A technical query about bootlegs for Shirley Walker's Flash scores. Aside from the LLL limited release, I had 2 boots. One was "The Circus Episode", and one was "Trial of the Trickster/Captain Cold. I seem to have lost this one. All but 3 tracks anyway. When I looked at those three, they matched three tracks in the "Circus Episode" boot, which has all unnamed tracks. So, I am questioning whether there are in faxct 2 different boots. And if not, why would it be called The Circus Episode, and not Trial of the Trickster.....?
I don't know the answer, but I can say that there is neither an episode called 'The Circus Episode,' nor does there appear to have been an episode set at a circus. So that implies whoever wrote the tracklist was an idiot.

The boot titled "The Circus Episode" has no titles, only track 1, 2..etc. My other boot was called Trial of the Trickster/Captain Cold. I seem to have lost part of it. It DID have named tracks. The tracks I have left I was able to match exactly to the unnamed Circus tracks, which leads me to believe they were the same boot with different names. Trial of the Trickster seems much more appropriate to the names I have/had.
---------- Post added at 04:14 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:53 PM ----------
Listening to the album, the Trickster's themes are all very "circus" in flavor. Perhaps it was listened to, and assumed to be set within a circus episode? If I did not know the tracks that are named from Trial of the Trickster, I'd assume it **was** a circus thing. :)

Still wondering if a better sourced promo of TEACHING MRS TINGLE has surfaced. A promo was posted in 2009, but the quality was seriously in barely listenable territory. The promo was different than the OST. It featured much more of the score that wasn't presented on the OST. I do hope someone can track down a better quality version.

I'm guessing that no-one else thought it a good enough score to actually buy it.
I bought it in an earlier phase of my life, but whether I find it again or not before I die is in question. I live in an aladdin's cave of sorts.
I've seen your many requests for it over time here. You need to get a life.

Please, could anyone help me to find a high resolution or at least higher of this score? Bert Stern: Original Madman - Starr Parodi & Jeff Fair
In worse case, if it's impossible to track down, could someone please make a custom one from this material?

I think it should be quite good but I prefer the original cover unless you're pro at making covers ;)
I'll post the score later today but I do not have a good cover for it and I believe this is one of my best discoveres this year, I love this score.
Here's a preview of the score on their site ->

Edit: I'll try post in the cover thread.

Note:I need your help on this mess, folks!
A lot of the tracks have no endings, some seem to transition into other cues. Maybe someone who knows this show can identify the correct order and which episodes they belong to.
The tracks were lossy on my disc (which is why I converted them to MP3 with LAME and a variable bitrate. But looking at the quality of the artwork, this probably is a bootleg,
so who knows if the original promo had the tracks in lossless quality.

Does anyone (oh boy, here we go again...) have a copy of Play Me A Movie: Piano Music To Accompany A Silent Movie (
http://www.folkways.si.edu/abraham-lass/play-me-a-movie-piano-music-to-accompany-silent-movie-scenes/soundtracks-musicals/music/album/smithsonian) by Abraham Lass? I just saw the documentary Stories We Tell and most of the music from the movie comes from that album (arranged by Jonathan Goldsmith). I haven't seen it posted anywhere, so it would have to come from the dark recesses of some filmmusic fan's expansive, shady library.

LIVING OUT LOUD (Academy-Award promo with music by George Fenton) (lossless/flac)
Living Out Loud is a coming-of-age movie for adults that features a lot of easy-going music by George Fenton. The commercial soundtrack highlighted only vocals used in the film. This FYC Promo has 18 score tracks (+ one vocal) in great stereo sound.

The Joserael soundtrack blogspot has gone private (again). Does anyone know how to ask for an invitation to get in again?
Based on comments I now see on his Twitter account he was unhappy that people posted his links on other sites so made his blog private. He seems to be turning all requests down (with replies like "the blog is private, sorry") but never makes it clear just who he is letting in---and what's the point of maintaining a blog if it's not shared with someone? I would think FFShriners would get priority invitations!
update Sept 27: Joserael responded to my Twitter inquiry and reiterated that he was upset with people sharing his links and is closing his blog permanently. It is currently showing up as "private" as he still needs to access some info there. After that, it'll be dead. He is now on a FLAC-only blog, but did not name it, nor did he say if it was a new one he started or someone else's.

