I just told you some posts ago. There is a score album (with a couple of extra cues) available. If you prefer the digital version, you can find it on amazon, itunes, musicload. Don't know however where to get the physical disc for cheap.

Thanks for supporting me on the flac front. Really disappoints me, that I am the only one who seems to collect lossless-only.

i'm in too. flac all the way!!

problem is that i cant find most stuff in flac. for example, if i could find the beauty and the beast instrumental in my sig in flac (or any kind of lossless) i would be ecstatic. moreso if i could find the complete score. its beautiful, but the vocals on the soundtrack ruin the effect to a degree.
still, youtube rip is better than nothing.

Well, on Star Trek the sound was lossless, but the "quality" was gone. All background channels featured the same soundscapes. I really like 7.1 for it's directional effects, but updating a tv series from the 60s with it doesn't make any sense.

If they are gone, then I guess your thread is not the only one that got deleted. Or the search function is crap. Don't know, why someone should delete it, I guess one of the mods should clarify this and PM you.
But if you found two threads of the score with dead links... then why not post your active link in there instead of opening up a third one? When your link will also be offline some day, I don't want to see a fourth thread by someone else with a new link. You know, I try to put myself into the shoes of someone, who is looking for the score, why should I do a search and check 3 or more threads for an active links, when all could be posted in one?

If they are gone, then I guess your thread is not the only one that got deleted. Or the search function is crap. Don't know, why someone should delete it, I guess one of the mods should clarify this and PM you.
But if you found two threads of the score with dead links... then why not post your active link in there instead of opening up a third one? When your link will also be offline some day, I don't want to see a fourth thread by someone else with a new link. You know, I try to put myself into the shoes of someone, who is looking for the score, why should I do a search and check 3 or more threads for an active links, when all could be posted in one?


Actually, My thread was ASKING for someone to reup the link. I found out that the mods had MOVED my thread from the main page (where everyone could see it) over to the REQUEST page (ie: the DEAD letter office) where nobody really goes! Since I have a new link, I will redo the thread and post the link there! Perhaps I should also reupload the score over at Megaupload, so it will last far beyond my years!

To me unreleased stuff is far more legal than released one, and even though they're aren't considered as such I will still argue that most of these promo / bootlegs etc... have not the definitive (generally messed up) mastering and processing. And also, as the composers haven't touched any rights for the unreleased tracks through a release (Varese is the champion to make short releases in a way to pay the less rights to the composers as possible), it is some kind of justice if we can complete these with free missing music !

I am not a FLAC buff myself, but there is a growing movement to collect in that format. A lot of people are looking to upgrade their albums, and I don't see why they shouldn't. No different in my eyes than asking for an upgrade to 320, which I never hesitate to do. Yes, a lot of more common stuff would get posted, but a lot of that will be good for most people, just not the hardcore collectors, which is where the divide here often occurs. But, if it is a lossless thread in general, and separate from this one, I don't see the harm. Just scan the threads for anything of interest. With each link getting it's own ost, that is easy enough to do. Granted, it will take a modicum of time and effort, but i do not see why the majority should not get what they want, in deferrance to one or two collectors..??

I have nothing against brand new releases in lossy format. It allows you to have a close look on the releases, and be aware where you'll put your money then. Lossless is a little more pernicious. I'm afraid those forums are a kind of "all or nothing". Also, I feel very confortable with downloading / uploading the stuff I'm looking for (expanded / promo etc...)... Regarding the past Lossless Thread, it looks that when the guy stroke the topic with troubles, a lot of "dealers" shown they weren't that confortable with what they were doing here.
But you said it: you grown tired with it yourself. There must be a reason. I mean why are you filling every requests for everybody... That's something that goes beyond my comprehension. It's so much work, so what worth it so much ? Perhaps just to become a "Master" in this virtual place ?

On another, less happy note for me...I know it is known that i have had my request for Bloos and sand filled. I only mentioned it so that others would not waste time searching when I already have it. The problem is that is was a private share on an invite only blog, and they request that the stuff there not be shared elsewhere. While I know I could re-upload a link, I feel I must honor the spirit of the site, so I am not able to give out the link, even via pm. Not unless folks from said blog tell me otherwise...

No offense, but some of us share just to share. To be nice. To be part of a community, and expand each other's experiences. I don't think there are any "masters" here, cept for Sarah and Jessie...oh, and Sorei (hey, dreamer). I do believe that the prevalent sharing of scores in FLAC has helped fuel the fire against sharing. It is one thing to have a low to medium rate copy shared, as a sample, another for an exact copy to be freely passed around. I can understand that. But the fact is most of us will never be able to buy everything that is available, and so turn to forums like this. It is not like we can turn on the radio, and here our type of music at any given time, all day. Or ever..And, all folks are naturally gonna want and seek out the best quality items they can. Its only natural. I do know some forums went to not allowing FLAC or lossless shares, at least for a while. I guess that would be an admin thing. But the format is gaining in popularity, and it is getting easier to use. Sooner than later, irt will be a standard. I think since we are all basically "stealing", it is not productive to start splitting hairs about the level of stealing. For example...I rob banks, sure, but I onlt steal the old wrinkled twentys, I leave the good nice hundreds, cause taking them would be **wrong**..do I make any sense? (no, don't answer that) Basically expanded and promo scores are still "stolen" if shared. As are dvd rips, since the label that shall not be named still considers any of those to be forbidden..

Some seem a bit..abrupt, when requesting a score for free--but only in FLAC dammit..but essentially it is no different than asking for a 320 rip to upgrade a score..

This may be your style, but most people here don't use this stuff as "preview versions", they use it as a "definitive version", because they don't hear the difference between lossy and lossless, think it's waste of space... whatever. We are not uploading some 64kbit/s MP3 files, a lot of them are 256k or above, which is enough for most of the users here. I don't think the quality (lossy/lossless), changes anything of that.

And I am filling requests, because I am able to. And finding the stuff someone is looking for is what this place is all about, isn't it?

I agree with your position on items from private blogs... honour amongst thieves, and all that.

I've spent my life it seems actually buying LP's, and CD's but never being able to buy everything. Now I'm near to retirement and unemployed, and can't buy anymore. Yeah, downloading is still stealing... but I don't feel so bad. I download as high a quality item as I can, and upgrade as the opportunity arises. Certainly with limited editions, once they're sold out places like here are the only way we're gonna get 'em.

And yes, I'll be sharing once I've worked out how to do it.

Oh, I don't feel the least bit bad about downloading anything. I just can't buy anything right now, but I still love the music. The music I got from the people here, went on my mp3 and went with me to the hospital just lately. Really helped, so a big thank you to EVERYONE who has ever shared any music on here....one more reason to share I think

I actually think it is the best one. I've got it in true lossless. A little deffect it had however was far too powerful sound and basses, then I remastered it all. Those uploads take much time so I'll post it if I come to a good idea about how to present a new lossless "complete/promo" scores thread in a way it doesn't turn to a wild bunch like before...

I know FSM incorporated some unreleased material in it and Friedkin changed the cues for the film, but I don't know if the FSM edition is really complete or if there is something missing only available on the Bluray.

So, um, we know that Spartacus: Blood and Sand is tough to find, and is Varese to boot, so can't be posted openly. I have however, recieved permission to share it via pm from the uploader, and am willing to do so, after I make a new link..just be patient, as I have less ability to sit at the desk for long--still fairly sore-ish....

I don't believe Lawrence re-recording 2010 has been posted yet. It will show up soon enough. If you enjoy it though, buy a copy and support the label that releases these CDs despite the loss it causes them.
