Don't know about a "score" album, (but, I posted the OST link a few pages back in this thread), as the OST has some incidental music by Jan A.P. Kaczmarek on it...

2009 | Sonic Mayhem | Prototype | 32 Tracks | 247 min. | MP3-320
Genre: Orchestral/Techno
Normally I don't post releases like this since most video game music doesn't really appeal to me but there are the few rare exceptions I feel that everyone has to hear. This release is definitely high up on the list. It has a sound that seems more fitting for a movie and it slightly resembles Media Ventures' output but has an energy contained within that I feel Media Ventures hasn't quite been able to nail yet. This release was ripped directly from the Xbox 360 files (those files were not ripped by me) and contains no SFX and has been mixed into 11 suites. As a bonus I have included the original soundtrack which considering it was only a mere 47 minutes it is also a magnificent representation of the complete score but obviously when it ends you want more hence the reason behind this release. There have been many different releases in this forum for this score but most of them are over 100 tracks, sound quite terrible, and loop. I did my best to keep the score sounding clean and consistent. This is not a complete release solely for the fact that the only missing music is from the various cut scenes throughout the game and the source for those were riddled with SFX and didn't really add or take anything from the whole experience overall. I hope you all enjoy!

Thanks a lot for this! I'm not a real big Batman fan, but I saw this movie for the first time not too long ago, and I enjoyed the music. When I downloaded the original score, I found the piece I wanted to hear was not on it. I hope it's on this one, but it doesn't really matter because just about anything from Danny Elfman is awesome. I was wrong. It's missing "Face to Face." Otherwise, it's the album release track-for-track, with three extra cues and some demos. The LLL version has about half an hour of film music that wasn't in the album version.
Don't get me wrong, though, that set will probably be worth it for the other Burton/Elfman collaborations.

I know you mean well, and you are putting a lot of effort into these projects.
But please, understand, a 'promo' release means something very specific. It means a version of the score assembled by the composer or their representation. They are either used during awards season to get votes, (for Oscars, they are called Academy promos,) or for more obscure composers, as a tool for prospective clients to sample their work.
Unless what you are planning to put up is an actual promo, actually prepared by the composer or their representation, calling it a promo is misleading. If it's another DVD rip, no matter how clean, this is not an appropriate description.
Good luck with your endeavors,

Promo Release For 'The Goonies' Is In Progress
Dude, it can't be a promo release if it didn't come from an official label. Promos come from someone leaking an exclusive version of a score before the movie comes out for promotional purposes. The Goonies came out in 1985, and you are not an official record label. Consider instead calling it a complete score, or expanded score--just not anything like complete recordings, recording sessions, or promotional release. You're better off just calling it a DVD rip, unless you got music from a source that no one else would have access to.
Also I suggest taking advice from the others on here. Instead of ripping music straight from the DVD when you have clean sources to use, download Audacity, and remix the tracks yourself. And please tell me you've at least started using a DVD audio extractor instead of the crappy karaoke effect..

First Of All, Yes I Do Have The Entire Release... I'm Editing It As We Speak. Second, The Dimensioner Is Right, I Do Make Lousy Rips... But This One, Is Not A DVD Rip. I Was Able To Figure Out How To Isolate The Whole Dialogue(Except For One Track), But I Was Able To Keep Sound In Another Track As Well. Like I Said, Only 2 Tracks Aren't Isolated But The Others Are. Don't Judge This Goonies Post.... And This Time Moviemusical, My Efforts Aren't Good But This Album That I Post Will Be. When I Post It, I'd Get While I Have The Chance To Do So.
That all sounds very nice and I hope it works out for you. (Not a Goonies fan myself, so I'm not actually looking for it.)
However, based on the notes you just gave, it still sounds like a rip, just at best, a better one.
(If the source of the sound is a DVD, no matter whether it has sfx or dialogue or not, it is still a rip. The same is true for blu ray rips, although if it comes with an isolated music track, it is then and only then, appropriate to call it an isolated score.)
And it is absolutely not a promo. If it is a promo there is no dialogue to isolate, no tracks to mix...
Just trying to save you some aggravation,
JonC

If you're having to make distinctions about what tracks you use, and separating out dialogue from music, it's not an official release.
Here is the list of currently known official releases for The Goonies (
http://www.soundtrackcollector.com/catalog/soundtrackdetail.php?movieid=1698).
If it is one of these, which one is it?
If it's an official release, and it's not one of these, what label released it and when?
(Because a previously unknown official release is the kind of thing soundtrack collector would love to know about.)