Sharing the actual link itself is generally considered rude in these parts. Download the file, repack it and reup with your own links. Most here feel that way, so he is not being rude. He asked nicely, and still got shit on. Don't blame him a bit.

@vivoensanse
I am not sure I understood you, so fee free to correct me if I got you wrong.
Luckily there are lots of choices, and not only either-or. We can find different varieties of playgrounds. So there is enough for each individual taste.
If you do not like one sort of playground, you do not need to deal with it.
Just because preferences are not identical and can be various, it does not automatically make the mind of the people (who maybe disagree with me, for example) little, in my opinion.

My last answer, please: I thought we, all, start to share this links because we love soundtracks, and we have not the greed the labels do have. I asume there must be rules: I concur with joserael in the abuse of his blog followers. But I insist: I believe we must share, not became little dictators of little playgrounds. And please stop this stupid discussion. This pages are for music. Thanks to all of you, anyway.

Stop this stupid discussion? To be fair, you did kinda stir the hornet's nest yourself.
I agree - it would be great if everybody shared and shared alike, but, although I've not been here as long as some (nods to the disgruntled cat and the happy Goddess), I've come to learn that there are rules here, which, if you don't keep, you become very unpopular. Sometimes those rules may seem a bit unfair to others, but without them, things would probably spiral out of control, and sites like these would all be shut down. We'd all be a happy little bunch of bunnies then, now wouldn't we? So that's just the way things have turned out to be. I guess just be grateful that there are people out there who are willing to share.
Okay, end of sermon. :)

Also, aside from respecting members or friends, please remember these are touchy times. Sharers are wary, and worried about security. If people are going to spread their links willy nilly, it greatly increases the chance of said link getting killed. No one said don't share, just make your own links. Private, invite only blogs are getting more popular because membership can be controlled and monitored, restricting members to those who are trusted. This is not meant for excluding folks, just an attempt at some sort of security. If it helps, even I have not been granted access to his site. It does not bother me. I am members at other sites, but by far the Shrine is the best place for me to get music. Especially the unofficial and leaked albums. A close second is soulseek, but even there you can control who can or cannot download from you. It is just a way of operating now, and has to be accepted.
Bottom line is, most members severely frown on the sharing of other people's links. On the other hand, I once had a source who wanted me (and a couple others) to post in order to keep some distance for security. In that case, we were encouraged to use his links. But yes, there is a bit of rules, loosely speakiing, here. Not as clamped down as other sites, just more of an accepted standard. You just have to adapt as you go. I can say that most blog runners are members here, and if they see you share links not your own, you are unlikely to get invited or accepted. Just saying.

I asked you to let me know if you want these. All of them are @ mp3 320. The rest of your list I do not have, but most are pretty easy to lay your hands on. Also I see that Wildwoodpark replied in your thread that he has most of them, and to let him know if you still need them. You have not replied in the thread, nor pm-ed me. I didn't where else to post this but considering that you guys are likely to know....
How do you guys get your promo scores? Do you rip them off a website, isolate them from video files or the like, attend an event, etc. etc.? I'm curious to how you manage to get a hold on a lot of things--particularly for TV music.
---
And I guess I'll tack on a TV music wish list. If anyone has anything from this list, you will be my hero!
• SIBERIA (NBC)
• CHICAGO FIRE (NBC)
• BEAUTY AND THE BEAST (CW)
-- pilot score by Mark Isham
-- series score by Claude Foisy
• CRACKED (CBC)
• DO NO HARM (NBC)
• BATES MOTEL (A&E)
• THE SECRET CIRCLE (CW)
• SLEEPY HOLLOW (FOX)
• MOONLIGHT (CBS)
And speaking of "Do No Harm", I know the show's score was by James S. Levine. I've been searching online for any website of his. I know he was on Soundcloud but it looks like that was deleted. Does he even have a website or has he simply deleted his sites?

