Hmm. Not a huge amount of votes here. Aw well. This one turned out to be quite one-sided...
Terra - 9
Steiner's Theme - 1
"Steiner's Theme" only managed one vote. That will not, of course, be enough to get it into the semi-finals. "Terra" earns that spot.
Next battle...
Seto's Theme (The Great Warrior Seto) - Final Fantasy VII (Bugenhagen: "This warrior went through the cave all alone. Fighting attackers one after another..." Red XIII: "Grandpa........ That warrior...." Bugenhagen: "Ho Ho Hoooo... We're almost there." )
vs.
Beatrix's Theme (Rose of May / Loss of Me) - Final Fantasy IX (Beatrix: "...Citizens of Burmecia, please forgive me." Freya: "It is too late to seek forgiveness! ...But you can still save Dagger." Zidane: "Freya..." Freya: "I tell you this because I acknowledge your powers. Help your princess." Beatrix: "I don't know if I can... ...but I will give it a try. I hope this will work.")
Beatrix's Theme only just scraped by last time. Will it win now, or is this it for it? Cast your votes!

Definitely a pretty heated competition on this one. Let's see how it turned out...
The Great Warrior Seto - 8
Rose of May - 5
The Theme of Seto rides a backlash against Beatrix's Theme to take a spot in the semi-finals. And so we bid goodbye to Beatrix for now, but we'll be seeing more of Seto later.
Two battles left in the quarter-finals. First of them is...
Kefka - Final Fantasy VI (Kefka: "Run! Run! Or you'll be well done! YES!!!!! Poor old...... Oh well, what a worthless excuse for an Emperor!! Gestahl: "There'll be no one to worship us..." Celes: "Snap out of it, Kefka!")
vs.
Kuja's Theme - Final Fantasy IX (Zidane: "Kuja! What are you plotting?" Kuja: "I am done with you!" Vivi: "W-Wait a minute!" Zidane: "Vivi! Look out!" Kuja: "Don't worry, I hear these twins put on quite a good show. Of course, they're really not twins at all...")
Two great villains, but only one's theme is going to make it into the semi-finals. Which one will that be? Cast your votes!

6 votes just not enough to win it. It's "Kefka" for the semi-finals.
And now, the last battle of the quarter finals:

Rufus: "Even the Air Force's Gelnika?" Heidegger: ".....Gya haa haa!" Rufus: "Stop that stupid horse laugh. Things are different than when father was in charge." Heidegger: "Gya...")
vs.

Let's see how the last battle of the Quarter Finals turned out...
Rufus Welcoming Ceremony - 9
Succession of Witches - 12
Wow. Best turnout in quite a while. And excellent battle too. It was a close one, but "Rufus Welcoming Ceremony" never quite gained the ground it needed. So the one we've dubbed Ultimecia's Theme, "Succession of Witches" earns a spot in the semi-finals. Let's take a look at what we have left for those...
Kefka - Final Fantasy VI
Terra - Final Fantasy VI
Seto's Theme (The Great Warrior Seto) - Final Fantasy VII
Ultimecia/Artimesia's Theme (Succession of Witches) - Final Fantasy VIII
So it looks like we've got two for VI, one from VII and one from VIII. Surprising, nothing left from IX this time around. Well, it's time for the first battle of the semi-finals...
Kefka - Final Fantasy VI (Kefka: "Grrr! How DARE they put me in a place like this! I don't believe this! ... ... What a bore." ... ... ... Gestahl: "As you know, Kefka's in jail for his war crimes. What shall we do with him?" Player: "Leave him in jail..." Gestahl: "Hmm... Well, let's let him stew in his cell for a while. Then we'll decide what to do. I truly apologize about the poisoning of Doma. No one dreamed Kefka would use poison." Player: "That was inexcusable." Gestahl: "I'm so terribly sorry! Kefka's being severely punished, and we're cleaning up the poison.")
vs.
Seto's Theme (The Great Warrior Seto) - Final Fantasy (Red XIII: "But when I remember my father, my heart is full of anger..." Bugenhagen: "...You really can't forgive your father...?" Red XIII: "Of course. He... left mother for dead. When the Gi tribe attacked, he ran off by himself, leaving mother and the people of the Canyon!" Bugenhagen: "...Come, Nanaki. There's something you should see." )

Party: "Terra looks like she's in pain." Ramuh: "Her very existence strikes fear into her own heart." Party: "How can we help her?" Ramuh: "When she accepts this aspect of herself, I think she'll be alright.")
vs.

