May I ask what happened? I saw some recent posts by Yannis, and I understand that some people don't sympathize with his situation (I personally wish him only the best), but I completely respect you defending him. Not sure if that has anything to do with you wanting to leave, but I genuinely hope that you don't.

I've been searching for the instrumental score for the 2006 Dutch film, CRUSADE IN JEANS ("Kruistocht in Spijkerbroek"). There was an album release but it was by Ozark Henry and that's not the instrumental score but just songs. The composer to the best of my knowledge was Jurre Haanstra. If anyone has any idea if it evens exists in some form, please let me know :)

Hello! I am looking for a song used at the end of SCHINDLER'S LIST. The song is called YERUSHALAYIM SHEL ZAHAV. I own the original soundtrack CD but its version is not the same as the one in the movie.

I didn't want to have to do this, but these latest leaks were the final straw. Amanda (aka kgray and phoenix2010) is the source of all of these leaks. Some of you probably already made the connection or had your suspicions, but I feel that it needs to be said. Notice how Amanda always turns up in these threads with something to say, usually with something negative about the whole aspect of trading.

How do I know all of this? You see... Amanda is a bit of an elitist and a moderator of a secret scores forum called Jigsaw Reborn. Google it. She is one of 6 people (1 admin: jigasw and 5 moderators: sorei, mandi, machionic, bishtyboshty and NoMoReMrNiCeGuy) who have a private section for "exclusive shares" among those 6. They also have a regular section for the rest of members (around 30-35 total). Many of the members there are also members here at FF Shrine from what I can tell. The regular members of that forum probably do not even realize there is an even a more private forum. I'm sure that's something they don't like to talk about how the operation is truly run. This freely hosted forum seems more protected than Fort Knox. They have all kinds of rules that you can't even mention the name of the forum or url to anybody. You have to be personally invited to be a member there. There are also rules that you must ask the original uploader for permission to share what they give you. That one seems to be loosely enforced.

Amanda (aka kgray) started with her spree of leaks on January 24 with the Flyboys Recording Sessions. Over the next 2 days, she would post Backdraft, The Last Airbender (posted in vbr originally but then "Amanda" came back to say she had it in flac), Vertical Limit, Signs, The Happening, The Karate Kid, Gladiator and Salt. She claims she downloaded all of these on Soulseek, but that was a blatant lie among many that she gave. These were shared privately on Jigsaw Reborn. How do I know it was Amanda who posted these? Besides being given the same information from other reliable sources, I did my own independent investigation. Look at kgray's post history and compare it to Amanda's. There is a similar posting style. You'll see a style of posting the title in all caps. kgray refers to scorepranos as "scorepranoes" the same way Amanda did. Perhaps the most damning evidence is this particular thread. Here Amanda (as kgray) posts a NCIS promo she had compiled from various sources. In that very thread and a year and half later, Amanda claims that original compiliation was hers. Many of kgray's earlier threads are TV scores or James Horner, all of which she is known to love.

Amanda then took a bit of a breather from her kgray name. You'll notice there are no other posts from that name after January 29. On March 14, it was time for her to leak Wyatt Earp. This time it was under the name phoenix 2010 (Amanda is from the Phoenix area, isn't she?). Again, look at the post history. This account has largely been inactive and then boom goes the dynamite...they suddenly have Wyatt Earp to share? Who is Amanda kidding here? I had already confronted her as being kgray.. but she wasn't done posting. She had this other name in her back pocket.

I'm not bothered with sharing things with a small group of friends. I know it's done. I had all of these already, so it didn't personally affect me. My issues is the way she went about it. She cowardly hid behind other names to do the dirty work. She knew all these things were not to be shared publicly, yet she did it anyway. She was put in a position of trust, yet she couldn't be trusted. I'm bothered by some of the things she said and how it makes her look like a hypocrite. She had no concern whatsoever with what she did. Her cavalier and taunting attitude irks me.

I doubt he gets any real satisfaction of even sharing here. If he is the original source for these, then I believe he has the choice of who gets them and when that happens. If he wants to trade these for other things he wants, that should be his right.

