Hi guys!!!!! I am back!

I recently saw Earth To Echo...the score was fantastic!!! So...covers!
These covers were a BITCH to make, because I had to remake the movie's logo entirely from scratch...I couldn't find a good transparent one anywhere! The 're-creation' I ended up making is not entirely exact, but extremely close.

Here you guys go! I personally like #1 the best, but you be the judge. More ETE covers are coming soon!

Unlike most people, I actually liked Iron Man 3 a lot! The "Big Change" didn't bother me a bit.

As far as the FYC, I'm not sure what the difference is. I just know that the FYC is out there... So I went ahead and made covers for it if it ever gets leaked.

DONE!!!!! You'll find 2 versions on here, each with either bold or non-bold for the side text. For the producer credits and stuff, I wasn't sure whether it was Steve 'Jalley' or 'Jolley', because the photo of the original record still had the sleeve on it so it was unclear. I'm sure you know better than me which is correct...I put 'Jolley'. Lemme know if that needs to be changed! Anyways, here you go!

WAIT IT'S WRONG HOLD ON

WOW! Many thanks for these!

Yes, it's Jolley, I also had that other picture, but I thought it would be to small to read since they are both pretty poor quality. It would be good to have 2 versions one with notes and one without so if you have time to add them later that would be great.

Actually, I think it would be better to have a reverse for the front sleeve that could contain both the notes and the film credits info that the LP back cover has, it could be positioned on the reverse of the front cover - what you would see if you opened up a CD case, the same size as the front cover?

The only thing that (to me) is off is the main logo size and placement. For me is should always be quite a bit bigger than any other text (e.g. original motion picture soundtrack) and also (in most cases) in the center area of the image. Just my $0.2. :)

I agree. Maybe try making the logo a bit larger and putting it in the middle (chest height for the humans and above the raccoon's head). Then you could move "Original Motion Picture Soundtrack" to the top.

http://img3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20080531011426/nationaltreasure/images/f/f5/National_Treasure_Logo.JPG

Specifications:

Logo-only
Background can be anything (maybe the Declaration of Independence?)
Complete Motion Picture Score at the top.
Music by Trevor Rabin at the bottom.

This is for my soon-to-be-released Complete Score, so whoever does one I like will get full credit on the thread. :)

Thanks. I was actually thinking more along the lines of the declaration from the poster, not just a generic photo of the real document. Like this:

And if the logo could be larger that would be great. Also, could you use a more 'regular' font?

I'm just throwing this out there as a general request, so anyone else is free to have a go. I have to say, I'd love to see what Hack3rman could come up with... ;)

I like it! Thanks! I just wish there was a way to remove Nic Cage (not that there's anything wrong with Nic Cage)... but just the declaration behind the logo would be awesome.

You mean is it different to the sessions? Yes, it's more complete. It has a few cues from the DVD Rip (which we all once had before the sessions emerged) which are not on the sessions (oddly enough), and and a couple other cues too. The DVD Rip tracks have virtually no FX, and are perfectly listenable to. You'll see when I release it. :)

Can anyone else think of another way to do this?

Sweet! I could swear my DVD rip had SFX. Specifically, the scene when Ian walks out into the street and picks up the Declaration after Ben and Abigail dodged the truck. There were other parts, but I deleted that shit when amh posted the complete score. This is one of my favorite Rabin scores (Gone in 60 Seconds is my Grail out of all his work), so I'm looking forward to your version :D

Yep - that's the same DVD Rip I had. That cue did have a lot of SFX, as did "Ian's True Colours" and "Shaft". I was so insanely excited to get the sessions!! It is definitely my favourite Rabin score, closely followed by his underrated score to the sequel, which is so nearly as good (but not quite!). I'm hoping to release my version in the next week or so, hopefully with some artwork that will make it stand out just that bit more... ;)

Wow. Just wow. This is perfect. Absolutely perfect. Thank you so much!! :D

If I could say one thing (although I feel terrible saying anything against such a masterpiece!), it would be that the Declaration looks almost... too clean. Would it be possible to use a picture of what it looks more like on the poster? And also to make inside the stone arch a bit darker? Just a couple of thoughts... other than that, WOW.

Having the logo (undistorted) on the starry background in a square shape. Basically, somehow adding more starry background to the top and bottom to make it a square. Then with "Complete motion Picture Score" at the top, and "Music Composed By Thomas Newman" at the bottom...