So we do indeed have an all-VI final. But which will it be? "Terra" seems to be the favored choice, but I wouldn't consider the madness of "Kefka" out without a chance. It's all down to this final battle...
Kefka - Final Fantasy VI (Kefka: "Imagine! Thinking you could defeat ME!! This is rich! Mwa, ha, ha! Now, my little Magicite pretties...... come, and help me build the magical empire of 'Kefka'! X-Zone! G'haw, haw...... Ooh! They're warm to the touch! What treasures! This is ridiculous! I had no idea you were such wimps! Time to put a stop to all this. Phew... All right, taking nominations for Most Annoying Dialogue from the games. Those lines that you just can't stand and make you wish, maybe just for a moment anyway, that you were playing some other game. Example:
Rinoa: "Fine...I guess I'll have to bug you for the rest of the night. And I'm gonna keep chanting 'concert, concert, concert' and drive you nuts. Is that what you want?" - Final Fantasy VIII
As always, if there's not much by the way of nominations, I'll just fill in the gaps as best I can.

Hmm, nobody's nominating and I'm not coming up with much myself either. Not really feeling inspired right now -- all the problems with the Shrine lately and I think I could use a bit of a break. I was thinking of maybe revisiting one of the old categories again perhaps maybe Bosses -- it's been such a long time since we did that that I'm sure we could have some good battles. In any case, I don't think I'll start up again till the end of the week or the beginning of next week. In the meantime, feel free to sound off on that idea, or if you think there might be something better that could be done.

Weapons has been done. Actually, thanks for the thoughts, but I think I will go for bosses. It's just more interesting to me and I think I could put it together relatively quickly. And it's been so long since it was done that I'm sure there'd be some interesting new battles. Watch for it starting tomorrow evening. In the meantime, if anyone wants to nominate any bosses, go right ahead. Oh, and I'm placing the following restrictions -- no optional bosses / superbosses, no final bosses or final dungeon bosses either. Anything else is fair game, with the sole exception of Ultros, who won Bosses the first time it was done.
I like the idea of Blue Magic! You can have a whole variety of about 32 including some represented in only one game and branch out... maybe include a few from X-2.
I do like the idea of bosses there... especially since my X-2 one is about to end.
EDIT: I actually have another idea that you can save for later, but it can be kinda cute, I'd totally do it at some point if I were running the one in this forum: Rumble champions rumble. I'd imagine there have been at least 16 rumbles buried in the archives somewhere, take the winners from all of them and set them up! Of course it would seem kinda crazy comparing bosses to FMVs to weapons to characters to pieces of music and what not "i.e. what do you like better, this boss or this song", but it could work! After all they were all champions...

Note -- The choices included are based heavily on my assessment of the popularity of various games and what I think is most likely to have a chance of winning or would at least be interesting to include. If you don't see something that you think really should be included, then please use the nomination option to make suggestions. And remember the conditions - no optional bosses/superbosses or final dungeon bosses. And no Ultros because he won before.
First battle...
Schizo - Final Fantasy VII (A two-headed boss that appears in Final Fantasy VII. This boss appears to trouble you on Gaea's Cliff not long before the part where you enter the North Crater area and the Highwind shows up. Each of the heads acts independent and has different abilities/strengths/weaknesses. One breathes ice and the other breathes fire. The body also has a quake attack. Watch out also because each head has a powerful final attack that it uses once you defeat it. For winning, you get a Dragon Fang.)
vs.
Meltigemini - Final Fantasy IX (Oh, looky. Another two-headed boss! This boss has over 24,000 HP and is actually the combined form of Zorn and Thorn. This boss puts your entire party in Virus status right away its Viral Smoke and then starts using attacks such as Venom Powder, Bio and a physical attack called "Wings." It has some items to steal - Vaccine, Golden Hairpin and Demon's Vest.)
P.S.: Effective immediately, all battles are three days long until it seems like things have settled down and the Shrine isn't down so much. I think this is only fair, just in case. Normal blowout conditions still apply and I will also end within the normal two-day period if there are 8 or more votes and the leader is winning by a margin of 3 or more.