Out of curiosity, I listened to a couple of your tracks, and it sounds like a combination of DVD rip and also the re-recording. To be honest, I'm confused. You say you're putting up a complete score. But Fratelli Chase for instance is not complete. The film version is actually made up of about 3 or 4 different segments.
Look, I gotta be honest, you're using the wrong terms here, and there just doesn't seem to be a whole lot of interest in a DVD rip. The Varese release has all of the original music, plain and simple. Some tracks in the film might have been edited, looped, tracked, etc., but that happens a lot in the editing process (great examples are Die Hard, Aliens, and a whole bunch of others).

Same as my lossless file that a friend shared with me.
If he notices and uploads a new one I will share that as well but I'm not gonna bother him or worst, owe him a favor for a disc I have at home waiting for me.
No biggie. Someone uploaded a fixed one so it's all good. Thank you though for posting this. I don't think I'd been that giddy in awhile. Anyway, this will more than do for when my copy arrives. *crosses fingers that it comes in tomorrow*
This release is definitely different though from the original album. It still feels very long and drawn-out but it's nice to finally hear the entire score and experience the various difference themes or leitmotifs for the various characters (screeching strings representing Catwoman, Harpischord or whatever for the Penguin, calliope for the circus, etc.) and realize that while it kinda drags in places it is definitely an enjoyable score.
Here's the thing. Your story keeps changing. First it's a promo. Then it's a rip. Then it's not a rip, but it is official. Now it's not official. I think you can appreciate that others might have a problem with this.
Slow down. Take a deep breath.
Now, what is it, exactly?
Where did you get it?
Please answer as completely and accurately as you can.
Understand there will almost certainly be follow up questions.
Now before you post your reply, stop. Read over your reply very carefully and make sure it is exactly what you want to say, the way you want to say it.
Understand. After this reply, if your story changes again the only remaining reasonable conclusion is that you are covering the true nature and origin of the album. And that is not a good thing to do. The same is true if the final result does not correspond with what you indicate.
Looking forward to your reply,
JonC

musicman1225

From what I listened to, his source seems to be mostly the re-recording (it was a suite that was recorded back in the 90s I believe - about 18 minutes of different cues, and that suite was later chopped up and put into various bootlegs. None of them are the actual film recordings.) The rest seems to have been filled in with a DVD rip.

You're wrong again. Just because it's a bootleg doesn't necessarily mean it will have SFX. The term also qualifies for unofficial releases that leaked that may be complete or expanded. If this score is in stereo or at least partial, then I can believe it is at least not a full DVD rip. However, it is a bit hard to believe that you could find a link to an unofficial release of a score to a movie that came out before the internet runs the ways it does now that no one else has ever found before.
Also, @The Black Death, it sucks that the Music Box is delayed until February. I thought it was coming out this month. Seems if it gets delayed it'll have to be changed to the 26th Anniversary Edition, or something, lol.

I'm not sure about the 'at least more than 30 tracks.' If you're just copying someone else's album, the first thing you should know, absolutely, is how many tracks it has. The second is the bitrate. (and yes, there are a number of bootlegs without sfx, Buckaroo Banzai, early Blade Runner albums...In general, ONLY DVD rips, or its predecessor a video tape rip, or an off the air rip, have sfx.)