Complete coincidence, but I've just watched WALL-E again! A friend who's staying over for a couple of nights requested to watch it, as she hadn't seen it yet...! :D I had no idea I'd be watching it again tonight! Good timing for the fantastic covers... The film gets better every time I see it. Master filmmaking, at its best.

(Btw, does anybody have any idea who composed the score to BURN-E? Whoever they were, they weren't credited in the credits...)

WALL•E is my favorite Pixar movie. I think it's the best out of them all (despite it's left-wing agenda about the whole global warming / "earth is dying bullshit) and it makes me feel good every time I watch it. It's also my favorite Thomas Newman score.

I think John Van Tongeren may be responsible for BURN•E. Back in the summer of 2008 when the film was released, there was a small EP on iTunes called WALL•E + EVE (Music Inspired by Disney•Pixar's WALL•E) and I bought it. There's also tracks by Dave Palmer, Kari Kimmel & Marco Marinangeli

On second thought, I would suggest moving the constellation in the upper sphere down a bit. I guess this is supposed to be Vega and thus a crucial element which should be visible in its entirety.

Although I didn't found it on DeviantArt.

Well I'm not that good at photoshop :)
Moving the sphere down, seems a little bit complicated since I would have to cut it out.

Or could resize it, then it would fit.
My source image wasn't big enough to keep the quality. I saw on DeviantArt that the artist uploaded it in a really high resolution. But you can't download it.
Well it was a quick work :D

I really like the idea, but it's very difficult to make out the logo, particularly when it's only album art size.

I was just gonna request Inception. But also these covers for TDK. Obviously with correct labeling. Not OST, no "with SFX", just Complete Motion Picture Score

Haha, yeah, well maybe one day I will. I'm definitely planning on seeing the rest of the Marvel bunch (I love Iron Man so much!!), but I have to say Batman has never really interested me, even though so many people rave about how good Nolan's films are. Why are they so good.....probably the script, the score, the acting, the cast, the production design, the cinematography and use of practical effects (which is how it should be done). Have you never seen a Nolan film? They're just very realistic, they feel so real. You've never seen The Dark Knight like this before. You cannot possibly compare Nolan's Batman to Burton's Batman (although personally I like Burton's Batman better because it's what I grew up with, Jack Nicholson will always be THE Joker, and Micheal Keaton is the best Batman). I don't know what else to say other than you don't know what you're missing, because you really don't. They are not campy and corny like Burton's Batman, they are very serious and dark.

Regard Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice (which WB actually just pulled from the May 2016 date in a chickenshit move because of Cap 3), nobody knows why it'll be Batman vs Superman. But I doubt it'll really be a 2+hr movie of the two of them trying to destroy each other. There will be some resolution and I'm assuming it's all leading up to Justice League. At this point, I'm still not invested in the film and couldn't care less about the release date as I simply cannot get past Batfleck

But we are getting it sooner! March 25th!

And we do know why it will be Batman v Superman, because it's heavily based on The Dark Knight Returns graphic novel. In which Batman and Superman face off in an epic battle!

What exactly is it about them that's so good? And how come we'll soon be seeing Superman vs Batman?! I thought Batman was supposed to be the 'good guy'...??

Because Clark and Bruce are so opposite in their ideals. Bats will do anything, break any rule to get **justice** despite criminal procedure. Supes likes to play by rules. Bats don't do rules so they never see eye to eye. Also, in Frank Miller's Return of the Dark Knight (the original graphic novel), Superman has become an agent of governmental enforcement, including supporting America's troops abroad and is tasked with bringing down Batman, who has just come out of retirement, framed for joker's death and is considered a rogue, a criminal. This adds to their normal tension and leads to an inevitable showdown. I figure elements of that will surface, but Wonder Woman is confirmed to be in the film too, and I heard whispers of an Aquaman appearance. Typically, these guys go at each other for a while until a true enemy rises, they join forces and fight with a united front. It is just the basic formula.

Batman Begins and The Dark Knight are worth seeing. Skip the last one though. They are good psychological dramas in their own right. But I don't care for the portrayal of Bats still. He is nowhere near the detective or fighter that is portrayed in the comics. The DC animated movies so far are far more faithful to the true essence of Batman. But, The Dark knight is infinitely watchable for the Joker alone, and like I said, it is great drama.

Funny you should mention that - I watched an animated Marvel one "Iron Man vs Hulk" recently. It wasn't that good tbh.

I haven't seen any DC films, like Man of Steel. I think I'd like to see MoS though. How does it compare to the other (older) Superman movies?