As for nominations, and assuming we are allowed to choose FFXII bosses, I nominate at least one of the Turks' battles from FFVII (maybe the last one in Midgar, though all the Turks battles except for Reno in Sector 7 can technically be avoided and are therefore 'optional') and also the Mandragoras from FFXII.
Also, 'Leblanc - Final Fantasy X-2' is fairly vague. Can you be more specific about which encounter that is, as I believe you fight the three Leblanc Syndicate members together at least twice?

Wow, only two votes for Meltigemini. Didn't expect that. Might have considered ending this sooner, but sure enough, we had another outage, so I'm glad on the whole that I put the new rule into effect.
Now, for just a bit of business before I start the next battle...
Chupon FFVI
Phunbaba VI
GI Nattaku FFVII
Midgar Zolom FFVII
Garland FFIX
Lani FFIX
Phunbaba and Midgar Zolom are optional. The others are under consideration, though not sure about Gi Nattaku -- is there really much point in including a boss that can be knocked off simply by tossing an Elixir at it?
EDIT: Can we have XII bosses? If we can I'd like to nominate at least one or two of Dr. Cid, the Demon Wall, Ba'Gamnan (even though the mandatory part is just running), or one of the Pharos bosses.
Hah, unfortunately the only mandatory boss fight in that game that's remotely interesting is the Demon Wall. All th other interesting ones are optional.
XII bosses is a great idea. I'll definitely include at least one.
All right, I'll consider that too. As for Leblanc, I'll just say the last battle, the one in the Chateau.
All right, the next battle is...
Kefka (Narshe encounter) - Final Fantasy VI (As I mentioned, no final bosses, but if the boss is fightable at some point earlier in the game, then they're fair game. In FFVI, you can fight Kefka in the World of Balance following a minigame of sorts in Narshe. You have to handle groups of parties to prevent soldiers from breaking through to the top and then it's go-time with Kefka. Before you can even get through to him, you have to fight The Rider. He's not overly hard if you're prepared, but could trouble you up if you're caught off-guard or definitely if you didn't prepare properly in making it down the gauntlet. He, naturally, uses a powerful poison attack, as well as physical stuff. Obviously, using equipment that defends against poison stuff can negate his one big advantage.)
vs.
Crawler - Final Fantasy X (A mechanized monster that appears with two Negators. The Negators disable all magic and summoning, so it's important to get them out of the way first. They can be attacked using Wakka's ball. Rikku's "Use" also works. Once the Negators are taken care of, you can start hitting the Crawler with magic and aeon attacks, but it uses a powerful all-target Mana Beam attack that's on countdown from 3. This boss can also counter with Assault and attack with Gatling Gun.)

Kefka (as fought in Narshe) makes his way to the next round and the Crawler crawls outta here.
Next up, let's do:
Rufus + Dark Nation - Final Fantasy VII (You face this battle with Cloud only at the top of the Shinra building. Of course, no matter what you do, the fact remains that once you deal enough damage, Rufus will hitch a helicopter ride and Cloud will be left to say "I couldn't finish 'em, this is gonna get complicated." In any case, you generally want to kill off the Dark Nation first because it supports Rufus by casting Barrier and MBarrier magic. Once you've taken care of that, you can turn your attention to Rufus, but you have to watch out for his fast Shotgun attacks. Rufus doesn't have that much HP, so it should probably be a quick battle, but you may need to keep an eye on Cloud's HP just in case Rufus manages to get some fast attacks in.)
vs.
Ark - Final Fantasy IX (This battle takes place in Oeilvert, so magic's out. As Kuja said, it's the type of place that he really doesn't like -- it has an anti-magic field. He wants you to steal the Gulug Stone, but you have to get past this boss first. Ark uses several dangerous attacks, including Photo [reduces a single character's HP to 1], Whirlwind [damage on all characters], Propeller Wind [confuse status] and Boomerang [another attack that damages everyone]. Freya's Reis's Wind can help here. Oh, and this boss has an awesome item to steal, the Holy Lance, but it can take a long time. Oh, and winning this battle gets you a Pumice Piece, which is half the key to unlocking the summon that bears this bosses' name.)

