I think it would be better without the "1". I know it's in the title but it looks stupid. It's a stupid title. They should've simply named it "Battlefield", like they do with some movie reboots; just use the same title.

I will admit it throws the horizontal balance off when I place it in the center. Seems like the title 'leans' to the left a bit.

Now how in the hell could I make MusicBee look like that? That's exactly what I was looking to do, how I want it to look, but I could never figure the damn thing out.

So I can't seem to figure out how to backup my layout, otherwise I'd just send you my setup. But anyway, as soon as you open the newest version of MusicBee (3 I think) you should see something like this (After you scanned for your music library):

<a href="http://imageupload.co.uk/image/B0CD">

By the red guy, make sure Music is selected and not playlists or anything else. By the blue fella, change Tracks to Album Covers.

That should be it, then. Click on an album to get the fancy expanded view. The sorting may be out of whack (albums not grouped properly). Go to the very top left MusicBee name -> Edit -> Preferences -> Sorting/Grouping and see what you can do. Let me know if you need help with this part, it was a bit of a chore for me.

Also, let me know if you need help with the layout, since I removed the left most album panel.

Finally, I'm using the Arsenic theme: MusicBee -> View -> Skins -> Dark -> Arsenic. Again, lemme know if you need help with anything else.

Here are my custom covers for the Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
Music by Alexandre Desplat Michael Giacchino.

I might be a bit early with these, since there's no information on the soundtrack or it's release date, however I was in Star Wars mood and Rogue One was the obvious choice to do.
I don't think the posters for the film are that inspiring, and the lack of artwork quickly makes it a rather dull project to work on.

So, for now, this was the best I could come up with:

Well, I didn't have the original in 3000px resolution...

Fortunately the source image I used of the Death Star was HUGE (), so I recreated the original (this time in 3000px) and I also tried to replicate the color more accurately so that it now looks like the image (https://www.wired.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/RogueOneGif00.gif) I've taken inspiration from :)

Thank you, you're most welcome my friend :-D

I wish I could recreate landscape photos into square ones without losing important elements! tintacle you're truly as master of photoshop!
You're too kind! :-D

I know what you mean, way too often did I have to scrap an idea for a cover, containing a beautiful piece of source artwork, because the aspect ratio didn't fit into the unfortunate space limitations of an album cover square.

Luckily the Death Star (perhaps, the actual main villain of Rogue One?) is a sphere, and EVERYONE (http://i.imgur.com/fTTBLia.gif) knows what the Death Star looks like anyway, so it does fit rather well into a cover square ;)

Also, here's a couple more for Rogue One!

For the first two I wanted to emphasize, one thing director Gareth Edwards is brilliant at (e.g. Godzilla), showcasing the scale/size of the Death Star, so it was critical for me that the logo and the text appear small in comparison...

And the last one is a simple version of the, in my opinion, most interesting of the character posters (http://www.starwars.com/news/rogue-one-posters).

Again, also added to original post (Thread 90457).

Again, the black and white version is more effective for a film like this.

Also, the placement of both Errol Flynn, the logo and text is spot on here! :)

No, not always. Reznor for example has scored Quake, the old ID game back in the nineties.
And Ross has some sole composing credits too, e.g. The Book of Eli or most recently The Journey, the story campaign from FIFA 17.

clonemaster, that cover is badass in its simplicity.

@heidl, I think it's Conduit Pro Bold, according to WhattheFont, and it does really look the part, although with more letter spacing.

But then I took the Identifont (http://www.identifont.com/) questionaire and eventually FF DIN (https://www.myfonts.com/fonts/fontfont/ff-din/webfont_preview.html) matched best.

gururu

Certainly not as large as on the official, but perhaps at 1/3 or a 1/4 the size it would operate as an accent (since yellow works well with both grey and blue).

http://www.houseind.com/fonts/neutraface/viewfonts

Don't be fooled heidl, they look like two different fonts to me. The bold one is Rams Bold. Viggo's first name might be Neutraface but the second one is Rams Bold (https://www.fonts.com/font/tipografiaramis/rams/bold).

gururu
11-07-2016, 01:46 PM
Actually, Dave, Neutraface is the closest I've seen yet in matching the G, the R and the E.

And I'm still trying to match this one; you'll get all san serif approximates, but nothing thus far that mixes sans serif uppercase with serif lower case:

Even attempted font matching just the lowercase, and still nada.

And… guess what? Seems it falls under the Neutra family as well.

heidl
11-07-2016, 03:47 PM

The black version on top is my recreation using the following fonts:

VIGGO = Neutraface 2 Text Book
MORTENSEN = Neutra Text Bold

---------- Post added at 08:47 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:35 AM ----------

And this is Neutraface 2 Text Bold italic:

Btw I had to juggle with the kerning from -25 to +35 only within that single sentence. I just don't get those professionals and their odd kerning decisions. Also they always seem to use metric kerning instead of optical and I have no idea why.

gururu
11-07-2016, 03:59 PM

Is there a thread for "SULLY" ? If so, can someone direct me to it? If I search on the Shrine, I get "no threads found" and when I google it, I get a million posts because SOMEONE decided naming himself after a Pixar character... ;) That alone wouldn't be a problem but everyone uses his nickname rather than his full name :p

These are my alternate covers for Goldsmith's newest Deluxe Edition of 'The Omen'. I liked the official Varese cover but I don't like that it doesn't leave enough space to the borders of the frame. So I attempted to correct this... and it didn't work out as well as I had hoped. While I was at it, I also re-created the very first cover (with an added DE-banner) and did a third, inspired by the TV series poster.

Sorry for the size, I don't know how to embed small preview pictures which you can then click only to reveal a bigger version.

EDIT: thanks to Clonemaster, it now works!

EDIT: had to screenshot it. :p

To decide if you want the thumbnail to be displayed as a small, medium, or large, you must enter 's', 'm', or 'l' right before the file extension.

Then it'll look like this

I don't think he did. He doesn't strike me as the type to compose without picture, but then he was on the film for awhile. Who knows. Maybe, if he did compose anything, he'll repurpose it in Valerian. At least we'll still get a Desplat sci-fi score.