I think people don't realize that higher bit rates don't mean GREATER sound. Now, when I buy something from Amazon Mp3 or iTunes its usually in either 256 AAC or Mp3 or 240+ VBR and I'm good with that because I'm PAYING for something.
As for when posting some, if you have the original lossless source, you'd be surprised how creating Mp3s using LAME VBR good sounds and to my ears, its rather comparable to Mp3 320 but if your going for that, you might as well just go lossless.
Everyone wanted to HEAR the full album and besides ONE shoddy track, the entire album is now available at a very "decent if not good" bit rate that is fast to download and won't take up much space in your iPods, Zunes, or Computers.
I find it funny how THE BLACK DEATH called me out on "I see what your doing. By offering this LAME version, you've now made it so that it takes LONGER for a FLAC or Mp3 320 version to be posted" rant because at the end of the day, if people who want stuff for free FINALLY get something they want for nothing, is it really my fault that QUALITY comes at that price?
I want to thank everyone who enjoyed my share and I hope that if you really LOVED the album that within a month or two if you can and have the funds to go and buy the album.

I hate to sound pessimistic about somebodies ripping "talents" but i for one would prefer to have a real version than a rip with any kind of sfx. One thing i really detest is having "complete" versions that actually end up worse than a dog with the sfx. I have a collection that includes rips of real cd's i have and have downloaded what i hope are complete versions only to find out they are crappy "complete" versions that somebody has tried to do with sfx. I am just so glad i didnt jump in and delete the normal score release just because i thought i had a more complete version. All this "i am doing a complete, ultimate, final" version is just rubbish and really makes the entire hobby silly especially when there is a complete official version out there /rantoff again

I was actually working on editing the track with the existing soundtrack.
I got the cues off a little bit, then it suddenly turned into a suite lol.
I was going to place the Edith Piaf in the song, overlapping the existing Edith Piaf song, to make it "as heard" in the movie. but it will sound a little out of place, unless you know the movie really well. and if you like that sort of thing.
but i did have problems trying to place the song with perfect timing.
Now that the movie is out, I can go through it more diligently. I believe most of the cues are on the soundtrack and repeat several times. I know that 528491 plays twice; before and after Arthur plays the musical countdown.
I've delayed editing the soundtrack further because I'm now working on a video edit lol.
that and ive been busy trying to sort my computers.

Pretty badly. You can actually see through the reflective coating in several places. It's my fault, I misplaced it and it wound up grating against some debris. It's a complete loss, unfortunately. Though now that I have calmed down from my despair, I realized I could rip the audio from the 5.1 DVD that came with the CDs. That'll have to do (and it'll do just fine, Wondershare DVD Ripper can export FLAC) until I've saved up enough coin to eventually replace the set.

Perhaps he was going for booby trap; I've only seen the movie once a long time ago, but that word makes more sense--and boody sounds like booty, which makes it sound kind of sexual.
As for the King Kong joke, we should stop being so mean to him. I understand the joke you were aiming for: tacking a random word onto Edition to make the movie score sound like a special release. It's kind of like "Transformers: The AllSpark Edition" (which by the way is real but not complete). And Snakes, stop being so gullible. I've ordered my own copies of Batman Returns, Star Trek V, and Home Alone archive editions. These releases are astounding. In 1989 (when Star Trek V was in theaters), these kind of score albums were absolutely not available. Having them now is a blessing. I'm happy to enjoy these trial versions, so thanks to all who've been posting. I'm looking forward to having my own copies.
Those who choose to purchase the CDs are not rich. We just choose to budget our money differently. And the more purchased, the more likely the labels will create more in the future. Name-calling and foul language are just not welcome here, at all; and unecessary.
Let's smile and be grateful that these releases exist nowadays. I never expected them.
Happy Holidays all!

It's a pain editing it, I'm trying a complete score, the hallway fight I managed to make..okay. Not great, but there could be worse :p
If you are serious that'd be fantastic. LOL.
I am trying for a expanded rip, with as little sfx as possible soo.... ;D
HI Guys
I know a while back there was a Dune Sp Ed link with the Dune mini series also added.
Does anyone know if there was any other versions like promos / extended / rips etc for all the Dune films.
The original film I think there was 2 ost
the dune mini series there was 2 ost for the 2 shows.
Just checking if there was any other releases or rips etc

I found out that the regular album release of James Horner's Apollo 13 has got 30 seconds not contained on the promo so I combined them.