Seeing as the Shrine seems to be fine right now, I'm ending this by the "margin of three or more" rule I specified when outlined the rules about the move to generally allowing three days for voting. I think we have a fairly obvious winner here:
Ark - 7
Rufus + Dark Nation - 3
Rufus and his panther pal only manage to muster three votes.
Next up...
Atomos - Final Fantasy V (This "sucker" as I called him before over at the FFV Rumble, which is currently doing bosses, guards the top of the Barrier Tower in this game. He just won the second round over there by blowout. He KOs a comet using a Comet spell and then drags them towards a wormhole.
He also uses Demi, Quarter and Slow2. He can be very tough, although there are a few cheap tricks that can be used to defeat him.)
vs.
Adel - Final Fantasy VIII (A lot of people have trouble with this encounter, although if you prepare your party properly, it's not too tough. Actually, the main crutch that stymies some people with this battle is that Rinoa is strapped to her and so any spells that affect all targets will also hit Rinoa. Additionally, she absorbs HP every so often from Rinoa. Standard tactics involve casting Regen on Rinoa and then healing her every so often if still needed. In fact, you can draw the Regen spell from Rinoa herself and then just use "Cast." Adel has Ultima, but it really isn't all that much, and her HP maxes at a little over 50,000. You can Mug a Soul of Samantha from Adel, in fact, if Rinoa's HP is still high and you're willing to "risk it," you can Mug eight Megalixir from her. Other than this, Adel will sometimes use Meteor, but as long as your party is even halfway decent, you can just heal them and should be okay.)

Atma Weapon - Final Fantasy VI (Appears at the end of the Floating Island. Has 24,000 HP. This Weapon uses a powerful Flare attack and is also capable of casting a dangerous Quake attack. He has a compliment of other powerful magic as well, and a special battle theme.)
vs.
Evrae - Final Fantasy X (This "red carpet with teeth" has 32,000 HP and has a reputation as being a very tough boss. When attacking from a distance, Cid can use the airship to launch up to three sets of Guided Missile attacks, which is good, because you'll probably need all the help you can get. This boss has no elemental weaknesses, and is immuine to most statuses, though can be affected by Power Break. Uses attacks including Photon Spray, Swooping Scythe and Stone Breath. However, his big damage-dealer is Poison Breath, which he will use after inhaling. Not only that, but after a certain point, he uses Haste on himself and starts countering all attacks with Swooping Scythe.)
P.S.: Last chance for nominations. After this battle, I start mixing them in. Also, the Shrine seems to have stabilized, so unless it goes down again, two days for voting will be resumed after this battle.

Atma Weapon hangs on and wins by one vote, though not a huge amount of voting there. I think I'll go just one more before I start mixing in the nominations. Here's the next battle:
Fujin and Raijin - Final Fantasy VIII (You first face off against your former allies [of sorts] in Balamb. Actually, you face Raijin alone first, but after you defeat him, he gets a major second wind and comes in to join Fujin to fight you. Raijin uses a strong physical attack with his large rod, but Fujin's a bigger threat to watch out for, with Tornado magic and the possibility to use Sai, which can knock a character's HP down to 1. They show up again later in Lunatic Pandora, generally using the same bag of tricks, except this time Raijin is stronger and has more HP, whereas Fujin mostly just uses Zan.)
vs.
Nova Dragon - Final Fantasy IX (A dragon that shows up to trouble you before you can enter Memoria. Has over 50,000 and uses the all target Aerial Slash attack, the even more dangerous all-target Shockwave and a still stronger Tidal Wave attack. As if that isn't enough, he can sometimes counter attacks, though if you're lucky, he might sometimes use Psychokinesis, which damages only one character. One strategy is to try to put him to sleep using Quina's "Night" blue magic, but barring that, it's best to be well-prepared, particularly if you want to steal its Dragon Wrist or Grand Armor.)
I think I'll keep it at three days for now (and I should be sticking to that.)