I dunno what's been going on here the past few pages, but anyone making some original rip or DVD music rip even can but in their initials or whatever into the track with mp3tag, hell it even works with flac. Now folks who would erase that, those might be considered assholes, alright, but flaming someone for sharing is just silly. We are NOT the fucking composers, artists, recordists or publishers, so to a degree we are ALL misbehaving, at least regarding the capitalist standards of our societies. Now we might not agree with that standard, but it's the status quo and that puts us near the fringes of society, at least for the time being, if we like it or not. That includes me also of course. Oh, but there's nothing wrong with sharing average things. I don't have any problem with that whatsoever! The only thing I don't really like are PEOPLE creating fne accounts to leak things they know they shouldn't, using a fake account because they know their realy identity could get them into severe trouble, doing more damage than good (what am I saying? a little bit of wisdom from me: the most vocal people to accuse someone of leaking stuff are often those at fault. comes from my experience in the RPG sharing domain. I was accused of leaking PDFs of rare stuff by a guy. got all kind of nasty shit thrown at me.

All I can say is THANK YOU AGAIN!! I'm listening to WYATT EARP right now. I had sort of lost touch with JNH over the last couple of years, maybe because of his left turn into Hans Zimmerland with Dark Knight. But I had forgotten that he is one of the few composers today who is NOT writing wallpaper music. I even ignored The Last Airbender, mainly because it was a movie that I wouldn't see. But his score for that is just GRAND!

And so is Wyatt Earp! It's smack dab in the middle of Bruce Broughton / Silverado territory - an epic, melodic, orchestral western.

Yeah, because all they care is about the music and nothing out. It's the Internet, if it's there, anyone has access to it. People don't understand how public everything is on the Internet. Unless these members got these from the composers themselves, which I doubt they did, then why such a fuss? Guarantee, the source of these was ultimately the Internet.

They have to keep things HIDDEN from other people and keep them in their own "trading circles" in order to feel important and relevant by keeping them from the general consumption of the public. But, in my mind, the only people who have permission to get mad about that are the people who actually MAKE the music in the first place and aren't getting any credit or compensation for it.

So again, I kindly ask if anyone has the score to "Chicken With Plums" by Olivier Bernet, because it's a great score and would really help to relax me right now. If "normal" people have this "holy grail" scores (or unreleased recording sessions - call it what you want) already then it shouldn't be a problem for this people to get other "normal" expanded versions of regular OSTs...

That's why I've never once felt even a little guilty about downloading these things. The composers themselves don't own anything. The music is owned by film studios and record labels. Composers get paid to write it, and get paid to produce it, but are they raking in the cash from album sales? 99% of the time the answer is no. There are extremely rare cases where an exception is made (James Horner getting a dollar and change for every "Titanic" soundtrack CD sold is the most well-known example) but by and large. composers themselves are not suffering from these things getting out there.

I'm 100% in this for the enjoyment of the music. That's why I don't download some 98% of what gets leaked. I'm just not interested. I don't give a shit about all the Hans Zimmer / Remote Control scores that get leaked, while at the same time understanding those are VERY popular for both collecting and for fans who just enjoy them.

I'm in this for the Horner scores (not many truly unreleased so most are expanded sessions and so on) which I'm sure many don't give a shit about either. I love the music itself. That's everything to me.

Unless these members got these from the composers themselves, which I doubt they did.

Usually it comes from the studio's FTP's, which are used for the composers to give the finished cue, right to the editors, without having to send tapes over.

We may not all understand that reason, but regardless of that fact, it is still there. I just want to hear my favorite scores expanded, and at the moment, that is all impossible.

I think it depends. I generally would not dl something like that. I tend to really go for scores more after seeing the film. Smaller little films may be less seen, so less known?

I have seen all the films of the scores I request. I also like to watch little known movies and find the undiscovered gems along the way. I keep a notepad file of all these rare and unreleased scores and try to request them one by one so as not to overwhelm patrons of this thread.

But since I've already started a new post, can I request both the score and soundtrack to Lola Versus? Score is by Fall On Your Sword. Soundtrack is VA. Can't believe neither of these have leaked yet either.

I've given up on EAC right now. takes me a full hour to rip a CD, don't understand why. might be a bug or a conflict. don't know. used foobar with accuraterip turned on. it worked.

