Still don't feel like drawing up the full list, but it will definitely be posted soon. Next battle...

Gold-Digging - Final Fantasy VII (As in digging in your heels to do all the things needed to acquire a gold chocobo. Racing and racing and waiting and breeding, oy vey.)

vs.

I am the Queen of Cards - Final Fantasy VIII (The Queen of Cards monitors the various card game rules throughout the regions. You can play her for rare cards, but she will move about the world, forcing you to chase her down. You can acquire all these cards on Disc 4 instead.)

She's a cheating whore for having her own damn complicated set of rules!

How the hell are you supposed to memorize every single set of rules from every one of the cities you've visited with other players in the Garden constantly wanting to request you play by a certain set of rules like from Galbadia.

I really do hate this sidequest so much, the limit break rewards from it don't even sound worthwhile at all.

A fairly easy win for the Card Queen quest of FFVIII.

Next is...

Bored on the Beaches - Final Fantasy IX (Take your gold chocobo to every beach in the world in order to learn a restorative ability that can then be used at any beach. You won't get the ability until you've hit every single one.)

vs.

My Precious Noojie-Woojie - Final Fantasy X-2 (Turns out the villainous Leblanc has a soft spot, and that's Nooj of the Youth League. Yeah, she'll do anything for her precious Noojie Woojie, but how much will we do before we fall asleep from boredom of hearing about it and the controller falls out of our hands?)

Defend the Condor Fort! - Elena! - Final Fantasy VII (And win lots of lame prizes. Honestly, did we really need this? Sure, the game is kinda fun, but the prizes you got for coming back over and over were generally crap, and it was tedious to do so.)

vs.

Somebody Save Shelinda - Final Fantasy X and X-2 (Actually, somebody save us. From her boring subplot in which she's all trampled on by everybody for her belief in Yevon, then somehow later on she becomes the head of the guard. And next is...

Forever Rachel - Final Fantasy VI (Optional sidequest in which Locke attempts to save his lost love, Rachel. He isn't able to do anything at first, but ends up in the Phoenix Cave eventually. He finds Phoenix, which he tries to use to save her, but only revives her long enough for her to tell him he must move on with his life.)

vs.

Normally if an entrant loses by blowout, that's really bad for it, but in this case, it's really good. Nobody was all that bored by "Forever Rachel," on the other hand, they were apparently bored out of their minds by the cactuar games that went on in "A Spiky Situation." And so it goes on to the next round.

Next up is...

Tetra-Disaster - Final Fantasy IX (After FFVIII's Triple Triad, a game that was generally enjoyed in most quarters, who wanted Tetra Master? This game was not only insanely difficult to figure out, but what was worse was that for the most part, there was no real reward. And to top that all off, if you were actually crazy enough to play until you reached the top rank, you were rewarded with a glitch.)

vs.

It's Rare. Really Rare - Final Fantasy XII (FFXII features a sidequest that allows you to hunt 80 rare monsters. Well, some are simply "rare," others are actually unique. But with insane requirements like "20% chance to show up if your clock is between ten and twenty, etc. etc.," who could possibly figure all this out without a guide? And if that's not bad enough, you have to complete it in order to unlock certain rewards.)

No love for FFXII's rare game hunting. I feel that -- I'm currently right in the thick of it, got three to go. That 256 one wasn't so bad, though, at least it showed up once I met the requirements without having to do any stupid hunting.

On we go...

Level Up, Already! - Final Fantasy V (Leveling up is usually a great way to quickly boost the power of your characters. But leveling up in this game was insane. It generally took way too long to level up your characters. What was worse was that past about 40 or 50 or so, there was really no point. There were no bosses, even optional ones, that couldn't be beaten at those levels. And past that point, it moved beyond insane to completely mucho luco, because there were no good enemies to farm for EXP.)

vs.

Tobli, Yup! Yup! - Final Fantasy X-2 (Yup, yup, yup. You meet this guy in Chapter 1, and he immediately drags your party into all kinds of sidequests ranging from semi-boring to out-and-out snoozefests. He was kinda odd-looking in a fun way and had a funny way of speaking, but did we really care ultimately what happened to him and his musishun crew?)

I think the results here are rather clear...

Vwao! - 5
You're a Turks, Elena! - 10

A bit closer than I thought, but "You're a Turks, Elena!" chosen as more boring, sails through.

Not all that much left in this round. Next up...

Frogs = Zzz - Final Fantasy IX (In which you control a fat Qu named Quina while trying to catch bouncy frogs across the world. Needed to power up Frog Drop, one of only a few attacks in the game that could do guaranteed 9999, as well as to gain ability to fight Quale and end Quina's subplot. An end that couldn't come too soon for some, but may not have come if they dozed off from trying to catch those frogs.)

vs.

Thunder-Dodging - Final Fantasy X (Okay, lightning dodging actually. Another Celestial Weapon quest. You could get various prizes, but the only one really worth bothering with was the Sigil for Lulu's weapon. And it required a really annoying amount of dodges -- 200. Miss even one, and you had to start over.)

Denny, your vote doesn't match your reasoning -- you're supposed to be voting for the one you find most boring. I'm going to consider your vote invalid until you clarify your reasoning, and I'm going to end this by blowout, anyway, if one more vote for the dodging comes in.