Materia Keeper - Final Fantasy VII (A boss that troubles on Mt. Nibel. This boss is interesting in that basically it directly blocks your path. You can see it and so basically whenever you're ready, you can choose to initiate the fight. It's called the "Materia Keeper" because it is, in fact, guarding a materia-- you can pick up the Counter Attack materia once you beat it. It can cure itself with Cure2 and uses attacks including Hell Combo [a vicious physical attack] and the Enemy Skill called "Trine"-- your first chance to learn this one. If you're not well-prepared, you can sometimes still gain an advantage on it by using attacks that may deal a paralysis status to it, such as Choco/Mog or Cloud's Cross-slash limit. You win a Jem Ring for beating it-- oh, and it absorbs all fire-based attacks.)
vs.
Dr. Cid - Final Fantasy XII (He actually appears to trouble you twice, so let's cover them both. The first time around is in the Draklor Laboratory. He is protected by four Rooks which you have to take care of before you can even really go at him. He uses gun attacks and also can hit with a special called "S-27 Tokamak." He uses Haste and can also at one point put a Paling around himself. Later on you fight him at the top of the Pharos Lighthouse. He summons Famfrit in this battle once you wear away a fair portion of his HP. At that point, he's invincible, so you have to deal with Famfrit first. He also uses S-85 Cyclotrone" and "Gatling Gun" in this battle. Once you finally take him down, you gain the esper he used against you.)

The first time you face them, they're really just a warm-up act for Elvoret. You later face them in the Galbadian underground prison-- Biggs is pissed because he's been demoted to lieutenant-- but if you're even anywhere near halfway decent, there's nothing much they can do to you. Generally comic opponents.)
vs.
Zalamander - Final Fantasy X-2 (A massive lizard that takes up residence within a maze in the Thunder Plains. Hash to be defeated before Yuna can hold her conshert. Its attacks include a fiery breath, a massive tail smash and swiping attacks. Like other such bosses that share the general species-type of wandering monsters, it can go into Oversoul, the main difficulty with that being that its attacks become a lot less predictable and it also uses an attack called Crushing Tail that halves HP.)

Despite Biggs and Wedge being basically comic bosses, Zalamander only manages to scrape up one vote. So it's Biggs and Wedge on to Round 2.
As for us, we continue on with:
Phantom Train - Final Fantasy VI (Currently battling over in the VI Rumble as a location. Here, we consider it as a boss. As you fight it, it's essentially chasing you. You face it using a fairly strong physical attack party-- Sabin, Cyan and Shadow [if you still have him around.] Once you defeat it, you can finally disembark from the train-- something which most generally aren't lucky enough to do. All in all, it's not necessarily huge tough fight, though it is pretty plot-significant. Oh, and major weak point-- it's undead, so you can finish it using Phoenix Down, if that's your cup of tea.)
vs.
Yunalesca - Final Fantasy X (Deciding that summoners shall no longer be sacrificed for the Final Aeon, the party takes her on. She actually has three forms and can prove very tough. The main thing to watch out for is her final form's Mega Death-- which will kill your whole party unless you either have an aeon summoned at the time she goes to third form, or one or more of your party are in Zombie status. Other than that, she troubles you with all sorts of stuff, including dangerous counter-attacks, Hellbiter to turn your party into Zombies [and then casting Cura and Regen on Zombied characters to damage them] and a Mind Blast attack that causes status ailments. Oh, and have I mentioned she's one scary looking boss, especially in her latter forms?)