I can already post this anyway: Fellowship of the ring (18 tracks, tagged, with accuraterip log, best stuff I can provide right now.)

I've given up on EAC right now....

Forget EAC. I use to master/remaster sound a lot and sonicaly speaking EAC sucks... It will rip your CD, muffle or alter the sound some way and the wav comparison will say it is 100% accurate, wich is only - I guess - an accurate sample match. Burning with EAC will also add shin/brillance to the sound. Not good either way.

Ripping with Foobar 2000 is very good (and it has the offset correction thing). A friend of mine, who makes a lot of remastering too rip with I-tunes to preserve the right sound of his CDs. For burning we both use Nero.

PS: you don't need "accurate-rip". It's just a database thing, and again it won't tell anything about the sonical preservation of your stuff.

Till now Fast & Furious 6 has no composer indicated.....but as Justin Lin is the director I think the composer might be Brian Tyler (I maybe wrong). Brian Tyler and Justin Lin worked on 5 other productions till now together so I think he will also write the score for this movie......

Shame it's not Tyler, he's done a pretty good job of fueling the action sequences of the last 3 Fast & Furious movies and his music really works well with them. Hate when a new composer is broken in on a series in place of a proven established composer, casting a new composer is like re-casting a role with a different actor, they'll never be able to do the same job.

I recently saw the 2012 Australian TV movie "The Mystery of a Hansom Cab". It had a most inusual--but still beautiful--by Cezary Skubiszewski. I looked Cezary and apparently he is a proficient Australian composer. I was wondering if anyone's heard the score? It's quite unique for a TV movie.

I recorded this in stereo from the 5.1 DVD end titles. When i heard this cue in the movie, i just found it totally awesome, unfortunately it's not included in the LaLaLand Release.

Does anyone have an original mp3 upload of the BOLT 25tr. FYC by John Powell? I have the FLAC, and converted it to mp3 for iTunes, but my iPod has since decided to stop playing the album. Really annoying. I've tried deleting and re-adding to iTunes, etc, but nothing seems to work. Any help?

Garry Marshall's sentimental film from 2007 features a folksy score by Debney. No soundtrack was commercially released. Based on the track titles, this recording would seem to be the "Recording Sessions." 25 tracks totaling about 25 minutes. Good stereo sound. No dialog or sfx.

Not really. Just File -> Open audio CD.

Drive settings: Read offset correction (click 'auto' the first time, it will find it in... 0,0005 sec !)
Ripping Security: try for yourself and compare. I have best results as "standart".
Also, the "limit drive speed while reading" is not good for my rips. But I don't have a great CD drive.

I'd recommend trying out for figuring out for yourself though.

Then rip. Convertion-> output format WAV ("auto"), will make it 16B as the source (don't check 16B or it will likely re-process to convert your 16-B to 16-B, see what I mean ?). Never dither, of course. You can also convert directly to Flac of course.

Well, that's the problem, see. There is no "Open Audio CD" option under the file menu. Don't know why I didn't get that little goodie. I may have to download it again from scratch. . . .

The closest I saw was on youtube where someone did their own edit.

Yeah, that's the version I found too - one wheir somebody actually partially recreated the Dread Rock parts, and one where somebody used the 5.1 track and tricked around a bit with fading at parts where only the orchestral version is playing.

I have a pretty close version of Superman Thing, but only a mediocre one of Underground Parking / Double Trouble.

Guess those cues never did leak past soundtrack collectors in Hollywood :/

Well, the thing is, Komit by Juno Reactor is from 1995, and it uses this one specific small melody right from the beginning - and that exact melody carries through the whole Reloaded soundtrack (the same melody that's played by the strings during the Superman Thing scene), but the track being a lot older I could understand licencing problems for an official release outside of the movie there.

Dread Rock however was more or less written specifically for the movie, and they even had access to every little steam and sfx from the track seperately, AND a completely different version containing these same elements is actually released on the 2CD OST, so it very likely wasn't licencing problems.

Well, however you turn it, those two tracks never did turn up anywhere. I've heard however that some collectors definitley did have versions of those tracks on CD, but it never really got past them.