DAKoftheOTA
08-07-2014, 02:35 PM
It's like comparing Burton's Batman with Nolan's, you can't. You know the Family Guy clip that mocks Superman? The one where he peels the cellophane "S" off his chest and throws it at one of Zod's guys and it wraps around him, temporarily "distracting" him? Well, that clip actually does it justice, because that actually happens in the movie. Sure, they were great when I was younger because there was nothing else except Batman, but by today's standards they're incredibly corny and laughable. They only part of those films that's stood the test of time is John Williams' amazing score, which John Ottman pretty much copied and pasted for Superman Returns.

It depends on what your idea of Superman is. Man of Steel is a 180 degree shift in storytelling and style. Superman Returns was an attempt to modernize the original Reeves films while maintaining look and fitting in. Man of Steel jetisons all of that. I only really have issue with the end, though there was not really a lot of wiggle room left by then. Visually it's quite appealing.

I have made it clear upon first listening to this score that it is - for me - the worst thing I have ever ever heard, ever. Wailing death cries of vultures are more pleasant to listen to. I have maintained this since the thing was first posted here. The only score I hate as much as this is the equally garbage Inception. On the thread where this was FIRST posted I tell folks I download it just to have the pleasure of deleting it. I tried to delete it at least once a week. Just for good measure. I....HATE...THIS...SCORE. I have never wanted to even think about liking the score. I do agree the likelyhood of appreciating any score increases upon a hearing of the complete thing. But that was a while ago. I have seen the movie now, and heard the in film score now. The movie DOES increase appreciation, in that one can put it on mute. Thus relieved of the fingernails on blackboard drabble called score, the visuals are peasant enough. I hope I am not underselling how much I want to stick sewing needles in my ears upon hearing the first anemic note played.....

I think I need to give this a listen.

:) I think you might like it actually. A lot of the like it/hate it for this score seemed to fall along distinct age lines. I use hyperbole discussing it, obviously. Just as with Inception, I know a lot of folks like it, and it is reported to have stirred emotional responses in several, which is good. I do not care for it, but I have not really cared for about 90 percent of recent scores I hear, deleting most. I was just trying to be humorous while making a point is all.

I am sort of on middle ground about Zimmer. I enjoy a lot of his work, but most his scores that I REALLY like are collaborations (Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, Kung Fu Panda, The Rock etc...) The Last Samurai is pretty awesome though, and the first 3 POTC are always a fun listen. :)

I Adore The Score To POTC: At World's End I Was Really Let Done Both Score And Film Itself With POTC: On Stranger Tides.

And Of Course The Dark Knights But Other Wise I Am A Bit Unsure Of Zimmer I Do Agree Man of Steel Was A Bit Of A Let Down.

Interesting... I haven't seen any of them all the way through (just bits and pieces on TV). Everyone I know who has seen them though felt that each one got progressively worse. haha Maybe I should find time to watch them and see for myself. lol :)

Well I Like 3 & 2 For The Davy Jones Story Arc (Plus The Huge Battle in 3) 1 Was Okay For Me (A Bit More Based on the Attraction In The Park) 4 Before I Saw I Thought Would Be Good As It Had Blackbeard & Fountain of Youth But I Thought Was Pointless (The Only Thing That Makes All 4 Is Of Course ..... Johnny Depp)

But Each to Their Own ;) Also Ask Anyone On Here They Will Tell You I'm Wired

I feel like people usually say the first film in a trilogy or "saga" or "collection" or whatever you want to call it, is the best / their favorite. For me, Transformers will always be my favorite. I love the sequels, but the first one is special to me for a lot of reasons. I can't decide on which Pirates I like best. Maybe Black Pearl, because that's where it all started and that's where (mostly) all the themes originate from.

I agree. I have seen most of the current / popular films, but there's still a lot I need to see - mainly classics. I've seen a good portion of the classics, but there's still plenty to see.

Might depend on your age. As I get older I see fewer and fewer new movies. I saw maybe 5 movies that came out in the last year, and only 1 in theaters. It happens.

No cover needed. :) I saw the first 20-25 minutes, but wasn't interested. Free DVD to whomever wants it.. otherwise, it'll make a nice coaster.

Wall-E is another movie that bored me to no end. But so many here seem to like it. Or maybe it's the nifty art (that makes pretty covers)..maybe that's

There was just something about Wall-E that struck a chord with me, and it wasn't the environmental message. Just something. I can't quite explain it. Thomas Newman's score is definitely a huge part for me. It's just so perfect for the film.