I'm sorry, which "official complete score release" did you buy? I only know the OST with 2 score tracks. The other one with 40 tracks is a bootleg and you shouldn't pay for this. Without having seen the film, my best guess is that those alternate cues came from the OST. If that bootleg had used the original cue names, I guess it's been easier to tell.

Ohhh... Here's (
http://www.ebay.com/itm/STUART-LITTLE-2-Alan-Silvestri-LIMITED-IMPORT-COMPLETE-SCORE-STUART-LITTLE-3-/321181705559?pt=Music_CDs&hash=item4ac7ebe557) what I bought. Is it the bootleg? I did notice that it didn't credit Atli Orvarsson for his score to Stuart Little 3, which seems odd, and it doesn't use the original logo for the film on the covers or disc, but instead uses a couple of different fonts. Apart from that, it looks completely official. The covers are most certainly not home-printed, but are 100% "official" quality. The back cover is perforated along the spine edges, as official covers always are. If it is a bootleg, it's very well-done... Also, I looked up the record label "Cat and Mouse Music" but it doesn't seem to have a website, or released anything else (apart from the complete score to Stuart Little [1]). I thought that was a bit odd.
I have the OST, and it only has two cues from the end of the film, "Falcon Finito" and "Silver Lining". The two cues I mentioned in my previous post are definitely not on the OST or the "Complete Score".
Does anybody know anything about this blog?

Btw, how many definitions are there for the term "bootleg"...? Does anybody have a detailed one?
Amanda
10-08-2013, 06:11 PM
Sully, "bootleg" is the actual term used for ANY set not officially released by a label. Academy Promos through to dvd rips all fall under the term bootleg. Just as bootleg alcohol was/is done on the sly, movies and music not released are the same. What you bought was not by a legit company. Many of our members here are very good at reproducing artwork, including fake barcodes, labels, spines, inserts, trays and the disc art itself. Many of our members get every detail down to the last dot. It is not that unusual anymore. This is not to say that your set is not worth anything, just that it is not official, and likely not a pressed cd. I do hope you did not shell out too much for it though. When buying items like that, you can never be sure of the quality and content until you listen, and there is no recourse if you are not satisfied.
Worse, some vendors actually sell sets p[osted by members here, even the rips and pass them off as special editions etc, which muddies the water even further.

Thanks for clearing that up, Amanda. The sound quality for the disc I bought is very good, and, as I said, the covers themselves are well-designed (apart from not using the official film logo) and are printed on fantastic quality paper - just like official inserts are. The disc only has black text printed on the plain 'silver' - no colour or pictures, etc. It was on sale at 60% off on eBay, so, thinking it was an official limited edition, I thought it was too good an offer to pass up on. I think it totalled around 20 (including internal US shipping to an American friend who then sent it on to me here in England for free). So I'm not disappointed about it, really, I mean, obviously, it's irritating to now know it's not actually official, but overall I guess it's not too bad. At least I now know for next time! :)
The final track of this 40 track 'complete score' is called "End Credits [Reprise]", and it plays after the songs at the end of the End Credits. It would appear that this track is not on the 'sessions' (or whatever they are) here (
http://scorewatch.blogspot.co.uk/2007/07/total-time-5733-min-01.html). But, as I mentioned, it does appear to have two tracks that are not on the 40 track bootleg...
So I repeat: Does anybody have the "sessions" that are listed on the above blog? The blog itself says it is a blog for "inofficial REAL (no dvd-rip or similiar) full/expanded score releases."... so presumably these do exist somewhere?