I'm confused. In the ALBUM version, the only different track is the End Credits
End Titles - performed by Annie Lennox (5:34)
In the Promo Score, its End Credits (6:59)

No, Master Alarm is 30 seconds longer on the album. The album version opens very loudly (after Tom Hanks saying "Houston, ...") so I had to replace the first seven seconds with the promo version.
BTW: If you know where I can find the album version of the End Titles that would be helpful. Been searching high and low and every album version I found contained the 7-minute version.

Ignore the rude comments, take the advice from the good ones, learn from your mistakes and move on.
Yes i know that was alittlebit cruel to him , but he must start learning what too call his rips as i frankly gets annoyed when it is labeled a rec.session or promo and has SFX in it. Anyone can ripp the music straight out from the DVD and lower channels. and to call something official when it ISNT official is called false advertisment...
Please Snake (and i say please), label your uploads right and people will respect your work more, OK???
As for King kong, yes I was yanking your chain on that one as we all know by now that a rejected score does not exist...

Sparktank, i'm not so concerned with the music that's already been released (though the revolving hallway/room fight movie version would definately be nice), i would LOVE to get the long subtle underscoring pieces of music, from when the group are discussing the plan, and when we see them setting it up, getting on the plane, etc. There are some very nice pieces of music here which are sadly missing from the released tracks. If you would be able to get any of these pieces done you would be a star!

I'm only working with the retail CD I have. Not the bonus tracks in lossy mp3.
I'm really just doing it to edit the "Waiting for a Train" to be more like the film version, as it has the Half Remembered Cue in there, among other short cues.
I know the other music you're talking about.
I might look into a bluray rip and trying to see if some of the unreleased cues don't have any sfx.
It's not going to be pleasant, as most scenes have extra surround sound fx in the rear channels. The lef&right channels will have sfx for certain, but will also contain the main music. The center channel will have some elements of music, but quietly and overpowered by sfx/dialog. The rear channels are the best to extract music as they will have less sfx. But they also are missing some of the musical elements found in the front left/right channels. And the center channel.
All the unreleased music will have to be dvd/bluray rips (preferrably bluray as it is lossless DTS audio).
Which VenomShock is already doing. Although he's doing DVDrip.
But I do have a slowed down version of Edith Piaf's song used for the musical countdown. It's the most accurate version I've seen so far. On Youtube, most of the slowed down versions give her a deep voice. Except mine.
I did several versions, 1x normal, 2x slow, 4x, 8x, 10x, etc.
They've also been edited like the film version.
The original track has a 10 second instrumental intro.
The film version used for all the kicks, integrate the 10 second intro into the first verse.
My versions are like the film version, with the 10sec intro mixed into the first verse then it plays out normally.

I got the blu ray today, does anyone know some good blu ray audio ripping software - the second disc has the released cd tracks (i think they are all there) with the option to listen to them in dolby 5.1 as they were designed to be in 5.1 - I REALLY WISH they had not done this and instead had done an isolated 5.1 audio track with just the music, would have truly been something fantastic, but no, they give us all the tracks from the soundtrack, yet again pissing people off who have already purchased the cd. WHY THE F**K do they do shit like this?! It's like they decide to do all extra things, but then that's as far as 'thinking' about it goes, and they make a complete balls up of it.
I can also confirm the movie has a DTS audio track on blu ray, it also has a (i think) spanish audio track but i havent checked what format that is encoded in (It also has an audio described track which is pointless on a blu ray as anyone who is gonna buy the movie and is blind would not likely have a blu ray player and surely buy the cheaper DVD?). I'm wondering, given the quality that is usually put into the dubbing mix on dvd/bly ray releases nowadays, if trying to rip the spanish audio if it is 5.1 would result in better sound from the surround channels with less echo from voices?

