to spell out everything, i.e. no trades, shipping only to North America or whatever other stipulations - otherwise you might get hit with a ton of unnecessary questions.

I saw that earlier and will listen when I'm on my better computer. Mixing is so tedious, it's what I've been working on most lately. So hard to get everything balanced properly while also remaining powerful and so on, especially without good equipment.

Prime isn't THAT bad. I think maybe everyone is comparing him to the original which is COMPLEX CITY.

From everything I've seen, the articulation on Optimus is pretty good. Pulls off the whole "toy" thing just fine. He's another tiny ass deluxe though, and imo the details are pretty washed out. Not sure if it's the the colors of the plastic or lower quality plastic overall. Sculpting just doesn't look sharp/refined/other words. Retail price is up a few dollars more from the Prime figures on the FoC stuff as well. Might not be the case at Wal-Mart however.

I don't dig the skinny legs but the first one I'd buy is Shockwave.

Shockwave definitely doesn't look too bad, but I've never been super big on the character.

Oh hay. Animated is airing in full widescreen/HD on the Hub. The Cartoon Network version was cropped to full screen. Maybe a Blu-ray with full quality is possible somewhere down the line.

Yeah Season 3 has yet to be released. Most assumed the Cartoon Network ownership was going to keep a full-series release tied up but now that it's airing on Hasbro's channel there's some renewed possibility. Nothing definite though. At the very least, we can have illegal-ass HD encodes now.