I just bought the limited edition "complete score" CD official release, but the above source seems to be along the lines of sessions, as there are two tracks which are not on my "complete score" CD - Down The Drain [Alternate] and Tiny Little Vandals. Soooo... does anybody have this one?
The only release I know of Stuart Little 2 is on Cat&Mouse Label CSA98760500 (40 tracks, along with 15 tracks from Stuart Little 3). Even though it doesn't say so anywhere on the artwork, it's often described as the Limited Complete Score (it's on eBay right now described that way). I'm assuming that's the version you purchased.
The track timings on your 40-track Cat&Mouse version match up with 40 tracks on the 41-track version you refer to, although the titles are completely different. It's true the Cat&Mouse release does not include "Down the Drain (Alternate)," but "End Credits Reprise" is the same as "Tiny Little Vandals" (based on matching up all the track timings), so it looks like there's only 1 track "missing" on your Cat&Mouse version. Since the info for the 41-track version was posted in 2007, and there is nothing to back it up (like artwork), I would in no way trust it as being accurate. My honest assessment is that no such 41-track version exists and your 40-track Cat&Mouse version is as complete as Stuart Little 2 comes. Be happy!

Yes, that's the CD I've bought off eBay. But the cue "Tiny Little Vandals" most certainly is not the same as "End Credits [Reprise]". I know the film very well, and where in the film both of those cues come. I tried a random Google search and came up with this (
http://www.goear.com/listen/50bea6d/stuart-little-2-tiny-little-vandals-alan-silvestri). It is the right cue, as I know it from the film, and it is definitely not on the Cat&Mouse 40 track 'complete'. You mentioned that there's no artwork for the 41 track, but I did have, on my other hard drive before it crashed, a custom cover for the 41 track version (including "Down The Drain [Alt.]" and "Tiny Little Vandals") that I found, by Luis M. Rojas. He has, however, since moved his website, and hasn't got round to updating it with all his previous artwork yet, so I don't actually have the cover anymore. I've asked him if he can upload it again. However, I believe that the fact that a cover does exist for it, and the audio sample above, proves the existence of the 41 track version.

Does anyone have the score of Love (2011) composed by Angels & Airwaves? I found out that there is a 2-disc Deluxe Edition of their album Love, but neither of the two contains the instrumental music used in the film.

Blood Wings Sinfonia
Symphony No. 1: Blood Wings

Note: all new 48k/24b re-master just in time for the Halloween season. This is what I consider the final mix and is the first FLAC version I've mixed and posted for this. I can relate this to the Hocus Pocus release: it's slightly different but overall sounds much better with improved dynamics and other things you probably never noticed before. Retained original MP3 mix for reference.

Note: small errors that irked me have been corrected and overall sound is more consistent. Original MP3 version retained for reference.

Blood Wings Sinfonia
Symphony No. 3: The Incident at Goose Creek Vol. 2

https://mega.co.nz/#!s5EwFAKZ!V9SoDnNLKwuS_JOeBwZS3x_99agOYIJ3n1Pp8Aw LVLQ
Note: Like Blood Wings, this is the final mix debuting for the first time in 48k/24b FLAC. This received an extensive re-mastering and now features a sound that was compromised in the original mixes. As with the previous two symphonies, I've included both the new FLAC and the old MP3 version for reference.

Blood Wings Sinfonia
Symphony No. 4: Murder on the Night Plains Vol. 1
2013
4 tracks, TRT: 46:55, 320 MP3
https://mega.co.nz/#!0oFDBbiJ!Zgz8b2u7YFoV5a8Qb6ced2HGFR08H3w6VFXIbQa 0T-Q
Note: no 48k/24b FLAC upgrade for this yet but the MP3 mix you're downloading is more or less the final mix. I went in and corrected some minor irks but did not include original MP3 for reference due to the relatively small amount of corrections. Movement 4 received the biggest upgrade.
Symphony No. 5: Murder on the Night Plains Vol. 2 is now available but will involve a little scavenger hunt across the forum. Happy hunting! Link will be posted here on All Hallow's Eve for everyone to enjoy! The wait will most definitely be worth it.
Here is my first clue: it only comes once a year. Now keep a close eye on all the threads on the download links page and if you're paying good enough attention, the answer should be as obvious as you would expect. Happy hunting!

Ok, I just did so, but the starter of the thread (NICK VADER) hasn't been online for more than a year (maybe someone else happens to read it and has it what I question, but we'll see) and I made the experience that in general the chances to get a re-upload of any album are higher here since this thread is visited frequently. Nonetheless, thanks for the hint.
