If not for those early votes, it would have been a blowout. The FFXII rare monster scenario easily moves to the third round. And there's just one battle left before that. That battle is...

I think we have an extremely obvious winner here:

Level Up, Already! - 2
Thunder-Dodging - 13

The only reason I didn't end it early is because I don't like to have to update the FFV Rumble and this on the same evening if I don't have to -- I would have done it if there was a pure blowout, but there wasn't. Well, there was, but by the time I got to it, the first vote for the other had come in.

Besides, I enjoyed reading the comments on the "Thunder-Dodging." Personally, I actually mastered that one fairly quickly. But don't feel too envious -- it was the butterfly-catching thing that really screwed me -- that was the one I never finished.

And now it's third round time!

Here's what's left...

Buried in the Snow - Final Fantasy VII
Thunder-Dodging - Final Fantasy X
A Spiky Situation - Final Fantasy X
Somebody Save Shelinda - Final Fantasy X and X-2
Clasko is a Failure in Life - Final Fantasy X and X-2
It's Rare. Really Rare - Final Fantasy XII

And here's the first battle:

Buried in the Snow - Final Fantasy VII (Holzoff: "30 Years ago, Yamski and I took this cliff on to see what was on the other side. But, we weren't prepared for it. We did expect the temperature to be low but... On that cliff, there's always a biting cold wind. The cold air lowers your body temperature. Yamski, was below me. He cut his own rope... ...and I didn't even notice...")

vs.

Clasko is a Failure in Life - Final Fantasy X and X-2 (Clasko: "I don't know where I belong. I've spent my whole life drifting from one failure to the next. But, I can't keep doing this forever. I know that there's a place for everyone in this world-even someone as sad and pathetic as me.")

With that in mind, we've reached the end of the third round. We're really getting down to the wire here, and we end the round with this battle:

Thunder-Dodging (The quest to dodge 200 lightning bolts and gain the needed Sigil for Lulu's Celestial Weapon caused frustration and anger. It's been a top pick throughout this edition and could very well lock up the "win," as such.)

vs.

And there we have it. Buried in the Snow not all that irritating by comparison and therefore not moving on the final. That leaves our final battle as...

Thunder-Dodging - Final Fantasy X (Seemingly the ultimate in irritation and aggravation to many. 200. 200 stinking lightning bolts needed to gain the Sigil required to power up Lulu's Celestial Weapon. No wonder Rikku hates the Thunder Plains.)

vs.

It's Rare. Really Rare - Final Fantasy XII (80 rare monsters? Absurd conditions like them only being available during certain times on the clock, or having a certain percentage, or having to do one before you can do the other? Or kill 255 within a section and then it might show up? It's easy to see why someone might simply choose to hang the whole thing and not complete it.)

Thunder-Dodging seems to have already been declared the victor -- but could we have an upset? You never quite know with these rumbles. Voting will be open for two days, regardless of how the votes are cast.

Hmm, the Thunder-Dodging is definitely feasible lol, it just takes a long time to do it xD. Just like finding and killing all of the rare monsters does. Some of them are, actually, though yeah, perhaps not many. Still, if we're going to recycle something, I want to recycle something that's likely to have a different outcome, and where we can potentially use a lot of different things that weren't used before, while still having a good battle.

That was the very first edition ever. The list of everything that's been done is on the first page. That said, character themes could be recycled -- there are ones that I don't think we included originally.

Yeah, you know, "Tifa's Theme (Tifa's Seventh Heaven)," "Mog," "Relm," "Salamander (Amarant)'s Theme,) etc.

Tifa's Theme was the winner of the original. Though the rumble wasn't nearly as well organized at the time, and there were only a very limited number of voters. So maybe it is time for character themes again.

Well, all right, we'll do it again anyway. Tifa's Seventh Heaven and Red XIII's Theme are ineligible, as they are previous winners. Anything else is up for grabs. Whatever Terra's Theme is (I'm not sure if it's just called that or not), I'd like to nominate also.
Character themes for FFVI are simply called the name of the character, i.e. "Terra," "Mog" "Umaro," etc. I believe it's the only Final Fantasy game there is where every one of the playable characters has a theme (and that's a lot), though I could be wrong. That's because they all play during the ending sequence.

:( Sorry.

Also question, Isnt Mystery Sword Beatrix's theme? Or is that just for her battles.
Mystery Sword is her battle theme. Her actually character theme is considered to be "Rose of May," although for some reason it's also often listed as "Loss of Me."

=O nobody nominated Sephiroth's theme?
Sephiroth has a theme?

I thought "Wild West" was actually The Veldt theme?
No, all I was trying to get at was that Shadow's Theme feels to me like something that somebody might hear if they were at a saloon somewhere within the real "wild west," or at least, it sounds like something someone might set a TV scenario about that to.

All right...

Shadow - 8

So Seymour's Theme wins, but it was actually closer than I thought. Thanks for the turnout!

Steiner's Theme really fits his character well, as well as the scenes it's used in. One of my favourite parts of IX is when you're controlling Marcus and Steiner trying to escape from you prison cages, and this theme plays.

Cait Sith's Theme is a competent enough tune, but doesn't really challenge ol' Steiner on this one.

Maybe we can have a better battle with...

Seto's Theme (The Great Warrior Seto) - Final Fantasy VII (As far as I know, this theme only plays once, when Bugenhagen reveals to Red XIII the truth about his father Seto. It's a slowed-down, tender version of the Cosmo Canyon theme. I think it might also play on Disc 3 when and if you revisit Bugenhagen and he reveals that he's dying.)

We have a tie-breaker situation here. Since it's the first round, I'm going to leave it to Sudden Death. First vote within the next 24 hours from somebody that hasn't already voted on it wins it. If none after 24, then I toss a coin.

Rufus's Theme (Rufus Welcoming Ceremony) - Final Fantasy VII (This lively theme was featured in Junon and was apparently liked so well that it was reprised in Final Fantasy IX by the Tantalus performers. It's very lively, but considering that it kept playing over and over in Junon, it could easily get on one's nerves if they heard it too long, I would think. Oh, and it has lyrics.)

The next battle is...

Relm - Final Fantasy VI (Like most other VI themes, it plays when you first meet her. I believe it also plays when she shows up during that one battle with Ultros and says that she's gonna paint uncle Ulty's portrait. It's a sweet theme, but some have complained that it doesn't fit her character, and I've known others to complain that's boring. So how will it fare here?)

vs.