Gilgamesh - Final Fantasy V (Somewhat of a comic boss, though he can present something of a challenge during the battle with on the Big Bridge in particular. He shows up a few times throughout the game as ExDeath's crony. During one particularly amusing point, he steals a sword he thinks is Excalibur but is actually Excalipoor and so all his attacks are total crap. He just won the bosses edition over in the V Rumble.)
vs.
Gizamaluke - Final Fantasy IX (The boss you fight in the Grotto named after him. He uses Silent Voice to silence magic cast against him. He also uses Crash for strong physical damage and Water for powerful magic damage. He's also very fast, but you can affect Slow status on him. He has some interesting stuff to steal, such as the Magus Hat and Ice Staff. Strangely, another way to gain an advantage over this boss is to toss a tent at him. Carry Armor - Final Fantasy VII (Reno and Rude say they don't have time to fight you themselves when you come upon them at the Junon Underwater Reactor, so they summon this mechanized menace to fight you instead. It actually comes in three parts-- Carry Armor with 24,000 HP and right and left arms that each have 10,000 HP. The arms can counterattack attacks and they can even grab a character, putting that character out of the battle temporarily. Also, you have to watch out for Lapis Laser, which causes major damage on all your characters. It can be a dangerous boss, though if you've spent some time building up your characters [and with the Highwind, you have access to any of a number of sidequests before facing this boss] it could be fairly easy.)
vs.
Mandragoras - Final Fantasy XII (These are sort of unofficial marks and they can be fought as regular enemies later, but in any case, you have to fight them at one point, so they are bosses of a sort. There are five of them-- Onion Queen, Topstalk, Alarune King, Pumpkin Star and Mandragora Prince. In all, they have over 40,000 HP and just by sheer numbers, they can really trouble your party. They like to run around a lot, making them difficult to attack as an entire group. Each has a different element and each also can zap your characters with status ailments. Other than that, the main thing to watch out for is their strong physical attacks.)

Beatrix - Final Fantasy IX (She appears to fight your party three times before she has her change of heart. In each battle, she uses a number of powerful attacks, such as Shock and Thunder Strike. Finally, when either time runs out or you whittle down her HP, she will use either Stock Break or Climhazzard to reduce your party's HP to 1.)
vs.
Spectral Keeper - Final Fantasy X (This boss has 52,000 HP and shows up to take on your party once you solve the puzzle in the Zanarkand Ruins. You are on a series of platforms and it uses Glyph Mines to try to KO your party, but you have the Move command if a platform is mined. You can use aeons, but they won't last long because it can use Glyph Mine to finish them off and they can't move. Besides that, he uses Berserk Tail, which causes around 1,000 damage and puts a character in Berserk. This is dangerous, because he has a very powerful counterattack that can potentially hit your entire party depending upon where they are standing. That, and that a berserked character can't move to another circle. So, in large part, this is a battle of tactics.)

Beatrix, even if she is so over-rated, as frankly Spectral Keeper was very dull.

Spectral Keeper was quite annoying with his berserk attacks. I prefer Beatrix.

Spectral Keeper only manages to scrape up one vote, so it's Beatrix on to the next round.
Getting pretty close to that next round. Next up...
Demon Gate - Final Fantasy VII (This boss shows up as you're trying to escape the Temple of the Ancients. You're required to have Aeris/th for this battle since she's required for the visit to the Temple and she could be a liability of you haven't really used her character much. Of course, her Ultimate Weapon is found within the Temple. In any case, Demon Gate has 10,000 HP. He has a powerful physical attack that deals about 800 damage. What you really have to watch out for though, are Cave In and Demon Rush, which hit the entire party for powerful damage. Of course, heavy damage is good if you can survive it, as it fills up your limit bars. You can also use the Bahamut summon you found a little earlier to deal some powerful damage to start things off. You win a Gigas Armlet for beating this boss.)
vs.
Sorceress Edea (G-Garden Encounter) (You first fight her at the end of disc 1, but we'll just consider the Galbadia Garden encounter here, the one that brings Disc 2 to a close. You have to get through Seifer first to face her, but having already been defeated earlier, he's so weak that he's barely worth thinking about. Edea can have pretty high HP depending on your party's levels, though it maxes at 16,000. She uses some powerful magic this time around, but her best spell is Maelstrom. It hits for about 2/3 HP, but it's not a gravity based spell, so you get hit with it twice and you're done. You want to be sure to draw Alexander from her, as it's needed for another GF. Oh, and here's something interesting-- apparently you can lose this battle and the game will still continue, though you miss out on the AP for it.)