I don't know if the Spanish tracks would be much better. I've only tried it with one DVD, and the echoes are still there--actually it was the French translation that I tried. It all has the same formatting that so people in other countries get the same quality as the English version, I expect.
On a somewhat related note, has anyone else looked into the official Inception app for iPod and iPhone, etc.? It's free and it says it has previously unreleased music on it. It was created by Remote Control Productions, so it is official. But there are several problems: it is a challenge to "unlock" all the music, and on top of that there is an obnoxious static that is overlayed on the music (which kind of defeats the app's goal). Can audio be obtained from an app like this? Is it even worth checking into?

The 5.1 score on the bluray is missing "Half Remembered Dream" and "Waiting for A Train".
A Russian Torrent site has already extracted the 5.1 soundtrack saved in FLAC.
For extracting DTS audio from bluray, you can use tsMuxeR to demux the DTS audio track. It will demux the entire track as one file.
You can try to use BeSplit to split the file into chapters.
Then you can use anything from Foobar, dBpoweramp, or Tranzcode to split the DTS files into 6 mono wav files.
I guess using the Spanish audio might work just as well. If it's DTS like the English track, then it would be worth a shot. If it's AC3, ripping from the DVD would be easier to extract in smaller parts as apposed to one large file from the DTS track.

i know that BELTRAMI recorded the score
(see this link Marco Beltrami scores Repo Men - ScoringSessions.com (

I think most of the soundtrack composed by Beltrami. He is a main composer and most of that music in the movie. Exceptions: Repoing Remy 2, Let's Finish This (Alt) (no piano in the movie as I remembered) and maybe more.
And for example: on Torjussen's official site there is the track 'Farrell Is In' from Die Hard 4, but even on official soundtrack release it was listed as Beltrami's.

After about 2 hours, FINALLY managed to get it ripping, found that the blu ray also has a japanese dolby digital 5.1 audio track which is not even available from the in-disc menu!? The English track is DTS, the spanish and japanese are only dolby digital. I've had success splitting the DTS track and removing the central channel, though it still has some SFX, i think i will do this for loads of the quieter 'discussion' scenes as it's as good as i'm likely to get.
Just for FYI, the dolby digital tracks worked out to be abou 670mb each, the DTS...? - 4gb - no, not a type, [b]gigabyte[/] - i never imagined the difference would be so much, that would take up a single layer of a standard DVD on it's own! lol.
If the editing of the tracks works out as im hoping, and if people want it, i will be happy to post the outcome here for people to listen to and berate :)

But, within a week, the thread I linked them to has been reported, and removed due to a DMCA notice. I generally do not give links, but these were well respected folk. SO, do not ask me for links anymore, and do not pm me for other sites, as I will no longer answer such requests. It is sad, to me, that it has come to this. Click of doom? If I know what you're talking about, that happened to me once a while back. It seemed my hard drive was just clicking and I couldn't access any of the stuff on it. So I took it into some computer fix-it business and they actually recovered all my data and placed on a different external. Everything was still in tact, although there were some weird random broken up files as well.
I didn't rip all of it, I'd say the music went from about 61 minutes to 89 or so minutes.

Itunes bonus tracks?

Venomshock - what are some of those extra cues you have listed in your iTunes screen dump?
eg. Hallway Fight, Elevator Fight Part 2, Going Deeper?

Mixture of dvd rip, and some cues already have a bit of source material [528491, film version, Hallway fight, elevator fight 2].

Sigh.... Jesus Christ...
So no sharing links via PM? Damn. That sucks. As for me, I'm not sure what links you're talking about, but the F.P. link you sent me is still active. Just checked it. So I can promise you it's not me.

[QUOTE=RogueShark;1595549]Does anyone have the 2002 re-issue of John William's E.T., in 320 kbps?
Is this the 20th anniversary? If so, I have it. At the moment, it is ripped as >wav lossless, but if you give me some time, I will re-rip it @ 320...send me a pm, please, to help me keep track of where things go. I may be away for a few days, at hospital. Not too sure yet...

Is anyone able to repost links for the Lord of the Rings Fellowship of The Ring Collector's Score, all that I have found are all dead or broken. Please help if you can, if you can't its understandable.
Do you mean the complete scores? Then yes, I can do those at 320. Again, please pm me.