Thunder-Dodging - 10

Next up...

You're Hot, No, You're Cold! - Final Fantasy IX (Final Fantasy IX's Chocobo Hot and Cold, in which you run around from place to place trying to find treasures, and [perhaps] being generally bored.)

vs.

Match-maker, Maybe - Final Fantasy X-2 (In which you bore yourself throughout the entire game, trying to find people willing to date some dude in the Calm Lands.)

And that does end the first round. Let's see what's left for the second one:

Level Up, Already! - Final Fantasy V
You're a Turks, Elena! - Final Fantasy VII
Buried in the Snow - Final Fantasy VII
I am the Queen of Cards - Final Fantasy VIII
The Quizzes of Doom - Final Fantasy IX
Thunder-Dodging - Final Fantasy X
A Spiky Situation - Final Fantasy X
Somebody Save Shelinda - Final Fantasy X and X-2
My Precious Noojie-Woojie - Final Fantasy X-2
Match-maker, Maybe - Final Fantasy X-2
Clasko is a Failure in Life - Final Fantasy X and X-2
It's Rare. Really Rare - Final Fantasy XII

Just a reminder that the list above is only for reference and the updated results are kept within the first post of the thread, for your safety and my convenience. :D

First up:

You're a Turks, Elena! - Final Fantasy VII (Elena: "Oh, thank you very much...! I never expected you'd to come help......" Reno: "Elena, don't act so weak. You're a Turks!" Elena: "Y... Yes, sir!" Barret: "Never thought you'd come an' help us..." Rude: "......" Reno: "Yes... this is Reno. Yes... Yes... I'll get on it right away?" Elena: "Was that the company?" Reno: "Yeah, they want us to find Cloud..." Rude: "Are we on...?" Reno: "No, today we're off duty." Yuffie: "Hey-- who cares about that!? Get---- me----- down----!")

vs.

Clasko is a Failure in Life - Final Fantasy X and X-2 (Clasko: "The chocobos found it. They seem to have scented one of their own kind!" Paine: "Well?" Yuna: "Well what?" Paine: "'I bet there's an amazing chocobo inside.' 'But wimpy little me can't go find it myself.' Is that it?" Clasko: "Yes! That's exactly right!" Paine: "See?")

As we go into this next round, just another general reminding that you're voting for the one you consider to be more boring/irritating/annoying, etc.

Closer than I thought it would be, but the Clasko scenario wins by several votes. Next up is...

The Quizzes of Doom - Final Fantasy IX (Pop Quiz! True/False - "Fossil Roo joins Treno and Alexandria" ... "The Burkmeia Cable Cares were built 87 years ago." ... "Prima Vista means 'Love at first sight.'" And so on, so on...)

vs.

Somebody Save Shelinda - Final Fantasy X and X-2 (Shelinda: "Well after the Calm came, the temples were in decline. At first, I thought the best thing I could do would be to help the temples get back on their feet. But everyone just ordered me around. I got tired of it." Yuna: "You couldn't just tell them 'no'?" Shelinda: "That's the part of me I wanted to change! I made up my mind to leave the temple and come here to Luca. They needed people for this, and they asked me to help...so, here I am." Paine: "Another job you were 'asked' to do?" Shelinda: "I suppose nothing about me has really changed after all. I gotta run! My next assignment is about to start. See you later, Lady Yuna!" Paine: "She complains, but you can tell she enjoys it." Rikku: "Sounds a bit like Yunie, don't you think?" Yuna: "Really? Rikku: "Dr. P, care to give us your opinion?" Paine: "The hardest person to know is yourself." Yuna: "Hey, cut that out!")

We have a higher proportion of X and X-2 ones, so I'm going ahead and getting another out of the way. Cast your votes!

As for the trading rules, they gradually spread out from a region where the card game is most popular. Of course, this region can change constantly depending on your course and actions. Buried in the Snow - Final Fantasy VII ("So where did we land? Looks like we've jumped pretty far... ...It sure is cold. We'll freeze if we stay here any longer.")

vs.

My Precious Noojie-Woojie - Final Fantasy X-2 (Shinra: "Hm, I'm getting signals from the CommSphere we dropped in that hole, but I can't seem to connect. Leblanc: "Enough, little boy. Move aside! ... See? It connected." Shinra: "Inconceivable!" Gippal: "Impressive machina! An invention like this could change the world. Whoever came up with this is a genius." Shinra: "He's got good taste." Gippal: "Guess I'm a genius, too, for fixing it! Anybody home?" Yuna: "Gippal!" Shinra: "I don't think he can hear us." Gippal: "No response. Hm." Nooj: "Some genius." Leblanc: "Noojie!")

Oh, BTW, the Final Fantasy V Rumble (Classics section) has started. The category, music, has been chosen, and it's all looking to be quite exciting. However, so far, there doesn't seem to be much activity, so if you're interested, head on over and cast your vote, and nominations are also appreciated.

Buried in the Snow - 8
My Precious Noojie-Woojie - 4

People were definitely way irritated by both, but Buried in the Snow was the definite choice here. Its irritating factor is so strong that it earns it a spot in the third round.
